duncun:Nothing person no go see for nairaland. It's full of kids who get all their information from nollywood. Maybe you learn all about British culture from Game of Thrones. The irony is that you guys that hatred has been planted in your hearts by your parents and uncles are the ones accusing others of hatred. You that insult all other tribes in Nigeria, be it Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, Binis, Igalas, even up to other igboid sub tribes are accusing others of hatred. You that preach biafra not on the basis of ideas, but basically on the basis of hatred of other tribes, basically the Fulanis and Yorubas is accusing others of hatred. There is a saying that if you see every other person as a mad man except your self, it's time to start questioning your sanity. About, the Distortion and propaganda. That is the basic tools of IPOB. Why do you think IPOB gained popularity on radio and social media and not on any social or political avenue. Other secession groups have well organised social and political programmes to help the people their are fighting for. IPOB? No. They only know how to use the lives of their supporters as pawn in a show of power and influence. Members that are dying and incarcerated daily are not remembered, but they purport to remember 3 million people that died over 50 years ago. |
oyatz:You are preaching to the deaf. You must accept referendum under kanu whether you want it or not. Don't you know that that the FG offered the 5 SS states to Kanu, but says he won't take Biafra without Benue and Rivers - https://www.thecable.ng/nnamdi-kanu-gave-biafra-without-benue-rivers-said-no/amp The arrogance exhibited by kanu and his people is annoying. |
gidgiddy:Debating with you is like arguing with the wind, no direction or purpose. You called someone a crown prince of Biafra, I educated you that apart from the fact that succession is not hereditary in igboland, the father of the person you are calling crown prince of biafra is only a chief (if you prefer king) in one of the seven communities of Ibeku, which in itself is one of the two clans in Umuahia north local government area. You are now arguing that Afaraukwu people chose their king, agreeing that kingship is not hereditary but chosen. So where did your idea of Crown prince of Biafra come from. Here is how Kanu's father HRH Eze Isreal O. Kanu became king of Afaraukwu; Until recently, AFARAUKWU was governed by one of the chiefs in the council of Eze Ogurube of IBEKU known as Egwukwu of AFARAUKWU IBEKU. Based on a recent political realignment, AFARAUKWU was recognized as an autonomous community by the Abia state government of Nigeria. Following this recognition Eze Patrick Obike was crown the Egwukwu 1 of AFARAUKWU IBEKU. Upon his death HRH Eze Isreal O. Kanu was crowned the Egwukwu 2 of AFARAUKWU IBEKU. Still in his tenure as Egwukwu 2, the sub clan of Ibeku went through another political realignment that created the three mentioned autonomous communities of Okwulaga, Ohokobe na Umuokeyi, and Isiama. In effect during kanu's father's reign, Afaraukwu Ibeku has been further divided into 3 autonomous communities. The concept of Nigeria was foisted on us by the British and never have the people been giving any right choose if they want to carry on with the British invention called Nigeria, or something else. That some nationalist united to fight British rule does not mean that the people agreed to be one country. The proper way to offer people choice between Nigeria and something else is referendum, which is what Kanu wants. I never heard the British offered anybody the right to choose between Nigeria through a referendumYou guys just continue spewing meaningless rubbish. If you guys tell us your tribe wants to come together to form it's own country, as you do not feel comfortable with other tribes, that make up Nigeria, you have to start the political process. It's a long and arduous way, except you want to take the quicker route of war. But to continuously blame the British that left over 60 years ago is lame. As I said your people had the opportunity to opt out of the union before independence, you guys voted for one Nigeria, not only one Nigeria, but rejected the secession clause. Now you are the ones crying. Nigeria was not the only country the British colonised, in fact the British colonised over half the countries of the world, so how come others have chosen to move on and take their destinies in their hands, and you guys are stuck in the some sort of utopia. The British conquered each community at different times. They did not find huge organised political units. Are you now suggesting each tribe or sub tribe conquered should be put to a referendum? For example, the itsekiris, the Ijaws and Urhobos should carry a referendum if they want to form a country, remain in Nigeria or join a new country of numerous tribes. What of the ijebus, the egbas and the eguns, they each too should be given their referendum, since they were conquered at different times. |
