This 2014 thread has become relevant today as Senator Bola Tinubu is seeking to be elected president of Nigeria. From this report we can see Senator Tinubu's political philosophy and style and how he rose to become a behemoth in Nigerian politics today. |
NaijaCowFarm:Please read this 2014 report of how Tinubu turn Lagos State into his personal estate like Leopold II of Belgium turned Congo into his personal estate. - https://www.nairaland.com/1866463/lion-bourdillion-bola-ahmed-tinubu He wants to turn himself from king of Lagos to Emperor of Nigeria. To me Anybody but Tinubu can be president. My number one candidate is Amaechi because he is igbo, fearless, has political experience, built bridges across the Niger and loves Nigeria. Even though I don't mind Yemi Osinbanjo, I feel that Yorubas should give other southerners the opportunity to aspire for the highest office. They have held the presidency and vice presidency for a total of 16 years out of the 23 years in this 4th Republic. I also would not mind peter Obi, but i doubt PDPbeing held in a stranglehold by Wike and Atiku would allow him win the primaries. And I don't think PDP can win the presidential election at this time. Another southerner that should be looked into is former president Jonathan. I am sure he must have learnt his lesson. This time he should ge tougher on corruption and not marginalise the Yorubas in his appointments. The only problem is he has no platform to run. PDP or APC would accept him as their presidential candidate. |
PointZerom:This is the reason I conclude that democracy cannot work in a poor and illiterate society. Poor people are only after stomach infrastructure, while the illiterate are swayed by irrational emotional sentiments. They don't understand or care about truly altruistic reason like welfare of others and patriotism. In the original Greek concept of democracy, only the elites and intellectuals that were qualified to vote, as it did not trust the poor illiterate masses to make inform decisions about leadership. |
Ihack:I don cover my head with shame already. I admit I made an error of judgement. But, should we be making the same mistake by electing another Sick, Geriatric, corrupt, nepotic, dictatorial and power obsessed person as president? |
kingyakos:Its all about cash. The youth and in fact Nigerians in general are ready to sell their soul to the devil for quick cash. |
MajorOvakporaye:Don't mind them. They are trying to copy Amaechi who filled a stadium in his declaration rally.
|
Slurity:And its only Yoruba that is in the South. And its only Ogun (and Lagos) that is in South West. Imagine, in the 23 years of the 4th Republic. Obasanjo from Ogun was President for 8 years. Osibanjo from Ogun was Vice president for 8 years Now Tinubu from Lagos (although they say he is actually from Osun) and Yemi Osibanjo from Ogun is angling to rule for another 8 years. Not even minding that Dimeji Bankole (another Ogun citizen) and Femi Gbajamiamila (Lagos) were speaker house of representatives for 4 years respectively. Is it only Yoruba that are in the South? And is it only Ogun that must appropriate all political offices allocated to the the Yorubas? Can't an igbo man, an edo man or even another ijaw man rise to the presidency? Jonathan was not even allowed to spend 8 years, meanwhile Buhari that is worse that Jonathan on all indices was allowed to complete 8 years. Please note. I supported Buhari against Jonathan - my own ethnic brother. |
Help2020:Permission granted. |
Help2020:Don't mind him making it about the igbos. It betrays his hatred for the igbos. No tribe and I repeat no tribe likes Tinubu or what he represents. He represents the worst of Nigerian politics - Godfatherism, corruption, political violence and manipulation. But the elites of all tribes (except igbo elites) loves Tinubu. That is because he controls APC and they need his patronage couple with the fact that he bribes them with gifts and cash. |
sokera:Lies. Billionaire ko, trillionaire ni. Tinubu that was living in a rented house on park view estate before he became governor billionaire? Where did tinubu make his billions? As an employee of Mobil? Mr Researcher. You are not different from IPOB. You tribalise everything. Instead of you to debate intellectually, you turn everything to tribal hatred. For your information, the only Yorubas that love tinubu are the political and religious elites, traditional rulers and Agberos, who are on Tinubus pay roll. Most ordinary Yorubas hate Tinubu. Tinubu cannot win election in Yoruba land without rigging, thuggery, intimidation and political manipulation. He cannot even win elections in his Eti-Osa Local Government. The average Yoruba who suffer Tinubu's over taxation and Agberos feels emasculated and helpless. |
