As hilarious as this lady's post might be, it contains serious elements of truth. I've been trying to get into the mind of atheists around me for a long time, and all I can perceive is pain and hurt as I am yet to see one Nigerian whose atheism is not as a result of emotional trauma or drug/sexual freedom. Truly atheism is incoherent. In one breath, it simply defines itself as a lack of belief in God or gods, in another breath, its proponents constantly claim the following views: - Rejection of religion. - Conformity to logic and reason - The acceptance of science - The belief that their is no God(s): This Belief could be the only logical reason for their bigotry. - The rejection of dogma - Science -Free thinking and open-mindedness - And more recently, sanity .What exactly is atheism?, before you say jack they are already telling you about elementary science. Most of their topics here are on religion. One hcpaull has even recently been professing sanity upandan. Another one Agent of allah describes it as an admission of apathy towards God. Is it that atheism is devoid of substance and has nothing to profess in the absence of religion, science e.t.c Some of them even side with irreligion by mentioning irreligious countries. Many irreligious people believe in God if not most. I was also irreligious at a time. Does this mean atheism also has to cling to irreligion to validate its stand? Is there absolutely nothing atheism has to profess for itself? Before ignorant Nigerian atheists start to tell me that atheism is not a thing or body, its the absense of it or its just a lack of belief in God, here are some atheistic organizations: -The Freedom from Religion Foundation - Atheists for Human Rights - Freethought Society - Atheist Alliance International - The Military Association of Atheists and Freethinker - Anti-Defamation League: Dedicated to battling and defaming christianity. - Atheist Centre - New Atheist Movement - International League of Non-Religious and Atheists - Rationalist International - and hundreds of other bodies. What do these people profess? Atheism? Definately not!!! They are concerned with the defamation of religion, promotion of atheist states, mockery of religious people, and erecting structures that degrade religion and religious peoole. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3920579_m_jpeg64245d588239fd4a3b260a0574f51723 www.nairaland.com/attachments/3920586_is_jpeg287d846c7e7e0032e95510b98432c51e www.nairaland.com/attachments/3920567_110225659146516219122141461428863215725082n_jpeg03330b748d1783d0be535250faae63cc Why do they not just tell us the benefits atheism has to offer? Is there none? They even have atheist churches http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-21319945 http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/11/10/atheist-mega-churches/3489967/ I can imagine what they do in atheist mega churches. If atheism has substance, could they not just name it atheist worship centres?, why churches? ![]() Tim Hawkins wonders what they teach kids at the children section of the atheist mega churches. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26nJjNDsbmk So before some uninformed Nigerians start to spit atheism is not a thing, they should get their facts right first. The lady also rightly says that all atheism offers is hopelessness. Human beings naturally craves hope. Even atheists who ask us to focus on the "here and now", hope for a better tomorrow. I've given an example here before on the hopelessness of atheism The late atheist, William Provine said: “No inherent moral or ethical laws exist, nor are there any absolute guiding principles for human society. The universe cares nothing for us and we have no ultimate meaning in life”. So why do they wish to desperately sell their hopelessness to us? Do they have some sort of personality disorder?. Why do they blame religion and religious people for the woes of Nigeria? Is it true that the number of religious determines the development/underdevelopment of a country? Is there any study to validate this? Of course not!!!. And why do they focus on christians even when it is glaring that islam destroys souls every single day. Do they really care about religion or is it just Christianity? ![]() China has a christian population of more than 1,349,585,838, U.S.A (316, 668,567), Nigeria (174,507,539), Russia (142,500,482), Japan (127,253,075). e.t.c Why are they trying to capitalize on the woes of Africa. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3865811_111028899297776237329476262370793102570573n_jpegb4b40af5164d71bf4a97f5581b0f0752 Africa is its own problem. Give Nigeria money, it wont solve her problems because those at the helm of affairs revere neither God nor Human life and will loot the money at the expense of poor masses. As the lady above said, our leaders need to fear God and worship him in Spirit and in truth. Africa truly needs God. Journalist and professed atheist Matthew Paris, upon reflecting of his journey to Africa in his piece as an atheist said; I truly believe Africa needs God, he noted the positive impacts Christianity has had. Essentially, Parris believes, that to remove Christian evangelism from Africa will “leave the continent at the mercy of a malign fusion of Nike, the witch doctor, the mobile phone and the machete”. Paris believes that “Africa