The world is changing speedily. Scientists say that the surface of the earth at the equator moves at a speed of 460 meters per second, or roughly 1,000 miles per hour. This movement is what takes us to new days, new weeks, months and years. Just as we do the counting, so are so many things we hold dear are going out of fashion. Imagine the baby you carried in your hands at the time of delivery growing past you in a few years later. Life is all about growth. And growth is nothing but changes. Ever heard the saying, 'change is constant'? Yea, change is inevitable. It occurs in almost everything in life. Years back, there exist so many professions that brought people to fame. I recall when watch repairers call the shots in the society; when postmasters and mail runners live large in the society - a time when typists go home with fat salaries every month. These are in the past now. Reason? Change. This same change can in no time sweep away the work of a cashier, newspaper delivery, travel agencies, taxi drivers, etc. and replace them with self-checkout machines, electronic reading machines, travel websites, mobile apps, self-driving cars, artificial intelligence software, etc. Same thing with Engineering, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Journalism, etc. Nothing lasts forever. In the next 10 years, where do you see these revered professions? Read the full text here: http://EzineArticles.com/10396052

In this era of Covid-19 pandemic, a lot has been said about the cure. The United States of America has started administering its vaccine for Covid-19. Africa, including Nigeria has a strong belief that it will overcome the situation. There are reports from NAFDAC that Nigeria will produce its own vaccine by January 2021. While pondering how this issue of vaccine will work out, I stumbled into an article that xrayed Dogonyara plant as having the active ingredients that can deal with the virus. How well do you know NOI before you start vomiting this thrash? She scored higher by the ratings of world leaders to get to this point, only for a nonentity to come and tell me she is not qualified. Following the trending news going on in the social Media, Nigeria & the world at Large concerning the announcement & the launching of the Eastern Security Network by the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra Nazi Nnamdi Kanu on Saturday 12th December 2020 It was gathered that that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu launched the Eastern Security Network and published the videos on the social media. He maintained that the Eastern security Network was created by him & IPOB so as to provide adequate security of lives & property of the entire Eastern region from the menace of the Fulani Herdsmen who have been attacking different towns & villages in Biafra land thereby leading to the death of the Biafran people. Launching of the security outfit generated different arguments from people in questioning the status of the security out. Some people said that it's Biafran army that was launched but now the Indigenous People Of Biafra have come up with a press statement issued by the IPOB media secretary in Nigeria Comrade Emma Powerful so as to clear everyone on the status & operations of the new Easter Security Network. It was gathered that today being the 17th day of December, the Arewa youths consultative forum gave the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu seven days ultimatum to disband security network. While interviewed by the press, the leader of Arewa Youths consultative forum(IYF) comrade Yerima Shetima said that he is giving IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu seven days ultimatum to dissolve the Eastern Security Network or he do the unthinkable or that he will unite all the terrorists in the North to come & fight against the Igbos in the East. Yerima also berated the Yoruba leaders for supporting IPOB leader Maxi Nnamdi Kanu for creating Eastern Security Network (ESN) and promised to be ruthless against them when he finally leads his army. His statement says as follows in qoute " I have watched the video of the so called Eastern Security Network formed by Nnamdi kanu. I welcome this challenge and I will tell Nnamdi Kanu that he is a learner. I will assemble my own warriors including all the terrorist groups operating in the north to be ready. If after seven days, this so called Eastern security Network is not dissolved, then we will March to Igbo land. As for the Yorubas who are the most stupid and treacherous tribe in Nigeria, we are going to see them in a dimensions they won't imagine for this betrayals. Seven days from now, Nigeria will become something else and we are ready for division but before then, we the northern warriors will show Igbos and Yorubas why we are being feared all over the world" This was the threatening statement peddled or issued by the leader of the Area consultative forum(IYF) today & this has Led people to as different questions like. Is the Arewa youth leader the president of Nigeria? Are we not in a democratic society where everyone is allowed to express themselves? Why is it that he have never condemned the attack of Igbo people by the Fulani herdsmen? Why is it that he Shetima Yerima have not condemned the Fulani National security? Is Nigeria really one atall?