Dsalvo:Political naivity. But Obasanjo was in consideration in 1999, when he won the primaries against seasoned politicians like Atiku and Ekwueme and won the presidency straight from prison Yaradua won the presidency was in consideration when he won the president from his sick bed in Germany. Even Jonathan was not in consideration when he won the Vice president and the president two years later without any political base, even in his native Bayelsa. |
Mandate2023:Fallacy of the century. All the presidents since independence with the exception of Obasanjo in 2003, Jonathan in 2011 and Buhari 2015 and 2019 had been without the support of the South West. South West does not give block votes like the North, East and South South. If Amaechi can gather Northern, South South and South East Support, he would not need Yoruba support. |
Munamu:I have been screaming it for the last 3 months. Amaechi is the dark horse in all these. Tinubu and Osibanjo will cancel out each other. |
This is what I call negativism. You take a negative view of life and only tend to see obstacles and excuses for failure. Yes things are bad, but you make it worse that it actually is. lots of people are still making it legitimately. Please read Vincent Norman Pearl's book "The Power of Positive Thinking" to change your outlook towards life. Nasir123:Many many people make it without involving in fraud. I have 2 legitimate businesses and have never been involved with fraud. My wife owns an eatery business and have never been involved with fraud. -[s]Ordinary to register for NIN.. you'll settle (bribe).[/s]I registered for NIN without settling anyone. All the people I know registered for NIN without bribing anyone. You would need to bribe if you want the NIN urgently and want to bypass the system. -Police.. you'll bribeAgreed. But if you have the time to waste and money to spend on lawyers, you might not need to bribe the police. -CAC...you'll bribeWhy will you need to bribe CAC, when you can do all your company registration online without interacting with any CAC official. -Employment... you'll bribeIt depends on the type of jobs and your skills or qualifications. There are some jobs that require certain skillsets and qualifications that the employers are even the ones that will bribe you to work for them. -Driving licence.. you'll bribeWhy will you bribe to obtain your drivers license? The reason you pay more than the official price is because agents are involved most times and because you want it done faster. The official waiting period is up to 3 months. -Any small government contract/matters, you'll have to bribe. Yes all governments are corrupt. Anyone who is not prepared to be corrupt or corrupted should avoid government contracts. So,can it be possible to make it big in this Country as it is now without being Fraudulent? So many people make it big without stepping a foot out of nigeria. In fact many people fail abroad and come back to Nigeria and succeeded. I know someone that did not make it in the UK after 10 years, he came back into this country and started selling okrika. Today he is worth billions in dollars. |
EastisBae:How someone will support Tinubu for the post of President of Nigeria is beyond me. What are his governance and social philosophies. What are his economic and business philosophies? What are his antecedents and achievements. Yes he worked as an accountant for Mobil for a few years and then went on exile. He the came back to assume governor for 8 years. In those 8 years he institutionalized agbero, so much so that all Lagos residents and businesses are at the mercy of agbero. He used thuggery, bribery and election rigging to hold Lagos as his personal estate. He installed his larkies as traditional chiefs and rulers including the Oba of Lagos. He installed his acolytes in every political post in Lagos, from local government chairmen to house of reps to even federal house of representatives and Senate. He installed his wife as senator representing Lagos, his daughter as Iya oloja and his angling to install his son as governor of Lagos. Lagos is becoming a monarchy with King (Ashiwaju) Bola Tinubu as Emperor. And you guys want to replicate the same thing in Nigeria? God forbid. Tinubu only care about aquistition of power and wealth. He had never been interested in the welfare and suffering of the masses. |
tinsel:Was it Governor Ganduje that made the statement? Here is a quote from the article: The governor, who was represented by the Managing Director of Kano Road Traffic Agency, Dr Baffa Dan’agundi, said it has become necessary for Northerners to reciprocate the gesture of the people of South-West in 2015 when they supported Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to become the President.See the low ranking officer that represented Governor Ganduje, a mere LASTMA equivalent. What happened to the deputy governor or even the commissioner for transport? Governor don't commit until the last minute. |
