tuzle:Guy, calm down, I know you're part of them. I can tell you that 90% of the agreement signed are breached by these loan companies you work for. They will push you into becoming interested with a bogus offer. You fall for it. Started your registration with all your details imputed. Next thing will be a debit of about N5000 or more from your bank account. Then they will push out some loan apps for you to choose from and borrow your money. You click, the highest any of them can give is a paltry N2000 for 7days to repay N3500 after taking more than that from you. Who is dubious here? Take it from another angle. They got your attention, and you filled their online form, with all your important details. The next is DECLINED. When you try to opt out, you will not be able. Why hold unto your personal information? Who is dubious here? In another way, you downloaded the app after seeing a nice loan offer and good duration, say 90 to 120days, then you register. After all documentations, then the APPLY button comes and you hit it... Alas, there was no option to choose. You're forced to take the amount they offered with a high interest rate and a duration of 7days. I have even come across one for only 3days. Imagine that! However, it takes the grace of God for one back out after giving out one's details. I can go on and on. The worst being that you were given a loan of N35000 to pay back N45000 in 7days with a promise that after payment you will be upgraded to have higher loans and the duration extended from 7days to something higher. You paid and nothing was done. No upgrade for you. You complained and they encouraged you to borrow again that after payment you will get upgraded, yet nothing happens. Who is dubious here? Imaging taking a loan for 7days, and on the 4th day you started receiving calls and SMS to pay up and get higher loans and better duration. You paid, and your duration was not extended. Note that they encroached into your loan duration without compensation. But when you pass a day or two in repayment, they will surcharge you 1k daily and still hack into your contacts to blackmail you. They will still be sending messages to you to borrow more money after labelling you a CRIMINAL in the first instance. So many things can make someone not be able to pay his/her loan at the right time. Imaging going through all these with useless promises that can never be met. Whoever that goes to equity must go with clean hands. Federal Government putting up regulations on them is a nice move. With all these cries about Nigerians not paying loans is a big lie. The loaner and the borrower are business partners (customers). There must be mutual understanding, balance in both sides. Putting up high interest rate so as to make more profit in the shortest time is robbery because you're forcing your customers to pay by the nose. Given something reasonable, those that borrow will not waste time paying back. Take this again. A customer borrowed money and it passed one or two days in payment, courtesy demands that the attention of the customer should be drawn without threat is insults to know why the delays. Most borrowers refuse to pay because of the attitudes of these loan collectors. They bully, threathen, abuse and say all manner of things they will do if the person fails to pay at the moment. Trust me, there are people who don't take it lightly when you threathen them. They will dare you to do your worst... There is need for harmony and regulations... |
Lunex:Did you read the news at all? Cultists clashed with Keke operators and Police waded in. In the course of that fracas some Keke operators were killed as well as some Police officers. Hold the cultists responsible for the dead ones, not the Keke operators. |
Mynd44:.. Who was that? What was the app called? And how was it taken down? Help us clear the air for proper comprehension. |
No. This one can never fly...! Those who planted the IEDs are those who went for it. If you know, you know. Nigeria Army of today has lost everything gallantry and resorted to cheap blackmail and propaganda. If you believe this information you can believe anything... Using an Igboman to do propaganda job in the army is despicable. Army spokesman is a dirty job, my brother run for your life because on retirement, all the lies you have ever told to remain recognized will fly into oblivion and you will be made to face reality. You will return home to the same people you lied against and the government you served can never be of any help again. You will be made to face those you helped kill their children on trumped up charges as IPOB/ESN killers. My brother calm down now and take my advice. That office you occupy today, someone was there yesterday, and that person's voice is no longer