Nukilia:I believe that something similar to this will happen in electricity. With the falling prices of solar panels, people will be forced to generate their own electricity, especially for domestic use, and render the Discos and gencos useless. The only problem right now is the storage system (Batteries), by the time battery technology becomes more efficient and cheap, the shakara of the power companies would be curtailed. |
PFRB:The same way Oba Rilwan of Lagos said, any igbo that did not vote for Ambode will drown in the Lagos lagoon. You that went to school and learnt well, oya tell me why igbos were incensed over that statement and crying to UN, Hague and US. |
gidgiddy:Who dash am member of Abia traditional rulers council? This is a list of member of Abia traditional rulers council - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abia_State Every hamlet in the south east has a traditional ruler, in fact Aba alone has over 400 royal fathers. That why there was rancour in abia state when HRM Eze Isaac Ikonne, The paramount ruler of Aba, conferred a chieftaincy title on Buhari. The paramount ruler of Aba, the commercial capital of Abia State, HRM Eze Isaac Ikonne, has come under the hammer from the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers for conferring a chieftaincy title on the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd).Furthermore, Abia State alone has over 1000 Traditional Rulers - http://saharareporters.com/2014/09/09/abia-state-has-over-1000-traditional-rulers-claims-obi-onitsha The idea of crown prince is alien to Igbos? So is Nigeria. Whether crown prince or "Nigeria", both are imported ideas from Britain. In fact, Nigeria is an even bigger fraud than crown price because while any community can choose their kings, the idea of Nigeria was foisted upon the people without choice and enforced by the gun since the days of Lugard to the present. For a people that only recently came to know monarchy, you people seem obsessed it, without a full understanding of what it entails. Quit that stale story of "Nigeria was foisted upon the people without choice and enforced by the gun since the days of Lugard to the present". Yes the concept of Nigeria was foisted on us without our consent, but when we decided to fight for independence, that we don't want to remain under British rule, we were given the option of going our separate ways, your people people chose to remain with Nigeria. |
gidgiddy:You are maybe not igbo or you are deliberately spreading falsehood. Your narrative is false on so many levels, or don't know where to start. First Kanu's father is not a king, he is simply a community leader. He is the leader of Afaraukwu- Ibeku community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia. He is like what the yorubas call bale or beale. You need to read up on how the colonial administration created kings (ezes) out of warrant chiefs for colonial administrative purposes. The idea of crown prince is very alien to igbo culture. There are usually 3 or 4 ruling families and the council of chiefs pick one candidate out of the ruling families. I wonder where you got the idea of kanu being a crown prince from. Apart from the Benin monarchy, I don't know any other monarch in Nigeria that has a crown prince. Kanu to me is a typical example of a butterfly that think himself an eagle. Crown prince of Biafra Kwa? |
gidgiddy:Why don't you guys try and make sense once in a while. You just say senseless meaningless terms all the time. It makes a joke of your so called agitation. That's why not one takes you guys serious. Do you know what crown prince means? Igbos societies do not have crown princes, the Kings are chosen by a council of King makers. Then do you understand what it means by already declaring kanu a crown prince of your proposed country to be comprised of other tribes and other igbo clans. It will look like kanu and you are attempting to build a monarchical Kingdom like Saudi's Arabia. I am certain all these are beyond your intellectual capacity. |
tactius:That's why there are no incentives to go after defaulters and bypassers, they put the burden on those who want to do the right thing. In Nigeria, officials prefer to harass soft targets or law abiding citizens, but remain oblivious to criminals. Only in Nigeria will you see police stop law abiding citizen and search his bags and phones at a notorious bus stop, with agberos (thugs) beating conductors and harassing passerby in full glare. |
