Getting the two OPVs does not necessarily stop the frigate program. The CNS wants it and I don't see how frigate can be substituted for OPVs.

If you understand demographic transition, you won't be bothering yourself advocating to some people to reduce the number of children they are giving birth to. Let them continue giving birth, they will learn the hard way. Apart from insecurity, these people also diein enormous from diseases and other hazards. It is a normal phase of development, you don't have to force them to change, they will realize it themselves. The number of communities that are currently abandoned in the North due to insecurity is mindblowing. The population will reduce gradually then they will born a lot of children again for another future disaster to kill, when they are tired, they will think.


Anywhere there is high birth rate, there is bound to be high death rate except at the mid-developmental phase when death rate starts decreasing for some time before birth rate also starts decreasing.

All you are seeing is well orchestrated drama to make the handing over of Afghanistan to talibans seem like it wasn't planned.

There is a reason Russia and China have been increasing diplomatic relations with the talibans for some time now, they will also not be closing their embassies in Kabul, it's because they've known all along. They want us to believe the ANA doesn't even have loyal fighters in Kabul willing to defend the government. No pictures of destroyed weapons, no aircraft shot down, they were all captured on the ground. And the talibans are playing their own part well too, up till this moment, there hasn't been any reports of atrocities or crimes committed by the talibans, they are even warning that should anyone loot, steal or rape in the provinces they've captured, justice will be served on the spot.
Like I said earlier, it's only a matter of time before countries start establishing relationships with the Talibans.
I'm sure there will be groups showing their willingness to fight the talibans to the Americans if US could offer support......

I'm sure the NAF would have located the site of the crash, especially with the numbers of JAS fighters surrendering. Remember it was shekau's faction that released video of the crash site, some of those surrendering would definitely have info about it. NAF might have just decided to be quiet about it.

It's one thing to capture/own a helicopter and another thing entirely to be able to operate /fly it.

It is only a matter of time before afghan military personnels including pilots start joining the ranks of the talibans. They were the government in Afghanistan for a long time and it will be easy for people to accept them as such again. In fact some of the things discussed in US dialogue with them in Qatar is to see if they can form a coalition between the national government and Taliban, everyone knew the government would collapse and the only hope is to make a unity government.
The US will not go back into Afghanistan and neither will any other NATO country, it is only a matter of time before governments start normalizing relations with the Taliban.
And then, it is believed the talibans have friends in various governments across the world, it won't be too difficult to train their fighters on how to use many of these equipments.
Most important thing is that they don't even need these equipment to capture the country, it is sufficient for them to deny the ANA the use of such weapons.


When US and NATO invaded Afghanistan in 2001, the strategy of the talibans was to lay low until the exit of the coalition. They knew that no matter how long the coalition stayed behind in Afghanistan, they would eventually leave one day.

My questions is how did Pak do all these and not only did they get away from it, they also got billions of dollars in US funding, have not been blacklisted and have good diplomatic relations with the western countries that were affected by their actions. Pak must be very important to the West or at least have a great leverage against them to have pulled a stunt like that and get away with it.

There is a Sahara reporter article on front page about the three Israeli citizens arrested by DSS in connection with IPOB and I can't but wonder how stupid Sahara reporters and those guys think Nigerians are.

Lol, accepting the surrenders of the terrorists and opening a corridor for more to keep surrendering to the government is one of the best decisions this administration has made so far. How long do you think it will take before all the terrorists are killed if we keep killing them? The military command should be using information gotten from them to replan and restrategize the counterinsurgency plan.
For example, the IED expert should be made to build an IED in front of NA's sappers and engineering officers so as to provide them an opportunity to know how best they can counter the IEDs.

Yes, I chose to focus on these disgusting and excruciating acts of Nigerians because they are extremely painful and it hurts. It hurts to see how multiple lives are being ruined by the greed of few. Some civil servants even connived with private companies to build useless structures that the country will continue to renovate several years to come just so they can keep benefiting from cash allocated for the recurrent renovations

Some people not only stole public funds while in office, stole money kept in banks by the masses by obtaining loans without collateral that they never paid back(reasons why many banks collapsed with people's life savings vanishing), they also made sure that they would continue stealing for many years to come by using their positions to sign fraudulent contracts.


One of such companies even sued the government based on one of the ridiculous terms in the contract, made sure the Antorney-general defended with little efforts and they walked away with $70 million

One wonders why reforms are extremely difficult in Nigeria the answer is simple; past administrations, public office holders and civil servants already signed thousands of fraudulent contracts that have no time limits and are almost impossible to breach or terminate except the country is ready to forfeit her properties across the world.
One of such contract is the sunrise mambilla hydropower project in which a company walked away with $200 million doing nothing because government terminated the contract they were in no position to implement in the first instance but was fraudulently awarded to them by corrupt Nigerians. Another is the PW&C case.
The link below details how the immigration service won't be fruitful in a very long time from now. They basically use 80% of revenues generated to pay bills from fraudulent contracts that they cannot terminate without international legal issues.

