sunkoye:Show me any part of our laws that allow a president to arrest anyone. This is democracy and all powers are well defined |
Childish tantrums everywhere, these people should start governing and spare us their unproductive wrangling. When things don't go their way they weep up tribal sentiment, thank God there is no more GEJ to blame for their inadequacies |
The only part of the tale that's of interest to me is where they alleged that the president ordered the arrest of his in-law for extortion. Where does he derive the power to order the arrest of any Nigerian? He can order an investigation, free from his influence, of any alleged crime but to order an arrest is beyond his constitutional powers |
The soaked loaf finally got the attention he craved, he must have felt abandoned and neglected since inauguration, hopefully some crumbs would be thrown his way to keep him happy. So he expected friendly phone calls and response from aides to the last regime when his opinion and stands were obviously partisan and sometimes aimed at deliberate mischief. He should read Adesina's response to Mettuh's jab yesterday and tell us how friendly that was. But for the public outcry, AIT reporters would still have been prevented from covering presidential activities till now. Just yesterday it was reported that a correspondent to a German newspaper had his Aso Rock accreditation withdrawn for asking inappropriate questions. Let's see how friendly the aides would remain with persistent Criticism of their principal in months and years to come |
Does it take any ingenuity to sack? Any fool in power can sack and appoint, what we want to see are concrete, transparent steps taken to achieve defined goals. Let the govt tell us where the sacked board has gone wrong and how they intend improving on the areas they have been found wanting. Sacking people just to appease and titillate their disgruntled supporters baying for blood helps no one in the long run |
Our our modern day NERO keeps tending to his cows, gallivanting round the world and serenading us with pictures taken during fridays Jumat services even as Nigeria slides ruderlessly into a state of anarchy. Baba while we wait for you to catch real and imaginary thieves, pls note that Boko haram still murder hundreds of innocent Nigerians Fuel subsidy for the month of july is estimated at 57b naira Armed robbers are becoming more daring and ruthless States are owing workers many months in salary arrears Nigerian police , customs , immigration are still extorting money from hapless nigerians There are myriads of problems that needs govt intervention and your excuses for inaction are becoming nauseating |
The president looks like a man held hostage by his own lack of ideas on how to move the nation forward, his party stalwarts, those who bankrolled his campaign and the northern hegomonist. A president that should have seized the advantage of the enormous goodwill that led to his victory by rolling out beneficial but sustainable programs with logical road maps on how to bring it to fruition has done nothing but dampen our enthusiasm, frontloading all manner of excuses as alibi for his inertia and eventual non performance in the long run. |
The cane used in flogging the first wife is always kept handy in case its needed for the second and all subsequent wives, so says our fathers. Propaganda, blackmail and demonisation were tools effectively deployed by Apc against the ruling party in their virulent quest for power, I have no doubt the same weapons will be used for the intra party jostling for political advantages |
NewNigeriaMind:Educate me? I think you overestimated you own understanding. Of What benefit is to me as a Nigerian if Lawan or Gbaja eventually becomes the SP/speaker of HOR? The constitution specifically states that the members of the national assembly, not the party , shall elect the leaders of the house amongst themselves . This presupposes that external interference is an aberration. In which other clime with stable democracy do you hear of political parties exercising an overbearing influence on the elected representatives of the people. In places like United states, you hardly ever hear about party officials, once the election period is over they recede to the background |
If you spend 90yrs rehearsing for madness, how many more years do you have left to fully display the malady? As a Nigerian I care less about all these intrigues for positions that adds nothing to the quality of governance. As things stands now, two months of legislative year is already wasted, that's 25b of the budgeted 150b naira needlessly flushed down the drain . For how long are we going to be detained by the bruised ego of Tinubu and other aggrieved APC leaders? |
The prey devoured the predator |
Yea, we need a special office and special care for the FIRST COWS, especially now that We've jettisoned the office of the First Lady |
Two people engaged in an exclusive conversation can't both be victims of the lies inherent in the gist, if the listener buys the lie, the liar should know he is a liar. Let me see how they explain away the four years of unconscionable lies they've told Nigerians |
Power is the most potent aphrodisiac in the world, the lust for power is more dangerous than lust for money. |
ICONgold:The article says "it will save the president the hassles of traveling by road from katsina airport". That simply mean he would take the jet to Katsina then travel by helicopter to Daura |
From an almost empty treasury, the 2 man federal executive council awarded the contract for the construction of a helipad in Daura. Was the expenditure captured in the year's budget or the Tyrant just spending our money capriciously? |
