NY friend is confused right now because of a choice of a Political Party to help him achieve his political ambition.
His name is Joe, living outside his home state where he carries out his legal business. Right now he is nursing an ambition to represent his constituency in their State House of Assembly.
As a young man who is not a money-bag, he seriously needs an advice on the best political party that can help him achieve his political ambition outside the PDP and the APC.
Already two parties are wooing him to their side but according to him they are all interested in his money before even letting some secrets out to him.
This made him to contact another party where the Chairman was able to give him a breakdown of what is required of him financially by the party before he is allowed to fly their flag in the coming election. Kudos to this party but the snag here is that the party is enmeshed in a deep problem... This is not healthy at all for any party that wants to win election.
As a result, I decided to post his concern on Nairaland so that more advice can be obtained. Please Nairalanders help a fellow man to choose a better party to realize his political ambition. Thank you all...

It is about God and God alone. It is for Him alone to give. It is about His purpose, His will, His counsel, His plan and His glory.

He OWNS the Presidency and the minute any man or woman attempts to usurp His role and think that he or she can buy it or manoeuvre his or her way into it by the usage of political intrigues, guile, sagacity, wisdom, power, knowledge, money or anything else, the Lord disqualifies and rejects him.

Such a person will fail woefully and may even end up losing everything he or she values and cherishes in his futile quest.

God will never share His glory with anyone and He will never support a man or woman that is prepared to mislead, betray and sell his own people down the river just to satisfy his vaulting and insatiable ambition of becoming President.

Yet the signs were there but you refused to acknowledge or accept them.

They refused to give you a formal position in the National Executive. They ensured that some of your key loyalists in the South West turned against you and opposed you.

They refused to accept even ONE of your Ministerial nominees both in 2015 and 2019. They humiliated your protegee who you nominated as Vice President and turned him into a pliant and pathetic little errand boy with no testicular fortitude or shame.

They drove your nominee at FIRS out of office unceremoniously and have placed him under criminal investigation.

They have divided the ranks of your loyalists and turned even your hitherto most trusted lieutenants against you.

They insulted, undermined, marginalised you openly and worse of all they made it clear to you privately that they would NEVER give you power.

All this meant nothing to you and you shamelessly continued to support their evil ways and toe their satanic and murderous line.

Yet if you did not care about what they subjected you to you ought to have at least cared about what they did to Nigeria.

For the last five years our nation and people have suffered because of the calamitious choices that you made and the inexplicable and unconciable alliances that you forged.

You propped up and supported a ruthless, heartless, corrupt, bloodthirsty and cruel regime and tyrant and a President that is clearly beside himself and whose mental and physical faculties reside in another realm and in another world.

Consequently our nation has been utterly and completely destroyed, our economy ruined and our people decimated.

They have been slaughtered, butchered, pauperised, emasculated, humiliated, marginalised, insulted and impoverished.

Hundreds of thousands of them have been murdered in cold blood in their homes, towns, villages and farms and millions have been displaced.

Millions more have been ruined and economically destroyed whilst our country remains weak, divided and the butt of cruel jokes all over the world.

Because of your choices Nigerians are being subjected to persecution, physically attacked, enslaved, humiliated, lynched, scorned, maimed, killed, disgraced, evicted and declared persona non grata both at home and in distant foreign lands whilst our foreign Embassies are being demolished by miscreants and local criminals even in supposedly friendly countries.

I sincerely hope thet one day you will reflect on all this and consider the damage you have done to your kinsmen and compatriots.

Whether you do or not is left to you but one thing that is clear: for the choices you have made, for all you have done and for the sheer wickedness and greed that resides in your insensitive and dark heart you will pay a heavy price both in this world and in the world to come and the Lord will hand you over to your political enemies.

FLASHBACK: Recall thar it was Femi Adesina, the Presidential Spokesman under President Buhari, who boasted that Nigeria would stop importing Fuel By 2019. It was this same Femi who came on air the other day to tell Nigerians that "heaven will not fall because of fuel scarcity under their watch.

During the build up of this administration, Femi Adesina boosted that the country would stop importation and exportation of petroleum products by 2019.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Adesina had said that the importation and exportation of fuel had a high effect on the lingering fuel crisis because the country did not produce the product locally and the refineries did not work, which made room for little hitches in the inflow.