loud. Did you find out what actually happened to him?. All the killings in the Southeast by the army and police on daily basis, what are the causes? Why are the innocent people being harassed constantly? Okay, now I understand. The soldiers and the police had a deal. I also remembered when police officers told Nigerians that they will never sacrifice their lives to Boko Haram that the police are not trained for war. That if government is looking for who to fight war, they should engage the army. Even the army are afraid to fight wars today. Remember how many of them threw away their guns and ran away from sambisa. They also paid their wives to go to aso rock and protest against sending their husbands to sambisa. Yea, they now manufactured a safehaven in the Southeast where no war exists, employing their unpopular tactics of war using the state governor as host to fly a war card, while living comfortably. When two army officers disagree and one kills the other, they parade his corpse as being killed by IPOB/ESN members. What a country! So Nigeria loves the Southeast so much as to send the army and police to protect people's lives there? Lies! They want everyone in the Southeast dead!!! There is hatred for people in that area... If the military is well trained in war as they claim, why did Boko Haram last this long? This government told us that Boko Haram has been decimated. The Army General to sold that dummy to us has retired and the Army is still fighting Boko Haram... And Boko Haram is still killing the army. They are still there in Borno and some northeastern states as well as the northwest. Any soldier or police you see flexing muscle in Southeast today is a runaway personnel who has run out of beneficial ideas. Only propaganda and blackmail. Nigeria government, please free your people. Is it madness that government is importing guns and other ammunitions to use them on its citizens...? Who does that? Guns are meant for hunting animals and not for human beings. It's only a COWARD that raises a gun on an armless opponent. Even we watch Oyibo films, during wars with guns, the square it out, but when one drops his gun the other does the same, and the settle it with bare hands. Only the cowards run for arms.... Do we have soldiers or CoWARDS? |
Bauchi State House of Assembly has withdrawn its earlier confirmation of Commissioner of Education, Dr. Aliyu Tilde, citing alleged disrespect of lawmakers during budget defence. The House had on Friday ordered Tilde out of the defence hearing for keeping it waiting for one hour after the scheduled 10:00 a.m. appointment. Chairman of the House Committee on Education and member representing Hardawa Constituency, Babayo Muhammad, said: “We told him we are members of the legislature and another arm of government. He still kept asking who we are. Therefore, we asked him to go. When he realises that we are somebody, he should come back for the defence. We have only eight days, from today, to end the budget defence proceedings.” The House deliberated on the conduct of the commissioner and concluded it had been insulted. It also noted that it has the constitutional power to confirm and or withdraw confirmation of any government appointee. It unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on the commissioner and directed the Permanent Secretary of the ministry to continue with the defence. Thereafter, the House withdrew its August 17, 2021 confirmation of Tilde as commissioner. The Speaker, Abubakar Suleiman, who presided over the plenary, maintained that the House has power to withdraw confirmations. Majority Leader, Tijjani Muhammad Aliyu, also defended this position. The education commissioner who survived the last cabinet reshuffle by the state governor as he made it in the list of the newly appointed commissioners took people by surprise. He was said to be among the powerful men in the governor's cabinet that call the shots in the state, even though not many people likes his method of running the education sector in the state. Meanwhile, when contacted, the Adviser on Assembly Liaison Matters to Governor Bala Mohammad, Sani Burra, said the house has done its part and it is the prerogative of the governor to accept their decisions. Asked to react, Tilde told Newsmen in a text message: “I am ahead of them. No comment until tomorrow, after 10:00 a.m.” In the N195.355bn 2022 budget proposal submitted to the Assembly by Governor Bala Mohammed, the education sector got the second highest allocation of N29.931bn representing 15.3 percent. Though the governor's reaction on the issue is being awaited, it's very important to know if the state assembly truly has that power to remove a state governor's appointee for whatsoever reason. Your submissions are welcome.