needs God…Missionaries, not aid money,” as they “are the solution to Africa’s biggest problem—the crushing passivity of the people’s mindset”. Parris also saw how those professing belief in Jesus’ name has made life more bearable for many people in Africa. He explains: “Now a confirmed atheist, I’ve become convinced of the enormous contribution that Christian evangelism makes in Africa: sharply distinct from the work of secular NGOs, government projects and international aid efforts. These alone will not do. In Africa Christianity changes people’s hearts. It brings a spiritual transformation. The rebirth is real. The change is good”. https://www.conservapedia.com/images/0/00/FMSC_Distribution_Partner_in_Malawi.jpg However, Parris explained that this doesn’t seem to fit his atheism: “It inspired me, renewing my flagging faith in development charities. But travelling in Malawi refreshed another belief, too: one I’ve been trying to banish all my life, but an observation I’ve been unable to avoid since my African childhood. It confounds my ideological beliefs, stubbornly refuses to fit my worldview, and has embarrassed my growing belief that there is no God”. Similarly, another atheist, Hattersley, criticizes his fellow atheists for their lack of effort in relief effort: “You don’t hear of “Atheist Aid” rather like Christian aid, and, I think, despite my inability to believe myself, I’m deeply impressed by what belief does for people like the Salvation Army… I often say I never hear of atheist organizations taking food to the poor”. Another atheist Richard Norman explains that “Christianity has inspired not only some of the worst but also most of the best human achievements…. To present christianity and its works in a wholly negative light would in my view be hopelessly unbalanced”. Below are some studies showing the benefits of religion: religion is a part of the human nature http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1386533/Belief-religion-simply-universal-human-nature.html http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/05/12/religious-belief-is-human-nature-huge-new-study-claims/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/8510711/Belief-in-God-is-part-of-human-nature-Oxford-study.html education positively affects religious participation and devotional activities in daily life http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs13644-011-0007-4 Church attendance has a positive effect on the grade point average http://connection.ebscohost.com/c/articles/34099196/going-church-helps-students-grades Religious involvement and spirituality are associated with better health outcomes, including greater longevity, coping skills, and health-related quality of life (even during terminal illness) and less anxiety, depression, and suicide" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11761504 Lower blood pressures observed among those who frequently prayed or studied the Bible (daily or more often) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9724889 Religiousity and its influence on immune system http://www.dukehealth.org/health_library/news/663 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9565726 Religion and its effect on lifetime impulsivity, aggression, and substance use American Psychiatric Association: http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/article.aspxVolume=161&page=2303&journalID=13 Religious people and charity http://www.pewforum.org/Religion-News/Religious-people-make-better-citizens-study-says.aspx http://articles.latimes.com/2007/jun/16/local/me-beliefs16 And several other research studies... www.nairaland.com/attachments/4101992_1101235010373168196456936603477261548232455n_png_jpegd2580f50b07c5d5e80d8c0b21322361f https://www.conservapedia.com/images/d/d4/Mayo_clinic_Rochester_MN.jpg The prestigious Mayo Clinic found that religious involvement and spirituality are associated with better physical health and mental health outcomes. https://www.conservapedia.com/images/c/c4/Drugs.jpg Religion has "enormous potential for lowering the risk of substance abuse among teens and adults," according to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse Atheism is devoid of substance, its is embarrasingly hopeless and seriously lacks retention. Thats why the 2016 International atheist reason rally which was held at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. had an embrassingly low turnout of less than 10,000 people after its attendance had been predicted to be over 30,000. https://wp.production.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/files/2016/06/ReasonRally2106Crowd.png This comes to no surprise. Atheism does not have the intellectual credentials needed in order to be rationally accepted by the educated and rational person. It proposes the non-existence of God without supplanting that claim with evidence - something they constantly request of theists. In Nigeria and Africa in general, God helps the masses to get through the madness that their terrible and corrupt leaders have subjected them to. And this hope for a better tomorrow will not be stolen by angry atheists. So as the lady in the oP said; Because tomorrow go beta, God dey ![]() There is a stadium in Surulere. Atheists should feel free to take all the seats there and sit down. Naija people collectively say unto you: “Taaarrr!”

