Parachoko: Visit Lagos State, and compare it to other states in Nigeria.
Tinubu have a lot to offer Nigeria.
Lagos State could have been struggling with states like Rivers, Kano, Kaduna and Oyo
But, Lagos State don go far ahead.
You are talking like this cause you were not in Lagos in the 90's
When I got to Lagos in the mid 90's, there was no development happening in Lagos State. The military were spending oil money in Abuja and abandoned Lagos State.
Roads in Lagos was terrible, insecurity was crazy. in the 90s, Thieves go rob a full street without anybody stopping them, dem go dey go from house to house, robbing each rooms one after the other, nah normal thing for Lagos back then. Those days, you go dey see abandon cars for roads, including major roads like 3rd mainland bridge. If your car breakup for 3rd mainland, even if you leave am there for 1 year, nobody go question you or tow the car away.
The IGR of Lagos State was less than ₦500 million in 1999, I don't need to tell you how much is it now.
Tinubu was the first Governor to build a power plant in Nigeria, he built it in Badagry and was going to be generating 300MW of power in Lagos State but the FG took over and ran it aground. If the FG didn't take over the project, maybe Michelin, Dunlop etc would still be in Lagos State by now.
Have you forgotten about OPC madness in Lagos State under the tenure of Tinubu? The days OPC go dey block roads because them dey hold meetings? Tinubu didn't cry and blame Yorubas from other states causing havoc in Lagos, he crushed OPC. He didn't care it was dominated by Yorubas.
Lekki Free Trade Zone, Eko Atlantic City, Lekki Deep Seaport, etc were all the creation of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Maybe you got to Lagos State during the tenure of Ambode sha, we wey live for Lagos during the military regime knows how far Lagos State have come.
Lagos could have not gotten to the level it is right now if the wrong people have been ruling the state. Rivers State is suppose to be competing with Lagos State, but it has been left behind.
I lived in Rivers and Lagos State in the 90's, so I fully know what am talking about Dude I’m in Lagos, what did Bleep did Tinubu do that made him look outstanding? Lagos is still as bleeped as it ever was, only Fashola tried in improving the aesthetics of Lagos. Don’t come tell me how Tinubu improved the IGR of Lagos. Know this Lagos success is hinged on her 30 million strong population which is microtones of the larger Nigeria population, the only reason Lagos attracts huge foreign capital is because she’s a focal point to access nearly 200million strong population. Lagos needs Nigeria to continue to boost about being the fifth biggest economy than Nigeria needs Lagos. If Lagos breaks away from Nigeria, she’ll be a 30 million population, comparable to Togo and Ghana. Which investors would be pumping in billions of dollars for a 30 million population? But Nigeria can still survive with Lagos detached from it, other cities like Ibadan, Abuja and Portharcourt will probably fill up the gap and start attracting serious investment. Stop making it look like Tinubu was brain behind Lagos prosperity, he never was and never will be. Lagos prospers as result of Nigeria large population. Kiss the truth |

The commercial capital of Nigeria So Bleep what? if Lagos hosted Rick Ross, Abuja can also host international artiste , so can Portharcourt and even Onitsha and Benin. Know this, Lagos success is hinged on Nigeria’s huge population and not the other way round If you take Lagos away from Nigeria, Nigeria will still survive but if Nigeria is cut out from Lagos, Lagos will loose big time. Lagos is fortunate to be the commercial nerve centre of the largest population in Africa, Lagos derives her success from Nigeria’s huge population |

