Snazzygirl: I use Zenith too, and it works just fine. You don't have to get a token to swipe your card. Token is majorly for internet banking transactions like bank transfer. You just need to make sure you swipe your card at one of the major retailers. Not all POS accept international cards, but 95% of the major retailers with lots of stores do. BTW, you coming to Omaha?? School? grin
Are u in Omaha? Not seeing any naija here o. I dey UNMC smiley we can hook up and grab a beer if u in town cool

MsNas: My own works perfectly at Kroger and Walmart. I was tryna look for a solution for him, cos he said his Zenith Bank card doesn't work at Walmart and I'm not sure of they have a Kroger where he lives
I just went to bakers now, same story.I'm not sure if its a Kroger subsidiary.I just tire. Any swiping that requires inputting my pin doesn't work. That bank no try at all, couldn't get PTA for travel from them. Had to go to another.

MsNas: Western Union ke? Do you guys have a walmart around there? If yes, go there and walk to Walmart Money Center, tell them you wanna buy money order. You can use your card there. I'm aware that some stores like "Harp's" only accept cash for Money orders. But I'm sure Walmart and Kroger accept card for money order.

Go to walmart, bro.
That Walmart money ordet thingy didn't work with my zenith bank mastercard but I swipe d card for other things. Is there any other way? I just tire for naija banks. They even blocked my card after I started swiping, had to call them b4 it was unblocked. I really need my money angry

imperiouxx: I was never a minister but I'm trying to help others in a way I could like every other races in the US.

The Indians and Chinese will always stay ahead of the Nigerians in the US.

They don't joke with the simplest information they get from one another and they listen attentively to those who have been in the system. This makes life easier for them but the Nigerians are scatter everywhere with different kind of predicaments.

The US visa is like an invitation to the river to fish, it won't teach how to set hook and line and start fishing.

You only learn how to fish better by either looking at others doing it or listen to others who have done it.

Surviving in the US goes beyond obtaining that ordinary visa..... It's people...... the right set of people.

MsNas: Please don't even quote JP Clark! You started living in Ibadan when? '08? I was BORN there. 70-80% of which people? So just 20-30% of the rest of the Ibadan populace live in Alakia, Samonda, Old Bodija, New Bodija, Apata, Ring Road, Oke-Ado, Oluyole Estate and Extension, Gbagi, Iyana Church, Airport, NNPC, Mokola, Sango, Bashorun, Agodi-Gate, Iwo -Road, Idi-Ape, Odo-Ona, Ologuneru, Eleyele? I can go on and on. How many places have you been to in Ibadan? How many people do you know in Ibadan? Please set your sentiments asides and don't talk what you don't know. I respect you more than that.
Okay o,I don surrender grin grin Even Lagos the megacity has two-thirds of its population living in slums. Some of the places you've mentioned have slums attached.

Visa applicant lands in police net after boyfriend helped forge visas

July 26, 2014 by Kunle Falayi

Some visa applicants nabbed at the US Consulate-General in the month of July have been handed over to the Police Special Fraud Unit in Lagos for prosecution.

According to SFU’s spokesperson, Ngozi Nsitume, a petition from the US Consulate Lagos on July 9, 2014, alleged that one Adegbola Esther appeared at US. Consulate-General for a Non-Immigrant Visa Interview with forged Canadian Turkish and Angolan visas showing entry and exit stamps.

But investigation was said to have revealed that the visas were forged by Esther’s boyfriend, one Oloni Olawale, after she paid him N100,000 for the three fake visa, to facilitate approval of her US visa application.

In another case, the US Consulate-General alleged that on July 10, 2014, another applicant, Akinlade Olugbenga, appeared for a US Immigrant Visa interview with fake name – Awoleye Tope, an individual said to have won a visa lottery.

“The suspect knowingly and fraudulently appeared at the US Embassy to steal the identity of the real winner of the diversity visa lottery,” the statement said.

A day after Olugbenga was nabbed at the embassy, another applicant, Adewole Fatimah whose real name was Adeniyi Motunrayo, was alleged to have appeared at the embassy with one Adewole Oluwaseun for a diversity visa interview. Motunrayo was said to have attempted to steal the identity of the real winner of the diversity visa lottery.

It was the same case of identity theft against applicant Omoyemi Olaiya, whose real name is Samuel Ojo and Ibenne Nkem whose real name is Ogundipe Emmanuel.

Like a harvest of fraudulent applicants, the SFU said one Babatunde Abiola and Babatunde Adenike was also nabbed for presenting forged bio-data, wedding pictures, marriage certificate and fake result to the embassy even though their real names are Oguntimehin Olanike and Aderoju Eunice.

Nsitume said, “One Aderoju Qasim and Aderoju Eunice presented forged bio-data and fake documents to the US Embassy for immigrant visas. Their real names are Oyewole Tunde and Abelese Olayinka. Both suspects fraudulently appeared at the embassy to steal the identity of the real winners of a diversity visa lottery.

“In this same month, one Christiana Omagu, a female Nigerian–American citizen, appeared before the US Consulate General to process a US passport for a male child. Investigation revealed that the suspect and her husband, Donald Omagu, were not the parents of the child, but only needed the passport to traffic the child to US.

“Finally on July 17, 2014, one Idrisu Martins, an impostor appeared at the embassy for an immigrant visa but investigation revealed that he was not the winner of the diversity visa lottery he appeared to claim.

“Investigation is on-going on these individuals. All suspects would be charged to court soon to serve as a deterrent to other intending visa fraudsters.”

Copyright PUNCH.
I feel sorry for the real winners of the visa lottery though. They may not even be aware till this moment that they've won the lottery cry cry cry. Downside of using agents to apply when you can do it yourself for free. May the enemy not take away our glory.

bbdd: Bro I contacted my school
The transcript office people said I should wait for 2 weeks before they can even get the wes verification request letter and that I have to pay for courier after its done .
The mail will first go to student affairs then registrar before going to records.

I was just weak.
Someone is trying to extort money from you bro! You don't need to pay for any courier fee since Univ of Ibadan replies WES on verification via email. Very few schools send the verification through regular mail. Perhaps you can get some perspective from my experience since i did both UG and PG at UI:
1. I applied for my transcripts from student records(UG) and PG school. They both wanted to send it through courier separately but i told them at the student records that i'm also sending my PG transcripts to the same place,so they took my UG transcripts to the PG school. PG school sent both transcripts in one package-so i just had to pay for courier service once
2. WES sent verification request letter with photocopies of transcripts (took about 2weeks to get to Ibadan) to student affairs,it passed through the registrar's office, then landed at the student records. students' records detached the PG part and sent it to PG school for verification. One lady at the records said I will have to pay for verification if i want the reply to WES sent speedily. She said UI sends reply via regular mail but I could pay for courier to make it very fast. I challenged her that other schools reply WES via email,"why should UI be different?" huh. She just kept quiet afterwards. No be my 8k she go chop smiley I had gotten all the info i needed from nairaland grin grin
3.I just followed up on both schools to know when the verification was complete. Got an email from WES shortly afterwards that my transcripts had been verified and my evaluation would be ready in a week.