I saw this interesting article somewhere online and I felt I should share it, its hilarious but true. Enjoy: I have said it here before that the Nigerian brand of atheism is just one bundle of hilariousness. But, like normal bacterial flora, that belief system (Yes, it is a belief system that believes it’s all about a lack of belief .) still does have its usefulness to the body of Christ, especially as planet earth prepares to wrap up its existence. But I can bet a thousand pounds on the fact that Nigerians would never take atheists seriously anytime soon. Not only is that belief system hilariously incoherent, it does not in anyway appeal to the Nigerian spirit. First, all atheism offers is hopelessness. We are all products of random chance, there is no reason for our existence and after all our sufferings: no light, no fuel, no food, we all will just die piiii like that. Nothing somebody wee norr hear shaa! For your information and in the spirit of kindness, I am telling you this free of charge: Don’t you ever tell that to a Nigerian. The Nigerian spirit is an optimistic one. NEPA don take light? No wahala! We would simply straighten our clothes with charcoal iron and turn up at that wedding or that house-opening like an army of powerful wildebeests. Have you ever thought of what keeps that Keke driver sane in the midst of severe fuel scarcity? Like, at the end of the day, all he goes home with to meet his pregnant wife and six children all under the age of ten, is N3000 ($9.38)? The rent has piled up, quit notice is on the table, the twins are down with malaria, school fees have not been paid, the roof is leaking rain water, and you come to tell him there is no God, that this life is utterly meaningless and the odds that things will get better for him are no more certain than getting a double six in a game of ludo? Do you mean him well? You want him to end up on crack? Na waa for you people o. Or what do you think about the young lady who was gang-raped by cult-boys at the university? Cult-boys who are now married with children, living the life, working in oil rigs (or in politics), snapping and posting lovey-dovey pictures on Instagram? You come to social media to type that there is no God, no ultimate justice, no karma, no judgement. So she sits still to let your message sink in, carefully considering how much these guys have stuffed the police and the courts with money. She realises that the arm of justice in Nigeria is very short. Her hope is in the God of heaven who you are trying (rather unsuccessfully I must say) to deny? You want to turn her into an assassin? Oh, you are shaking your head.. No be you say morality is relative/subjective? Ekwe! And the widow at the ministry of finance who has not been paid for months? What do you think is preventing her from just stealing all the money in the treasury? Her children are sick, the promised change has turned into a mirage, mosquitoes are biting with double fury. But she chooses not to steal. She tells you that there is a Supreme Judge to whom she has to answer, but you scornfully say no, He doesn’t exist and morality is relative. Are you seeing yourself? The annoying part of this campaign is that it is full of lies. I have heard Nigerian atheists say that many developed countries are atheistic. So, should Nigerians troway their faiths inside dustbin, we would magically transform into Scandinavia! Ugha! Lies! Take a look at this statistic from Norway. And this one from Finland. See Denmark people o! Even Germany! And the UK where yours sincerely has lived for three years. And the most powerful nation on earth: The United States. 83%!! Let that sink in for a moment. We realise that mere religion without a true relationship with God has done a lot of hemehe in this world. The reason is very simple: Religion is an attempt to get to God. It is humanly engineered and so is bound to be riddled with errors. Sometimes, very serious ones. But, that cannot in anyway disprove the existence of God! That there are thousands of fake N500 notes in circulation cannot disprove the existence of genuine notes. What people like me have dedicated our lives to, is to point Nigerians to the true God, to make us realise the futility of merely professing religion without a true connection to God, and to re-emphasise these words spoken by Jesus Christ who is God incarnate. He said: “God is a Spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24). That is what we need in our dear nation. Patriotism and a relationship with God are not mutually exclusive. In fact, true patriotism, in every meaning of that phrase, requires a genuine relationship with Yaweh. So, Nigerian atheists, you guys can as well pick another struggle. We full blooded Nigerians are not ready to listen to your incoherence. There is a stadium in Surulere. Please feel free to take all the seats there and sit down. Naija people collectively say unto you: “Taaarrr!” Screen-shots: Wiki, ABC news. Please by all means, eradicate religion. The movement to eradicate religion has started since the 14th century, try your luck too. Just be ready to kill several people just as former atheist leaders did. Without that, your great grand children will open this same thread with the same title in 200 years time. |

dalaman:Dont cry!!! "We will substitute materialism for [philosophical] idealism and atheism for theism."- Mao Zedong, Examples Of Dialectics, 1959 Do you want 10 more? |
9. Then Moses went up with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, 10. and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself Two options: 1. The elders had some glimpse of the glory of God, though whatever they saw, it was something of which no image or picture could be made. Nothing is described but what was under his feet. How do you see someone and the only description you have is the under of his feet. Timothy was right: No one can see God and live, but one can see or behold the glory or the goodness of God. Just like God told Moses later: “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. . . . But . . . you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live”. 2. They may also have seen a christophany (a pre-incarnate image of God). Jacob wrestled with such being, and it was said that he wrestled with God. We know its not possible to wrestle with God. These are my opinions, others can give theirs. Stephen, You wont see me on such threads cos the aim of such threads are mockery and nothing more. I'm in a lighter mood that why i have decided to oblige you. My sole intent on this section is being reflected in my threads. Thanks. |
