Taichimaster:For N20,000, I'll register your domain and host your blog with a reputable US-based host. In addition, I'll install WordPress and customize your blog with a premium theme and necessary plugins. And I'll give you solid tips on how to grow your blog fast and make it stand out. |
My Camon C9 Pro comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB interrnal memory. So, no much difference here. |
lestat:Oh you took my words seriously? I was just trying hard to be funny. |
I sympathize with him. But that didn't stop me from getting more insight into why he wears a beret most of the time: his middle name (Selcap) speaks volumes. |
I'm planning to get an SUV (tokunbo) very soon, and I need one or two contributions to make my final decision. Having done my research about different SUVs, I narrowed my options down to Ford Edge 2007 and Mazda CX-7 2007. My choice of those options was down to budget, beauty, several online expert reviews, and other factors. I decide not to go with the usual "buy a Toyota or a Honda" cliche that Nigerians would never stop promoting. (So, please don't derail this thread with some Toyota or Honda talk). Now, if you or someone close to you has used either a Mazda CX-7 or a Ford Edge, kindly share your experience with the vehicle. Please don't bother commenting if all you know about the cars are just hearsay. Only comments based on first-hand experience with the vehicles are welcome. Thanks. |
horlando30:Thanks so much for your input. |

passyhansome:You read another meaning entirely into my words. I stated clearly in my earlier comment that I'm not defending the crazy system. In fact it's not a system worth defending. I only stated that the poor state of the system notwithstanding, pregnancy and delivery are not among the issues our health care system find difficult to handle well. And in most cases where complications arise, it's usually due to some quackery in non-hospital settings. Agreed there are several health issues that seem to be beyond our very poor and substandard health care system, but definitely not pregnancy and Labour. Try to compare the number of accident victims who die as a result of lack of intensive care units and cancer patients who die as a result of paucity of effective management techniques, and you'll see that pregnancy and Labour are not major issues to handle. If you still don't understand my stand, then you can just let it go. |
passyhansome:For every 10 you name, I can bet it that there are 50-100 cases that happened in non-hospital settings. I'm a final year medical student, and we've seen lots of cases where women in Labour are rushed down as a result of complications following non-hospital attempts at delivery. |
passyhansome:Please don't draw conclusions yet. The poor state of our Healthcare system notwithstanding, managing pregnancy and preventing maternal mortality is one of the easiest things to achieve in this country. But the truth is, many women (even the well educated ones) prefer to patronize traditional birth attendants or deliver their babies in churches and mosques for reasons best known to them. You don't know where the lady in question died. So, find out before blaming maternal mortality on the system. I'm not saying she patronized the substandard outlets, but most women who lost their lives after childbirth trod that path. And in their cases, the government isn't to blame at all, because no matter how much of awareness the government does, whatever the pastor or Imam says still reigns supreme. |
The mods should stop pushing news like this to the home page because they would in a way create unnecessary panic and tension in the minds of Nairalanders who are pregnant at the moment. I sympathize with the family of the late women, but the truth is hundreds of women die after childbirth in this country everyday, and there is just no benefit in publicizing the death of a select few. Please let our sisters on Nairaland carry their pregnancies with peace of mind. |
Leyqute:Kindly refer to the original post. |
tripoli007:Thanks for helping to keep the thread alive and prominent. I greatly appreciate. |
busybrain123:For those who are used to jobs like this, it takes 3hrs a day or less. Whether I'm stingy and greedy for hiring someone to work 3hrs or thereabout for 30 days isn't yours to judge. And just so you know, applications are coming in already, and the vetting process has started. Thanks for your genuine concern. |
tripoli007:If you have problems with not minding your own business, I can't help you. In your cretinous mind, Mondays to Fridays in a month would sum up to 30 days, right? |
Whao! |
tripoli007:You can ask any oracle man near you. If the post isn't for you, why not just ignore and pass? |

royalads:LOL at "feel threatened". By what? By a post generated with an article spinner? Well, there's nothing to feel good about here. I'm only being factual. Nobody goes far in blogging with spun content. It only speaks volume of the owner's laziness. What's the meaning of "but at identical time" and Adsense commercials? It's too obvious the writing was created artificially and nobody gets impressed with such. |
Recession wedding. But wait, is Kenya in recession? |
royalads:This is obviously a stupid article generated with an article spinner. With this annoyingly lazy approach to blogging, you won't go far. Blogging isn't by force. |
rusellweb:Many people who don't know jack about SEO do parade themselves as experts just to make you part with your money. Before going with any SEO, ask for proofs of projects they've handled successfully in the past. Ask for screenshots showing the before and after rankings of sites they've worked on. Whoever can't provide you any is a learner. Again, whoever can't provide convincing proof of successful past SEO projects won't get you any good results. Be warned. |
