Spanishmario: Give me an exact breakdown of your estimated cost of attendance (as it appears on your I-20 or school website) and I will explain further. Right now, I do not understand what it is as you have given me many different figures within your last 3 posts. |

Spanishmario: 23k is fine but you really don't have to spend that much if you know your way The only mandatory expenses are tuition/fees and insurance. All others are "negotiable". 1 Like |

Find Out!: If your flight actually lands at 8am, you should be good. But what if your flight gets delayed for whatever reason? Can you arrive the night before? |

Spanishmario: Plz guruz, is a tuition fee of 12K USD per semester expensive What School? Program? Undergrad or Grad? No one (other than your sponsor) can decide if its expensive or not, we aint the one paying Also know that it might have an impact on your visa interview as your I-20 will probably show an estimated annual cost of attendance of about 35-40K USD (assuming living expenses, insurances and books amount to 11-16K). You will have to show your sponsor can afford to spend that amount each year for the duration of your program. You might also have to explain why your sponsor will want to spend that kind of amount (almost N6.5m per annum) to educate you. |

flynbird: Please which airline is presently the cheapest to New York (JFK). I don't mind stop overs like dubai. I've tried emirates but its not giving me my desired search result. How do you guys get it done? Besides what I saw on their web, I don't understand. Saw something like tax which is equivalent to the cost. What's that all about? $300 is cheap if you have your own bathroom and utilities included. Just make sure its close enough to campus (within walking distance or at least on the bus route). What dates are you looking to travel? You'll probably get the cheapest fares from any of the following airlines but it also depends on your travel date. Royal Jordanian Egypt Air Royal Air Maroc Alitalia Emirates Qatar Airways These are the airlines I've seen with fares under $2000 for August but seats are filling up fast. |

bigfrancis21: Congrats on your admit ... great school and location u got there! As for certifications, the MCITP is a good cert to obtain. However, systems and network administration usually go hand-in-hand so I'd advise you also do the CCNA (right after your MCITP) to further increase your employability. And somewhere down the line you can begin to look at Project Management (PMP)and IT Service Management (ITIL) if you want to fast-track your journey to becoming an oga at the top 2 Likes |

I see there's a lot of people in need of GRE/GMAT/TOEFL/IELTS materials for self study and there's only one or two persons sharing these materials here so I decided to aggregate these materials and set up an auto-response system for accessing them instantly. If anyone needs these materials, let them simply send an email to selfstudy360@gmail.com and they'll get an automated response containing direct download links for all the materials in the repository (which will be updated as new materials become available). Big thanks to bigfrancis21 and all other contributors for the links. If you have links to any materials necessary for inclusion, please let me know. 8 Likes |

honourableseyi: @Webradamos, I picked the community college to make the admission easier and at the same time to lower the cost of study. The school fees of this CC i am talking about is as low as $3,500 per year and the total cost of living is reasonable too. Very bad reason ... if you truly want to study, that shouldn't be a criteria for selecting a school. You're already coming off as an escapee and trust me the VO will be able to smell that miles away! I understand the cost part but like I mentioned earlier, take the SAT, apply to a good Uni and avoid these short-cuts you're looking to ply. Apply for your visa with an I-20 from a good Uni and then you may re-route to a CC when you get here. |

honourableseyi: I want to appreciate the founder of this forum, may God continue to bless you and increase your wisdom.I have read experiences and testimonies on this thread but none has not been able to address my own case.I am seeking admission to study in a 2 years community college in Texas to be precise. But people have been saying the chance is very slim but i believe with God and with the help of this forum, everything will go as planned.my question is where do i start from? i have searched and got about two schools already. What should be the next thing for me or next step to take? Truly your chances are slim with an I-20 from a CC. Why don't you also apply to a good University and then apply for visa with the Uni I-20? When you get here, you can attend the CC if that's what you want. |

ak95: Fellow Bros(es) and Sis, I hail o. What a great Elite forum. I'm new here. I have only gone thru this part 4, I will try and read up d part 1-3. Pls I need you guys advice. I want to apply for Ph.D in mechanical Engineering in the following schools: Michigan Tech University, Utah State University, or M.Sc in University of North Carolina and Indiana State University. We'd need your profile (GPA, GRE, Research Experience etc) to be able to advise you. But one advice I can readily give now is that you try to getting into an R1 institution if going for a Ph.D. University of North Carolina at Chapel seems to be the only R1 in your list so that should be your top pick for Ph.D. You can then add any of the others to the mix |