hahn:Many people have been healed of sicknesses and diseases, you still deny. Why do you want me not to believe in God with you? |

KingEbukasBlog:Lmao
|
hahn:You know who you spend your life trying to fight, so why are you lying? |
HCpaul:You are a disgrace to intelligence. He knows far more than you when it comes to insights on the physical world. Parroting the word science will not make you a scientist. Go to school. |
hahn:No, I dont get it. I think you know the real God. That is Who you spend your life fighting against. |
KingEbukasBlog:Christians even live better than them. So why do they want us to but their hopelesness. They offer us this everyday of their lives. Is there something the atheists are not telling us? |
donnffd:Just look at your logic; 1. Fluke accident 2. accidental collision 3. Univers fission Are you this desperate? Can people see this. ![]() If I told you an airplane could come about by fluke, accident or fission of older metals, how will you react?. Is it not more logical to believe that a Creator created the airplane (which by the way, is far less complex than the universe). https://cdn.airplane-pictures.net/images/uploaded-images/2016/8/8/762090.jpg I dont know why you people are intentionally denying the obvious. This is why I prefer not to engage in discussions with you guys, its never about logic. donnffd:The Giver of life gave life. It takes wilful stubbornness not to see how powerful a Being who created such a vast universe could be. donnffd:You are no better scientist than I am, none of you is. Early and contemporary scientists perceived law in nature and law requires a law-giver and not strings of fluke. Acknowledging this fact is perfectly rational, and that is why they wanted to know and study HOW it was done. Rationalism which you people seek to hijack was started by theists. Rene Descateres was the first mordern rationalist, Sir Francis Bacon (the founder of applied science) inspired the mordern scientific attitude that favours skepticism, systematic observation and verification of claims by independent empirical observations, and many other theists. These are people who knew that Life was formed by God - the Life giver. Science is not meant to be based on fraternity as it is now but on truth, so when you use the phrase "Science is trying to get the real truth", these great and historically great scientists were theists who were trying to give answers for humanity. donnffd:What is all these ? How did you know sexual reproduction arose 550 million years ago? You see the bolded, Just tell us why the male forms had to mutate, tell us how the female forms were reproducing, tell us if we should be expecting another human mutation from men. How about other female life forms, did they also communicate to themselves to evolve male forms? Look, just stay in a quiet room and read the bolded aloud severally so you can hear how such nonsense sounds. Creationism birthed all the knowledge we know today and is still doing so, Evolution seeks to plant its feet in mordern science just because of its usefulness to atheism. www.nairaland.com/attachments/4074475_1387301510495911384241293982768562607971303n_jpege5d43f5f7a7163f958cfc9fe816203bf donnffd:Science does not come in. Theists usher in science. The science you cling to so desperately was founded and reinforced by theists. And these ones worshipped the greatest Scientist. Why then do you want me to join your band of angry atheists when some of greatest pioneers and acheivers of mordern science were theists ?donnffd:Movies are intelligently created and that is why people watch them. Movies did not arise by luck, accidents, fission or chance. People watch interesting movies because those movies were created. If the world didnt matter as you all say, you wont contend with me for the truth. donnffd:"It must have been" What is this , This is why you people dont need a logicak argument. You people just say anything to make yourselves feel better, right .donnffd:Lol. You want me to accept reality because you are sure of the totality of reality right? Cos you created reality right? Or maybe you're just emotionally insecure. If the universe does not give a damn, just relax and seek a good time before you perish. You do not need to spend your limited time dictating to other people to become what you're not. Remember not to judge other accidental bag of cells who wish to satisfy their fantacies by blowing up buildings or cracking open the heads of other accidental cell bags. Its what they wish to do with their few years on earth, the universe does not care anyway if you invent an airplane or blow up airplanes, and neither should you. donnffd:I can only come up with one at the moment, just look in the mirror. |
AmenRa1:Ok, I don hear. Quickly cook up fake dates for the rest of the quotes like you did to the second quote. |
AmenRa1:I'm very happy people can see this. 1. The first quote is not true and has been refuted by reputable secular historians. It was added by desperate individuals. 2. You purposely changed the date of the second quote to 1945, when it was actually made in 1933. The statement was made in celebration of germany's exit from the league of nations in 1933. The picture below is additional proof. 3. The remaining quotes have no dates, you still have enough time to cook up dates for them.
|
Weah96:So in a nutshell, christianity took away our cultural identity? |
AmenRa1:Mouth!!!. Most atheists here have also christian quotes to their names before they became atheists. Those quotes were in 1929. Look at that date im about to provide very well, then show me his christian quotes after those dates. winner01:So get to work dude. |
Richirich713:It is a strawman. |