Education they say is power. What you never know can cost you a fortune. I have paid dearly because of ignorance. Many people suffer malnutrition because they lack the wherewithal to make ends meet. Something we can simply take care of at home eludes us because of ignoranve. It has made us abhor certain things that could helped in building our lives and stay safe and healthy. Same goes with our perception about cocroaches. Yes, Cocroaches! A cockroach walking across the floor is enough to send shivers up many people’s spines. Little do they know that the same cocroach they avoid today might help in the nutritional values of their lives. This write up tells you why you should never kill a cockroach you find in your house again. Cockroaches are common insect pests found all over the world. Familiar to most people, cockroaches are very resourceful insects that can live, eat, and breed in your home without you even knowing it. While they don’t usually bite, cockroaches can still cause health problems for some people in an infested house or apartment. Some people can experience allergy and asthma symptoms from breathing in cockroach skin and waste. If you think you have cockroaches, do not panic. Finding roaches is not a sign that your house is dirty. Even if you clean regularly and maintain a tidy home, cockroaches can usually find food and water without much trouble. This allows them to thrive in many environments. They are gold’: High protein, high nutrition. Scientists say cockroach meat contains vitamins, protein, and other nutritional benefits, would you give a cockroach shake a try? In fact, lab research has shown that it’s more than three times as nutritious as cow’s milk, buffalo milk, and human breast milk. When I say cockroach, it’s likely that you immediately lose your appetite. But if you can get over your understandable revulsion and scarf a few of their young’uns down, you’ll do your body a huge favour. A 100-gram serving of cockroaches has 24 micrograms of vitamin B12, almost 10 times the RDA. B12 keeps the body’s nerve and blood cells healthy and also helps make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. If you don’t get enough of this stuff, illnesses such as anaemia, heart disease and nerve-system damage are clear and present dangers. The vitamin is also essential for healthy skin, hair, and nails, as it aids in cell reproduction and constant renewal of the skin.” Fortunately, of the 4,500 different species of cockroaches, 99.7 per cent live in environments away from humans. Before you step on a cockroach, you might consider the benefits they provide to natural ecosystems as well as humans. But yes it should be cooked properly to kill its bacteria present on its body. We probably consider eating insects as disgusting especially in western society we don’t even consider them. But in many cultures, especially Asians including cockroaches and other insects they include in their diet. In Thailand, they consider Cockroaches a yummy dish especially when it is deep-fried in the oil to get that crunchy texture and taste. Cockroach milk is a protein-rich, crystallized substance produced by a specific type of cockroach called Diploptera punctata. This species is unique because it gives birth to live offspring. Members make “milk” in the form of protein crystals to serve as food for their developing young. In recent years, scientists have discovered that this milk-like crystalline substance is nutritious and considered a complete food, as it’s a good source of protein, carbs, and fats. Additionally, cockroach milk is considered a complete protein source, as it provides all nine essential amino acids — the building blocks of protein that can only be attained through your diet. High in nutrients Cockroach milk has gained buzz as a superfood due to its nutritional content. Cockroach farming is a thing In China, cockroaches are harvested for medicinal benefits. “They really are a miracle drug. They can cure a number of ailments and they work much faster than other medicine,” Liu Yusheng, a professor at the Shandong Agricultural university and the head of Shandong province’s Insect Association, told The Telegraph.