Blitz888:Why not quote the exact verse that instruct pastors to live extravagant lives at the expense of their members. |
hungryboy:That's why the richest pastors are situated in the poverty capital of the world. If the masses starts getting richer, the pastors will be getting poorer. This is because fewer members would be prepared to give 10% of his or her income for breakthroughs and prosperity. |
Roland17:Not just because he is our brother, but because he is our tribe, religion or political party. We elevate sentiments above self and group interests. |
Sunmolar:And what powers do Traditional rulers have to fish out criminals in their domains? How many criminals have you own royal father fished out? How many Fulani people have been convicted of criminality so far? That question should be directed at the attorney generals and directors of prosecution, both at the states and federal levels, and also the Nigerian Police. |
tactius:Whether everyone is metered or not, those that will bypass will always bypass. The estimated billing is just billing the law abiding citizens for the sins of criminals. Power thieves will steal power whether metered or not. Some have extra wires to reconnect every time NEPA officials cut their wires. |
Sterope:And who is to blame for all these things you listed? Why should I be made to pay for the crimes of others? Power theft is a crime in Nigeria, why can't the discos hire more inspectors and lawyers, instead of marketers and people carrying ladders up and down. In the beginning Eko Disco used to arrest and charge power thieves to court in my former estate and first time offenders were made pay N100,000 fines as punishment, but later, they got lazy and complacent and resumed the old age practice of carrying ladder up and down. Now, hardly anyone pays for power, as long as you have N1000 to bribe the people carrying ladder up and down. |
blank:Which yeye jobs are they doing? According to NERC guild lines, There should be a legal process before customers can be disconnected. The area supposed to give first and second notice before disconnecting. The practice of carrying ladder up and down, asking to show your bill or risk disconnection is illegal work. Most times they bring bill today and the very next day bring ladder on your pole to disconnect. Meter everyone, they refuse because they enjoy the corrupt practice of billing customers without giving power. |
Degis:So much hatred and venom. It must be personal. He must have offended you personally. This same fellow using the CBN Vehicle gave friends and family unsecured loans at FIRST BANK as well as the CBN.Why not give names and details. It not just enough throwing spurious general accusations in the air. I remember massive allegations of flagrant abuse and mismanagement of Emirate funds by this irritant that loves laundering his tainted image. You remember. Can you remind us with details. This also seem very personal. I remember who manufactured the crisis that consumed Nigeria especially after the beheading of Gideon Akaluka so much so that Abacha was looking to kill him.You also remember? This was over 25 years ago? How old were you to remember? You guys know how to turn fiction to fact in your head. So you are insinuating that a kano prince gathered some thugs and personally went to a police station to abduct and kill someone for desecrating the Koran. So where is the evidence? You are aware that there is no status of limitation for murder. His hypocrisy is further exhibited in the latest crisis bedeviling the Union Bank where he was fingered in a dubious shares transaction. He was fingered by who? You must hold the world record for making spurious allegations without an iota of evidence. |
Donelli:Royalty for where, I hope you are aware that kanu's father is like a chief to the Ogurube Ibeku, who is the paramount ruler of Ibeku, under which Afaraukwu is under. The paramount ruler has not make noise, it is the son of one of his chiefs that won't let us hear word. Ibeku people have custodians of these traditional values in each of the seven clans called Egwu Asaa that make up Ibeku Nation. These seven Clans are Osaa, Amaforo, Ndume, Afaraukwu, Emede, Isieke, Afarata. Each has an Eze that is titled accordingly with a name to reflect that clan. Ibeku clan has a Royal Highness with the title Ogurube Ibeku. The present Ogurube is His Royal Highness Eze Samuel Iheonu Onuaha, The Ogurube IV of Ibeku. His cabinet is made up of all the Eze from the seven egwu asaas. These individual egwus are autonomous in terms of organization in localities headed by their own Eze. |
