Now, if you are an ardent follower of Nollywood, you could almost swear that actors Yvonne Nelson and John Dumelo are dating. The Ghanaian pair have on several occasions taken their ‘friendship’ a bit too far for we not to believe that they are nothing but mere friends. The pair constantly keep fans thinking, pondering, speculating as they post pictures of themselves kissing and much more. Recently, fans went on social media – specifically to the Nelson’s page to plead with the pair to take their dating serious and make it official. The pair have constantly denied dating but fans are having none of it – it seems like the pair just look too good together. Now, are the couple just good ol’ BFFs or are they using the dating speculations for publicity – think Uti and Saeon here, think Alexx Ekubo and Yemi alade. https://brainnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/j-demelu.jpg CULLED FROM: http://brainnewsng.com/yvonne-nelson-and-john-dumelo-lovers-or-just-bffs/ |
https://brainnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/jamb.jpg The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of the sale of 2015 application forms from 15th September and it is expected to usher in the implementation of full-blown Computer Based Test (CBT) in the 2015 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). A press release signed by the registrar of JAMB, Professor Dibu Ojerinde and made available to LEADERSHIP said candidates are expected to start purchasing their forms from Monday, September 15 to Thursday, January 15, 2015. Professor Ojerinde, who assured candidates that the board has fine-tuned arrangements with computer based test (CBT) centres to register prospective UTME candidates, prayed for a registration error and stress free exercise for candidates. The JAMB boss recalled the discovery by the board of cases of impersonation and other malpractices usually recorded during the registration process by cyber cafes and assured that the agency has decided to regulate the registration centres to ensure that the system is malpractice free. Candidates are to obtain their application forms at designated banks after which they are to proceed to any approved CBT centres and register for the examination at a regulated fee. There are about 300 centres all over the country and staff of the centres have been trained for this purpose. Professor Ojerinde also informed candidates that as part of ensuring standard and quality of public examination and encouraging reading culture in line with Mr President’s reading campaign, the board has reviewed textbooks hitherto read or recommended in previous matriculation examinations to give them broader spectrum of literary appreciation, by introducing a book, “The Last Days at Forcados High School”, at a recommended price of N500.00. Some of the designated banks from which the forms could be purchased are Zenith Bank, Skye Bank, Union Bank, First Bank and also NIPOST. The forms are to be sold at the cost of N4,500.00. http://brainnewsng.com/jamb-begins-sale-of-2015-utme-forms-sept-15/ |

Ever,” he said. The morning after Obama outline his strategy to “degrade and ultimately destroy” ISIS, references to that looming terror threat were notably absent from his remarks. Instead, the president focused on the future and the enduring strength of the nation. “Generations from now, Americans will still fill our parks, our stadiums, our cities,” he said. “Generations from now, Americans will still build towers that reach toward the heavens, still serve in embassies that stand for freedom around the world, still wear the uniform and give meaning to those words written two centuries ago — land of the free, home of the brave. Generations from now, no matter the trial, no matter the challenge, America will always be America.” Thirteen years ago, Obama was a little-known state senator driving down Lake Shore Drive in Chicago when he heard news of the attacks over the radio, not knowing how the tragedy would come to shape his future presidency. “They sought to do more than bring down buildings or murder our people,” he said today. “They sought to break our spirit and to prove to the world that their power to destroy was greater than our power to persevere and to build. But you and America proved them wrong. America endures in the strength of your families who, through your anguish, kept living.” SOURCE: http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=81302 http://brainnewsng.com/america-marks-13th-anniversary-of-911-terror-attacks/ |

Despite their on-pitch travails last season, Manchester United on Wednesday announced a 19% rise in annual revenue to a record £433.2 million ($698.8 million, 539.6 million euros). United floundered in their first season after the retirement of long-serving manager Alex Ferguson, finishing seventh in the Premier League and sacking his successor, David Moyes, but they continued to thrive commercially. Helped by a blockbuster £750 million 10-year deal with Adidas, the club reported a 49 percent increase in sponsorship revenue. Overall profit fell sharply, from £146.4 million to £23.9 million, but mainly because United had received a one-off tax credit from American assets worth £155 million in the previous year. “We are very proud of the results achieved in fiscal year 2014 as we once again generated record revenues,” said executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward in a statement. “With Louis van Gaal at the helm as manager, and the recent signing of some of the world’s leading players to further strengthen our squad, we are very excited about the future and believe it’s the start of a new chapter in the club’s history. “Louis’s footballing philosophy fits very well with Manchester United and he has an impressive track record of success throughout his career, winning league titles with every club he has managed.” Partly due to their non-participation in the Champions League, United expect their income to fall to between £385 million and £395 million over the course of the current season. They invested around £150 million on new players during the close-season transfer window, including a British-record £59.7 million swoop for Argentina international winger Angel di Maria. The figures released on Wednesday also revealed that United paid out £5.2 million in compensation to former Everton manager Moyes, who was dismissed in April, and some members of his coaching staff. United are without a win after three Premier League games this season and were knocked out of the League Cup following a 4-0 loss to third-tier Milton Keynes Dons. - Third-place target - But they could hand debuts to new signings Radamel Falcao, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind in Sunday’s home game with Queens Park Rangers. In a conference call with investors, Woodward said that United’s target for the season was a top-three finish in the Premier League. “Our budgets assume a third-place finish, as is ordinarily the case,” he said. “The 2013-14 season was a very challenging and disappointing one. But under Louis there is a real feeling at the training ground that we are at the start of something special.” Woodward also played down the chances of United spending heavily in the January transfer window. “We don’t intend to significantly increase cap-ex (capital expenditure) in January,” he said. “We will continue to monitor in association with Louis his view of the squad and which areas we want to strengthen and which areas we want to sell. “The usual three in, three out is par for the course in the numbers in and out each year, typically in the summer.” United’s wage bill has risen 19 percent to £214.8 million, which the club’s annual report said was “primarily due to the impact of player acquisitions and renegotiated player contracts”. - http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/man-united-announce-record-433-2m-revenue/#sthash.uhMh7clb.dpuf |

https://brainnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/windows-8-home-screen110913184405.jpg Windows 9 has been leaked, and seems to show a backing away from the aggressively touch-focused Windows 8, with a mini start menu and dropping of the Charms bar, but we’ll get a better look September 30, according to the Verge. The blog reports Microsoft is planning an official unveiling of what’s next for its desktop OS for that date, with a technology preview available for early adopters following quickly after that. The upcoming Windows 9 release is codenamed ‘Threshold,’ and expectations are that we’ll see it arrive for the general public as a stable release sometime early next year. Previously, we covered what might be happening with the new release, which suggests that the desktop might be getting a return to glory in the new version – think more Windows 7 in your Windows 8 experience. Expectations are that Modern Windows (aka Metro) will still exist in the next generation, but it’ll be more closely integrated with the desktop side, with apps running in windowed mode instead of requiring you to switch between the two environments. https://brainnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Windows-9.jpg As a fairly frequent Windows user, but mostly on a desktop gaming PC, I’m excited about the new (old) direction Microsoft’s OS is apparently headed in – let’s hope they don’t go in a different direction what they actually unveil in late September.
