The only thing I love about Nigeria is the music and good Nigerian foods, apart from those two things, nothing else. especially eating my favorite hot pounded yam and egusi soup filled with exotic meat and fish.

For once, I will pitch my tent with Mercy Eke. First of all, she's a Nigerian. Secondly, she never schooled outside. Her speaking with a local accent doesn't really matter as long as she gets her grammar correct. She's also very right about Ronaldo. Most of the superstars in the premier league can't speak English fluently and the fans don't even give a kettle's cover about that.

My expectations aren't high from her, they are basic educational standards which she can't meet. Have you heard Akpabio speak? Or Nse Ikpe Etim? They both have accents but they speak proper English.
You listed people from French-speaking countries as standards in English. Is English their lingua-franca there? No. They probably learnt English as adults. Mercy learnt English from primary school, English is her lingua-franca and she still speaks like an okpa hawker. Her supposed education can not even show in her speech or thought process.

You said it all. Mercy reminds me of a slay queen who claims to be a graduate. Omoo, that girl likes yanga but can’t even converse in pidgin English.
