Health / Re: My Sister's Foot And Toe Are Causing Her A Lot Of Pain (Pictures) by webgenius(m): 1:12am On Aug 11, 2020
It is not Athlete's foot, which is tinea pedis. This is ingrown toenail(Onychocryptosis) with superimposed fungal infection of the nail(Onychomycosis)

Health / Re: My Sister's Foot And Toe Are Causing Her A Lot Of Pain (Pictures) by webgenius(m): 12:12am On Aug 11, 2020
Simple diagnosis: Ingrown toe nail on both sides of the great toe with superimposed fungal infection.

Recommended treatment
1. Better foot hygiene
2. Avoid walking unshod. Pictures show she walks barefooted frequently
3. Foot soaks using lukewarm water for 20-30minutes twice a day for 2-3 weeks. A single vial of 80mg of Gentamicin can be added into the water before foot soaks
4. Application of moisturizing creams or petroleum jelly eg Vaseline after foot soaks
5. Topical antifungals and antibiotics or oral broad spectrum antibiotics and topical antifungals. A combination of antifungal and antibiotic eg skineal or vecuten is useful. Please note that antifungals may need to be taken for 4-6months
6. Wedge resection of the nail and nail plate on both sides of the toenail, with preservation of the nail guaranteed for better cosmesis. This will require the skills of a well trained and motivated Orthopaedic Surgeon. This is not for any doctor or Surgeon.
If the above plan is followed , I guarantee 100% success.

Politics / Re: WTO Accepts Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Nomination For DG by webgenius(m): 12:58am On Jun 10, 2020
The Egyptian should quietly tell his country to withdraw his nomination and save himself the indignity of a catastrophic loss.
Politics / Re: How Lagos Made History With Virtual Exco Meeting by webgenius(m): 1:06pm On Apr 01, 2020
This is a good development in our public and governance lives as Nigerians. We spend too much money, time and other resources planning and attending various meetings at great risk to life and limbs. Consider the example of just the monthly FAAC Meeting, 36 state commissioners and maybe 3-5 staff will travel to Abuja by road+or - air, hotel accommodation in Abuja, out-of station allowance, feeding, transport, sometimes the meeting drags for more days or is planned to continue after 1 week etc. The cost of attending this meeting alone is humongous. Consider many other meetings by thousands of other MDAs alone or with State counterparts and it will become clear that the total cost of attending meetings runs into hundreds of billions by very conservative estimates. Consider also that the Federal Minister of Finance cannot stay in her office and monitor real time transactions occuring in her Ministry, talk less all the parastatals under her or even disbursement of funds to states and LGA. It becomes obvious that there are many sources of waste and access to fraudulent practices in our national and state lives than one can imagine.
Why go to Abuja every month for FAAC meeting, when this can be organised through teleconferencing with much less effort and cost? At the very least everyone can come together once or twice or thrice a year, once certain templates as established or automated. We have Galaxy backbone whose responsibity it should be to interconnect all Federal, state and local government organizations for seamless operations
Health / Re: Dr. Maduka Performing Spinal Surgery On Patient In Las Vegas (Video) by webgenius(m): 8:02pm On Mar 07, 2020
This man is an anaesthesiologist and a Pain Medicine expert. He is probably performing accupuncture on that patient and not surgery. He is neither a Neurosurgeon nor a Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeon
Politics / Re: Justice Mary Odili In Supreme Court Panel Reviewing Bayelsa Election Judgement by webgenius(m): 5:02pm On Feb 26, 2020
This is a very common practice in Bayelsa state. Many civil servants are in service with unverifiable credentials. It will take a lot of guts to cleanse the system
Education / Re: MDCAN Begins Indefinite Strike by webgenius(m): 9:27pm On Feb 25, 2020
This is the usual problem with our society. Inadequate knowledge and a desire to generalise all issues. The question we should seek an answer to dispassionately is what is the best practice all over the world? Is what NUC is advocating workable? In most parts of the world medical teaching and practice is carried out by Fellowship-trained Consultants in Clinical Medicine. PhD is required by Graduate medical doctors in the Bassic Sciences and no one is contesting that. The contentious issue is with Clinical Medicine. PhD degrees are not required of academicians in clinical medicine all over the world and it must also be stated that academic papers from Colleges of Medicine, even with our current state, still outclass and outnumber those from all other faculties in almost all Universities in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. Many academic clinicians have also been Professors and Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian universities, and in fact many clinical departments in Nigerian Universities have the highest number of Professors in any faculty in almost all Nigerian Universities.
What then is the recent mis-directive from the NUC? Is it the new battleground between doctors and non doctors within the Nigerian society?
It may surprise many that this recommendation by the NUC is unworkable at this time in our history, maybe in about 30-50 years. At this time, no Nigerian university has programs for PhD in the clinical sciences before the last 2-3 years, not even the reputable University of Ibadan. How can you then wake up and demand PhD certification from clinical lecturers?
The fellowship program run by the National Postgraduate Medical College and the West African Postgraduate Medical College is far more rigorous than a PhD Dissertation and also has substancial academic training as part of the curriculum.
NUC should be working with these institutions to strengthen the training of medical personnel for our country, not trying to stifle or muzzle others into a strait jacket to achieve some personal vainglorious objectives.

