xelly:Who are the we? If you are talking about the Federal Government, they are not interested in security and other core issues. They are only interested in sharing of money and the perks of power. If you are talking about citizens, then it is pertinent that the citizens must protect themselves, their families, their properties, communities and their land. General T.Y.Danjuma had advised citizens to defend themselves ages ago. Even El Rufai after talking with Buhari realised that self help is the only option left for us. |
NamelessOGBENI:Even this Imam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvzExcHsPsM |
xelly:We don't have what can be regarded as police, Army and Air Force anymore. The Police are more interested in running after yahoo boys (or youths that looks rich). They spend most of their energies and resources pursuing and extorting young men. The other ones not on the streets are acting as domestic help for politicians and big men. The army are only after oppressing civilians. They prefer to live among civilians in cities where they live very comfortable lives. The Air Force? Does Nigeria still have an Air Force? How many fighter or reconnaissance planes does nigeria have? I wonder what the day jobs of Nigerian Air Force officers entails, outside beating up civilians. |
Maxymilliano:Wailers you say. So you mean daily trust should not join the growing list of all Nigerians wailing the killing of Nigerians by terrorists on a daily basis, while Buhari seems unconcerned. The growing list of wailers have included the members of the House of representatives, the Kaduna state government and even Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu, who had to cancel his birthday even due to wailing. Buhari government seems to be the most incompetent government since government came into existence. In saner climes, the government should have resigned long ago. Jonathan that I vehemently condemned his incompetence in handy Boko Haram was not this incompetent |
safarigirl:Don't mind them they don't have kids yet. When they start having kids and both parents need to work in order to make ends meet (even with both working the ends never meet anyway), either parents can't afford to stay at home with kids. Taking the kids to school as soon as they are weaned is the next best thing to hiring a nanny. |
SmartProf:To me both muslim and Christian religion should be banned in Nigeria. Both have created more harm than good to the society. A religion that its adherents can kill, kidnapp and rape innocent women including children while shouting "allahu Akbar" and then immediately going to pray has destroyed human conscience and humanity. A religion that promotes corruption and acquisition of wealth through any means necessary as evidence of blessing, and then showing of such in a public display in thanksgiving or in so called testimony has also destroyed conscience and basic humanity. |
BRATISLAVA:Believe me, his Hollywood career is over. No producer or director will ever star in in a movie again after this. He might still make in in Rap music though, where violence is celebrated. |
Savagery101:Whether freedom fighter or slavery fighter, violence is never the solution. Violence only begets more violence until everyone is consumed. |
gidgiddy:To you kanu can call for the killing of your wife or mother, and he will not be inciting violence. With all the evidence supplied by the good people of nairaland, you are still living in denial. Kanu just like Adeyinkas son or Shakau are instigators of violence and deserved to be removed from the streets. |
boyfrank:Ukraine industrialized? For where? What industries does Ukraine have? Ukraine is industrialized and they are always begging the US for aid and military hardware. Japan and Germany had a massive military industrial complex, they did not beg anyone for military equipment. Germany conquered most of Europe, japan conquered most of south east Asia including China, and you are comparing with Ukraine that is always begging everyone for help. Germany also almost defeated Russia if not for massive military aid from the US. You are a poor student of history. |
gidgiddy:http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/06/26/nigerians-should-ignore-hate-messages-from-radio-biafra-says-nbc/ Oya next excuse.