adonainana:Yea, you're right, but he was left without a choice... Moreover, he wanted to solve a problem and so couldn't have let go the little amount that came his way. |
Politics has upturned history and made light so many important facts about the economic advancement of the people of Southeastern Nigeria. It is disheartening that certain historical facts that ought to dominate the airwaves and permeate the hearts of our youths are consigned to the dictionaries of antiquity, the obliteration of history in our schools notwithstanding. Talking about the economy of the former Eastern Region, one has to remember that it was planned from ground up by the US consulting firm Arthur D.G. Little. Dr. Azikiwe brought them and they worked with M I Okpara at first, then with Sam Otti and later Eluwa who headed the Civil Service and later with Sir Louis Phillip Odumegwu Ojukwu who at the time was the Chairman of the Eastern Nicerian Development Corporation (ENDC) and also the Chairman of the Eastern Nigeria Commodities Board (ENCB) Louis Phillip Odumegwu Ojukwu also sat as Chairman of 15 multinational companies at the time - John Holt, PZ, Michelin, Costain, Thomas Wyatt, Guinness, GB Ollivant etc He was so rich that he single handedly funded the establishment of the Lagos Stock Exchange but refused to list his company there for fear of losing control His photo still hangs proudly on the floor of that exchange as its first chairman Arthur D Little also worked with a coterie of young Eastern Nigerian economists at the time - Pius Okigbo (PhD Northwestern), Ukwu I. Ukwu (PhD Cambridge), Chukwu Sunday Okongwu (PhD Harvard). These young men in their early twenties worked with Arthur D Little to plan our economy from scratch I, Nnamdi Ezeji, know this because Ukwu I Ukwu taught me at Nsukka and I also worked in Dr Chu SP Okongwu's economic planning firm right during and after grad school in Nigeria. Arthur D. Little recommended the setting up of a university in the East to produce key skills needed to drive economic growth as most of those skills were not being taught in Ibadan at the time Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe sent Dr Akpabio (MA Columbia) who at the time was the East's Minister of Education on an extended tour to universities in Michigan and New York for collaboration in key fields like medicine, engineering,, surveying and photogrammetry and business administration. UNN was the first school in Nigeria to offer many of these courses. Ibadan at the time taught mostly Classics, General Science and later Medicine Palm oil, Palm Kernel, Coal, Cocoa (from Ikom), Coffee from Obudu and later petroleum from firstly Izombe - Oguta area and later from Oloibiri in Ijaw land drove the economy of the East In terms of development, the East started late, compared to the West. Development and education had started in Lagos and Abeokuta right after Beecroft occupied Lagos in 1850s and made it a British colony. Lagos and the SW thus had more than a 70 year headstart over the East in terms of total gross capital formation and the platform that it gave for growth. But after the implementation of Arthur D Little's recommended growth plan, the East's economy grew at more than 9.2%, starting from 1958 till 1967 when the war began At over 9%, the Eastern Region in this period, had the fastest growing economy on earth consistently for 9 years and was estimated to equal Western Nigeria by 1978 (in terms of total gross capital formation) and then overtake the Western Region after that. The civil war truncated that momentum and the East never recovered after that. Louis Philip Odumegwu Ojukwu brought his industrial influence to bear on the growth plan as he singlehandedly pushed for the establishment of not just industrial estates but industrial corridors in the region. An industrial estate is localized. An industrial corridor joins two or more industrial estates to form an industrial conurbation. Industrial estates sprang up across the East TransAmadi in PH. Aba for light industries. Umuahia for biotechnology. Emene in Enugu for steel and industrial automation. Nkalagu, PH and Calabar for cement and building materials. Onitsha as an emporium to drive retail trading. Obudu in Cross River for dairy, holidaying and corporate meetings. Because he was the chairman of 15 multinational companies at the time, he used his influence to compel many of them to buy into the East's industrialization plan. Okpara also partnered with Israel for the setting up of industrial farms and plantations - seedling production, extension services, assistance to farmers etc. So plantations (cashew nuts, palm kernel, cocoa, coffee, timber etc) sprang up in Oghe (Enugu State), Okigwe (Abia State), Obudu, Itumbenuzor, Akamkpa all in Cross River state and in various parts of Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Abia etc. Okpara personally delivered some of the seedlings himself by driving behind the trucks that did the delivery. Sir Louis Phillip Odumegwu Ojukwu pushed for the establishment of 3 major cement plants in the region - Nkalagu, Eastern Bulkcem in PH and Calabar cement factory in Calabar. Nkalagu and PH opened before the war started in 1967. Everything for the take off of the Calabar cement factory was purchased but the war truncated its take off. In 1970, Governor Esuene of the newly-created Cross River State opened Calcemco plant to the appause of many. Three industrial corridors were planned also planned for the East The Emene-Nkalagu Industrial corridor which was to focus on automobiles, building materials and industrial automation. Kaiser Motors in the US at the time (it has since been acquired) had agreed to build a car plant in Emene and a plant for car engines. That corridor was to stretch for almost 100 miles The second industrial corridor was to stretch between PH and