All these sore losers should start a religious sect and name their devotional hymn LAMENTATION. They should tell us one modern democracy where elected legislators are always forced or blackmailed into toeing party lines . In places like America , positions of party chairmen and other party officers are considered so insignificant that you hardly even know their names. APC must realise that Nigerians did not elect any of the party bigwigs and therefore they are not accountable to us. Those we elect must be seen to be acting on our behalf independent of any untoward influence by some self serving party Godfathers. Every senator/hor member represents a constituency and the interest of that constituency is far more superior to the interest of the party they belong to, so all the noise about party supremacy is nothing but self serving subterfuge by some unelected fat cats to Continue milking the system through proxies |
From an empty treasury? Buhari is a miracle worker |
The headline read " DSS screen Amaechi as the ad secretary to the fed govt" and in the second to the last paragraph, we are told that "Barely (sic) any last minute development, Amaechi will be announced as the NEW CHIEF OF STAFF to the fed govt" Now how do we reconcile the two? I think someone needs a psychiatrist. They just wake up from their troubled sleep and start disseminating poo to the public |
A certain captain Sagir entertained us with unsavory allegations about how Fayose and some ministers in the last administration in connivance with the military rigged the election that ushered in the Fayose administration in Ekiti state. He was variously interviewed by Sahara reporters from his hiding and he made serious allegations of harassment and threat to his life. Since we have a new govt in place and one that should be able to offer him protection, he should by now be out of hiding to offer us substantiation for his weighty allegations. The deafening silence by APC and many baying for blood in the past is also worrisome, was the whole hoopla a political blackmail afterall ? Where is captain Sagir? |
The directionless Daura tyrant won't allow the governors to nominate his cabinet members but expects the National assembly, the most important arm in any democracy, to kowtow to the whims of state governors in their choice of officers |
Tecnonews24:Most, especially the young ones have been mentally arrested by Tinubu and have been psychologically detained for the last 16yrs. They get high on empty sloganeering instead of demanding for their rights |
If this is the criteria for assessment, kindly put up the pictures of Tinubu, Fashola, Aregbe and Akande beside his so we know how Lagos and Osun have been governed in the last 16yrs |
Why do we give credence to this imperialist organization with the sole aim of distracting us from decimating the marauders killing and despoiling our land. They should be in Yemen, Libya , Iraq, Syria and all other places where Islamists have turned a large swathe of captured land to killing fields. I am not sure they have enough personnel to detail for the world the atrocities American soldiers committed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Until we see the likes of George Bush standing trial at ICC for war crimes , then I will suggest we ignore the blackmail by AI and similar organizations |
A poorly plagiarized lamentation by the OP. I am more concerned about the calibre of people being considered as our next set of ministers. We dine with adulterers, sleep with prostitutes, eulogize corrupt politicians , worship depraved men of God who live large from proceeds of tithes and offerings extorted from their largely poor but seriously indoctrinated congregation and with our false sense of moral superiority think we can condemn the union of two consenting adults in other climes |
oduastates:You really cracked me up Bros hahahahahaha people who should be praying for a better Nigeria that would guarantee them a better life |
A month into the tenure of this new govt and the entire executive arm of govt comprise of the president, the vice president, two presidential spokesperson and a photographer. It's no surprise therefore that we are daily fed with mundane news and what in other serious climes would be considered inanities. Nigeria is a secular country so why are we being inundated about the president's preference of venue for his Jumat service? Of what concern is it to me as a Nigerian if he decides to observe the Jumat in his bedroom. All these populist posturing without substance would soon wear out even his most ardent supporters if he does not role up his sleeves and start delivering on some of his campaign promises. |
persius555:So before he created humans, was he aware some of His creations were going to have high propensity for evil deeds? Did he give them free will knowing they are going to abuse it? And if so, what could be his motive for creating imperfect humans and still insisting on punishing them in the hereafter for their imperfections. |
persius555:So who created these monsters on killing spree in the middle East? |
AustineE1:I don't know how much of our will is free if he knew everything about us, including every of our actions here on earth even before we were created. I have no theory or dogma about the existence or non existence of God but my mind is open to new convincing ideas that may help in my quest for truth. |
How can a Perfect God create these monsters, how can we claim he is Omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient and yet he folds his arms and watch his beloved children wantonly killed by mere mortals? Many say his ways are mysterious, I am still at a loss as to what that means. Does it mean he can intervene but chose not to? My carnal mind would never accord a modicum of respect to a father who sat by comfortably and watches people inflict unimaginable punishment on his "beloved" son when he has all it takes to prevent/protect him |
Tuned in about twice, its obvious the anchor is a psychopathic megalomaniac spewing incoherent hateful tirades . The sad part is knowing some seeming sane people actually believe in his hateful message |
