adadike:Celebrated by who and for what? I hope it is not for extra ordinary feat as regards the oldest profession. Who told you she is your fellow igbo? Did she tell you she is igbo or you just ascribe igbo to her? You guys are in the habit of allocating tribes to other people. |
adadike:When will you celebrate your own, or are you saying you don't have any personal achievements worth celebrating? And who tells you she is one of your own? Does she even know you exist? |
oilPUSSY:It is beyond your IQ level, hire an interpreter who can translate it in igbo. |
BuhariAdvocate:But Phillips is an Igbo name. |
adadike:You must really have a very low sense of self esteem, if you only feel special because of the individual feat of another person you have no idea of. I have a little nephew bearing my family name, who got the highest JAMB score last year, and I don't know how that would make me feel special |
oilPUSSY:I was expecting the igbo Amaka crew to get an euphoric high, and I am not disappointed. The mere appearance of Tochukwu in the name of the girl and boom, euphoria. No further question ask as to whether she is actually igbo or not. I never knew igbos are surnamed Phillips. They did not even bother to ask further what grading system was used where she scored 6.9 GPA out of 4. This racist or tribal profiling of foreign citizen, just because they bear a resemblance of igbo name would one day cause problems for the igbo nation. Instead of celebrating the achievements as an American feat (the girl might not even identify with igbo), they promote the girls achievement as a black igbo feat. How, do you think the Americans that gave her the opportunity to feel? I have never seen captions like whites are superior to others, because of one or a few white people's individual feat. Neither Asians, Indians and even Arabs. But some igbos have this psychological need to prove superiority based on individual efforts of others. |
Kulas:Delusion of the highest order. Who are the others igbo are above? |
fintol:What of the igbo men (and women) that became governors, senators, ministers, etc? What did they do? Is the president the only position one can make a difference? |
LazyGold:God bless you for bringing evidence of crass tribalism (it not undiluted clanism by igbos. Abakiliki igbos will not vote for an mbaise man as ordinary councillor not to talk of voting a hausa man. Most of them screaming " have any non igbos contestant for positions in igboland " see the name Abubakar or Olusegun on a ballot paper, contesting for a local position in their town or city, the first thing they will scream is "Tufiaka" god forbid, even if the person s of know integrity and his father was born there. Let me also ask; how many women have ever won elective posts in igbo land? Or are they saying igbo women also do not come out to seek political and appointive offices. |
raker300:The question is how many non igbos have gotten political appointments in igboland in the last 20 years? |
QueenVaji:Do you have comprehension problem or your hatred for hausa Muslims has affected your comprehension. No where in the report did it say that the marriage was between Three 10-year-old girls and an 11-year-old boy. The report did not specify who the 3 girls and the 1 boy married. |
charliboy654:The cases of minor marriages is very infinitesimal compared to marriage between an adult male and small girls. When two minors marry, it's usually an arrangement between the parents as the two will continue to be catered for by the parents. |
Excuzeme:You guys can defend the US with your lives, I hope you have a green card. No where in the report did it say that children marriage is restricted to marriage between 2 minors. Read the actual report here - https://www.forbes.com/sites/unicefusa/2018/10/29/what-you-need-to-know-about-child-marriage-in-the-us-1/amp/ |
Obviously Egypt must have accepted Christianity before Ethiopia, because you must go through Egypt before you can get to Ethiopia from Palestine. Christianity could not have jumped Egypt. |
adem30:If it is 23 old men passing a law criminalizing abortion by women, they would rush to sign it, but signing law to criminalize rape of small girls in the guise of marriage, they would not sign. America is beginning to look more and more like a Christian caliphate |
You guys have a condition known as Parataxic distortion. It is a psychiatric term first used to describe the inclination to skew perceptions of others based on fantasy. This is to give yourselves a false sense of importance. Stingman:You obviously have no idea what invent and technology means. 1. Uli Airstrip: Although Igbos were cut-off from the rest of the world during the civil war, their ingenuity came to the fore as they constructed the Uli airstrip and when that airstrip was bombed, they repaired it in record time and under the most trying circumstances. They would go on to repair Uli not once and not twice using Igbo technology. So an airstrip is now an a technological invention or innovation. An strip is simply a strip of land that an airplane can land on. It could be a wide tarred road or simply a grass clearing in a bush See the great gbotechnological feat below; Relief flights landed at Uli, codenamed "Airstrip Annabelle", the only operational "airport" in Biafra. At the height of the airlift it became the second busiest airport in Africa after Johannesburg.