Aba. So industrial centers were set up in Trans Amadi and in Aba and over a ten to 15 year period, these two centers were to be linked by many feeder industries that would be located on the highway joining both cities. Okpara had hoped that over time, the PH-Aba industrial corridor would follow the old road between Port Harcourt and Enugu and join with the Emene - Nkalagu industrial corridor to create a massive industrial cornubation that almost imitates the almost 200 kilometer Ruhr Industrial Valley in Germany built under Chancellor Otto Von Bismarck Onitsha was to drive the East's Retail economy and so the market was built there as an Emporium...to attract buyers from all over Nigeria and West and Central Africa so they could come spend their money in the East. Dubai would copy this same model 50 years later and implement it successfully but on a global scale. Onitsha market achieved its purpose by 1958, two years after the East achieved self government. It became the preferred destination for retail and bulk shoppers from a over West Africa and even Cameroon, Gabon and Congo. This gave the Anambra Igbo a head start in retail trading...an advantage that they enjoy till date. All of these development and growth projects were centrally driven by the Eastern Nigeria Development Corporation - ENDC and the revenues were centrally aggregated into the account of the Eastern Nigerian Commodities Board (ENCB). Both groups were headed by Sir Louis Phillip Odumegwu Ojukwu Funds for development came mostly from 3 sources. 1. Local revenues from the export of cocoa(Ikom and Itumbenuzor), coffee (Obudu and Arochukwu), timber (Akamkpa) Coal (Enugu-Udi), Palm oil (Rivers, Imo, Abia), Palm kernel (Rivers, Imo, Abia) 2. Direct Foreign Investments 3. Loans from Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) Umuahia was to midwife the Easts' biotechnology industries which explains why Golden Guinea Brewery and the Root Crop Research Instutute were established there. Obudu because of its pristine hills and its fresh weather was to be a holiday resort for many as well as a primary center for a dairy industry that just started before the war commenced. Obudu Cattle Ranch was the first in a series of investments that got scuttled in Obudu by the war. Lastly, oil was discovered late. Chief Nwodo, Eastern Nigeria's first Minister for Trade (father to the past Ohaneze Chairman) negotiated the first contracts with Shell on a 50-50 investment and sharing basis. Virtually all of the East's oil assets were seized by the Federal Government under Gowon with no compensation paid till date. The Federal Government simply inherited the East's 50% slot and paid nothing for it. Today everyone profits from it Most of the catalytic cracking and downward refineries that NNPC would later build were in the plans that the Eastern Regional Government had for the region. Today, some of those plants are located in far away Kaduna and no mention is ever made of the East. Every Nigerian today depends on that oil to survive including states that claim that they can survive from internally-generated revenues. The political statements by so many people in disaffirmation is just a distortion of history to suit their personal lines of argument. The facts are there for all to see. I believe that rather than whine everyday, we should sit down and learn our history...take a look at the growth plans that got scuttled in 1967 and see how we can work to together to pick up the pieces and build again from scratch.

Is he speaking from the dead? Olumba Olumba that died many years ago is still prophesying to you and you have the guts to publish it online...? Was he speaking from the grave...? |
FuckDModz:But why make things difficult for people? I know someone in desperate need for money. He approached an online loaner through their app and was promised N120000. He filled out the form and submitted. After a while the app boldly and forcibly offered him only N25000 for just 7-days! Because he desperately needs the money, he decided to take the loan. Bravo! Disbursement was made and the amount to pay back in that 7-days was N45,234. Why? He was not given an option to choose... After seven days he could not pay back, not that he didn't want to pay back, but just that the money was not complete at that time. He saw that the money was increasing by N1000 on daily basis and he started servicing the debt by paying in N20000. The next day he started receiving calls from friends and people he had in his contact about a character assassinating messages they were getting. At this point, what good has the loan company done? Why should they expect to be paid with such attitude? Who does 7-days with high interest help? Instead of defending such sharp and ungodly business styles, think of the damages done... |
Safyqueen:Hehehe! They are coming out one after another... Did you contribute a dime to the GOs fleet of Private Jets? Is your money there? The people that gifted the GOs with those jets are not complaining, why are you? The money was not government money though... Up north, they use government money to build Mosques and do all kinds of unnecessary things... You need to condemn such acts. There is no virtue in it... Here, the public outcry is about Pantami's black market professorship, not about Islam or any other religion. Pantami has never been a lecturer in FUTO, only in ATBU Bauchi, where he was not qualified to be a professor. He saw himself in the corridors of power and decided to use his office to force the rank of a professor on himself. People are saying that it is wrong of him to do so, and instead of you to join them and condemn what is wrong, you're bringing in religion. Does Islam permit cheating, deceit, cutting corners, etc as a way of life? If so, the Nigerian President is a Muslim, why did he come into power with the slogan of CHANGE? Is it not to fight corruption? Should corruption be fought one-sided? Pantami was first indicted with unguarded utterances that sympathized with terrorism. The Presidency was quick to absolve him citing that he had since REPENTED of such stand. Given the next opportunity the same Pantami ran to obtain an academic rank he is not qualified for through the back door.... If you stand for him on this as a Muslim, then we will take it that Muslims do not mean well for this country...! |