lexy2014:I have never been a fan of tinubu. I hate his brand of Godfather politics, but you guys are very inconsistent and anarchist in nature. If Buhari should either ignore or prosecute Tinubu today, you will gleefully be ecstatic saying dump and use. The same way you have labeled Okorocha. The same way you wish Buhari dump Amaechi so you can taunt him with use and dump. |
plaindealer:You get time for sore losers. Get use to their wailings. They wail over everything. They are forever pained that Tinubu helped kick their hero out of Aso Rock, and have made him, their mortal enemy. A Tinubu Obasanjo, Yard adua and Jonathan did not arrest, they want a Buhari who is in the same political party to arrest him, for alleged offences committed during PDP rule. If EFCC should arrest Tinubu, they would celebrate and mock not just Tinubu but the Yorubas in general, saying Fulani used and dumped Yorubas. |
GoodofNaija:And where we're they flying the money to and for what purpose? I feel sorry for you guys. Tinubu gives some people nightmares. It's amazing they dream and think of Tinubu day and night. |
frankdoz24:Since Kanu is supreme leader and crown prince, who is the Crown King of Biafra? Delusion at its most serious level. |
GoodofNaija:Yes! It happened under Jonathan on the eve of an election, and you guys were celebrating it. https://247ureports.com/2018/07/ekiti-election-fgs-movement-of-n18bn-cash-through-akure-airport-exposed-with-pictorial-evidence/
|
GoodofNaija:When Ribadu and Obasanjo was accused of selective corruption fight, I said the same thing, that as long as the people accused are not innocent, the next government would get the protected ones. Ibori escaped Obasanjo and even became king maker during Yara dua but was pursued and caught under Jonathan. After Buhari leaves, the next government should go after Tinubu, Amaechi and Co. It a wonder why Jonathan did not prosecute Tinubu, but you want Buhari to prosecute him. |
professorval1:It is not possible to prosecute "ALL THIEVES". No government in this world has the resources to prosecute "ALL THIEVES ". Since there is to statute of limitation in law, Buhari can prosecute some thieves, and the next government can prosecute the ones he missed. |
Sunmolar:He did not point to religious leaders, he only made reference to Adeboye in the Erastus Akingbola case. He was generally indicting the political elites, especially the northern politicians. Try and watch the videos. It does not consume much data. |
Sunmolar:He can only act based on the role he is given to act. As CBN governor, he can only make policies concerning central banking and raise alarm in issues beyond his scope. As Emir, he can only warn and point fingers. He can only give advice based on his philosophy and wealth of experience, it is left for others to follow, reject or persecute him. |
Sunmolar:Different personalities, different ideas and training. Sanusi was a risk manager and not a developmental economist. His main focus was securing depositors money and hence the clampdown on CEO that personalised depositors monies. |
Some excerpt from the speech; On this day, while taking requests from the districts, I heard this big scream from a lady who was waiting behind, andI said go and check what is happening, and when they checked, they found that this woman, waiting her turn to ask the emir for assistance, while waiting there, her baby died. And her baby died, because she had come to the emir to appeal for assistance. She needed N3,000 to buy drugs. Context, that is much less than $10. Now? For me coming from the central bank and being an emir. I came face to face maybe for the first time in my life, with what it means when we say x percent of Nigerians are living on less that $1 a day. |
This is another speech he gave after he became Emir, in which he lambasted the political elites in Nigeria. You can see genuine concern in his voice. I suspect this speech is the Genesis of his present predicament. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyA3_4jgtd4 |
nepapole:Please try and watch it. You will find out that Lamido Sanusi is about the only elite left that shows serious concerns about the poor, especially in the north east, and hence his troubles with the elites and their supporters. |
olajide8:English must be a very difficult language. Some people just find it difficult to comprehend. Where did you see me supporting scammers? I stated that all the government is doing is eye service, just noise to make the world think they are actually fighting Internet scam. The mandate SARS and EFCC to go after some students, they then splash the whole print, electronic and social media with their faces, while the real pros go undisturbed. |