holuwanoisy111:Start by asking yourself what you have to offer. Is it your knowledge or experience in a line of business that many people are willing to learn? Is it your zeal for researching interesting information and sharing with others? Is it your interest on a topic that you think many other people are always interested in? By answering the above question, you'd be able to decide what niche or subject you want to blog about. Whatever your choice is, be sure that it's a topic that many people are interested in. Also decide whether you want a blog that is catered to only Nigerians or to a global audience. Your next step is to set up your blog, preferably on WordPress -- for too many reasons than I can list out here. Then conduct some keyword research to figure out the exact kind of information in your niche that people are looking for. This will help you to attract a huge audience quickly enough. But if you're going into news (entertainment news, sports news, etc.), this might not be necessary. Start publishing posts on your blog. Then start working your tail off to get traffic from any means -- sensible means, I mean. You can tap traffic from other blogs, social media, Whatsapp, and online forums like Nairaland. I would've loved to go into the technical details of how to get traffic from these platforms, but I don't have the time right now. Arrange a way to turn your first-time visitors into repeat visitors by creating a mailing list or any other avenue through which they can get updates each time you publish new stuff on your blog. There are no rules regarding this. You can use a Facebook group, Whatsapp group, Twitter, BBM Channel, a custom Android app, and the default subscription module that comes with the WordPress Jetpack plugin. Never stop reading authority blogs about blogging to learn more about the art as well as strategies for growing your blog over time. Also, don't underestimate the power of connecting with other bloggers. When your audience grows to a decent size, start considering monetization: Adsense, affiliate marketing, creating and selling your own products, offering freelance services, etc. This post isn't meant to be a complete guide on blogging, so I didn't go into the technical details of each step. To learn more about each step, simple put the relevant query in Google, and you'd get more results than you need. I hope this help. |
chris20000:Your decision to start an online business is no doubt a smart one, but you need to be very cautious, so you won't fall into the wrong hands. Since you prefer a "passive" option, then you'd be fine with affiliate marketing, as it's one of the easiest options out there. However, even though it's a way to make passive income, affiliate marketing isn't as easy as most people paint its picture. And as with any passive income venture, you'd need to put in lots of hardwork before you can rest while the profits come in. While there are many high-paying affiliate programs out there, such as those of digital products on Clickbank and web hosting packages, you might have a hard time making headway with these due to disparities in conversion as well as buyer psychology. If you have no problems with attaining small goals for a start and then scaling them to bigger ones, then I'd recommend the Amazon Affiliate program. If you play your cards right with that, you'd start making some decent income within 6 to 12 months. It's not free from challenges, and just like any other online business model, it requires that you learn the ropes before taking a plunge. Free resources that detail all you need to make money from the Amazon Affiliate program abound online, and they're just some Google searches away (I can send you some links if you so wish). How do I know that there's money in Amazon Affiliate? Well, I've been with the program since 2015, and so far the journey has been fantastic. I made $2,000+ last November and about $3,300 in December. Although sales have dropped drastically this January, I've already crossed the $1,000 mark. If that's what I get every month for doing nothing, then I think it's cool. But I won't fool you, it took me close to a year to start earning decently. And along the line, I invested lots of time and even cash (not so much, though). To succeed as an Amazon Affiliate marketer, you need just 2 things: the right niche keyword and well-written, detailed content. I'm not referring to 500-word articles here. I mean posts that are 2000 words long -- or even longer. If you can't write those yourself, you need to pay someone to write them for you. That's where most of your monetary investment will go into, aside the cost of hosting and domain name registration. |
At the end, your choice boils down to how much you can afford. |
Mehn... There is serious frustration in the land... And Nigerians now vent theirs at every opportunity, on anyone, and through whatever medium. |
Olasco93:Continue, but please don't come to tell us how you later discovered that it had 128MB of RAM and 2GB internal memory. |
prettymina:Try to involve some elderly people who have understanding of the Deen, especially your relatives or people we'll known to your parents. Get them to talk to your parents, so they can realize that Islam forbids those things and they don't necessarily have to include them as part of the celebration. Don't forget to pray to Allaah to soften your parents' hearts. But if your parents insist, your last resort is to disapprove of those things with your heart. |
coveredchic:You don't have to engage in all these prohibitions to make your wedding joyous and merry. People hold interesting and enjoyable waleemahs that involve none of these. |
budosky:Your statement wasn't completely clear to me. But here's my phone number: 08062357604 (since I got that part). |