AmazonTopaz:I just don't understand why Paul hated women. Maybe he was abused by his mother as a child or he was jilted by a lady in his teens. His view on women as less than a man is the predominant view of Christianity, which is at variant with Jesus's views on women. I think Christianity should be renamed Paulinity. Because the predominant doctrines are perdonal views of Paul and not of Jesus or his disciples. |
rollywise:Abeg explain further. You mean in separation the family is living in separate homes but still married, while with divorce they are also living in separate homes, but not married. Please note that I was not referring to the legal meaning of divorce. What if they are legally divorce but are still living in the same house? So what was pastor Enenche referring to in this message? Remaining married but living in separate houses? |
abobote:You can't win the presidency in Nigeria without the votes of the north. The South West Yorubas don't give block votes. The best APC could get in the South West is 60% of total votes cast. Most times the person that wins South West doesn't get more than 55% of the votes. South East on the other hand gives block votes, but the number of votes from the South East region is the least in Nigeria. The South East just don't come out to vote during elections. Due to IPOB and lack of interest in elections in general. Meanwhile the North apart from having the highest number of registered voters, come out enmass to vote. Even underage, overage and foreigners from Niger and Chad come out to vote. And the vote in block. So you need votes from the north to be able to win the presidency. |
WibusJaga:Christianity has been weaponized as a tool to exploit and oppress the weak and vulnerable - especially women and children. |
Biafra will become Biafraistan when kanu and Ekpa takes over. Biafraistan will make North Korea look like paradise. |
Nigerian Economy Loses Over $1 Billion Dollars Every Week to IPOB Sit-at-Home Protest - Financial ExpertIf Nigerian Loses Over $1 Billion every week because IPOB sits at home one day every week, then imagine how much Nigeria gains by working 5 days (Tuesday to Saturday) every week? That means Nigeria makes over $5 billion every week from Biafra (5 Eastern States) that observes sit at home. Then if we extrapolate for the whole country, Nigeria must be making over 20 billion dollars every week or 80billion dollars every month or close to 1 trillion dollars every year. IPOB is a group of illiterates going led by semi illiterates. |
rollywise:Me I no know English o! What is separation, what is divorce? |
LibertyRep:Why? What do you expect a minister of transportation to do? Should the video not be shown the Commander in Chief, the chief of defense staff, the chief of army staff and the Inspector General of Police instead? |
This man is speaking from both sides of his mouth. Divorce is not allowed under any circumstances, but instead of killing them return them back to their father if you can't love them. |
musicwriter:Abeg helep me ask am if there was any one called Jesus in first century Palestine. Then ask am if Joseph and Mary named their son Jesus. Finally ask am how the name Jesus came to be. |
Siwel25:I still say you are naive about Nigerian politics. Yes I agree that Tinubu is the most powerful candidate nation wide to win the APC primaries and even the general elections. But .... there is a big but. The person whose rules Nigeria is often determined by the political and military class. The the most important member of the political class is the president, while the determinants of the military class are the generals - Obasanjo, Babangida, Abdulsalami and Danjuma. That's why you see all aspirants go to Ota and Minna to get the blessings and support of the generals. Traditional rulers have little or no say on who becomes governor not to talk of president. Governors have a powerful influence also. If the president and the Generals agree on a candidate that is not Tinubu. He will be offered compensation to step down. If he does gra gra, they will deal with him and his businesses. EFCC will go after him, his Alpha Beta and all his businesses. Obasanjo used the same tactics against Babangida when he stubbornly refused to step down for Yara dua, who was the anointed candidate of the president. Obasanjo simple locked up Muhammed Babangida and EFCC started investigating Glo. Babangida had to forgo his presidential ambitions before Obasanjo left him, his family and his businesses. To me I feel Babangida and his fellow Generals have settled for Ameachi. I might be wrong, only time and intrigues will make things clear.

