Nice to see some heart warming news coming from First Consultant Hospital after that nightmarish Ebola episode. Let's make more babies, people! Let's make love, not war! |
masquellett:For real o. We just got the news about an escaped lion getting "murdered" by security operatives-for nothing! Many people don't seem concerned about the rate at which snakes are getting murdered around here. Hope coming generations won't get to learn that snakes became extinct, just like dinosaurs. |
Her post: "My husband does not have a violent bone in his body....he is the sweetest man on planet earth" Now she would ask herself what she was thinking when she made that comment. Would love to see the expression on Beverly Osu's face right this moment ![]() |
Here we go again. There goes our minister of "visitation" + minister of petroleum resources+President. We will just wait for his press release from SA. We got used to finding out what our Bubu wants to tell us via foreign correspondents of the countries he's visiting. |
Is this even a question? A baby isn't born until the ENTIRE body is outside of the womb. |
Unless you got better evidence than this, I don't agree with the "caught" part. Caught doing what nah? The convo up there doesn't implicate the lady in anyway. I admire the coolness in her response to the colleague's insecure wife. If it's just this screen grabs the offended planned to take to that office as evidence, she will only end up embarrassing herself and her husband. I'm not arguing that the NYSC girl is totally innocent here. Just that the evidence produced doesn't show her to be guilty at this time. |
PassingShot:Bro, whether court injunctions are cheap or not, isn't the issue. What scares me is the rate at which court orders are totally disregarded by individuals and institutions in this country. Think about it. If court orders are treated with such contempt by all and sundry, where does that leave us? Sincerely, this is one of the top pointers to a failed government and country. What hope for justice does the average man on the street have, if whatever sort of ruling a constituted authority such as a law court gives him, is totally disregarded? I know absolutely nothing about this case, and I'm not really interested in it's details. But the way no one seem to give a hoot about our law courts anymore is worrisome. We are living in a jungle now. You may not have really weighed the implication of such a thing. |
iliyande:I don't understand the way certain people reasons. You gave a press statement that the bombing wasn't by BH, that you know the people behind it. Even after BH had confirmed that it's their handiwork, you insisted it's not, BUT FAILED TO MENTION THE PEOPLE YOU BELIEVE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT! What then is the purpose of issuing this statement? He still went ahead to say "Now they are targeting the mass entry into Zaria..." Who the hell is "They" Is he just trying to exonerate his muslim "brothers" in In a sane society, this man ought to be detained for questioning. But, of course, this can never happen. Our society, our country, is far from being sane. Everything is wrong here. Only in our society that stupid things such as this frequently occur, and we take them as normal. |
That isn't a mother. More like a lunatic on the loose. How big did she expect the penis of a three year old to be? And the part about attracting stares from adults? Is she implying sexual attraction? Even from herself, the mother? Something is terribly wrong with her. |
Though it may appear funny, people could exhibit irrational attitude when their vehicle gets involved in a crash. When you witness the "I big pass" you mentality of many guys when trying to resolve whose fault it was after a crash occurred, you'd think their car means more to them than life itself. |
spyder880:Where there is a resolute will, obstacles must give way...and produce a way! Behold, the road that leads to the first Royal Palms Estate is getting built. The road where conquerors and champions shall thread for centuries to come! This is a historical moment. If it were our politicians, they would have built a plaque first, to commemorate the occasion before any actual work. You are doing great, Spyder880. December 1st, 2015 should be noted. Onward forever! |
Makes a lot of sense! That last suicide bomber in Kano, the one whose head and shoulders were severed and flung away from the rest of his body by the blast.... Now, imagine the chagrin of his mates if a pig had been brought right there to piss into his grinning mouth. That would have been poetic justice! Next, let the pigs chew on it, and shyte on it. Stuff the pig's shyte into his mouth before burying or disposing of the remains. There's no need to kill the innocent pig and bury it with a worthless fellow. In another instance, some of the pig's blood could be extracted and injected into the virgin hunter's remains. In death, their carcass is much worthless than a pig. |
The reason why many rapists have been getting off the hook is because we have terribly weakened institutions. Normally, the police is the first port of call for rape cases. Where policemen can be bought with a few thousand naira, and they quickly release the offender, or where police would refer to it as "family issue" (in cases where the rape occurred between relatives or close family friends) and tell the victim and perp to settle it "amicably" at home. Next port being the law courts are not any better. Justice can be bought and subverted. Our judiciary is so slow and cumbersome, such that even a clear cut, slam and dunk case would be left to drag for months on end without a resolution in sight. The recent case of a LASU lecturer that got convicted and jailed is a drop in the ocean compared with the countless rape cases begging for justice. Anyone with a fragment of political power in Naija can get away with rape, when even a hint of such a crime is enough to ruin his career for life in civilized societies. When you hear about a rape or an alleged rape case, and in the next few weeks, you got the information that the rapist was sentenced to some years in prison, then most people will think twice before unleashing their weapon even when the sex act is consensual. |
Farnsworth:True. However, as it is presently, Africa doesn't seem to need the help of UK government (or any other government) to destroy itself. We got lame-ass, corrupt and incompetent political leaders to do that for us. The influence of foreign governments has reduced to a reasonable extent in recent times. What our politicians do is loot the treasury and hide it in foreign banks, and invest in their real estates. In other words, why would foreign governments bother to steal from us anymore, when all they need to do is fold their arms and wait for our "leaders" to bring the loot to them? |
Cool. Great news! Now Lawal is all smiles. Ek'aabo, baba Lawal. Did he wander away by himself, or he got abducted? I could bring a goat to celebrate with his folks. Peppersoup and some bottles of Orijin will do nicely. |