Lots of JAS fighters surrendering to my Brigade. I heard some JAS commanders showed up this morning with lots of weaponry and Guntrucks.

Tho my Soldier guys said JAS and ISWAP alliance didn’t work out smoothly. That some attacks they carried out as a United group, ISWAP pushed them to the front. The Military especially in the Damboa attack killed mostly JAS members whom ISWAP used as Pawns.

Most JAS guys felt they are not factored in the scheme of things during the Unholy alliance.

Need of moment is to stop/clear the free inter island movement and use of sea routes by the actors

From what little i know the numerous islands and the outlying waters must 1st be secured / cleared of actors on a priority basis

Then the actors will be limited onto the mainland, than land based ops will yield the desired results

When Mozambique hosted the African Union summit in 2003 and the World Economic Forum meeting in 2004 Indi.an navy provided security for the same .

If Mozambique requests than same can be done to secure the sea side of the affected regions

You don't get the point, those weapons were definitely recovered from criminals whether from the boy or not, the weapons and other evidence suggests that much of those the police have been apprehending are criminals, and it was in relation to the 80% statistics he quoted. Let's be professional and remove sentiments from this things, anyone can claim innocence doesn't mean the person is indeed innocent.

No doubt some of those arrested are innocent, but you should also be wary of stuffs like this. The post does not in any way prove the guy's innocence and could well be eye service to garner sympathy.
The guns and other weapons are gotten from where?

Continued influx of drugs into the country is one of the major driving force of insecurity and increasing crime rates. The drug epidemic was left unchecked for a long time and it has now manifested into what we are seeing now. Most of the armed groups in the country can't do without their drug suppliers. Unfortunately, we don't have functioning borders & DEA in the country.

Who can Identify the vehicle in the background? The one in camouflage.

Three things can lead to this.

1) Military operation
2) JAS members not fully integrated sending their families to safe zone.
3) Increase in Communicable disease as we are in the rainy season

Some are also surrendering to Nigerian and Cameroonian authorities.
I pray it's the second reason and it festers into conflict that will bring about large casualties, or the third sef.

The military should go for MI-26 then

Just put two armoured helicopters armed with gpmgs or Hmgs to chase the remnants that are fleeing and insert ground troops to finish up the wounded, take their weapons and ammo, search for the hidden ones, burn the entire camp and extract.

Better still, surround the camp in a way that no one can leave, bombard with artilleries and airstrike for as long as possible until they are extremely weakened, then move in and finish them off....... A classic siege

Do this for a few camps and I promise you, most of the bandits won't have courage to set up camps.

There was a massive operation in Kaduna yesterday. Alpha jets, Bell and attack helo.

They should start including clearance operations in these missions, many of the bandits would have escaped and would return to their bases after the operation. While fleeing from air assaults, the bandits will abandon supplies, arms and ammunitions, those things shouldn't just be left there for the terrorists to come back to recover.
Often, locals have reported seeing bandits flee on highways from air operations, just setting up fighting patrols and checkpoints across highways close to the terrorist bases will significantly increase their casualties. It will also prevent the bandits from ressuplying their bases. What bokoharam is doing to the highways leading to Maiduguri is what the army is supposed to be doing to the bases of terrorist and bandits alike.

Okay, Firstly Nigerian air force doesn't use single engine helicopters, especially for attack helicopters, and only modern cobras are 2 engines, the viper and venom, secondly only modern cobras use apkws, and we want to order 2000 apkws, the only order option, that is single engine and can fire apkws, and is old is used by the Jordanian air force, and it has been upgraded to the standard of modern cobras, only that it's on an old airframe.....and the Jordanians are in the process of retiring their cobras and even sold some, only that the ones sold were not the upgraded ones.

Could it be, that it's the upgraded Jordanian cobras, we want to buy? Because i don't see Nigeria buying tokunbo cobras without glass cockpit and modern sighting systems.

Also the price range is within the limit of what other countries are bidding or have paid for similar Quantities.

Lai Mohammed is a member of the federal executive council, ordinarily he should be more aware of any such deal more than the national assembly unless this was supposed to be a secret deal or maybe Lai Mohammed is doing his thing.
Unless the national assembly was notified of the deal by the executive branch of government or they had a more detailed version of the supplementary budget, I do not see how they should know more than Lai Mohammed.
