Due to Sandy, some folks here in America are experiencing long queues to buy fuel. So how did the government respond? They waived the tax on the fuel tankers coming in, free public transportation (bus + rail) with appeals for calm from the shaken public. Is someone picking some lessons here?

Career › Re: The Minimum Salary A Wise Graduate Should Not Decline Nowadays. by wellmax(m): 2:31pm On Oct 31, 2012
kingingkinging: However, if we want to pick an average salary, I think N60,000 for a start is not too bad. With that you can:
1. Pay your T. fare=N15,000 a month (highest)
2. Pay your tithe=N6000
3. Feed yourself=N18,000 @N600 per day
4. Cloth yourself=N5000 @ N2,500 per shirt (avg)
5. Save remaining N16,000 for future use eg writing of professional exams, etc.
Ahhha nothing for charity? IMO sha oo
Education › Re: Abia Shuts-down Over 100 Illegal Schools by wellmax(m):
Abia state is gradually waking up.
I served in Abia and know the sort of schools they have.
In Aba, owing a school is pure business, no interest of students at all.
Imagine a school with 100% corpers as teachers, and yet they are paid N5000.00, what happens then is that teachers are changed every 8months.
Some of the schools have less than 5 classrooms and still it is God's bla bla bla International school.

Music/Radio › Re: Nominees For Nigeria Radio Awards 2012 by wellmax(m): 11:51pm On Oct 29, 2012
nex: Information from the organizers of the awards indicate that some stations did not submit their entries through the prescribed channels, as is the standard in other parts of the world. They assumed that they would simply be fixed into the list by the organizers "based on who dem be".

Unfortunately, it didn't pan out that way. A friend of mine, Tunji, is the only nominee in the 'Business And Finance' category, however, if he's unable to attract the least number of votes required, no award will be given for that category by default. I must say I like the way these awards are being organized without making provisions for the "Nigerian factor".
Τ̅☺ those of you complaining about the absence of your favorite act on the list, reading the above post carefully might help.

If your bike is taken away and you turn to arm robbery, then I know that you have been a robber all the while, Bike was just a tool and a cover up.
Tell me, PDP Amechi banned Okada in PHC, what happened....nothing, in fact crime rate has reduced.
Bike was banned in PDP's Abuja, what happened....again natin..life just went on. Several PDP cities did same.
So stop this unnecessary beaf for ACN.

I believe this. I have always maintained that, good laws or bad laws, Lagos appears to be the only state that is thinking in Nigeria. Look at other state, its just business as usual. With time things will indeed be better.

informatix: Check the source of the story what is naij.com is NOT a valid website. TOO many Morons in Nairaland. Naij.com isnt punch or sun or thisday why believe them?.
Nigerian aviation authorities have dismissed reports in social media networks today that a Boko Haram member tried to blow up in midair a flight from Maiduguri to Abuja.
Ministry of Aviation officials told SaharaReporters described the story as completely false, stressing that there was no threat to the Maiduguri-Abuja flight.
A statement attributed to the pilot of the plane also said there was no bomb on the flight.
“We only had an unruly passenger who was high on drugs blabbing rubbish. There was no Boko Haram attempting to bomb any plane.”
The airline said it was preparing an official statement on the incident for the media.