Femi Adesina said: “When you import fuel and do not produce fuel locally or the refineries do not work once in a while fuel scarcity should be expected, as long as you have those variables not under your total control you can’t rule that out,” he said. The presidential spokesperson explained that the then Minister of State For Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachukwu, had drawn “a timetable leading to 2019; part of the plan is that Nigeria would stop importing but exporting.”

Realizing that he has delved into something bigger than him and which he has no explanations to, the same Femi resorted to giving Nigerians another form of encouragement and hope. He said "Nigerians would survive the current fuel scarcity". How?

Adesina said heavens would not fall over the current fuel scarcity and Nigerians will survive like always. What this means to me is that Femi is now incapacitated and has run out of ideas. The Turin of lies are no longer working... The presidential aide recalled that Nigerians had experienced a similar situation in the past and they survived. Meaning that the government he is serving has no solution to the age-long problem which is one of reasons they were voted into power.

Adesina’s article reads partly: “It’s obviously not the easiest of times in our country currently, what with severe fuel scarcity exacerbating the other existential challenges we have been coping with.

“In some areas, there’s no fuel, no electricity, thus translating to a severe energy crisis

This administration has taught us a new system of employing staff into public offices. They call it REPLACEMENT. This is a situation whereby those calling the shots in this political space are called upon to bring or submit the names of their wards, sons, relations, etc to replace names of people on retirement, those who died in office, or those that switched offices.

Concerning the unemployment rate in the country which the National Bureau of Statics released a data saying that unemployment has increased in the 3rd quarter of 2017, Adesina said that there was an increase agricultural sector especially rice farming, mining and solid minerals.

He further explained that shortly after the Buhari-led administration came into power the country entered into recession and oil prices went down but within a year the country came out of recession, he added that as the economy starts to settle gradually jobs that were lost will be regained.

So, where are we now? I do not care about any other person but I am mindful of Mr. Femi and how he has become what he is today.

Another election is around the corner... People are warming up with how to deceive Nigerians and get to power. The political parties are coming up with certain amount of money for their forms purchase. I hear that one put its own at N40 million. If you want to fight corruption, remove the high amount and put it to say, N50,000 or N100,000 so that people who have what it takes to rule Nigeria can afford it.

Higher amount for form purchase is still meant for the thieves and criminals among us. Or you are opening another doors for criminals to sponsor good people and at the end control their government. They call it INVESTMENT. When that happens, they will appoint the likes of my friend Femi to defend them. My people, who is fooling who? My concerns here in this government is about people like my friend Femi, who will still come back to the society to condemn ills of a ruling government or the past ones.

This is purely selfishness... Must we promise and defend lies?

Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu the husband of Bianca once slapped Umaru Dikko for speaking unruly to him. It was during a Constitutional Conference of the Sani Abacha military regime. Ojukwu was calm when Dikko was spewing thrash but later followed him to the toilet where Dikko went to ease himself and slapped the hell out of him.
Dikko quickly pulled a call to Abacha but the Head of State did not say a word neither did he give any funny command. Dikko was humbled and went back to his seat quietly and remained speechless all through the period.
Bianca replicated the same thing by that high profile slap.

It was in the Bible that we read: "Teach us to number our days and apply our hearts unto wisdom". It is noteworthy that wisdom is the principal thing to get. Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding are three words of a kind, too related but distinct from another. The possession of one leads to the other.

In our school days, so many information was passed to us. Making use of those information depends on how we were able to understand and appropriate them. Those who took time to understand are few an those who applied the information they understood are fewer. Information was generally passed, few people got it, few people understood it and fewer people applied it. You see, the Bible described wisdom as proper application of knowledge (information).

When we were younger, we learned a lot of poems, rhymes, etc by heart and many of them made no meanings to us then. Growing up we began to see meanings to some of those things we sang in songs some of them badly pronounced. We began to read meanings to certain actions we took and feel very ashamed that we actually did things like that.

Many of the teachers we hated in those days will be carried above our shoulders today should we have the opportunity of seeing them again. But so unfortunate, many of them have passed on and the few that are alive cannot be located for appreciation. I still can remember going to school with my Bata Shoe (Curtina) which doesn't take a turn to get lost. I still remember being told to go to school barefoot because I was careless with my school canvas. I remember my white upon green shorts which white turns to brown after two washings.

