Ricky Rozay: Hello guys, US Air is genuine. Delays happen with every airline especially during winter when you will be arriving. But hey, whats the hurry? I found Sun Country for $140 on Kayak so you might want to check that out. One thing you must understand though is that you have to pay for checked-in luggage outside of the airfare (and this is the norm for domestic flights). Regarding the other issue, I spoke to the guy and I should get some feedback soon. Will reply your email then. 1 Like |

Ms Nas: Plus the US bank's ATM fees which could range from $3 to $5 per transaction. Also note that some bank ATM's have very low ATM withdrawal limits (sometimes as low as $300) per transaction and all those charges would eventually add up. @waledudu ... I posted this a while back. webstradamus: |

The VO is definitely inexperienced; she was wrong to have denied you based on your original start date when the school had granted you an extension (and you had proof). Tough luck! But fear not, you will definitely get it the next time. On another note, I'm really curious to know why Webster though. I hope you got a full ride sha cos with a GRE score of 320, you could have gotten into ... 1 Like |

olarwarlay: @Flynbird - For your international calls, use KeepCalling.com.... All you need to do is register, choose a local number to use, buy the desired minutes, activate the pinless dial option and call from your phone. Great suggestions Olarwarlay! @Flynbird You might also want to check out Localphone at http://www.localphone.com/prices/monthly_subscriptions $7.80/month gets you 200 minutes to Nigeria. That's 3.9ยข/min. However, you cannot carry over unused minutes to the next month. |

foohard: Hello House, That's really outrageous. Are you sure its only for Fall? Cos I know they usually charge for a full session. Even at that, its still on the high side. But you need to confirm first if you are allowed to buy your own insurance as some schools do not allow international students do that. If they allow, then you're in luck! I think Imperiouxx would have some suggestions on good deals on insurance. |

foohard: Hello House, Dude, forget about that study leave. Maybe God is trying to tell you something by the delays. Do not miss your flight ... resign and pay them the 1 month salary. Don't tie yourself down over there. The future is very bright for you here, trust me I had similar fears in my time but now I know better. If you're in IT and you're good at what you do, there is no UNKNOWN. You will get a JOB! And your Nigerian experience will count especially if you've got professional certifications to go with it. Even if you have to start afresh with entry level positions, it will still be miles ahead of whatever you're earning right now (adjusted for cost of living/inflation) and the quality of life is incomparable. Only challenge may be visa sponsorship but it appears that won't be a problem for you since your wife is a PR. Bro, don't modify the perfect script God has written for your life. Just go with the flow 2 Likes |

syahboy: Yeah! Bro that's the thing, don't really want to wait and the NYSC thing I see it as a waste of time. I'm just aiming at top 40 programs for Ms, then for Phd I'll concentrate on top 20 programs. Considering I want to get a phd wasting a year on NYSC is a big deal for me, I wish there was a way I could make Fall 2014. Thanks bro I hope you enjoy your flight to the USA With the kind of GRE score you have, you should be aiming for top 10 programs ... don't limit yourself! I believe you're probably enroute a first class already (undergraduate), just try to hit a 5.0 in your final 2 semesters in school. Start doing research with your professors and try to have them include you as a co-author in one or two publications. Finally, apply directly to a PhD program since that is your ultimate goal. On another note, could you send me the extra GRE materials you used so I could make them available to everyone? 1 Like |

Just in case anyone is still looking for a cost-effective (or should I say cost-free ) way of transferring money from their GTB account to their US bank account, simply go to any Walmart and purchase a money order in your name using your GTB Naira Mastercard. You can then pay in the money order to your US bank account. You do not incur any charges from GTB (since it is a POS transaction) and the money order only costs $0.70 (70 cents). If you ask me I'd say this is the cheapest and fastest way to transfer funds to the US from Naija. However, maximum you can go on a single money order is $1000 so if you wanted to transfer say $5000, you would have to purchase 5 money orders (total cost will be $3.50). Imagine how much savings you would be making when compared to doing a wire transfer! Plus you get your money instantly!! 4 Likes |

Was so blind that I couldn't detect it. Even my parents didn't detect it too. Was later revealed to us at the church that something nasty could have happened to me in the US. That the man who interviewed me really loved me. That he acted like a father as well as my God. LOL! Bros which church you dey go? 1 Like |
