Joshua Opayinka, chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in one of the Western States of Nigeria has declared that churches would not stop holding services because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said the pandemic was an evil spirit floating around the world and would find it impossible to enter the church.

Opayinka, who spoke to the BBN Yoruba, said only the power of prayers could stop the virus from spreading.

“They cannot tell us to close worship centres because of coronavirus; cutting the head off is not the solution to a headache,” he said, stressing that God was aware of the pandemic sweeping through the world and only had the solution.

The cleric urged Christians to intensify prayers to God to bring an end to the pandemic, adding that God killed Ebola and the congregation should call Him again to kill coronavirus.

Opayinka said: “The evil spirit that travels around the world is what is called Coronavirus, anybody who brings this spirit to the church will not be able to enter the church, the spirit will not enter the church,” he declared.

The cleric said the church would abide by any instruction given by the government over coronavirus but urged it not to shutdown worship centres because only congregational worship would provide solution to the pandemic.

This goes to show that Goodluck Jonathan stomached a lot. He cried out when the excesses of Sanusi was out of control. The public outcry then of witch hunt has been rubbished by Sanusi's dethronement. That goes to show that Sanusi has no respect for people above him. For the first time in Nigerian history, a CBN governor was living larger than the country's President. He treated Jonathan with disdain that people, especially Jonathan's enemies started worshipping him. He was donating away Nigeria's money to institutions of his choice. It was only in his era we heard of the nonexisting CBN corporate social responsibility - Sanusi's conduit pipe for lavishing Nigeria's money.

In this country, so many people are seriously looking for work, no matter how little. As a business owner, make the mistake of trying to help them by giving them work, they will tend to prove to you that you're a fool. They will introduce all manner of acts that will make you regret ever starting a business and getting them employed there.
People are so wicked and stupid that they can kneel down and worship you while begging to be employed, but when that happens, they would want to remove food from your mouth. Why would anyone steal away his/her future? Who says that what you met there is a common wealth? Did your employer steal from your father/mother? Why should you suddenly grow horns to engage in unethical things?
Well, for those vilifying the hotel owner, know it that one day you will be in his shoes. Do you know what he went through to establish such a place, only for your useless, good-for-nothing brothers and sisters to come and steal him blind? Others even went further to condemn the Judge for doing his work. Can you see the kind of country we find ourselves in? Needless blaming the man that labeled it "a zoo"! Where are we going from here?
Why should we glorify evil because it's being done to someone else? I believe, if we are the ones, we will do worse things... Hmmm, God is watching us all...

The hotel owner might have been enduring countless losses which made him do what he did. Yes, you called it "common meat" but that's where he irks his living from... If everyone working there took to the same line of stealing meat, how many will remain and how will he pay their salary?
Better face your own business. Do you know how long that has been happening and they will all deny ever eating meat? That he summed the stolen meat to N5000 does not mean the man ate the whole N5000 meat at that time... That was his own share of the accummulated stolen meat in the hotel... Next time, tell your brothers and sisters to desist from stealing, because it can land them in jail...

Why has Trump not resigned since all the numerous school shooting took place? Did Obama resign when one crazy man killed 500 in the USA in one night,

Did you campaign for Jonathan to resign with all the killings by Boko haram, bombing in Abuja, Police HQ attack in Abuja, bus park in same Abuja, 200 killed on the streets of Kano one afternoon. What is Buhari supposed to do that is a sure banker to end the insurgency immediately that he has not done?
What will his replacement do end ALL criminal activites in Nigeria at once? if another person takes over and a violent crime is committed will the new person too be asked to resign?
Arrant nonsense! Should we celebrate mediocrity because someone like you will vomit trash? Did Buhari not promise Nigerians safety if voted to power? Did Buhari not say that in 6 months of his take over Boko Haram will become history? Did Buhari not promise Nigerians good governance all round? Why did you vote for him in the first place?

The Jonathan you rejected as a weakling is now part of your lineup to measure Buhari's success and failures... All the people you mentioned their names: Obama and Trump were taken unawares and they woke up to the challenges. Buhari met the Boko Haram issue on ground, he campaigned with it, promising Nigerians hope that never came.

I am not a fan of Abaribe, but he spoke the minds of Nigerians. If you as a leader made a promise of what to expect in your tenure, but failed, what the people expect from you is nothing more than your resignation. Garba Shehu took everything the man said personal. He forgot that he was speaking on behalf of a president who should give account to his subjects. Rather than apologizing to Nigerians on behalf of his Master Buhari, he ran his mouth like a mad dog sent out to attack.

You see why your submission is lame? In essence, I don't think there is any Nigerian that personally hates Buhari. What the people hate is his style of leadership. Nigeria today is on the brink of division. Instead of Buhari's Presidency to attack the messenger of a good message, they should take the message and do the needful.

No one likes to die, and the number of deaths that occur in Nigeria daily is alarming. Please my dear, defend what is right since whatever we sow is what we reap... Be guided.

CelebritiesChurch Elder: My Daughter Belongs To ‘marlian Cult’ Where Girls Don’t Wear Pants by winningwinner(op): 12:48am On Jan 17, 2020
A facebook user, Adebiyi Gabriel Olajide-Mackson, has cried out over his 15-year-old daughter’s alleged membership of a ‘Marlian Cult’ where girls supposedly do not wear pants.

Olajide-Mackson, who is an elder in an undisclosed church, took to the social media platform to lament how his daughter, a secondary school student, brought shame upon his family after the authorities of the school she attends discovered that she belongs to the said cult where “their rules was that they must not wear pant to school on Mondays, Wednesday’s and Friday’s.”

The Lagos-based man said the school authorities invited him and handed him his daughter’s suspension letter who was punished alongside several other girls.

