pascal2young:When your student permit expires then you become illegal unless you secure a job and have workpermit or you start another educational program or you purchase a property then you can live as you want. |
waynee2baba:There is no fixed period for admission processing in Cyprus. Various factors determine the outcome and period. The fastest is undergraduate application which ranged between 2-20 days after application. Graduate application takes time as it goes through 3 to 5 evaluation stages. So the earlier you apply, the better. For Feb 2017, most university will start processing from November 2016. |
Arrihinius:Which university are you applying to? If you want to apply to EMU,CSU or METU...then I can send you my official email address under the mentioned universities. So is better for you to decide which university. We have almost 17 universities in TRNC now. |
godsong: actually it was funny, he got some good slaps and even thrown down from a top of the deck before being taking to police. He will come up with another reason like Cyprus is filled with racism and is bad country bla bla...if asked at home why he was deported. |
Starbeams:I am quite aware of 3 students deported from famagusta months back. One of the students had slight issues with taxi driver, one was peeping at a young Cypriot gal bathing, etc and when they got arrested they checked their passports and found that these students have not registered in university for 1-3yrs and many other talks and were deported. However, I strictly don't believe that Cyprus police has grown wings to be calling people to renew their resident permit. How do they know? Since the permit is not digitally issued. Personally I consider it a joke or future imagination. However, recently the TRNC govt called upon people to have updated permits and give discount/waivers to those that have not done for years. But be aware that contact with police or law enforcement agents these days may require your passport, and without resident permit, you may likely be deported. Try to renew and stay legal! Best wishes ! |
sixtuschimere:He was given honorary doctorate award NOT PhD...they can't award him PhD....All Ph.D.s are doctorates, but not all doctorates are Ph.Ds. These are two different things. |
taiwo92:Next month. Kindly update me via email next month. |
cholov:Congrats.. safe trip |
Adebola2010:You can proceed to the university directly from the airport if the university welcoming team already finished the orientation period at the airport. The cheapest means is to enter KIBHAS BUS services just at the tail end of the exit part of the airport. However, the free few days accommodation is mostly available for students that will be arriving earlier as rooms might be free while most students arriving late may not have such free days in university dorms. Although the rule differs in each university, hence its best to contact the university international center or registrar for updated information few days to your coming. |
reubzs:If you have proofs that you have registered or will be registering you won't have issues. |
reubzs:Yes just one day after your residence permit expired wont affect your entrance at ERCAN. If prompted you will need to show a proof that you are going to register like cash or you have registered already. |
Jayeby001:The stuff is mainly for tourist visiting TRNC not students or those that already had Turkish transit visa AS MEANS to enter TRNC. FOR instance you are not coming to study in TRNC and your passport is not exempted as visa free to enter TRNC....then u need to get TRNC TOURIST VISA in Tutkey or at TRNC office in London and then fulfil those mentioned conditions. |
Jayeby001:For average and normal student, 150-300USD is enough monthly (this means such student will not rent car, will buy foodstuffs and cook, will not drink alcohol, will not womanise/manise, will not play gamble/betting) For those that will rent cars, shopping per month and order food, 500-1500USD monthly should be fine. For those that will rent cars, travel each month, party monthly, order food daily, and buy clothes for their girl/boyfriends, 2000-5000USD monthly should be fine. |
Damsonkc:The following airline can get u to North Cyprus (ERCAN AIRPORT) if you are flying from Nigeria: 1. Turkish airline 2. Emirate airline 3. ETIHAD airline 4. Egypt airline If you are flying from another country then more options are available for you. Visit the website of each airline, input ur flight dates and check the availability and total cost, that way you can compare and contrast. Meanwhile, ensure you check the baggage capacity and refund policy of the airline you intend to buy before you press purchase. It's cheaper mostly if you buy direct online yourself as most agents most time add their commissions. Best wishes! |