|
hammer567:Does Kumuyi not have freedom of opinion and expression again? Is preaching one Nigeria a crime in igboland? SIMON EKPA IS DEALING WITH PASTORS IN THE EAST.Dealing as of how? UNDERSTAND SOMETHING ABOUT IPOB, IF YOU CROSS THEM, THEY WILL COME FOR YOU.Like ISIS or Boko Haram that cannot be crossed? GO AND SEE WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO SOLUDO.What are they doing to Soludo? Do you think Anambra people will allow you to do anything to Soludo? |
IhateYouMan:Then you only started listening to Kanu. Kanu of 2014 to 2017 was an advocate of violence. He even went to world igbo Congress to solicit for guns. He hated Yorubas calling them all sorts of names ie Ewedu eaters, Afonja, Bastards. Traitors, demons, etc. During that time there was beginning to be hatred between yorubas and igbos, who hitherto had had good relations for decades. That hatred is yet to subside even today. He even preached hatred against fellow igbos who did not buy into his ideology. Remember Ekwerenmadu. |
hammer567:This video was 2020 after Kanu had toned down his hate rhetoric. Kanu from 2014 to 2018 was spewing hate on radio up and down. He even promised to bring Buharis head on a plate. |
gidgiddy:You people live in denial. kanu started his campaign from radio biafra London inciting hatred and violence against Fulanis and Yorubas. He seemed to have toned down his rhetoric lately, but the seeds of hatred he sowed had terminated. |
IhateYouMan:But Igwe Kanu's son and his radio biafra was advocating for genocide and extermination against Fulanis and Yorubas. He even pronounced a fatwa against Pastor Kumuyigoing going to preach in Aba. |
Igbofam: The ferocity of those bombings is on full display here and it is hard to see how any of the more than 60,000 of the town's residents could return anytime soon. Most buildings are either destroyed or damaged beyond repair. |
boyfrank:Ukraine is not Germany and Japan. Germany and Japan were highly industrialized, educated and rich before the war. So re-building their economy and infrastructure was relatively easy. Ukraine was highly corrupt and struggling economically before the war. It would be difficult rebuilding after the war, even with foreign aid. |
morikee:The Russians don't have enough troops to hold the whole country. They definitely don't have the numbers to hold villages and towns. They are only after the major cities like Kiev and Lviv. They just want to destroy the town's and villages and then move on. |
donjahsy:How can he pretent IPOB does not exist when they ground the state every Monday? How can Soludo pretend IPOB does not exist when civil servants under him cannot perform their duties every Monday? How can he pretend that they don't exist when school children are unable to go to school every Monday? You want Soludo to behave like the proverbial ostrich and hide his head in the sand pretending there is no trouble. A governor who really wants to develop his state and his people will never allow that "sit at home nonsense ". If that nonsense persists for more than 3 years, Anambra state would become as terrible as Northern States economically and educationally, and productive youths will start migrating out of the state. |
Ojiofor:Imagine. When IPOB is designated a terrorist organisation, you guys kick and scream "we are a peaceful organisation that only wants a referendum". But here you guys are supporting the group terrorising and threatening a governor. The argument of the OP is that because IPOB is capable using violence to terrorize anambra people into sitting at home, the governor should let them be. Don't compare Soludo with Uzodinma. Uzodinma is an illegitimate governor and does not have the support of the Imo people. Soludo on the other hand was validly elected and is hugely popular. If IPOB goes against Soludo, Anambra people will go against IPOB. |
imran90:Parents feed me for ever? How did you arrive at than conjecture? Do you know how many mouths I feed, both family and staff. Even my mum is under my roof. Anyway you sound like a kid who is looking for easy life. I hope you are not into yahoo. People that oppose the government in China, Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and in many other countries would probably be 12 feet under. So the country is a sinking ship and so you jump into another ship, even though the crew and passengers of the new ship says they don't want you in their ship. What happens if that ship also start to sink, you jump into another ship. That was also how the Jews for most of their history were migrating from country to country until they realised they are not wanted anywhere else and so decided to go back home and fight to reclaim and develop their land. Don't worry when you run away from your lands, Fulani herdsmen would gladly take over and claim the lands. |
CAPSLOCKED:Gbam. The bible God is identical to President Putin - narcissistic, dictatorial and incompetent. They both launch a war they cannot win. They both employ lies, fables and propaganda and then threats to ensure their followers and supporters fall in line. The bible Satan is like President Zelensky,he wants total freedom and democracy for his followers. |