Safyqueen:Are you saying that Islam is synonymous with cutting corners to get things done? Are you supporting evil because a Muslim is involved? That's too poor...! I don't think you're doing it the right way... Change begins with you! |
yemex04:Not so. The report presented by the former committee failed to answer the main questions that were brought up for setting it up. So, they were either bribed to set aside those questions and hurried to clear Pantami or that they submitted the report under duress... The APC government can do anything... Even all the members of the committee were not carried along in that decision to absolve Pantami from the sham of a professorship. Imaging how the Secretary made a u-turn and presented a genuine report...! That's a good pointer... |
Kay25:Well said. But check the circumstances that brought in the VC of FUTO... Also, the Governor that brought her in, how did he come in? Who made him Governor? The same government that Pantami represents...! So, the road has already been cleared for any illegality to be carried out as long as the powers that be are concerned. Igbo nature has its own problem there, but party politics is at the helm... |
backbencher:Not really. The amount to collect as VAT is already fixed by law. No state can increase it on its own. What they owe FIRS is also the VAT of their total collected VAT as a state. How would that increase price of anything? The status quo is maintained, what is new is the one receiving it... |
yanabasee2:What baffles me is that the dead soldiers are all Christians... Are they the only ones in the military fighting Boko Haram? |
KillIgbohoN0W:Sorry, it seems so. I just saw the same post. I'll take this down. Thanks. |
The Federal Lawmaker, representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal constituency, Akin Alabi, has moved a motion to curtail the excesses of online loan providers in the Country. The major loan providers had earlier resorted to underhanded tactics like harassing the entire contact list of alleged loan defaulters and breaching their privacy in the process. Akin Alabi, in his motion stated that these companies have been operating outside the principles of fair and lawful processing of personal data as required under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation and other relevant provisions on data protection in Nigeria. Alabi called on the CBN to provide better regulation for these financial service providers, and for the the National Information Technology Development Agency to ensure strict adherence to the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation by all online loan providers. In his motion, the lawmaker said, “The COVID-19 pandemic’s far-reaching impact on the global economy has been significant, with evidence(s) cut-across all sectors; to cushion the adverse impact of the pandemic, a rising number of Nigerians are turning to digital lenders to sort out their urgent financial needs, as access to loans from the traditional financial institutions is often problematic and herculean. “This reality is the major reason for the mounting influence of digital lending startups over the last couple of years. These start-ups are able to seemingly simplify the lending process and increase access to loans remotely and quickly; “Aware that while many of these digital lending platforms have been able to foster access to credit and ensure a wider financial inclusion, a number of these platforms are also operating outside the principles of fair and lawful processing of personal data as required under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation and other relevant provisions on data protection in Nigeria; “Concerned that these online loan providers are exploiting the growing need for financial assistance, and engaging in unfair collection practices by subjecting many Nigerians to situations where their contacts (who are in no way privy or consented to any agreement) are besieged with unsolicited messages from loan providers in a bid to force the borrowers to pay; “Disturbed that many of the online loan services have now resorted to this culture of “shaming” as a tactic to get their customers to pay. Tactics which raise questions hinged mainly on privacy violation, intimidation, and harassment; “Also concerned that while going through the privacy notices of a few online lending applications that operate in Nigeria, some online lenders, either do not have a privacy notice or even where they have one, the privacy notice is not comprehensive enough to explain how a user’s personal data is. “Further concerned that recovery agents who also work for these lending firms are unprofessional and unethical, willing to go to any lengths and employ whatever means, including impersonating lawyers and security officers; “Persuaded that the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation was established due to the government’s recognition that information must be safeguarded, regulated and protected against atrocious breaches. As such the Regulation frowns against the illegal processing of personal data; “Resolves to urge the Central bank of Nigeria to develop feasible regulations that can curb the extremism of these unscrupulous online loan providers in Nigeria; “Also urge the State Governments to ensure more stringent regulations that protect the interest of third-party individuals from receiving unsolicited messages not consented to; urge the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to ensure strict adherence to the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation by all online loan providers.” Punch Newspapers: punchng.com ©