wizdavee:Yeah, he can fly as far as he has the transit visa. Also, in Istanbul, there are two major International airports (Ataturk Airport and Sabiha Airport). Turkish flights from Lagos mostly fly to Ataturk while those from Kano or Abuja mostly enter Istanbul via Sabiha Airport. |
willjoe:It may be easy. Actually, there are a couple of students that have done that and not doing badly. Personally, I have not done casual/hustle or part jobs abroad before so I can't say how the students cope, but I have known good numbers of those that were and had been coping that way. The major issues are most of the jobs the students do, are time-consuming, and some jobs may deter their academic focus. Best wishes! |
wizdavee:He can purchase cash on arrival but where the sales of the ticket are conducted at Ataturk Airport in Turkey is a different platform to where passengers from Nigeria will enter the Airport from. It does mean he may be checking out using his Turkish visa to that Platform or if he can have words with the security staffs to allow him to pass the barriers via the opposite side. He can actually purchase this ticket even before he leaves Nigeria, He can visit Turkish Airline, AtlasJet, Pegasus or Onur Air websites directly anywhere and have the electronic ticket purchased online. Also, he can have access to either free and purchased internet services at the airport where he can use his mobile phone or laptop to buy the ticket directly anywhere he is located within the Airport. |
wizdavee:Yes, thats possible. But, for your friend to do that, he must then switch his platform when he gets to Istanbul where he can get the ticket or immediately ask anybody how he can get to that platform. Otherwise, he can use his card to purchase online even before he gets there. Depending on the date, time and airline he can get between 50-150 USD single way to Cyprus from Istanbul. |
Adebola2010:All is well...may be your face resemble Dansuki so the police cert will sure show. and also may be you hardly eat food so he wants to be sure you wont fall sick in Cyprus ![]() Best wishes and all is well!. |
Jayeby001:You will get sim card same day you land. If is EMU they will mostly provide free sims but if not sim cards are cheap and can be seen even at the airport. But I will advise to relax and get to school area to get SIM if your university is not giving free. Also, there are wireless you can use to send a message to your parents via WhatsApp or Viber. Anyway, same day if you land during the day, you will be connected to your people. |
jasonclement:Each university has its own tuition fees and accommodation cost. You will visit the website of the university you wish to study and learn the fees. For EMU/CIU, I have mentioned the aggregate fees for the master program in few pages of this thread. So you can check it or visit the website as I mentioned. |
elijah101:Unfortunately, I don't live near that region I live almost 2 hrs away, I don't know about apartment there. Most university here do give students like 1-5 days temporary apartment for them to settle down if comes much early. During this period he can get apartment himself as there are always adverts on the streets for vacant apartments. Also, he will meet old students in his university that may point him to reasonable apartments. |
elijah101:2500-8000USD per year excluding bills. |
Hollar0186:Visit hospital, there you can be vaccinated against yellow fever, polio etc...they can issue you card showing you have been vaccinated and that can be presented. I don't know how it works in Nigeria, but I recently traveled through Uganda to Cape Verde, at their airport they have a small office where all travelers are vaccinated and charged around 30 usd and are issued this card here.

Adebola2010:Yes. |
thrize001:Yes, you can apply for a visa EVEN when you have not applied for an admission. |
maxpaine:You won't need the travel insurance in Cyprus so even you get for 2 days is okay provided you won't stay more than 2 days in Turkey. Since Turkey is the transit port to TRNC most passenger stays just at the airport within 1 day ONLY...So that requirement should be abolished for transit passengers. |
Adebola2010:NO, don't be bothered if you have copies or any proof you did that. It's just one of the requirements, as far as am concern international passport does the same thing or more than National ID. If you can't find it, just tell them. |
Kj40:Yes, you can move to any part of the world provided you have the acceptable requirements to move to your destination. The requirement may mean qualifications, skills, finance, etc. So you should focus more on what the destination (European countries) required of you and then work towards obtaining those. You can move to another country to continue your education, to work after you have gained employment (received employment offer), going to invest (buying properties) or getting married to the citizen of that country. |