Odidigboigbo: 80% of those that comments on this forum are children and 90% are trabalist in their comments, hence they find it difficult to comprehend any post. MDXi is wholly a private sector company, a subsidiary of Mainone as the parent company. MainOne was recently acquired by Equinix. This is not Lagos State government project, in fact, the data centre has been existing since 2005, it's located along Abraham Adesayan Road, Ajah. It's the place where my company host their servers, I have been there for couple of times. Anyone that work in tech companies or in any tech department of a big companies knows MainOne. There are about three major data centres in Lagos, (MDXi, Rack Centre and MTN), and non of them is own by Lagos State nor any government.
These Data centres and any other companies chooses to site their location in Lagos because of the industrialisation of Lagos not because of what Lagos State is doing differently from other States. Don't expect for example a data centre to be build in Uyo, when the market that will consume it is readily available in Lagos. For layman, data centre is a place where company host their servers, which are meant to run 24/7 x 365. So if this data centres are sited out of Lagos where 90% of the head office of the big companies that will consumed it are located, how are they going to get their target markets? Exactly!! Lagos keeps attracting big business because of its huge population. That's what I've been telling some mofos here. They keep thinking Lagos is what it is because of Tinubu's magical wonder which I wonder. If Calabar was still the Nation's commercial capital during the colonial times, i guess calabar will attract a huge a population with big businesses siting their locations there |

PotatoSalad: Beautiful. People in the South East, see we can never have investments like this. We think we're pushing an agenda by sitting at home and destroying government facilities, not knowing we're scaring investors away. No sensible company would want to invest in a place with fickle minded and butthurt individuals By the time we're balls deep in this mess, it'd be mission failed successfully. Even if Southeast was not enmeshed with insecurities, we still wouldn’t compete with Lagos. Lagos is the commercial nerve centre of West-Africa. Lagos is hugely benefitting from Nigeria’s huge population. Port Harcourt ought to have been the nerve centre of the eastern region as Lagos is to western region and by extension West Africa but they lost all that due to myopic thinking. If You check the master plan of Michael Okpara, you’d be amaze the how much plan they put in the Aba-Portharcourt precinct. Port Harcourt would have given Lagos a stiff competition because not only would she be a huge commercial centre, oil wealth would have made her a lot richer than Lagos. People would migrate to the garden-city as a first choice before considering Lagos. But we’ve lost all that to greed and ethnic insecurities |

Politics › Re: Beyond Tolling: How LCC Brings Value To The Society by winterfell007(m): 6:42am On Mar 24, 2022*. Modified: 7:00am On Mar 24, 2022 |
These folks are born liars. the original history of LCC should be known. LCC was previously managed by a private company known as ARM Harith Investment, a subsidiary of ARM group that invested in the project alongside LASG in what we call Public-Private Partnership (PPP). ARM-Harith was meant to manage the project by erecting toll gates at both the Lekki and Chevron axis of the expressway. When they initially began operations, they were considerable in the amount they charge at the toll-gate until the devil entered their head and began increasing the toll price which resulted in protest if some of you could recollect the protest that Kate Henshaw spearheaded. This prompted the LASG under the administration of Fashola to buy out the contract from ARM-Harith thereby best bestowing 100% of the ownership to the LASG. If Lagos State owns the project now, why are they taxing people again, I know we pay road tax whenever we go to renew our licensees. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against tollgates, they improve the quality of our infrastructure but this particular has more to it that meets the eyes. |

FreeStuffsNG: This is very commendable. I plead with them to site the Ammonia conversion plant in Lagos.
There is a fully- secured world-class and operational petrochemical industrial hub in Lekki , Lagos so it is more cost-effective as the Americans do not need to start a new industrial complex or free trade zone elsewhere or located far from an American consulate.
In Lagos, our Lekki petrochemical industrial hub currently has the Dangote Refinery, Dangote Fertilizet plant etc supported by the world-class Lekki deep sea port , a proposed bridge/road to link the hub to oil-rich Ondo state that hosts Chevron and other upstream IOCs which can be connected in 45 minutes max drive time and a proposed FG train network that links the Lekki corridor to the train system to Calabar in the SS , SE and Kano in the north.
This investment is safe in Lagos and the Lekki petrochemical hub is just few minutes on water and road transportation to the American consulate in Ikoyi and proposed new site at Eko Atlantic city.
Please bring this investment and others to Lagos. We have the human resources and infrastructures to make it a safe and profitable investments like others.
Please invest in Lagos today.
Thank you. Lagos is not the only state that makes up the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Akwa-Ibom, Imo, and Bayelsa have huge gas deposits, the ammonia conversion can be sited in those areas too. |
