TravelRe: I Am A U.S. Consular Officer: Ask Me Your Visa Questions. by winbyforce: 1:55pm On Dec 06, 2013
VisaOfficer: Greetings! I am a U.S. Foreign Service Officer working in a Consular section in western Africa. I primarily handle Immigrant Visas and Diversity Visas. I've noticed a significant amount of discussion about visas on this website (yes, we read the websites smiley) and wanted to give people the opportunity to ask questions. I will check this site daily and make every effort to respond for the next two weeks, through Friday, July 26. [Edit: Let's make that August 8.] [Another edit: Okay, September 30!] [Well... until someone tells me to stop.]

Please note that I cannot answer questions about specific cases, nor may I reveal my identity or any personal information. Any responses in this forum are not to be taken as legally binding, as they will be based only on what you tell me in your questions, not on the information in any actual case. While I will attempt to explain U.S. immigration policies, any opinions expressed are my own views and do not necessarily reflect the views of the United States Government.

I may not be able to respond to every post in this thread, and I will not answer abusive or insulting posts. Let's see how the conversation develops...

Where's the honor among men? They stab you in the back and then eat from the same plate with you. Smh. After you've forgiven them,you should move on from both your girlfriend and your 'best' friend.

Anyone with true remorse would try to confess without being probed. Women take these kinda tins/secrets to the grave if they are not caught smiley

mos4phy: Just checked, Yeah you are very right, two of the schools requires evaluation companies(preferably wes according to them) while the last one does not.
But I'm waiting for the strike to be called off so I can go to my school and order for the transcripts which would not be an easy task. Thank god transfer deadlines for most schools are between February to April.
I'm not sure that getting your transcripts has anything to do with the strike- na administrative matter. Got mine during this strike, but your case may be different since you're still in school and may need HOD signature. No harm in trying though.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by winbyforce: 6:14pm On Nov 29, 2013
mos4phy: Now the herculean task wouldbe collecting ttranscripts for sending to evaluation service companies from my school immediately after the strike cos I'm still in 200l
Contact the schools first, not all US colleges require evaluation of transcripts by the evaluation agencies.

mos4phy: Please, gurus in the house, do you have any experience or know someone who has undergone undergraduate transfer admission from a Nigerian university while still in d university and also their chances at the embassy. Pleeeaaasee be kind to share if you have any, thanks.
I guess imperiouxx has answered your questions. It is very possible;you can contact the schools you wanna apply to and correspond with them. A friend of mine won the US Visa lottery while in 500L of dental school and transfered to Howard dental school,although that's a peculiar case - #lottery tins smiley

jcaribie: I do not think you can use WU quick pay from naija, but I know you can go to neighbouring countries to pay your sevis fee via western union. Also, any bank that does money order in Nigeria, can prep a money order draft which you will send to US BANK DHS. However, it's is advisable to ask someone you know in a foreign country to pay for it on your behalf via money order because you know as naija banks dey do their things, them fit prepare the money order finish, when US Bank DHS wan pay in the money order, wahala come burst...and for every rejected money order, you incur a fine of $30. Cheers
What naija bank did you use when you sent yours?

jcaribie: I-20 student/exchange visitor processing fee, 1005 convention plaza, St Louis MO 63101... but mk sure u go online n choose international money order as ur payment option. they will release a sevis receipt to u, but it only becomes valid when u pay.
Thanks dude. When I get to that bridge,I'll know I have an additional option of payment.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by winbyforce: 10:19am On Nov 22, 2013
jcaribie: ye...ask ur bank to do you an international money order. but try western union quick pay first. saves you fedex money lol
What address did you send the money order to? It's good to have all the options on the table
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by winbyforce: 12:26am On Nov 22, 2013
jcaribie: hi, US bnk dhs hs problem with western union. send them a foreign check/draft, that's how I paid mine. it tks 2 days for fedex to deliver the check n 1 day for them to process it.
How did you do that exactly? From Nigeria?
EducationRe: Nairaland Mathematics Clinic by winbyforce: 7:34pm On Nov 15, 2013
LogoDWhiz: wow... That's nice....
But this is my own solution.... Equating to X

0.9999...=X------------(1)

Multiplying both sides by 10

9.9999...=10X------------(2)

Subtract Equ(1) from (2)

(9.9999...-0.9999)=(10X-X)

9 =9X

X=1.

Thus, 0.9999...=1
Nice and easy logoDwhiz

Alpha Maximus: Finally!!! The clinic is a CENTENOPAGERIAN!!! *pops mathematical bottle of champagne* I wanna give a shoutout to Sivasubramaniam, the author of SS Further Math textbooks and Co-author Tuttuh Adegun,Leonhard Euler(who discovered the Euler's constant, is the Father of Mathematics) , Euclid(the Prince Of Math) , Pythagoras Of Samos(triangles would have been a pain in the calculator if not for this guy), Rene Descartes for his beautiful work which gave birth to Cartesian Planes, Blaise Pascal( a true prodigy, made his own formulae at 20 or younger), Isaac Newton( laid the foundation for Albert Einstein's works and published the single most important document in Mathematics- Principia de Mathematica), Pierre de Fermat(constructed Fermat's last conjecture:stating that no 3 positive integers a, b and c can satisfy a^n+b^n=c^n for positive integer values of n which are equal to or greater than 3, which was disproven by Andrew Wiles who worked on this for 7 years!!), Andrew Wiles, British mathematician who solved Fermat's notorious Conjecture and rejected the 1 million dollar prize money, Chike Obi of Nigeria who showed that whites were not the only capable problem-solvers, Grace Alele, pioneer of Nigerian female mathematicians, Albert Einstein( E=mc^2 says it all), the author's of new general mathematics for preparing the Nigerian youth for WAEC, KA Stroud for his insightful Advanced Engineering Math textbook and all other great mathematician whom I have failed to mention. We can't do without math in life! Even space is made up of numbers! Mathematics is the very back-bone of all sciences, the blood that pumps through the veins of engineers! Indeed what would we be without math? Merry solving and cheers to the Nairaland Mathematics Clinic on its 100 page anniversary grin *moonwalks on stage*
Add Grigory Perelman to the list. The russian recluse of jewish heritage who solved the poincare conjecture and rejected both the 2006 fields medals(highest honor in mathematics) and a 1million dollar clay institute's millenium prize. Retired from maths because of the 'politics of academia'

WHIZBRO: The fact as far as examination integrity cannot be guaranteed, Nigeria will never smell another TOEFL or GRE centre, It is so worse that the whole system stinks, TOEFL and GRE mercenaries is a potent part of the Nigeria Labour force (Thousands of young men and women are involved). The examination supervisors or auditors as we call them are as corrupt as the centre they supervise.
The reward for corruption is high, that's why another centre cannot hold its integrity, TOEFL pays centres $25 per test, runs pays as high as 100 to 150k per test, They become millionaires in a matter of weeks.
First Logic was the most trusted in Nigeria and of the most trusted in Africa, they had live CCTV feedback to Prometric and it still did not stop them from cheating. Nigeria, China and India give ETS serious headaches and amongst them, Nigeria is the most expendable, 50% of them register with Scam cards anyway.
Corruption has eaten deep into our lives and the innocent ones suffer the consequences as well. Honesty remains the best policy. cry