[21] The bush landing strip was a widened road and had no instruments or navigation gear 2. Fuel from palm fruit: The Igbos refined petrol from a variety of non-fossil fuels, including from but not limited to palm products (from which they also produced diesel). So biodiesel is now a great Igbo technological invention. Una no go kill person with laughter. Ordinary vegitable oil can even run diesel engines without any modification to its engine. See more here - https://www.streetdirectory.com/travel_guide/54078/mileage_and_fuel/vegetable_oil_as_substitute_for_diesel.html 3. War Missiles (Ogbunigwe): Using the same Igbo technology, my fellow countryman – Gordian Ezekwe – manufactured surface to air missiles which Igbos also adapted to surface to surface missiles.I will not discuss much about this Ogbunigwe, because I know you guys have invested so much emotion, pride and ego on it. Any debunking of your fantasy will only elicit a strong emotional response. If you tell me that the Biafrans are masters of improvisation, I will agree, but to say the Biafrans "invented" and produced missiles, tanks, guns, aircrafts, armoured personnel carriers and ammunition within a few months of entering a war in Nigeria is unrealistic. Even Hitler used over 5 years to prepare for his war. Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan once said: “In fact, when in 2012, the Nigerian Army rolled out the igirigi and promoted it as the first indigenous armored personnel carrier, they were wrong.I will prefer to say the first indigenous"assembled" personnel carrier. The parts are simply imported and assembled in Nigeria, just like when Peugeot was made in Nigeria. We don't have manufacture steel sheets, we don't manufacture engines and gear system, we don't manufactures tyres. |
malvisguy212:You guys are so irrational. The fear of death is hardwired into the DNA of every living creature, even plants. Funny enough theists, especially Christians fear death more than any group of people I know, despite their passion to go to heaven. That's the real Cognitive dissonance. I, don't fear death itself, what I fear is the pain associated with death, the physical pain I would suffer before death and the psychological pain my family would suffer. |
Evangkatsoulis:The will to survive, the need to love and be loved and the freedom to give life any meaning i deem fit, drives me everyday. For those(atheists) suffering everyday doing hard labor or earning below living wages or sickle cell patients etc., what stops you from quitting(commit suicide)? The same thing that stops a theist from committing suicide, the hope for a better tomorrow. The only difference is while a theist believes a better tomorrow is only possible with prayer, fasting, deliverance, etc (God), an atheist believes preparation and hard work would lead to a better tomorrow. Incidentally, suicide by theists is far more prevalent than suicide by atheists. How do you find meaning in life? Cognitive dissonance? Or what philosophy of life do you subscribe to?The meaning of life is the meaning you give to it. To Christians, the meaning of life is fellowship with their brethren and jesus, an aspiration to the Christian heaven. Similar thing for the Muslim. The difference being, instead of a materialistic heaven as the Christians, the Muslim heaven is an erotic one. To me my philosophy is the old age philosophy of live and let live. Do onto others as you would want them do unto you. |
kutchs:There are many ifs. Ifs don't translate to reality. Military technological advances requires sound science and technical education and a military industrial complex. It requires advanced metallurgy and material science, it requires a machine tools industry and of course adequate power infrastructure. Which of these things did/do the igbos possess? |
kutchs:Why is it difficult to show these wonderful igbo technological inventions that is greater than that of the US in this age of the internet? Are you guys hiding these technological inventions from the world? |
The lawyer asked the court to clarify whether the Constitution or any other law for that matter, permits the President to exercise Presidential authority over the affairs of Nigeria from any country outside the territorial jurisdiction of Nigeria, save when he is out of the country on official diplomatic engagements. To insinuate that the president write the national assembly each time he leaves Nigeria is not only senseless, it is impracticable. Even in the US from where we copied our democracy, the US presidents goes abroad for days without the need to inform the Congress. Furthermore, Trump often spend days on his Maralargo resort without any issues. What the constitution says is that the president must write the national assembly if he is taking a holiday or if he is unable to discharge his duties due to other factors. It did not say hello must write everything he leaves Nigeria, even on private visits. This lawyer must have a different constitution from the one we are currently using. He first says that the Constitution does not have extra-territorial application, he then went on to put a caveat; save when he is outside the country on official diplomatic engagements. There is no where in the constitution that it says that it is only when the president is outside the country on official diplomatic engagements, that he has extra-territorial jurisdiction to govern the country. |
