This is definitly one of the most if not the most dangerous road I have plyed in nigeria. The sharp curves and bends are cray, also the numbet of heavy duty trucks on that road will rival any road in Nigeria...There were soo many near misses when I used the road (I sometimes used the road up to 4 times a week). I remember the first time my fiance visited me, she vowed never to visit me again. She only visited again when we found an alternate road "The old oyo road" |
holicalpha:I repeat Nigeria is no Zimbabwe or Togo that would have the same president for years for fear of the Angle we dont know. Infact Buhari is a person we know with great track record on corruption. Jonathan on the other hand is dinning with Kashamu, Fani Kayode, Stella Odua, Abacha's CSO and other well grounded thieves. Some of you will come with you Tinubu stories but dont forget he laid the foundation and is constantly aiding in ways he can in the unrivalled development in Lagos. Only born liers would say Lagos is not better of. In my area in Agege Lagos we have a standard stadium and everytime I go home, at least on road has been completed. I have never for once been back home and seen Lagos the same. Constant development inspite of the enormous population that is constantly increasing. |

juanmata:I dont but my friend with GE is jet setting around d world, so it must be good. The perks that comes with d job are good, if not the money itself. Something we should realize is the there is a difference between salary and perks. Some companies might have high salaries but little on perks. And some might have little salary but high on perks. But in most cases the multinational firms are the ones with good perks and they also have good salaries too. Let me give a couple of perks with good multinationals for their graduates in Nigeria: 1. Full medical insurance package for employee and children, including dental and eye care. A lot of companies give basic health insurance but few gives you full package, e.g. I can go ahead to whiten my teeth on insurance. 2. Full school fees coverage for all children, even if you children school abroad. This is common with multinational E&P and top notch Oil service firms. 3. Trainings/Working around the world. 5. Sponsored membership of clubs and associations. This includes both professional e.g. NIM, SPE, NSE, etc and social e.g. Ikoyi Club, Yoruba Tennis Club, Port Harcourt **** Club, Abuja **** Club, etc. In essence, the benefit might out shoot the salary. |
I have been around the country about 6 times in the last one week. I paid 14k for each one of the trip even as people were paying huge amount for the same flight. I was able to do that because I booked early december. They brought it on themselves, becos its like that in most places in d world. |
Bluepamex:Young man, be truthful. Your children would be born in this country, we have no other. Would you recommend Jonathan to run you family business if thats the only thing you children would inherit from younand feed from. Im not saying Jonathan is a bad person. But I insist that he is not the president Nigeria needs. |
SenatorM:Even under the big chief Gen Sanni Abacha himself Nigeria wasn't islamatized, most of our big money churches formed then sef....How would it be islamatize under the democratic rule of the most principle Buhari. I think PDP should spend more time, telling us how they would move us forward, or what they would do entirwly differently this time around, rather than chasing shadows in Buhari. The unfortunate think is that because of our nature as Nigerians, they have managed to fool alot of us into believing their ethnic and religious bull crap. The president and his family get treated for malaria in Germany for crying out loud! What kind of a country supports that. Sai Buhari, and have a very splendid holiday....God bless you all |
Who is Bishop Isong? Who is he speaking on behalf of? Nigeria is in serious need of change and all he is thinking of is a way to rubbish the guy well position to change it... We all know Buhari will do no such thing, but we are being fooled by religous and ethnic sentiments. I insist Nigeria is no Zimbabwe, or other african countries, a bunch of corrupt people cant just decide on thier own that the would rule us for 50years! Are we in the stong age? Vote PDP out!!! They have obviously failed and we need change. The same thing happened during Obamas election when Bush knew he had failed, he tried to capitalist on Obamas race. As bush failed to capitalize on Obamas racial sentiment so also will pdp fail to capitalize on Buhari's religious background. Amen in Jesus name. |
Edoblakky:Im sure you are one of those people that queue in US, South Africa, and other embassies for VISA...Do you know they have tolls on their roads too, tickets for parking and all. |
donmalcolm21:Judge not my dear...U claim to know God yet you are breaking some of his fundamental commandment. Nigerians are no fools, we have tried a government for 15 years (pdp) and jonathan for close to 6 years. Is there anything wrong in asking for a fresh government. It was Albert Einstien that said something like "You cannot continue to do the same thing and expect a different result". Abeg let PDP rest small, we are not zimbabwe that would allow one party rule for 50 years! |
jadelyn007:Owkies, I guess Mr Ayeni just loves Jonathans face a whole lot. And that love for Jonathans face is worth a wooping 5 BIllion Naira. Although we can also look at it as a thank you gift, for winning the bid in october...whichever way this doesn't look too good. There are just bound to be questions when a man gives another man 5 billion naira in cash! |
Tunde Ayeni Skye bank chairman donated 5 Billion naira to Jonathan in PDPs fund raiser. 2/3 days later, Skye bank is takes over government bank "mainstreet bank nigeria" In my culture, the elders say, if a witch cries in d night, and a child dies the following morning, we dont need to ask ourself who killed the child. |

