whateverkay:The day your non existing sense would permit you to post something sensible here, nairaland will probably crash for a week |
FastShipping:I almost wanted to agree with you. But then, you comparing Obama honoring jury duties in US, and GEJ honoring court summons in Nigeria is off the mark. You can't compare a US with an established legal system that abides with legal tenets with a Nigerian court of which the judge is most likely under the control of the prosecutors (FG) GEJ stands to be ridiculed if he honours that invitation. The presidency doesn't honor court rulings either, so why should private citizens do same? |
whateverkay:Words of ![]() |
obidevine It is so obvious this is from a foreign publication. The way the structures on the corner lots were described indicates mostly suburban houses without perimeter fences in north America and Europe. How many corner piece properties have you seen in Nigeria devoid of fences? The write up is OK, but it wasn't describing things peculiar to Nigeria. I make bold to tell you that in Nigeria, there are mostly pros, and a few cons. One of the bigger cons is that you spend more on perimeter fences for your property. |
That's sad. As much as I empathise with the victim and his family, I can't help but observe the lack of relevant info in the very shoddy reporting. First thing that would occur to anyone reading this is, what is the age of the victim? Only pointer to that is where it was mentioned that he was in class 6. And he's been sodomized since the past 4 to 5 years. Nothing about the age of the teacher, either. Just that the report referred to him as Mishra. Everything is on the decline nowadays; quality of news reports as well as morality. |
IamtherealRita:You wouldn't ask me those questions if you had seen the original news report. The reason why you lots fall for silly news from hungry tuppenny bloggers |
![]() These bloggers sef... Yes, ISIS indeed threatened the upcoming mundial in Russia. But.... Lionel Messi wasn't threatened directly. His image was used for the shock value. Messi is one of the most recognized faces in world football. ISIS could have also used a picture of C.Ronaldo. It all boils down to making the world and the Russian government sit up. The friendly match may or may not hold, and Messi may or may not play. ISIS threat is directed at the world cup event itself, not individual players or countries. |
AreaFada2:I thank you for this exposé. Little kids on here with internet who couldn't even wipe their asses properly needed to be schooled. That one you quoted up there happened to be one of them. That's the damage the discontinuation of history lessons in school has caused. They don't ever read. They can't even make independent researches on their own. Such is the new subnormal and metally deficient generation the country keeps churning out. |
GavelSlam:This point of reasoning of yours is exactly what Nigeria's politicians were banking on when they proscribed the study of history in schools. They needed folks such as you to be ignorant, rudderless, without a focus. I'm very sure that FFK had a very good history teacher as well as textbooks when he was in secondary school. If he were not even born by that time the Aburi meeting took place, he would read about it in historical texts. You obviously have never read any authoritative history book of your country, and because of that, you think everyone else ought to be ignorant?? |
Guyman02:God bless you for this objective analysis |
When you stroll through the streets and markets in Deira, you are sure to notice Nigerian influence on the Indians, Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi and other merchants from Asia. Many of them speak pidgin English with a few smattering of Igbo and Yoruba. Thing is, Nigerians there are very outgoing. The hustling boys there have even made the merchants learn how to be aggressive with calling potential customers, whereas in the past, they quietly sit in their shops and wait for customers to approach. Not any more. |
Wow! The good old days when plots of land were made to be at least 100ft x 100ft. Wonder how much a virgin plot goes for in that location? Is this asking price, or it is fixed, and non negotiable? ![]() Happy sales, bro! |
sarrki:U suddenly found your voice, and your fingers can type again, abi? ![]() In a few more days, your paymaster will fvck up as normal, and you will go into hiding your scrawny ass yet again. Your job sucks. Seriously! |
![]() That's how good men roll....no need for Rolls. Funny thing is, those pple above criticizing him for not accepting the car gift, will be the first to blame him for accepting it, if he did. World people sef! ![]() |
![]() Now they are searching...? All this time, Maina was strutting in plain sight, while DSS and EFCC were pointing fingers and making counter claims, just so they can absolve themselves. Suddenly Maina has gone hiding, right? Don't ever believe that shyte. They all know where he is. All these are just smoke screens to make the uniformed believe they are on it. Government of crooks. Its amazing how this useless government run by Buhari has suddenly gone from being slightly tolerable to absolutely disgusting and irredeemable within this past few months. |
Abagworo is now Imo1stson ![]() Seem like the outrage following the unveiling of Jacob Zuma's stature by his paymaster got to him too. Surprised he is yet to post pictures of the stature here and claim how its another dividend of democracy to be enjoyed by Imo folks. Ndi iberibe. Ndi oshin. Ndi apari. Ndi ara! |
Now, that's nasty. The poisonous soup didn't even spare their house pets. Like it was on mission to totally annihilate everything the poor family is associated with. Such a mad, sad, cruel world. |
omenka:Did I just witness a miracle?? |
NwaAmaikpe:Really? ![]() If that was the reason he committed suicide, you think he wouldn't have written it in the note he left, Instead of telling his wife and kids that he loved them? |
NoToPile:Nice one! I absolutely agree with you. The church's rule was there, before they went ahead to "fornicate" Sister in the Lord wishes to wed in the church, but wasn't ready to obey the pre-marriage rule. See, I'm not against premarital sex in anyway. But I'm against her terminating the pregnancy just to appear righteous in the eyes of the church. This means she is going to tell a series of lies to the marriage committee to ensure her wedding holds. Why go through all that shyte? You don't need a church to endorse your wedding for you to live happily ever after. My grouse with present day Christians. So much religiosity without any atom of spirituality. |