sapphiere:Hi@saaphiere(f): It's good you reported, but let me say this. When a man sticks out his head to agree to marry, he means it. Same thing with a woman. But what we forget is that the more couples live together, the more familiar they get with themselves. Familiarity has caused so much harm to so many homes because one of the parties refuses to let go (tolerance). That I was made to listen to a story from a lady implicating her husband on issues of domestic violence does not make me to submit to acts of character assassination on the man. I don't know any of them; was not there when they got married; does not know how they got married; etc. I equally do not know how they are living as husband and wife. When the report came, the agencies concerned would among others include Channels TV, the woman, her husband and their family members. Even if you go to court and both families say they are handling it, the court will oblige them pending the outcome. From Channels TV, they said, they are investigating it and should be allowed to do their job. I have read so many instigative messages here on this issue, yet those who know, know! Family issues are not what we can joke with. The problems we are facing in this generation now is as a result of fatherlessness. The position of fathers in a home has been bastardized. Arising from immature fathers to nagging wives and uncontrolled ego, the world receives the end products - irresponsible children! My point for now: please allow the agencies concerned the opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue the best way they deem fit.... |

The Nigerian government's payment of rent for the nation's Presidential Villa has sparked a wave of reactions and questions from among Nigerians. It is uncovered that by 2021, the federal government of Nigeria would have exceeded N400 million as rent paid for the Aso Rock residential quarters. Nigerians, amongst other things, are demanding to know who the mystery landlord is, especially as former Head of State and the first occupant of Aso Rock, Ibrahim Babangida, criticised the government's rent payment claims, asking Nigerian government to explain who exactly are the landlords. The 2021 State House budget, as in previous years, has earmarked N66.6 million as payment for ‘residential rent’, a provision that many Nigerians have described as ‘suspicious’ with questions on if, indeed, Aso Rock is on rent. “I built Aso Rock and I wonder who the current Landlord is. I read a certain N22M for the payment of Aso Rock rent. Rent to who, Me or GEJ?,” Babangida had asked. Aso Rock Presidential Villa was constructed in October 13, 1989 by Ibrahim Babaginda, following a 1976 proclamation by the Military Government of Murtala Mohammed for a more central state capital. On November 1, 1991, the Aso Rock Presidential Villa was completed and President Babangida became the first Head of State to occupy it, moving in on December 12, 1991. Although the controversy precedes President Muhammadu Buhari administration, the item has over the years continued to not only be a permanent feature of state house budget but has increased in the last five years. In 2015, N22.4 million was budgeted as rent payment for state house, by 2016, it increased to N27.73m. Despite the outcry that trailed the previous year and economic uncertainty, 2017 provision saw a massive increase by over 123% to N77.54m. 2018, 2019 and 2020 budgets also provided 66.6 million as rent for payment. Structures in the State House, also called the Villa, include Office and Residence of the President, Offices of the Vice President and Wife of the President, the State House Conference Center, State House Annexe and the Akinola Aguda House. President Buhari, when assuming office in 2015, had promised Nigerians he would cut waste from government spending while its funds would be directed to public good. “The residential payment could be for those working in the state house, living around the villa,” Atiku Samuel a Research Lead at BudgIT explained when asked on the provision. In 2016, BudgIT described the provision as a suspicious item, asking the Federal government to explain why the state house budget should have a residential rent provision. “Why is Aso Rock on rent? Who are we renting the residential quarters in Aso Rock from? Who is the real landlord of Aso Rock?” BudgIT had asked. What remains unclear is who is/are the landlord(s) collecting rent or to what purpose the yearly provision is for. Nairalanders, please help me look into this matter and see if anyone have an inkling on who the landlord(s) of Aso Rock is/are....

The Kano State Hisbah Board has prohibited the conduct of the planned holiday clearance sales tagged “Black Friday” by a radio station in the state. The religious police, in a November 26 letter to the management of Cool FM 96.9 Kano, warned the station’s management that the demography of the state’s residents is predominantly Muslim, hence considers “Friday as Holy Day.” The Hisbah corps subsequently demanded an immediate retraction of the “Black Friday” tag. It added that the religious squad “will be around for surveillance purposes with a view to avoiding occurrence of any immoral activities” in the state. Black Friday is a special shopping period when retailers offer promoted sales to customers. But the sale may be hampered in Kano, where members of the religious police have banned sale of alcoholic drinks, restricted social interaction between men and women, amongst other measures.
