They told me I will be gone for a whole straight year to South Korea without any break, this was when my daughter was just few weeks old.

Very interesting question.. I will never forget that year in a hurry. Still hurt till today but I believe God spared my life for something bigger. That is the only way I consoled myself.

I don't know which index you people are using but I know that food items are all time high since I was born in this Nigeria.. Prices of food has skyrocketed even in the North where we believe the food items are coming from.

I live 5 minutes from the market...I walk there every evening to buy fruits and to sometimes charge my phone. The boy I charge my phone with is a Hausa guy...he owns a small shop there, and from the way he speaks fluent Yoruba, I would say he was born there. Those guys have been there for decades now and their kids have integrated with the indigenes. It's so sad this had to happen.

And about what really happened, I really don't know...I have heard 10 different versions of the story, I don't even know who to believe. I wish I could see that boy and get his own version of the story. What people don't know is that Hausa shops were burnt (hundreds of baskets of Onions wasted), and Yoruba shops were burnt too. Who started the burning? Who started the fight? That is what I really want to know.

I would be happy if you can update us with the actual event, I heard from someone very close to me that she was at the market on Friday morning when the fight broke out but she mentioned that there had been an unsolved issues related to an hausa man making trouble with a yoruba pregnant woman and hitting a yoruba man that intervened with charm the previous day. She said the news of the death of the Yoruba man was what triggered the fight. That was her account of the event.

This is the ONLY eye witness account I have heard from someone present during the fight, I am still looking for someone to corroborate the account because I keep asking people what actually caused the fight. I was at shasha in Dec and the peace I witnessed between Hausa and Yoruba people was second to non.

Can anyone give an eye witness account of what really caused this fight please... because I know both Yoruba & Hausa to be peace loving.

There are lots of foolish people everywhere, be very careful what you do to these people. Hausas have lived peacefully in Ibadan city for many years, in fact I grew up to know them in Sabo/mokola, sasa, ojoo even challenge. So why now, dont act foolishly, this people have not done anything to deserve this. Hausa are generally peace loving people, but there are always louts in every tribe..

Let us be guided please.