Only fools will believe they are single. They all have men in secret "oiling thier engine"[/Read again. The article isn't talking about those who gets their engine oiled regularly. No one is arguing that. It's talking about those who are not Legally married. That still makes them single, doesn't it? When they are filling official documents, in the column asking about marital status, what do you think they will write in it? Now, are those who believe they are single still fools, or is it somebody else? |
This sort of shoddy reporting raises more questions than answers. The unrelated picture you added to it makes it even more baffling, because I'm pretty sure the men arrested were not dressed that way. Abuja hasn't become the drags capital of the world...at least, not yet. The report didn't specify if the arrested men were servicing other males, or if they were patronized by females, or both. I'm sure you added the picture to make it appear like the arrested men are gays. If 3,500 cross-dressing men like you tried to suggest got arrested in Abuja within a short period of time, then we are in deep shyte. I chose not to believe this is the case. |
What we are looking at here, is another photo op. Nothing more. They are just going through the motions. Even the report mentioned nothing concrete. |
Seriously, I don't think we should hope for any reforms in this country. Where in the entire planet is this sort of practice accepted as normal? Where police and military personnel get arrested for using the BRT lane, SACRED COWS whose owners and grand patrons own the country gets a free pass. We get terrorized in the rural areas, and now, we aren't also allowed a smooth traffic in the cities. Aren't they supposed to transport these animals via trucks? What manner of lawless jungle is this country, anyway? Let's admit it. The country belong to these cattle herders. The rest of us are mere vassals. |
There's a certain level of credibility to this threat, and that's because it's coming from the Professor Alexia Thomas. Would have dismissed it if it were to be coming from any of our bribe seeking, semi literate government officials. We should ask what steps has Nigerian government taken to address the issue? Messed up country with it's messed up government and it's messed up policies. Actually, the Nigerian government hasn't got a clear cut foreign policy. Where any exists, it's officials can't follow or back it up. As seen in the report, their strongest quality lies in accepting bribes. |
![]() From your reaction, it seem you are not used to the sight of a modern or clean toilet. What is strange or unusual about the pictures you posted? What do you want people to imagine? |
A policeman along the way would see them, and won't even bat an eyelid. If there is a regulation against such a dangerous action, there isn't any enforcement. These men would even take offense if anyone reprimands them for this. They will say it's their life, and it should be nobody's business. |
The side attraction sure looks better than whatever's happening onstage. |
@ HungerBAD: Such violence isn't limited to people from a certain or any part of the country as you stated. Domestic violence has got no tribal coloration. Let's be objective. For women who still feel that their man would change... that somehow, he would suddenly quit being a beast and stop using her as a punching bag, well, it usually doesn't turn out that way. Men who beat up their wives usually never stop, until a fatality results. This one is lucky to escape with just a partly missing earlobe. The sad thing is by January, this dude will tell her that his new year's resolution is to stop being violent with her. She would believe this and move back in with him. Pity. |
The version about the explosion being caused by weathering is most plausible. It's also possible it could be from actual explosion from dynamites placed by illegal miners to blast part of the rock. As for the village head who insists the rock demands for a sacrifice, what's keeping him from purchasing cows and goats for that purpose? The problem is, government won't make much effort to find out what caused it. Everyone will offer theories, but none is willing to confirm which is correct. |
I think I understand the proverbWhen your hand has oil (goodies or sweetness) on it, people will join you to lick it. In other words, like one old school Naija music from the 80s went: "when the going is smooth and good, many many people will be your friend". Right on the mark ![]() All of GEJ's yansh lickers had long since taken a hike; he's no longer a "happening" guy. Chei. That's life. When he was the top dog, his aides, hangers-on, yansh lickers, praise singers, eye servants and back scratchers would all struggle to take out full page ads on national dailies to congratulate him on such occasions, and to let him know how they are "strongly" behind him. Today, he's got only Mama Peace to help scratch his back...and that's only if she's in the mood. ![]() |
I find this a little hard to believe... But then, if this report is true, how could he seriously think that a few months is enough for his messiah to perform the miracle of transformation, or the "change" Bubu promised? Nah, I can't sympathize with this one. Even Bubu won't show any sympathy either. |
ViNeHaNds:. Bunch of rubbish! So, you mean the small, portable generators emit more pollutants than the bigger, petrol powered ones that were not banned? The bigger generators don't emit pollutants too? How did you come to this conclusion? Also advocating for bans on tricycles...are you insinuating that tricycles emit more carbon that cars, vans, buses and trucks? Someone woke up this morning and posted unsubstantiated and imaginary rants, and a mod who doesn't know any better brought it to the front page. Way to go! In a rotten economy where unemployment is at it's highest, where epileptic power supply doesn't encourage small businesses, and the government came up with this policy...and you justify it by claiming that smaller generators emit more pollutants than bigger ones! Well, you deserve the sort of government you have. Explain to struggling hair dressers, barbers, football viewing center operators, business center operators, mobile POS operators, football betting operators, and the millions of poor rural dwellers who are not connected to the national grid that your government want them to purchase bigger generators so they can live healthier lives. |
Orikinla:Have you noticed the proliferation of commercial okada riders of northern origin in Lagos and neighbouring states? Fact is, if the terrorists choose to set off explosions and suicide bombings around these places, there's very little impediment. What they have to decide is, if such a move would be beneficial to their cause or not. As it is, most parts of the country are vulnerable to attacks. |
Good day, Spyder880. I see 5" (or 6"?) solid blocks in the pics above. Are they going to be used for this building, or fence, perhaps? |
Does anyone still wonder why a section of this country fondly refer to it as a zoo? In naija, anything goes. |