Hmmmm, you all understand where I am coming from... Our English Readers impacted a lot to many of us. I still remember how most of the books in our school libraries were shared to us for the purpose of reading and returning same. I still remember how the government through the Universal Basic Education (UBE) stopped the supply of books to our school libraries and we were made to buy our books individually.

As an indigene of Imo State, I witnessed the building of Imo Airport under the then governor, Dr. Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe. As pupils, we were levied. We paid Airport Levy after our school fees. I also paid what the then government called Survival Levy. After payments, receipts were given to us. I can still find mine. That apart, I paid Consolidated Equipment Fee. I also paid Caution Fee, etc.

With all these payments, the schools were not made better. School children are still without the best education. Strikes are still being embarked upon. Government is not being reasonable. Quality education has been flown to the wind. In secondary schools, I witnessed a lot of rot that brought discouragements to a lot of people. They called it a quit and joined business. It's still not the solution as the business world is also corrupt. There was extortion of different sorts. During WAEC/GCE examinations, we started hearing about the word EXPO. I saw people jumping fences, climbing walls in order to DELIVER as agreed.

None of these has ended the suffering in the land. These same people graduated into the Ministries and its Parastatals. A good number of them are in politics. They are Governors, House of Assembly Members, Senators, Judicial Members, Journalists, House of Representative Members, Police, Army, Paramilitary, Presidents and Vice Presidents. They are making laws that they cannot keep or obey, but they are passing judgements on little offenders, jailing and killing them.

Today, Carpenters are heading the Education Ministries. Mechanics are working in the hospitals. With their screwdrivers and spanners they are killing their patients and dumping them in the morgues. Police, Army and other recruitments are now used to settle political friends. And so they are used against political enemies. Human life does not matter any more. Blood flows every day, and these bloods are speaking and crying against those who spill them. Old men that were in the Ministries when I was in Primary School are still there either as full time or part time workers while their graduate children are without jobs. Fake people have taken over the religious space. They no longer talk about God or how to do good.

To make matters worse, the government of the day is looking away when those who struggled individually to rise in business are left to suffer societal injustices. The petty farmers' produce are forcefully fed to the cattle and the farmer raped or killed if he/she tries to resist. The government has borrowed away the brains of its subjects and made them slaves to Shylock money lenders. Many good people have died as a result. No respite in sight. No one can receive a grant again. Every dime is a loan and you must pay back, when many of them are feeding fat from government purses.

One thing most people especially those in government failed to know is that Obi is no longer a boy, while Ada should now be a mother with children. That same Chike we read about in the Reader might no longer be the river boy. He might probably be a Marine Engineer. That same Edet might no longer live in Calabar but might have moved to Canada.

The Eze that was going to school at that time might have been a graduate by now. Today is different from yesterday. Things are changing and very fast too. My "Macmillian English" in those days must have been revised many times over to accommodate the present trend.

Whatever you're doing, be rest assured that records are kept. God is watching everyone and must pay each person according to his/her works. It's time to look back and be wise...

I have heard so many religious people condemn pool betting, lotteries, gaming, etc., yet there are a lot gambling going on in the business world in the name of investment.

Here are some instances. Stockbrokers can have the privilege of observing that some stocks can rise and go all high in 12 hours or more and investors make several tons of profit on paper but in the next five minutes, a change in the market could lead to a trend and result in the crash of a particular stock and investors lose a lot of money. People who keyed into the initial offering of the stock would have their profits rolling but late time investors may not be able to even get as much as their capitals back. Now, that's with stocks.

Recently, in a company, some privileges that investors could get in terms of ROI were removed and the company restructured some of its offerings. For example, as an investor, just two weeks back you could key into one of the company’s investment plans that earns you a 40% return in 13 months but now, you can only earn 35% in 12 months. Investors who partnered with this company when this offering was available still have their seeds germinating towards maturity in the 40% ROI category but new investors have the option of 35% now or choose another plan completely say, the 75% return in 24 months.

