kingcobra2003: I can see ur post of Dec 21, 2012 which has a transcript of ur experience. However, I couldn't see the transcript for Jan 3, 2013 as u directed. Nevertheless, it seems Dec 21, 2012 was the anniversary of ur first denial. That's what I gathered from reading ur post of that date. If so, was the Jan 3, 2013 date the third try? sry about the lawyerly grilling, just want to be sure i'm not jeopardizing my chances by reapplying so soon after a denial. Thanks buddie.

I think imperiouxx meant jan 3rd 2012. Obviously he's been in d US for awhile. Besides imperiouxx who had his 2nd interview 13days after the 1st one,fidelia.john also re-applied within 10days and got hers. So no worries bro

Yes,the chances of getting a visa with community college are quite slim but it's not impossible getting one. I believe,if I'm not mistaken,that snazzygirl got into a community college for pre-medicine as well. U might want to get in touch with her or read her posts for tips.

Getting tired of Nigeria, your not really doing well in school, your hating your school and Nigeria education gets me scared. For you to do well, you must have interest in what you are doing as such, I want to plead with you to find reasons to love your school and the educational system knowing fully well that after school, you can still travel abroad for your Masters; love the country so that you can have a thousand and one reasons why you should live each day with peace of mind; and try to like your course so that you can focus well and improve on your GPA. There is always great room for improvement if you are willing to and I wish you the very best in your undertakings.

Shouldn't be up to 5k. LUTH should be closer to you as suggested. Don't know LUTH too well but you should be able to get directions from the general out-patients department.

Depends.What vaccines do u wanna take? If more than one, between 5 and 10k. Depends actually on d specific vaccine u are taking.

What part of Lagos are you? U can get it cheaper at the general hospitals or LASUTH ikeja. More expensive @the private clinics

The interview went like this;
VO: goodmorning
ME: good morning sir
VO: you are going to wiu for ur masters degree?
ME: yes sir
VO:did u write any standardize test?
ME: yesI did, I did toefl and gre
Vo: let me see the gre
Me:I showed him. Though the result is low, I just handed it over to him. So he check and returned it bck to me
Vo: so your uncle his sponsoring you?
Me: yes sir
Vo: what is the assurance that ur uncle can sponsor you.
Me: he sponsored my undergarduate program and he has a good job now
Vo: how much does ur undergraduate cost?
Me: close to 2million naira

Vo: what does he do
Me: he is a petroleum engineer
Vo: can I have his stmt of acct?
Me: I gave him.( It was a scanned copy I told u abt tht I said the bank said they will send the original to the embassy
Vo: he typed on his system for a very long time and said sorry bla bla.

Sorry about the delay. I think it's the low GRE scores and scanned statement of account. Try and get the original statement. U may also want to study and re-do the GRE to boost your scores to a combined score of at least 300. If it's late for fall semester,get in touch with your school and defer your admission to spring semester.Maybe the gurus can shed more light.

Dunno how these things work but I believe your sponsor should be entitled to his financial statement and not just a scanned copy. I did one last year although it wasn't for US embassy. Maybe d house can shed more light on your case.

The bank told my sponsor they don't give the letter of recommendation with the statement of acct to customer that they send it directly to the embassy that they can only give him a copy of the letter and the statement. I am with the copies of this document. Please help, my interview is this Monday.

I registered for mine online using a visa card.
That was just 2months ago.

What state in Nigeria are you? You can visit the nearest univesity teaching hospital to get your vaccinations. It's costlier in private clinics

Prettychyna: please NCLEX is not written anywhere in nigeria. Its only CGFNS which will evaluate your status as a nurse in your home country before you are eligible to write NCLEX in USA. And for you to get admission, you must be a US registered nurse which you can't do until CGFNS verifies your license before you can write NCLEX in US or any other country like fillipian but never 9ja

Nowhere did I mention that the lady cannot sit for TX board exams. What I suggested is totally different from what you suggested. Advise her and let other people say what they know as well. Her ONLY option for RN-BSN is to enroll at a CC for pre-reqs while she prepares/sit for NCLEX exams. Mind you, each state in the US has its own board exams. From the schools' requirement for admission (TSI ie freshman courses, SAT and all), she would spend at least a year at a CC before gaining admission to nursing school.

I've read this thread from part 1 and I know what to look for in a schools so please stop quoting me about a school you don't know. There are other issues to deal with on this thread than being bothered about what school I'm applying to. Period!
