Hi Eniola, which package of Zoom were you using? Is the slowness of the modem possibly due to your location? |
Computers / Re: Starcomms Izap - Is It Really Fast As Starcomms Claim? by webgenius(m): 8:34pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
I was pleasantly surprised to get a mail from Starcomms telling me of the expiration of my package in a few days time. I have previously complained several times to customer care of thev reason why we could not have this kind of service just like one could check the balance on one's phone by *225#. I am happy to note that one could now check one's status and remaining days on the network. If we don't ask or complain, we would get nothing. I have even started asking them to give us Total broadband(8-10Mbps), who knows one day it would just happen |

@Puskin: not whining. I'm sure you would like to benefit if there is a promo. Just wondering if there is no competition anymore in DATA services here in Nigeria. Outside of here, subscribers are given many incentives to join a network, but the reverse is the case here |

Becomerich forever!!!!!!!! May we continue to benefit from your depth of wisdom and knowledge. Those who are destined for Benin Republic should start packing their bag and baggage. The master must not speak twice |

I pay a lot of money every month to the networks, do not spend as much on voice calls per month.Yet people win a lot from the promos on voice calls and nothing for we faithful data guys. It's really not fair |
Politics / Re: Happy Birthday Becomerich! by webgenius(m): 8:28pm On Jun 26, 2010 |
Anyone who has the audacity to ask who the great one is again should be banned, or risk being excised to Republic of Benin |

Hi, were everybody dey? Has there ever been any loyalty reward for we faithful Data customers? Keep patronising the networks but nothing for us, unlike the voice customers, who keep smiling with rewards from promos? |

Hi, I use Zoomblast in Festac and the service is excellent. I don't know if this advertised package is on Zoomblast, I suspect it is 1X, so I may not be an expert on this. Seriously, Zoomblast( broadband) is the best, as I have tried and used all available modems and networks |

@ Edgecution: I agree with you. I am not enjoying this new modem, I don't know if it is the modem or the network generally. It was very poor earlier today, I considered raising N15g for my Zoomblast but backed out. I just wish I can finish my 30 days and rush back to Zoomblast forever. A customer care lady said I should uninstall i-boost and things became really really bad. I could not connect at all. |

Computers / Re: Starcomms Izap - Is It Really Fast As Starcomms Claim? by webgenius(m): 8:14pm On Jun 05, 2010 |
@aieromon: Well, I was treated in similar fashion also initially. I then promptly called someone I know upstairs and while discussing with him, I was quickly offered the modem with an offer of immediate activation by the staff on the counter there. I cannot understand why the modems will not be available at H/Q but they claim they are available at other outlets.I smelt a rat, as I believe they simply find a way of acquiring these modems and probably reselling at a profit. Their attitude also seemed to have been swayed, in part, by my truthful claim that I am going to be using the modem for my office. |

I bought the AnyData for N31,000,came with 15 days free browsing and Surf always. The ZTE is still being assessed, looks a bit slower, I don't know if it is the modem or the network. Is there a way in which I can use a GSM SIM with this modem as it has a slot for a GSM Card as well as the MicroSD slot. I want to use MTN sim on it to browse. |

Hi all, I just got my new modem ZTE iZAP@Flexi EVDO REV A by swapping my old AnyData AUD-E100 for the new modem. The claimed max download is 3.1 Mbps and it has a MicroSD Card slot. I had to pay N4250 and for a service plan of N7000, total of N11,250. I got this at the H/Q at Bishop Kale, VI. Hopefully, I will enjoy using it for one month while I take a break from Zoomblast. I will then have saved N3,750 for this month and have a new modem. |
Politics / Re: Obj Is Bad Yes, But He's Still Nigeria's Best Ever President. No Contest by webgenius(m): 8:24pm On May 24, 2010 |
I want to join the discuss but from a more rational angle. Obj had his successes as well as his failures. Like a few have said, a country like Nigeria is difficult to govern, no matter how good intentioned your project is, there will be people around trying their best to scuttle it. The lives of civil servants improved from 1999,I can attest to this.GSM which had been on the drawing board since the early to mid-nineties became a reality. We started to have the mindset of patriotism, putting in our best, due process and ethics in government and business during his era. Downsides : many. Failure to bring the IPPs to fruition.I find it unacceptable that so much money was approved under him and he did not PERSONALLY see to it that the projects were carried out diligently. Obj had too much respect for his friends: which is why many are walking free despite not completing projects for which they received payments. He paid too much attention to rewarding past alliances and friendships which is why we had Umaru, the Imokes, etc in govt. I can continue to enumerate on both sides, but the wish and prayer is that we will learn from our past and make the future better. Please God give us someone like BRF on the national level. |

Hi everyone, good to read you all again.Victor you are always welcome back, I'm worried though because in a week or two I will have to make a modem swap and pay for one month starcomm subscription.I'll go for the N8000 surf business just to reduce my exposure in the event that I have to pay for Zoomblast N15000 if the starcomms messes up. How is Aj? |

I think your list is way off the mark. I would consider El-Rufai, Ribadu or any young Northerner, not someone bigger in statute than Goodluck. Someone who can be a leader tomorrow. |