ivolt:Why not come out clean and tell us you're one of the IDIOTS that blackmail people and lying against them in the name of collecting debts... You need a life boy...! |
webtutorr:Thanks so much. It's really childish for a loan company to descend so low as this, what are they trying to achieve with this? They are the ones that entered into business deal why are they trying to tarnish people's image, especially in this type of period? Even at that, the people they are disturbing with these messages were not parties to the agreement. They need to be taught the lesson of their life... Imaging blackmailing someone with falsehood in the name of trying to recover their loan...! |
Enough of all these politicians condemning killings of people. For God's sake they were not voted into office to be condemning every act of terrorism. Why wait till it happens...? Nnamdi KANU was bundled home from far away Kenya, Sunday Igboho was arrested in a foreign country too, but we are meant to believe that Killer Fulani Herdsmen are invincible; Unknown Gun Men are still unknown; Boko Haram is untouchable, etc. When will Nigerian government start doing things the normal way that is truly normal? May be the government is waiting for market women to start carrying arms for self protection... If government cannot solve our problems in this country, who then will? Stupid leaders everywhere...!!! |
MMempire:Thanks for this. I salute your courage to stand for the truth. More grace...! |
Hi Nairalanders, I want you to help me with a good advice on what to do concerning a message I received from a shark loan outfit. This afternoon I received a message urging me to act on their behalf concerning a purported friend or relation of mine whom the sender claimed was owing their loan company. They claimed that the person made me one of his emergency contacts. This company did not inform me when the person was borrowing the money using me as one of his emergency contacts, how come they remembered me now that he/she has failed to pay? Again, is it possible for one to borrow money using someone he does not know as emergency contact? Are there no background checks before such loans are given? Back to my story. As soon as this message came, I took my time to run a background check. I discovered that the guy in question was a plumber I engaged to fix some pipes in my house a week ago. He told me how he stumbled into an advertisement by a loan company known as 9Credit who promised him instant loans. He applied and was credited with N3000 for 7days. That after 3days they started disturbing him with live calls and recorded messages to pay up the loan and receive a higher loan offer and an extended loan period. He told me that he paid in the evening of the third day believing to receive a higher loan offer with loan period extension as they promised, but they did not live true to their promises. What they did was to increase the loan offer without extending the period. The period was still 7days. He was falling for their gimmicks until his loan offer increased to N35,000 to pay back N43,330 in 7days. Though there were days he couldn't pay within the 7days limit and was surcharged N875 every day until he paid up along with the surcharges. The days he paid back 3days ahead nobody compensated him with even a little reduction for paying before the due date. Note: He was being scammed here with nice tricks... That even this one that made me to reach out to him was not that he refused to pay back but that he was expecting some money that will help him complete the amount for payment. Also to avoid being seen as a defaulter, he paid N20,330 out of the N43,330 and later N12,000 remaining N11,000. That 9Credit called him in respect to that but he told them he will make the payment in the next three days. They never wanted to hear that even though they are adding to him N875 every day as surcharges. That they now threatened him that they will be calling his contacts. As a result, I happen to be among those on his contact without first verifying if I actually qualified to act on his behalf. And the guy denied ever using my name as a contact person. I believed him because he has been collecting loans from these people before he was introduced to me as a plumber. The message: "Good day Sir/Ma, We are sorry for any inconveniences these may cause you. This is in regard of _________ with phone number 0******** who has failed to pay back the loan he took from NINE CREDIT, we want you to help us reach him and urge him to make payment today to avoid us taking LEGAL ACTIONS against him. Finally, be informed that you are one of his EMERGENCY CONTACTS, we have your information, you can as well tell him to exclude you if you do not know about this loan. ... 9Credit Team". Please my dear people, does this sound like a responsible loan company or a scamming outfit? Who are those behind 9Credit Online Loans? If these people are truly not criminals, why should they involve me using such lies as weighty as they are? Do they know the implications of lying with someone's details online? Right now, I am annoyed and would love to hear from people like you on Nairaland before I do what is in mind to avoid making a bigger mistake. Lawyers among us here can as well help to interpret the above message and let us know what are the legal implications of it. Also, help me find out if these online loaning outfits are established by law and are duly registered and covered by CBN. Where can one report them in case of rights infringement? Thank you.