Fashola is more like a president in his capacity as the Governor of Africa's 5th largest economy. He manages a complicated structure in Lagos. Akpabio is more like a procurement manager, that basically just waits on exxon and FG for money. His only job is to decide what to spend the money on. The state has little structure to generate a sustainable income. If oil prices crashes today, there will be no water to hydrate that stadiums pitch. Plus Lagos has pretty standard multi-sports stadiums in almost every local government were masses have direct access. Besides how many Junior sporting events, principals cup, NPL, or division II matches would they play in the Uyo stadium..it most likely would be reserved for Super Eagles matches. |
It is common knowledge that *Idumota * Eko and a lot of other places in Lagos were named by the benin kingdom....even the concept of white cap chiefs in Lagos is from them. With all this, I have not heard a single Benin person lay claim to Lagos recently....lol |
There is much urgency to share my thoughts at this moment. My country has mananged to place certificates above knowledge when infact certificate serves only as an evidence of acquired knowledge. A WAEC certificate has somehow managed become more important than the mastering of the O'level curriculum. Someone was recently denied the collection of her original WAEC cert at the Ojo WAEC Branch because she was unable to write, "original copy collected by me". There are also reports that a recent univerisity graduate could not write "Cash Collected by Me" presumably at NYSC camp. Titles are another thing we Nigerians can't enough of. In my dear country, you better not refer to neither a Engineer as a Mister nor a Professor as a Doctor. You just might never graduate from that college. In this same country a person would prefer to be called "most senior superior excellent Bleep". I have actually seen Dr Pastor Bleep OON CON. The truth is that for most of us the titles are bigger than who we are, and our names are just Bleep's that mean little without titles and certificates. Have you ever wondered why the likes of Mark Zukerberg, Bill Gate, Richard Branson, Albert Einstein, John D Rockefeller, Barrack Obama, Nassef Onsi Sawiris have no attachment to their names. And the likes of our Dr Goodluck Jonathan GCFR, Dr Mike Adenuga GCON, Alhaji Alike Dangote GCON, and even the renowned Professor Wole Soyinka all have titles on their names. We sould all understand that including Honourable/Senator in our names won't make us anymore valuable neither would including Ambassador in our names make us any more exposed. When we part with God's own earth, the world would celebrate millions of other Ambassadors, Senators, Doctors, Professors, and GCFRs. Also, when we get to heaven God won't allow only pilgrims with J.P (Jerusalem Pilgrim, I only wonder who started this) into the kingdom. Neither will Allah allow only those with Alhaji/Alhaja (I wonder who started this too) into Al Jana. Both the white Christians and the islamic crusaders who brought these religions to us don't add these to their name. And for us the next generation folks. I guess the older folks have rubbed on us. On LinkedIn and other social media platforms, you will be amazed at the lenght of some names. Names like: Adamu Ciroma Adekunle PMP CCNA ACCA ICAN HSE CCIE IWC... We should all remind ourselves that even though Bill Gate, Thomas Edison, Larry Ellison, Mark Zuckerberg, etc might have written their fair share of exams, they never attached anything to their names. It would be wise to add more value than certifications to our names. Share your opinions..... |

Xetima: I thought Lagos State has a medical college. What is LASU supposed to be doing in medicine?Oga, LASU Medical School is probably the most equipped in Nigeria. It is actually well funded. But as with all serious research endeavour worldover, there is need for collaboration between various Research institutes, Schlools, Government, and Industries Unna too like to dey engage in criticism without offering any way out. Very typical 'Black Man' |
blackshow: PLS FED GOV,GIVE THIS ISSUE A RAPID RESPONSE LIKE EBOLA CASE.The funny thing is that Nigerian Unions hardly fight for something noble. Now they 're fighting for closed pension, which I believe mean they don't want to be part of the PENCOM and PFA laws that govern the rest of us. They should be replaced immediately with the millions of jobless youth for all I care. |
A lot... |
tit: This is how northern governors spend their state allocations and impoverish their people. Those guyz pack serious money bro, you won't know until you get to the north....they are demi-gods with the influence they pack accross them poor African countries |
Martian: Allow me toWhy the Bleep are u laughing....people are dead, and that shiit cracks you up. The Bleep mehn, I'm not member of his church....but he is a pastor not God...my regards to d family of the bereaved. It's weird and annoying at the same time that a lot of folks find this entertaining....ask youself, whats the fulfillment in having your fellow humankind dead? |
bushdoc9919: Hey stop pretending!Dude |
bushdoc9919: Hey stop pretending! |
Who are we to judge d dead.... All of you blaming the dead lad do not know all d story so please hush. I remember driving home late in the night with my 4 brothers, and we have a freak accident too. You could only imagine what the people on the street that night were saying about our drinking and club lifestyle, people that dont even know me. They never knew we where all brothers going somewhere important. Nobody cared to blame the female driver who caused the freak accident just because she didnt fit d profile. Thank god we lived to tell the story, only God knows what story people on nairaland would have made up about the five brothers whos car flipped over along Akoka. RIP bro.... |

And for what would you kill a fellow human being.... Young man, you would be judged by what you make of your life, dont spend it fighting other peoples war. |