Politics / Re: Ben Bruce Laments About The Rejection Of His Bill For Electric Cars In Nigeria by webgenius(m): 2:47pm On May 10, 2019
Ben Bruce is right, and Nigeria has no control over this. Most countries will stop production of cars running on petrol in 10-15 years. We will be helpless at that time. We also stand to gain a lot as fuel importation will reduce and less subsidies, currently in trillions per year.
I see us in confusion and panic mode at that time, unless we prepare

Health / Re: How To Treat Whitlow by webgenius(m): 9:10am On Jun 17, 2018
Good day everyone, please ignore most of the advice given above. Whitlow is the colloquial(street name) for pulp space abscess of the proximal and middle segments of the finger, most often bacterial in origin. Please see your doctor who would perform a very simple incision and drainage procedure after administration of a local anaesthetic. The pus within the space is drained and healing is quite good. I had this 3-4 times as a child and now have the privilege of treating thousands of people with this condition. It is different from herpetic infection of the hand often seen in people who work in the oral cavity like dentists, dental technologists.

I like the way Sodiq wrote to Cambridge Assessment today and got a reply within hours. Why can't someone help us write Cambridge or WAEC whichever is and ask them to give us a certified true copy of his result. This actually properly should be done by the canditate himself, noone should be doing this for anyone else.
Business / Re: The Bricklayer’s Explanation To Oil Price Fall, Naira Devaluation & Everything by webgenius(m): 9:54pm On Nov 27, 2014
@Xetima, Amaechi did well and saved over 40 billion for Rivers, I only wonder why he has left save mode to spend mode. He got a loan approval from the state legislators and I think he has made another request for more money. I only hope it is not for 2015 things. He continues to wail over the reduced Federal allowee he is getting as reason for his inability to complete many of his projects
Business / Re: The Bricklayer’s Explanation To Oil Price Fall, Naira Devaluation & Everything by webgenius(m): 9:31pm On Nov 27, 2014
@Sureguy02 ans Franciskaine. I agree with you guys line of thought. I think the Op's post has many inaccuracies despite some applause it has received here. There is a grand plan of deception going on in our country. Oil prices remained high for many years, we accumulated reserves and blew same away. During this period we were made to pay more for petrol rather ironically,if the crude price rises we pay more, as the crude price drops we are told to brace ourselves to pay more again despite what should be less subsidy. The naira to dollar exchange rate fell from 1 to 85 to 1 to 120/130. and worsened again to 1 in 155, all despite more income to Nigeria. People are always ready to provide some explanation or the other to us. Simply stated, we are being played for fools. The masses are being ripped off in so many ways. We have some of the best economists and technocrats but our economy still lies prostate before others. Within a few days/weeks of this drop in prices, we are being subjected to austerity measures to further emasculate us. The speed with which these are being proposed is very alarming.