Jaqenhghar:How many Americans, Austrailians, Norwegians, Japanese, Afghans, Iraqis, etc., migrate to other countries purely for economic reasons. Then when you all migrate, who do you leave your fatherland for - Fulani people? And you people will be complaining Fulanis are taking over your lands. Most people of the world fight and go through hardship to protect their lands. We on the other run away at the slightest signs of discomfort or trouble. Those countries you are running to went through much worse situations while developing their lands. As they say Rome was not built in a day. But our people just like our women want "ready made", we are not ready to go through the pains of developing our lands or nations. |
somehow:For how long will your friend adjust to the sanctions. If the war stretches up to 6 months and the sanctions are not relaxed, the Russian economy will be in tatters. Add to that the social unrests that will engulf the country. People are quiet now because they are afraid of Putin. When hunger sets in, the fear of Putin will not hold the people back. I will not want to be in Russia when the riots starts. |
MideMrPossible:In the words of Bother Shaggi "e shock you eh". You enter country in the midst of a full blown war, a country under economic strangulation by the West and a country on the verge of a confrontation with NATO, which will probable go nuclear. Abeg buy a geiger counter and locate all the underground nuclear shelters as soon as possible. |
Originalsly:I agree that the Afghans should fight for themselves. If they don't want the Taliban, then the onus is on them to fight the Taliban. The west can only offer support. With amount of support the West gave the country for decades, they still refused to fight the Taliban. @ topic .... almost worldwide... all schools were shut down indefinitely for months. Was that a problem? Then why is there a problem if Taliban shut down parts of girls ' s schools indefinitely? Those against show that you're not brainwashed... explain ... not give the that's different zombie reply.Schools were shut down for a reason - to curtain the spread of a pandemic. Schools are usually shut in times of crisis like war, pandemic, social unrest, natural disaster, etc. Why is the taliban shutting down schools and for only girls? Are women that inferior that they don't deserve an education? I see nothing wrong in their decision. You must not see nothing wrong with Boko Haram (Western Education is forbidden) also. If so, I hope you did not go to school to be able to write such good English. |
MYND44issaSMOKER:No one can liberate you but you yourself. Africans still need to learn that hard lesson that only you can liberate yourself. The Afghans have to wake up and liberate themselves and stop waiting for the west to liberate them. The Ukrainians have learnt this hard lesson and are fighting viciously to liberate themselves. |
janedonez:They are not listed as endangered yet, but their numbers are getting critically low and most countries have banned trading in donkeys. See this aljazeera report. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOCIgG-MRT0 |
janedonez:You guys are just getting overly emotional. The FG along with most countries of the world are banning or discouraging the killing and trading of donkeys. I know the law on the ban Killing and trading of donkeys had passed through first and second reading, but I am not sure it had been made law yet. Bill to prohibit killing, export of donkey passes second readingDonkeys that used to be a common feature in nigeria and West Africa is becoming an endangered species. That's how we killed of elephants from West Africa due to Ivory trade. Even though I sympathize with the guy whose goods were seized by customs. I am somehow appalled that a whole truckload of donkeys (a very non aggressive animal that had helped man to carry load for centuries)were being slaughtered in such numbers for profit. The guy did not do his due diligence before embarking on the business on such a scale. Forget the papers he obtained. In Nigeria you could get any paper you want for the right amount. The ministry guys are only after bribe. People had been arrested for trading just a couple of donkeys, and this guy was caught with a truckload. I am sure he was not aware that trading in donkeys in Nigeria is controversial, else he would not have done strong head and would have negotiated with the custom officers (bribe). I really doubt the guy can win this. The government officials that gave him the papers would deny the papers were genuine when they get to court, as the whole thing looks bad. If NYSC could deny Kemi Adeosun's discharge certificate, what is a few ministry papers. |
mekkha19:Read what I wrote before your comment. He engaged in an illegal business . It's like telling someone caught with 200 million naira worth of marijuana to Tag NCS, Ministry of Finance, Mike Ozekhome, Femi Falana and the likes. |
Munzy14:It's not every time you need to play the victim card. Trade in donkey meat is prohibited in Nigeria. Trading, eating of donkey illegal – FGThe OP should have done his due diligence before embarking on the business on such a massive scale. If he is not careful he will not only lose his goods but also lose his freedom as he could be arrested and prosecuted.