To me, I see investing one’s money as trying a form of gambling. If this is not the case, I need to understand it clearly what difference is there between gambling and investment. It’s a bit confusing…

Levirate marriage is a type of marriage in which the brother of a deceased man is obliged to marry his brother's widow. Levirate marriage has been practiced by societies with a strong clan structure in which exogamous marriage (i.e. marriage outside the clan) is forbidden.

As a Christian, What is Your Personal View as Regards Levirate Marriage? Is there any Biblical support for this?

I went to a married Christian's house who was managing one room apartment with his beautiful wife. When we entered the well dressed and arranged room that served as their bedroom as well as their parlour, the seats could not accommodate all of us and behold a well dressed family bed inviting the rest of without seats to sit on it. I made the first move, and the man of the house warned me never to sit on the bed. We waited for long for more seats but it took time to arrive. At this time my legs have started to hurt and to help myself I took the boldest move and sat on the bed. I believed there was nothing much to it as in my own house there was no such restrictions.
The man thundered from behind, "I told you not to sit there...!" I quickly sprang on my feet while the man was so sad about my action. The question I have for sincere Christians here is, are there implications for sitting on a married man's bed innocently as I did without having anything in mind?

TEXT OF PRESS BRIEFING BY THE NATIONAL DRUG LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY, NDLEA, ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2022.


Gentlemen of the press, there is no better way to start this press briefing than to remind us about the enormity of the drug problem Nigeria has on its hand and the imperative of all well-meaning Nigerians to play a positive role in curbing the illicit drug menace.

Even before the damning findings of the 2018 National Drug Use and Health Survey, Nigeria’s drug problem was getting close to epidemic proportion. And if anything, the arrests and seizures by NDLEA in the past 12 months is an indication that the country’s drug problem was grossly underestimated before President Muhammadu Buhari’s resolve to strengthen the NDLEA and the subsequent launch of offensive action by the Agency to clean the society of the menace.
And in just 12 months, even the most cynical of Nigerians now agree that the country is really in a drug quagmire and therefore appreciates the relentless efforts of NDLEA operatives.
Unfortunately, some law enforcement agents who should be partners in the pursuit of the President’s mandate are at the forefront of breaking the law, as they aid and abet drug trafficking in the country.
Today, we are forced to declare one of such law enforcement agents wanted in the person of suspended DCP Abba Kyari, the erstwhile Commander of Intelligence Response Team (IRT) at the Force Intelligence Bureau of the Nigerian Police Force.

With the intelligence at our disposal, the Agency believes strongly that DCP Kyari is a member of a drug cartel that operates the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit drug pipeline, and he needs to answer questions that crop up in an ongoing drug case in which he is the principal actor. His failure to cooperate forced the hand of the Agency and that is the reason for this press briefing.

Let me give a synopsis of what transpired.
The saga started on Friday, January 21, 2022, when DCP Kyari initiated a call to one of the NDLEA officers in Abuja at 2:12 pm. When the officer returned the call two minutes later, Kyari informed him he was coming to see him, to discuss an operational matter after the Juma’at service.
He appeared at the agreed venue of the meeting with the officer and went straight to the crux of the matter. This was it: His team had intercepted and arrested some traffickers that came into the country from Ethiopia with, according to him, 25kg of cocaine. He proposed a drug deal whereby he and his team are to take 15kg of the cocaine and leave 10kg for the prosecution of the suspects arrested with the illicit drug in Enugu. In the meantime, the purloined cocaine will be replaced with a dummy worth 15kg. He asked the NDLEA officer to persuade men of the FCT Command, to play along as well.

