He did seemed to be emptying something into the tanker. How it was confirmed to be water is debatable, though. Does he siphon a certain amount of petrol, then replace it with equal amount of water? |
Nice. Really nice. Though only the second photo stirred up a certain part of me. Don't ask me what part |
This practice isn't limited to UNIBEN. In almost every public institution, it is prevalent. The only difference being the price such bed spaces go for. |
Nigeria. Land of negative firsts. I've only seen something similar during an emergency evac. But here, even these "VIPs" have smile on their faces for such great service. |

biggiyke: ![]() I dey enjoy ur story die! I got the feeling it all ended well. Your tone indicates so. Now, tell me where to pick up just a single bottle of orijin. I need to make a toast to your new "baby" |
For those who insist on living in the dark ages, modern technology is here to take advantage of their hypocrisy. As if the men themselves were virgins before marriage. |
The is the sort of situation you allow the person concerned to make her own decision. It's a double edged sword, really. Keeping the pregnancy should be because she finally made up her mind to do so, not because the late boyfriend's family are trying to persuade her. Note that for the rest of her days, the baby will serve as a reminder to this dark period she will rather not remember. The first pregnancy should have made her realize she ought not to take chances, given the way the boyfriend reacted. Condoms are cheap. Common sense is not that common. |
You guys departed from Owerri by 6pm. That means it was a night journey. That people who put any value to their lives still travel at night in this country, is beyond me. This should give you an inkling of what goes on. Why would a sensible driver still travel at night with faulty brakes, carrying over 50 souls on board? Perhaps I'm overreacting. And perhaps you will still go on a night trip after this. It's your life sha. |
FemiFaniKayode:I totally feel you on this one. I have two friends currently residing in the US. Both of them came back to Naija to pick wives. At this moment, both of them are divorced. I can't call this a coincidence. The legal and family system in US does not support the sort of traditional African belief of a fully submissive wife and children. Yes, a discontented wife can set his husband up, and that might have been the case in this instance. But we are not sure. The court had decided, and had given it's verdict. Nothing short of a confession from the wife and daughter that he didn't commit this crime, would set him free. One thing missing is, the defence lawyer could have made the effort to find out what led to the parents changing schools for the girl. the claim was that it was because she was molested. Now, the mother claimed that wasn't the case, but that the school was expensive. If investigation revealed that the mother lied in this instance, it will spoil her credibility with the jury. A very sad period for Mr. Ngene. If the legal system in Naija were this strong and functional, our society would be a much better place. As it is, rapists and pedophiles often get a slap on the wrist and set loose, to look for their next victim. |
If they are aware that this specie of snail slime transmits certain extremely dangerous neurotoxins, they wouldn't be this foolish. They do this because they are aware that some European and Asian beauticians perform it. What they didn't know is that the specie of snails used is totally different. Giant African snails do have poisonous slime that can transmit diseases. |
Seriously, with the scary way the naira is plunging, I hope we are not shaping up to be like Zimbabwe.

A good reason why reputable firms do background checks on employees. especially keeping a record of friends, family and relatives of the person in question. This helps to track a suspect in such situations. |
sonOfLucifer: ![]() Your post aptly captures the mood of any sane person to that policeman's reaction. At least, it made me laugh at another man's folly. |