Siwel25:Sorry to say, you are politically naive as regards to Nigerian politics. Political season is harvest time for Nigerian politicians. They escort anyone with money to throw around. When the time comes, they will still support who they will support. Sometimes the highest bidder. Even Tinubu himself was been guilty of campaigning and supporting his party's presidential candidate only to collect money at the end of then say to support the opposition candidate - President Jonathan. Amaechi don't need to win Rivers to become president, although I doubt he will lose rivers if he is the party's candidate. To me Amaechi would win most of the Niger Delta including Bayelsa. The only problem will the whether the south west would support Amaechi after his confrontation with Jagaban. To me the people that hate Amaechi most are the core eastern states, as they are yet to forgive him for betraying their hero. |
Let me first reteirate that, if the allegations are true or if the man slept with his daughter even with her consent, then the man should rot in prison and then continue to rot in he'll after that. Having said that, the story get as e be, it does not make sense. First of all the girl has presented zero evidence her father slept with her - forcefully or with her consent. The case would not pass in court. Then there are numerous holes in the story which a lawyer can easily point out. Here are the most obvious ones. said that the alleged defilement started after her mother relocated to South Africa in 2014.The defilement started after her mother relocated to south africa in 2014. But this is 2022, 8 years later, and she is 16 years old now. It means the defilement started when she was 8 or 9 years old. Meanwhile, in another statement she alleges: “I was 14 years old when the incident happened. It started with him touching my body.So when did the alleged defilement start? “When I noticed this, I moved away my body from him. I told my twin brother about it the following morning, but he did not believe me.Why did her twin brother not believe her, and why not tell her mother or any other family member? She testified that her father continued to defile her even after they relocated to Badore, Ajah, Lagos State. The timelines and locations are very confusing. Where did they relocate from and when? How come he was having sex with the girl constantly everywhere in the house, with the girlfriend and twin brother living there, and even on a public beach and no one noticed or heard her scream? The father and moved her and her twin brother over to his girlfriend's house and still continued to have constant sex with her and still they did not notice anything strange. She said that her father asked her to pack out of his girlfriend’s house one midnight but she objected and neighbours waded in.This is the part I don't understand at all. There father told her to pack probably due to a quarrel, the neighbours even waded in, and then she locked the door because she was afraid he might rape her again? When the whole neighbourhood is aware of the situation? it was after the intervention of the landlord and other people begged the father not to evict her that she finally accused the father of raping her and for some years at that. While responding to questions from defence counsel, Mr Buhari Momoodu, the teenager testified that she was once defiled before her father had canal knowledge of her.She said she was even defiled before her father ever slept with her. She never mention by whom, when or where. He said that his findings showed no fresh injuries on the vagina but showed that the survivor had repeated forceful vaginal penetration. This is the part I find confusing. Evidence of forceful vaginal penetration? By whom and when? I though the father was not able to have sex with her on the night in question. Or was it the alleged constant and regular rape of the past years that caused evidence of forceful vaginal penetration? |
hotseat:Amaechi is not running against Ethiopians and Kenyans, he is running against Tinubu and possibly Atiku or Peter Obi, (that is if he is able to win APC primaries). He is only showing he his fitter that his potential oponents. Just like the story of the lion that his chasing you and another person. You don't have to outrun the lion to survive, you only need to outrun your opponent. |
dayo23:You forget the north is a feudal society. The average aboki in the street vote for who the cabal (Emirs, Imams and political leaders) tell them to vote for. |
Tareq1105:Watch the event before you start talking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwqavSyFjw4 Simon Lalong presence alone represents the northern governors as chairman of the Northern Governors Forum. |