He wondered if popular Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, whose fans are widely known as “Marlians”, had initiated his daughter into an occult.

Olajide-Mackson asked “Did Naira Marley INITIATE ANYONE INTO A CULT?” in a post he shared on his Facebook page on Sunday.

He wrote: “I am just coming from my daughters’ school right now. Their principal called me around 9am this morning to report to school over an emergency. I panicked and drove over only to be told that my 15-year-old daughter and most of the girls from her class and other senior secondary classes are to be suspended for being members of a female secret cult. They were about 25-30 girls all kneeling down with their hands up.

“I was shocked and I asked for further explanation’s and the head teacher said that a teacher who was disciplining late comers found out that one of the girls had her pant inside her school bag and on further investigation, it was discovered that she wasn’t wearing any on her waist.

“When she was flogged and interrogated further to know why and how she was not wearing her pant, she confessed that she was a member of the Marlians cult in school and that part of their rules was that they must not wear pant to school on Mondays, Wednesday’s and Friday’s. I was shocked. The head teacher told me that she was flogged some more until she mentioned all their members from SS1 – SS3 and unfortunately, my daughter who is a born again child of Zion was involved. Laila, the devil has succeeded and my daughter has entered cult.

“I was handed her letter of 2 weeks suspension and shame nearly killed me. The daughter of an elder and deaconess, i battled hard to hold my tears, I had to bring her home right and God in heaven knows that i will beat that Marlians cult out of her today and her father will finish the work when he comes home this night.

“I wont spare her else the devil wins. The bible was clear on the issue of sparing the rod. I have never subscribed to flogging but i have just given up. I checked her vagina and her hymen is still intact so I don’t understand why she has to leave the house wearing pant only to remove it on getting to school cos Initially I was afraid that she may have been violated or maybe having sex with the cult members or something like that.

“I honestly don’t understand why this girl has decided to disgrace our family like this. Worse is that children of some of our church member also attend the same school and witness the show of shame.

“I banned Naira Marley song or cloths in my house little did I know that his cult has also gone into schools to defile our young ones. I rather die than have a child of mine become a reproach to the kingdom of God.”

BusinessThe Scammers Are Covered By The Nigerian Apex Bank by winningwinner(op): 10:06pm On Dec 24, 2019
Yes, I make bold to say it: the Central Bank or in fact, the Central 'Blunder' of Nigeria is at the top of the game being played by the Nigerian Commercial Banks.

Why do I have to say so? It is no longer news that bank customers are forced to lose huge amount of money to the banks, what is news is that the apex bank knows this and covers their track.

This can be found in the laws and guidelines being dished out by the central bank any time they like. So many people will be jubilating that the Guide, which replaces the Guide to Charges by Banks and Other Financial Institutions issued in 2017, takes effect from January 1, 2020. Hmmmm! This means that the stealing continues till 2020!!!

Yea, the apex bank said it may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in the business environment, but cannot force it the moment it was made. Remember the last time we rushed to make POS transactions and the news we got: "that the CBN instructed a hike for any transaction". It did not take days before every operator adjusted to that hike. We later heard the order was reversed on voice news, yet the status quo remained.

Now, the CBN has asked banks to charge a maximum of N1 per million for customer induced debit transactions to third parties and transfers or lodgements to the customers’ account in other bank on current accounts only, but till 2020....

Pegging the Advance Payment Guarantee to a maximum of one per cent of the APG value in the first year and 0.5 per cent for subsequent years on contingent liabilities is welcome, where the current Nigeria Instant Payments charges for the use of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data will attract a charge of N100 per N20, 000 subject to cumulative N60, 000 daily withdrawal.

According to the guidelines, cards linked to savings account, have its maintenance fee reduced to a maximum of N50 per quarter from N50 per month, amounting to N200 per annum instead of N600 currently being charged by banks. Customers deserve more....

Removing charges for reactivation or closure of accounts such as savings, current and domiciliary accounts was long overdue. But it allowed a N500 charge per request on a status enquiry at the request of the customer such as confirmation letter, letter of non-indebtedness and reference letter.

Account maintenance fee would be applicable only to current accounts in respect of customer-induced debit transactions to third parties and debit transfers/lodgements to the customer’s account in another bank.

The series of charges being imposed on the customers' accounts by banks are enormous and the CBN that would have fought against this is a partner in this broad day light robbery. Imagine the list of subsisting bank charges: ATM card maintenance charge, which attracts over N50 monthly, Account Maintenance fees, which vary with volume of transactions, while an SMS notification fee of about N200/month, with multiple token maintenance fees are charged on all customer accounts.

It is very hard for these banks to reward their customers these days with just a little monthly interests in their savings accounts. The worst is bank deposits charges being deducted after lodgment, even when the money has not gotten to its destination account.

For the past five days now, lodgements and transfers to another account is said to be hanging in the air. The network that hung that money was not able to hang the N52.50 from being deducted from the source account. The banks are truly scamming us...!

A friend of mine transfered money on the 20th of December to his younger one. The money is meant to settle his mother's hospital bill. Till this moment as I am typing this, that money has not been received. Another alternative was applied to get his mother out of hospital.

Do you see how bank customers are made to suffer at various ATM stands just to collect their own money? Many of the machines are not dispensing any money...!

It is high time the CBN puts up a listening ear and hear the cry of the masses and review the activities of these banks, Other Financial Institutions and non-bank financial institutions, so as to align with market developments and alleviate customer sufferings. The Apex Bank should equally cleanse itself of policies that that anti-bank customer friendly. Until this happens, Nigerians and indeed the whole world will always see the apex bank as corrupt and lacking in will power as bank of last resort...