delugajackson:There is no hand over clause in our constitution. This is what the constitution says in section 145; 145. Whenever the President transmits to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives a written declaration that he is proceeding on vacation or that he is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office, until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary such functions shall be discharged by the Vice-President as Acting President. In effect, immediately, the president informs the Senate that he is going on vacation, the vice president automatically becomes the acting president. I don't know where you guys get the hand over idea from. |
Amanew:Where are these ammunition? Let's see the technology you guys have been boasting about that would have been better than than the US. |
The issue had already been settled at the supreme Court in INEC Vs BALARABE MUSA AND ORS, SC.228/2002 - 4TH JANUARY 2003, argued by Chief Gani Fawehinmi. -https://www.google.com/amp/s/judgements.lawnigeria.com/2019/01/29/3plr-inec-v-balarabe-musa-and-ors/amp/ So unless the constitution is changed INEC has no powers to reduce political parties. |
kerzhim:Exactly! As OBJ used to say, money budgeted is not money available. Most of the "Donations were publicity stunts. They were only mouth donations. Book launch, charity and even public church donations most times are mouth donations, the beneficiaries of the donations most times run after the donors to redeem their pledge, with little success. The people pledging huge donations at PDP events were probably only trying to impress the president and probably the party chairman. |
Another Fable (my Yoruba brothers will say Fabu) is this; The Tesla 3 costs $35,000 ≈ N12,775,000The Telsa 3 is $35,000 in the US, by the time you add cost of shipping, insurance and import duties, and then dealers margin the cost will reach at least $70,000. At N360 to the dollar, that is about N25 million. A toyota camry 2019 model that sells between $25,000 - $30,000 sells around N20 million according to jiji.com. I guess a Tesla 3 that sells for $35,000 will sell for up to N30 million |
LuciferAkbar:Sim cards are a different ball game from electric cars, just as GSM transmission is different from electricity transmission. Sim card costs next to nothing to produce, electric cars are expensive and complicated technology. Which form of electricity can produce 75kwh of electricity easily and cost effective than grid electricity? I hope you will not say solar. I have some solar at home. |
LuciferAkbar:Which classification of tariff is N4/kwh? How many times to you go to the petrol station and find out that their dispensers are being powered by generator? N50/kwh is even a low estimate. NERC is set to increase tarrif very soon and tarrif are set for periodic increase every couple of years. Here is the tariff structure of ikeja disco - http://www.ikejaelectric.com/newly-amended-myto-2-1-customer-tariff-classification-and-energy-charges/ The lowest commercial rate is N27.20. I now see where you got your N4 price. |
I don't have the time or the energy to debunk most of your false assumptions, but this one stands out. The current PHCN rate is N4 per kw which means to charge a Tesla 3 Long Range version fully will cost;PHCN rates varies between N21per kwh to about N28 per kwh for residential rate. Commercial rates are higher and higher still for 3 phase meter. I am certain a charging station with expensive charging infrastructure and attendants would not cost less than N50 per kwh if power source is NEPA. If it is generator it can double that. |
Beckham14:Still wailing Jonathan's loss after 4 years? This has nothing to do with Jonathan, but more to do with politics. Sanusi did not support Ganduje in his reelection bid, so he is paying back. He wants to reduce the emir's powers and probably depose him. There is no permanent friend or enemy in politics, only permanent interests. Obasanjo dealt with all those than sponsored and supported him to the presidency, Jonathan did not recognise the efforts of Dr Dora Akinyili in his ascendancy to the presidency. Politics is like the Game of Thrones. |
Awol1:I wonder how long it will also certain tribe in Nigeria to get over Jonathan's loss. It's 4 years on and they are still wailing every day. Even if someone losses a father, husband/wife or other loved one, it would not take 4 years to get over the loss. I don't know how a simple political battled between the governor and Emir of Kanu has any connection with Jonathan's loss. The Government simply wants to reduced the power of the emir, as he feels threatened by the size and population under the Kano emirate. |