I don't know to what extent you reassured her about standing with her through hell and high water, come what may. See, love is the strongest emotional force on earth, and the wrath of man or church isn't enough to shake real, deep love. She did wrong by terminating the pregnancy. My fist reaction on reading this was indignation at her action. But then, I reflected a little more, and it occurred to me that you probably didn't do enough to show her that you got her back. You don't know much about the ways of the world and about women. If you did, you would have perceived a red flag when she wanted to visit her sister. You ought to have realized that a sister is more likely going to support her terminating the pregnancy (as opposed to a brother) so you should have discouraged that visit until she becomes more emotionally stable. At this point, no one can give you the best advise as to what next to do. That depends ENTIRELY ON YOU! The both of you are partly to blame. What happens next depends on how real your love for each other is, and how deep your commitment runs. |
saintjoel:Noted. Can I get 2005 to 2007 Pontiac Vibe? |
saintjoel:Thanks for clarifying. I asked that question because you keep repeating your post about buying cars from Cotonou and clearing them through Seme border. "Want to purchase vehicles from Cotonou and clear through land borders, Jelad ventures is your surest link" That's the line you keep reposting, so it makes it seem like the ban didn't affect your activities. That's what got me wondering.... |
HungerBAD:Surprise us for once, and say something intelligent. A hopelessly flawed analysis from you, as usual. It is advisable you just shut it for once. Nothing wrong with military conducting medical outreaches, but everything is wrong with the approach they took. It was tagged "operation crocodile smile", right? And the statement of the mission insisted they are out for a "show of force". First, the mission statement never said anything about bogus medical outreaches. They only claimed to come to enforce peace and eliminate criminals/terrorists/enemies of the state, and whatever else. That's by the way. Secondly, military is not supposed to conduct such outreach without first officially notifying the state governor, who in turn gives a directive to the commissioner for health, who in turn sends a memo to the respective primary health care centers through his subordinates. The healthcare centers in these rural areas will then disseminate the right information to the people, and after duly informed, they will come out for the exercise. [b]Its a no brainer. THERE IS A CHAIN OF COMMAND FOR SUCH THINGS, EXCEPT IN TIMES OF WARFARE, WHEN SPEED AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES ARE THE FIRST CONSIDERATION. [b]You don't wake up one morning to see a military that has always shown contempt and disregard for civilians coming to inject you with an unknown substance, without prior information, and you willingly submit yourself to them! But of course, I don't expect the illiterate at the top to have the flimsiest idea of the procedures. The health services are just an afterthought to launder the military's image, nothing more. PMB still thinks he's running a military regime that would just dictate without following procedure. And folks like you who knows no better come online to asslick. You comparing this with a private business that produced substandard teething mixture responsible for the death of many kids shows how smart you are not. What's the correlation? Was the military involved in anyway? Kindly shove your simple advise up there. ![]() |
happybrother:Where do we go from here? ![]() Or rather, where do we NEED to go from here? The answer to that is as obvious as the problems itself. Its there for any rational person to see. It all boils down to our politics and how every sitting politician wants to perpetuate the status quo, because it encourages indolence. There is no incentive to improve and increase states IGR. The bulk of it goes to Abuja, who in turn decides how to dole it out according to a very flawed system of sharing. See, I have so much to say on this issue. Everyone does. But it's largely a waste of time. It's not acceptable to every sitting politician. One can see from the timeline of events that the military regimes really messed us up, and till this day, they still hold sway....and grooming their offsprings to continue from where they left off. The talk about restructuring, even though the details have not been clearly stated, isn't to their best interests. They know its the logical thing to do, but they are not ready to jettison a system that fills their pockets and their bellies without them breaking a sweat. |
VickyRotex:You're welcome, ma'am. |
VickyRotex:You need to read the book, ma'am. If you were shocked by that statement, the book that narrated the ordeal they went through will certainly bring you to tears. I read the book when I was in high school, way back in the 90s. I'm sure you can get a soft copy online, as I did too. The title of the book is, Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors Author: Piers Paul Reed |
saintjoel:How do you make car purchases and customs clearance now there is a ban doing it across land borders? |
sarrki:Such a twerp. The sort of halfwits these Bubu media clowns employ to defend them online is appalling. Did you read where the military were quick to swallow its own vomit by denying it wasn't the entity who designated IPOB as a terrorist organization in the first place? Your president can't give what he doesn't have. He isn't intelligent by any stretch, so he can't even recruit half decent folks to cover his scrawny ass. You working for him for such pittance to show how inadequately dumb you are online must be giving your parents nightmares. |
Evaberry:Congratulations! You just won the award for the most stvpid comment of the month. |
sarrki:Airhead. First thing you should ask yourself is....what was the nature of those tweets? I guess your primary assignment online, which is asslicking 101, doesn't give much avenue to using your brains. Oops.....I was assuming you had any to begin with. |
dubemcapital:Will the membrane be removed before screeding the ceiling? I'm thinking if its left in place, the plaster for screeding may not stick to well to the ceiling. Correct? |