Now, anybody who is in touch with the reality of the renewed drug war by NDLEA since January 18, 2021, would know that that was a tall order because our officers and men have rededicated themselves to the war against illicit drugs and what Kyari was asking for was not tenable, not in this new dispensation, not with the new NDLEA. We can recall that one of our officers was in the same situation in May 2021 when a drug kingpin, Ejiofor Felix Enwereaku, flew from Brazil to Nigeria to negotiate the release of a 27.95 kg shipment of cocaine intercepted at the MMIA. The drug lord offered a bribe of $24, 500, but our officer placed duty above pecuniary interest. We all know how the episode ended. That is the ethos of the new NDLEA. And our officer proved it again this time by reporting to the authorities.
By 11: 05 am on Monday, January 24, after the Agency gave the officer the green light to play along, he and Kyari began a WhatsApp call for the rest of the day. The officer conveyed “their” willingness to play the game.
At this point, Kyari disclosed that the 15kg (already taken out) was shared between the informants that provided information for the seizure and he and his men of the IRT of the Nigerian Police. According to him, the informants were given 7kg while his team took 8kg which was already sold. He then offered to pay the NDLEA team (that is the officer and the FCT commander) by selling, on their behalf, half of the remaining 10kg, thereby further reducing the original cocaine for the prosecution to just 5kg. At N7m per kilogram, the proceed from the 5kg would amount to N35m, at the exchange rate of N570 per dollar being the black market rate for the day, January 24, 2022. In effect, he would be delivering $61, 400 to the NDLEA team. He put pressure on our officer to wrap up the arrangement with the commander of the FCT Command to take custody of the drug and suspects from his men who were on ground in Abuja. At the time, he was speaking from Lagos, where he allegedly travelled for private business.
The next day January 25, Kyari offered to send his younger brother to deliver the payment while his men deliver the suspects, but our officer turned down the suggestion, insisting he would rather deal with him in person and was therefore prepared to wait for him to return from Lagos.
And by 5: 23 pm, Kyari was in Abuja and met with the officer at the same rendezvous where they had the first meeting. In their discussion, he disclosed how his team received the information from a double-crosser who betrayed the traffickers to him, showing a sordid connection between law enforcement agents and the drug underworld; he narrated how acting on the tip-off, his team departed Abuja to Enugu and arrested the traffickers, removed part of the consignment on his instruction and replaced same with dummies. He also indicated how to identify the remnant of the original cocaine that would be delivered to NDLEA, five original packages marked with red dots. The reason for this was to avoid the dummies being subjected to test. He forwarded a picture of the marked original cocaine package. According to the plan, once the 5kg cocaine has been tested in the presence of the suspects and confirmed positive, there would be no need to test the remaining ones, being dummies.
He also brought with him the money from the sale of the 5kg share of the NDLEA team, a total of $61, 400. Our officer, however, preferred to take the money inside his car. Well, the car was wired with sound and video recorders. And the moment was documented, part of which I will play for you at the end of this briefing.

So we have a trove of intelligence, hard facts, from chats to photos and video and a detailed transcript of the communication between him and the NDLEA officer.
This is not the place to delve into the details. But it is disheartening to hear straight from the horse’s mouth the kind of sleaze engaged in by this team of rogue law enforcement agents led by Kyari, the members of whom he described this way: “the boys are very, very sharp, they are very loyal.”
It is disheartening to hear him say of this rogue team, and I quote: “I do take good care of them, and this kind of work is done by only that team.”
It is equally disheartening to hear him give details of another similar operation which they pulled off, three weeks ago, according to him.

Well, I am not here to wash his dirty linen in the public. But I want us to understand how we arrive at this juncture whereby we are having this press briefing.
NDLEA has the mandate to take custody of suspects and consignments of drugs seized by other arms of law enforcement. And there is a standard protocol for such transfer. This we duly followed. The suspects and drugs were delivered to us on February 8 but the last part of the process, yet to be completed, is the debriefing of Kyari.

Gentlemen of the press, DCP Abba Kyari was invited by NDLEA for debriefing on Thursday February 10 through two main channels because there is a whole lot of questions begging for answers. The invitation was legitimate and formal according to our protocol. But up till the close of office hours on Friday, February 11, he refused to respond. Up till this moment, he hasn’t responded.

We are a law-abiding agency of government. We follow due process. In that vein, we will not detain suspects beyond the stipulated period according to the law before we charge them to court. And Kyari must be debriefed before the suspects are arraigned in court.
Having failed to honour the official invitation, NDLEA has no option but to declare DCP Abba Kyari of the Nigerian Police WANTED, right from this very moment.

I must say this publicly. We are not unaware of threats to the lives of NDLEA officers involved in this investigation, even as we continue to do our best to protect our officers and men in the line of duty.
We are making this strong statement to those contemplating harmful action against NDLEA officers. They would only succeed in compounding their problems in the event of the murder of or harm to officers and men of NDLEA.
