Op, sorry for the loss of your mum but sincerely speaking, you're sounding so selfish. You're here mourning the loss of your mother but do you know what it means to lose a wife and companion? You guys are not being fair on your dad and don't even care how he feels.
Listen, your dad married your mum 'for better for worse, till death do them apart and death has done exactly that and he has to move on with life.
By the side, what is a 26yrs old man still doing in his father's house?

RomanceRe: Ladies Are To Be Blamed If They Are Aged And Still Unmarried? by warrior01: 3:22pm On Aug 23, 2012
sanb: oh i would correct you. the reason that some ladies are not married is not due to the fact that they are waiting for ready made men. have you considered that some of us wants to achieve something for ourselves first i.e having a good education, a good career and job, money to spend etc. they are things that we need so that we are not looked on as gold diggers
i think the Op is talking about ladies that are ripe and ready for marriage but no man seem to be in sight

Gbawe: Oponu, olodo and hollow local champion, you are showing your vacuous limitations here. Much as losers and unambitious cretins like you love focusing on individuals, you will still be unable to distract balanced and exposed folks from noting that it is not Gbawe who made Nigeria, the biggest black Nation on Earth, record its most disgraceful Olympic outing in modern history.

Rather, and without doubt, it is it the cronyism, celebration of criminality and round-pegs-in-square-hole approach of this Government that is now seeing Nigeria going down hill fast in every facet of National life. There are far too many examples fools like you miss in preference for your ethnically and bias-motivated defence of that which must not be defended.

When GEJ dismissed far more competent Police bosses to accommodate the mediocrity (Ringim) who would help him use the Nigerian Police force partisanly, was it not obvious Nigeria would pay for such cronyism in future? When GEJ rewarded Haliru Bello with the Defence Minister role he did not deserve, simply because Bello helped GEJ win the 2011 elections, did fools like you think there will be no attendant negative consequences for the security of Nigerian lives and property?

Your President engages in the empowerment of corruption and mediocrity everyday, to the detriment of your nation, and cretins like you are here making fellow bloggers the centre of attention. Total proof of the lack of political sophistication facilitating the stagnation and looting of Nigeria. Much like GEJ, Nigeria is becoming increasingly about abject mediocrity, mindless corruption and the empowerment of the most undeserving in the land.
sir, in all honesty; are you ok?

PoliticsOil Discovered In Sokoto State by warrior01(op): 8:30pm On Aug 22, 2012
Just heard on AIT that oil has been discovered in Sokoto state. It was confirmed by the governor in an interview. Wishing them the very best

Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State has disclosed the presence of abundant crude oil deposits in his state.

And he added that he has concluded plans to explore them.

Wamakko dropped this hint in Sokoto when he received the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, who paid him Sallah homage .

“We will soon write the Federal Government on the issue with a view to complying with the necessary guidelines.

“The oil deposits, when fully explored and exploited, will certainly boost the socio economic status of the people of the state as well as the nation’s economy,”he said.

The governor also promised that the state government would soon commence implementation of a new salary structure for traditional rulers in the 23 local government areas of the state.

“A committee set up to look into the remunerations of traditional rulers in the state had completed its assignment.

“ We will soon come up with a white paper on the new salary for the traditional rulers and send a bill to the House of Assembly to legalise the package,’’ Wamakko said.

He commended the traditional rulers for their unalloyed support and cooperation with the state government.

He spoke about plans to introduce a special irrigation programme to boost food production.

The sultan said the visit was to felicitate with the governor on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

He commended Wamakko for giving special attention to the traditional rulers.

“ We are leaders representing the people, we must facilitate all efforts to further improve their living standard,’’ he said.

The sultan commended the governor for providing new official vehicles to all the district heads and for the ongoing rehabilitation of their residences.