I just felt sick reading this. Hope this world has not really gone insane. My heartfelt prayers for their safe return. |
Honestly, there's something wrong with almost everyone and everything in this country. First: What is the purpose of this gathering, to converge at the bridge? At least the purpose of their initial protests has been achieved. Second: Why does the military keep shooting to death unarmed civilians? Haven't they learned anything from recent misdeeds? Third: Has the police force become redundant, that soldiers now perform law enforcement duties? I'm just tired of this country. Absolutely no regard for the sanctity of human life! |
Na dem first look for trouble, na dem still first look for settlement. At first I was rooting for these "peaceful" religious folks. I felt that the undisciplined men of the Nigerian army were just trigger happy and itching to waste lives....until I watched the video of the confrontation between both parties and how the military begged to be allowed a free passage on a public road. After all the pleading and threats, the Muslim mob didn't relent. Although I feel the deadly force applied on them was an overkill, but if those soldiers weren't well armed, I'm pretty certain there would have been some casualties on their side. This religion is just too damn violent. Why isn't there peace wherever they are found? They are either killing or being killed. |
RickRichards:Real fvcking stup!d Seem like every dead head is focused on how to pull off extraordinary marriage proposal stunt, and not concerned about how to make the marriage last. |
The train of the anti-corruption probe will hit you soon, hopefully. |
This should make some policemen who are part time fishermen happy. Hope the boats and choppers will still be in action five years from now. |
The photo shoots look like they put too much effort into it, and this achieved the opposite of it's intended effect. It should have looked effortless, loosely and naturally handled in a way that would make you not even try to pick out faults. The costumes and make-up tried too hard to impress. She came off looking like lady Fiona at her possible best as a result of that. |
Was curious to know if that contraption could fly. The poster didn't care to share the man's interview to that extent. He referred interested parties to visit his blog to find out. |
Let's just state the obvious thing: There is no respect for human life in Nigeria. Hundreds die each day needlessly. I watched the Army spokesman interviewed on Channels TV this morning. When asked what weapons the alleged attackers wielded, he replied: "Machetes, stones and catapults were the least weapons they had." When asked what are the deadliest weapons you observed? His reply: "Petrol bombs" No mention of guns! So, why would trained, and well armed men resort to shooting to death civilians armed with such? They could at least shoot to incapacitate, rather than kill. The army already know there won't be any backlash from killing as many "unruly" crowd as it can. Human life holds no more value in this land. This is the reason a policeman shoots and kill civilians in cold blood all the time. No repercussion ever results from such wanton destruction of life. |
Would love to see this comment from El Rufai widely circulated and reproduced on every social media as much as possible. Perhaps he would be forced to take a position. Or, is he waiting for Bubu to make official statement first? Bubu's military has slaughtered many of Zakzaki's people, even Jonathan's efforts seem like child's play. Yet, the annoying midget hasn't uttered a word. Same comment he made about Fulani herdsmen being victimized, when actually, they are the aggressors. |
Disaster striking everywhere. No surprise he doesn't have a fighter extinguisher handy before the flame got this intense. |
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8......................... 17! Guy, you don hammer! ![]() |
The African spirit! We have to build and realize our own dreams somehow. |
This makes me recall that wise saying: "When one finger touches palm oil, the entire hand gets stained by it." When PMB was shopping for made in heaven ministers and aides whose hands are spotlessly clean, he already had an idea of what would happen when these series of probes goes deep and wide. He didn't want to be pronounced "guilty by association" You see, this fight against corruption can only go so far. It will be almost impossible to find any high placed officials who this sleaze will not implicate in one way or the other in the long run. The judiciary is so weak. The hands of the anti-corruption agency is tied. There are people still regarded as sacred cows (e.g. Sanusi) The anti-corruption war is so multifaceted, it is becoming cumbersome. If, by the first quarter of 2016 there is still no conviction, then I'm afraid there won't be any. The charade has gotten boring already. |
As it is now, it's time to keep screwdrivers, penknives, scissors and even a small bottle of conc. acid with you. The situation of things in the country demands it. Since security is almost non existent, you have to secure yourself and be alert at all times. Have you guys noticed that money hasn't been easy to come by like it used to? Seriously, the sort of loose cash that flows from the top of the food chain, till it reaches the masses in trickles no longer comes by. This is making the crime wave in the country unprecedented. And it may likely get worse. If you clutch a long, nasty looking screwdriver in your fist, with a mean expression on your face, a potential criminal would think think twice before making a move at you... ![]() |