Buckeyemedia1:I am yet to understand what you're saying... Could you please take a clear stand on the matter.... |
Buckeyemedia1:What is your point exactly....? |
President Buhari is expected to commission some projects in IMO State as stated by the government. Among the projects will include some Roads. In order to show and receive more accolades, the state government has embarked on black painting some old roads in the state to be included in the number of those to be commissioned on Thursday during the president's visit. Surely, Imo State is working....!

donbachi:But I wonder why the salvos that are meant to distract and distabilize us are coming from the Presidency... |
It has been the job of the Nigerian Presidency to pull surprises on daily basis. While condemning Nigerians for rising up against obnoxious activities of bandits, Fulani killer-herdsmen, kidnappers, etc, the Presidency has constantly urged Nigerians to take their matters to God but will be quick to deploy aircrafts and fighter jets against IPOB, whom it has accused of amassing weapons, bombs across Nigeria. For constantly mapping out some sections of the country to test the might of the country's armed forces and the police, the Amnesty International reacted with a strong message to the Nigerian governnent to take a cursory look and run a sect test for itself and come out clean before the public on its fight against banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, etc. Not comfortable with the stand of Amnesty International, the Presidency through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity, Mr. Garbadeen Shehu, swiftly came hard on Amnesty International. He termed the AI for taking side on Nigerian issues, especially where it involves the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) which it accused of stockpiling substantial weapons and bombs across the country. In this statement, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, repeated that the presidency is aware that IPOB has amassed weapons and bombs to destabilse all parts of Nigeria, and the global rights group is not saying anything new, but has decided to side with “terrorists.” The statement read in part: “Again, they have decided to side with terrorists, before the liberty of those they injure, displace and murder. Speaking the language of universal human rights, Amnesty International deploys it only in defence – even outright promotion – of those that violently oppose the Federal Government of Nigeria. “Parroting the line of Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, a proscribed terror organisation, they work to legitimise its cause to Western audiences. This puts them in bad company. “Controversial American lobbyists are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to do the same, laundering IPOB’s reputation in Washington DC. IPOB murder Nigerian citizens. They kill police officers and military personnel and set government property on fire. “Now, they have amassed a substantial stockpile of weapons and bombs across the country. Were this group in a western country, you would not expect to hear Amnesty’s full-throated defence of their actions. Instead, there would be silence or mealy-mouthed justification of western governments’ action to check the spread of ‘terrorism. “Despite Amnesty’s self-proclaimed mandate to impartially transcend borders, unfortunately in Nigeria, they play only domestic politics. The international NGO is being used as cover for the organisation’s local leaders to pursue their self-interests. “Regrettably, this is not uncommon in Africa. There is nothing wrong with an activist stance; there are claims of neutrality when all facts point to the opposite. “Amnesty International has no legal right to exist in Nigeria. It must open a formal investigation into the personnel that occupy their Nigerian offices. They should reject the outrageously tendentious misinformation they receive and bring some semblance of due diligence to the sources they base their claims on. Currently, we see none. “The Nigerian government will fight terrorism with all the means at its disposal. We will ignore Amnesty’s ranting especially when it comes from an organisation that does not hold itself to the same standards it demands of others,” Shehu said. (Nigerian Tribune). It should be noted that as Nigerians are praying night and day that every aspect of banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, etc be defeated, there is a bigger expectation that every evil conspiracy against the people be exposed, disgraced and be dismantled. Nigerians are constantly suffering in their own lands. We all need a better orientation, a better understanding and defence for one another.