PoliticsRe: Nupeng To Start Strike Tomorrow by warrior01: 5:54pm On Aug 22, 2012
I've said it and i'll continue to say it; the hypocrisy of the so called civil society groups, Nlc and the so called opposition parties is second to none. Gullible Nigerians were deceived in January with the so called 'occupy nigeria' and events today have shown the world who they really are and whose interest they are serving. Even here on nairaland, I bet you'll not see the any comment condemning this treasonable act from the anti-GEJ goons. Thank God sincere Nigerians now knows the camp that have the interest of this country at heart.

FamilyRe: My Niece Wants A Blackberry Phone by warrior01: 9:44pm On Aug 16, 2012
debrief08: She will take pictures and advertise her snacks and cakes on her BBM, some people who make orders ask for pictures and emails. She makes snacks for me to take to work, some of my collegues order too.
This money saved is aside from the little she squeezes to buy books when her younger ones need in school. Her Capital is aside and she intends to expand, she has been trying to find out if she can continue her business when she resumes school or just keep it going when she is home on holiday.
As for 1500 monthly subscription, she has a monthly allowance part of which she used as start up capital, so maintaining the phone is not an issue.
The cost of calls, texting and is almost above 1500 every month
I think something wrong here. I thought you said she's seeking an admission into a tertiary institution? If so, why are you so keen on her 'taking pictures and advertising her snacks on bbm which will eventually be to the detriment of her studies when big orders start coming in. Pls, learn to separate her wants from her needs as the most important thing for her now is to further her studies.

debrief08: Let me clear somethings, As for the parents, the circumstances with which they sent her to live with us were not straight forward, that aside, We took her as part of our family. Their definition of spoiling: I dont beat her when she is wrong, I let her have an opinion, I let her watch and argue football and politics (they believe only men should do that), I refused to make her a house help and allow her have the normal life of a teenager, After making dinner when i get back from work i am in their room or she is in mine and we share experiences of the day. Sometimes I feel they want me to be mean to her so they can have negative things to say. When she first came under the circumstances she was dropped my Mother In Law said I should send her back I knew sending her back wouldnt do her good as they are not really well to do and have lots of other kids.
I am not worried about her getting a phone from a boyfriend because she has more sense than that. I have tried to raise her to work hard and make her own mark, she wont throw that awya for a black berry. As for upgrade, We are not flashy people, we live simple lives and use money for more important things< Hubby and I use Curve so she is not getting a phone higher than Curve
In as much as she's old enough to have a phone; must it be a BB that comes with a monthly subscription? If i may ask; who will be paying for the subscription? You said she is enterprising and as a guardian are you not supposed to encourage her to invest her savings instead of squadering it on a want that would later be a liability on her? As a parent, i'll advice you get her a nokia phone (do it from your own pocket and encourage her to save more) for a start.

CuteTj: We may not even need an ACN/CPC merger to unseat PDP. Thank God this present PDP administration is not even helping the party's fortunes with its actions and inactions. Nigerians are now aware and conscious of the damage PDP has done to Nigeria and the suffering they have imposed on Nigerians. If you don't know, NOTHING LASTS FOREVER! PDP should start preparing its will, go ahead to purchase a casket and dig 6ft below. Then go home to await its death.

FamilyRe: Why Do We Refuse To Help People Financially? by warrior01: 10:18pm On Aug 14, 2012
Kobojunkie: Um. . . do you mind checking your emotions at the door please? Nowhere have I said ALL WE DO, OUR PARENTS are RESPONSIBLE FOR. Not sure where you get that.

a) When you give someone a lift, there is that likelihood that that person is a criminal. You giving the lift should not do so because you expect that in the case the person is a criminal, he will spare you. You give the lift because it is what you want to do, for you, at the time.

b) Training your niece in school is great, but don't expect her to then SPARE YOU from whatever else there may be as a result. Even people who did not train their nieces fall to the same.

I gave the example of giving to schools in Afghanistan even when you know that those kids might someday seek to blow you up . . . Giving, again, is not about what you can get from others but what you gain from giving as a person.
you're so on point