Imagine IMF even commending us on these measures, those harbingers of evil who never wish us well. They cannot recommend some of their pills to the USA,UK, Japan etc, but readily coerce lesser economies to accept their evil prescriptions. Please NOI, what is happening? I am begininig to reconsider my reverred high esteem for you. We paid $12 billion less than 10 years ago, got debt pardon for $18 billion and now our debts are going northwards again at supersonic speeds. I have always hoped that under your watch our exchange rate will get closer to 1 USD to 100 Naira, but my dreams seem so impossible to become reality.
Please God help our country, help our unborn generations, may we know the end to poverty and self-inflicted sorrow and deprivation.

Please NOI and the so called gurus, invite lesleba and other genuine and selfless Nigerians to help.

well I guess they have more time to mourn their child or go back to Bahamas!!!! Wonder which one they would choose now. Facebook has some benefits but certainly many people have lost themselves in it to the extent that it compromises other things in life. Many of
our youth, and adults if I must say behave as if it is an addiction that cannot be controlled.
Business / Re: Nigeria Customs And Dhl Problem by webgenius(m): 9:42pm On May 10, 2011
Similar experience. Sister decided to purchase groom's outfit, bestman's outfit and my bro's, labelled them gift items, items were mistakenly overpriced by her neighbour in whose custody they were left for pick-up as she had to go to work( friend assumed cost was GBP 200 for each instead of cost of all, sent by DHL, arrived Friday and no communication until Tuesday 4 days to wedding.Asked to pay N109,000, sister sent scanned copy of receipt, DHL very unhelpful considering that the contract was with DHL and not Customs. Senior official said I should go and "settle" with customs otherwise I may have to do my wedding wearing my singlet and shorts. Was to travel Wednesday morning, as wedding was outside Lagos. Customs said to bring at least half of that amount or no deal. I decided that goods should be returned to Sender to deprive them of stealing my suits after they would be sent to govt bonded warehouses, and then purchase ready made in shops here in Lagos.
The lesson here the way I see it is that the Courier companies are loosing big time as people continue to have nasty experiences like these.I wish management would see these complaints and respond otherwise one day they would become like NITEL, AIRWAYS and other failed companies. I have vowed NEVER to use DHL again and to campaign actively against them. If goods require duty, then they should inform the Sender at the point of transaction and give details of the cost so that you make an informed decision.
It's a big cartel in the cargo section as the couriers create this problem and make you come to them to "settle"

Health / Re: I Ejaculate Within 5mins,please What Drugs Should I Use? by webgenius(m): 1:58pm On Apr 10, 2011
You may not really have a problem, except that you have come to believe that you must be in there for hours on end before you become satisfied. There is no standard lenght of time that you have to stay, like someone suggested try other measures like pre-intimacy etc before penetration. As long as you do ejaculate , and a quality one at that you are fine.

Health / Re: Condoms Or Postinor 2 ( advice n vote) by webgenius(m): 1:53pm On Apr 10, 2011
There is nothing like which is better, you have to understand the situation involved in the use of each of them to appreciate the benefit of each. Condoms is good if you have casual, regular intercourse. If you have occasional encounters with a regular whom you trust postinor may be just ok for you. And if you like, you can combine both of them, because condom fit tear while you dey inside. Bottom line- know yourself, what you want and be safe

Health / Re: Help With Wicklow: by webgenius(m): 1:29pm On Apr 10, 2011
It is unlikely to be whitlow. If it is around the nail borders, it could be ingrown toenail, if it is around the nail itseklf it is paronychia.Either way, it is very easily treated by your surgeon. If you would like help any further let me know or call 08039626075
