FAKE NEWS!!!!!! Dollar is available for people that follow the rules laid down by banks and CBN. The speculators are trying soo hard to induce dollar scarcity....No way!!! |
Hello all, I need an advice on the process. I am currently doing the WES review but I selected US under the conversion region. Will this suffice for Canadian Immigration? Thanks |
You haven't seen anything. We were all judging the exchange rate based on some greedy BDC operator. CBN is even nice, pegging the parallel rate at 375 Naira. They just dey pity people like my neighbor who dey speculate dollar. But I'm telling you, its just to give them time, when dollar reaches that 375, CBN will pull further down to the official CBN rate of 305 Naira Lols (CBN just cornered some greedy people) |
Please how much does an 06/07 Avalon Limited cost. Thanks |
Sold |
Classified60:Why would you go ahead to make hotel bookings, flight bookings without an approved VISA. You should only tick the box in the DS-160 form that says you have not made specific travel plans. If I were a VO, that would be suspicious and unwise to me. |

leo1234:I am telling you dollar is just falling like rain. Good I sold mine before this crash....lol Up Naira |
Anchor84:It won't go for that amount. You can fix a time for physical check with your mechanic if you are interested. Good notes: 1. I am the actual owner not a dealer. 2. Paper work is intact including customs paper. 3. Car undergoes routine maintenance. How many Naija used cars have this qualities. Cheers. |
engrken2:152k miles. Ill upload engine pictures as soon as I can. I hope u have a reliable person in PHC to physically check though. Cheers. |
Absa:The Tokunbo of this car cost 2.4m. Please be realistic if you want it. |
No sense of pride at all with the way we are arguing so passionately about a foreign country. Its true these countries are more developed, but Nigeria will get there. There is soo much untapped resources here. It is really a question of ones vision anyway. If you want to live a comfortable average civilized life you have a greater chance doing that in Canada. If you on the other hand want to take a chance to be great with the one life you have. Then you have greater chance at this in NAIJA. For those of you using children as excuses. A Canadian Professor at the U of Manitoba I believe said the main reason why we would all fail to have a great career/life is that we have all cleverly found a way to use poor children as the reason for being mediocre. Some of you would say in 50 years time "Kid I would have built the largest rice mill in Nigeria which was still developing then, but I had to give you a comfortable life"... |
Thanks for all the support guys. Got my VISA recently. Did all my application my self online from the info I got on the US consul website and here on Nairaland. I'm legit going for a conference. Profile: I'm single and working here in naija. I didn't make any flight bookings, I didn't book hotel. I just filled the ds-160 as truthfully as I could on my bed...lol Interview: VO: Good morning, How are you doing Me: Aiit... VO: Why do you want to travel Me: For XYZ conference VO: Why do you want to attend XYZ ME: I want to attended XYZ because of ABC (technical jargon) VO: Why do we need ABC Me: We need ABC because ......... (technical jargon) VO: What do you do for IJK (my coy) Me: I'm an MNL Engineer....I'm an expert in ABC.... VO: I like your explanation of ABC. I am approving your VISA Me: Thanks man... All this happened in less than 20 seconds...very fast. This was my first time in the US embassy. very professional folks |

fasterwell:My dear, it won't cost Shell a lot to leave those JV operation they execute from PHC. This is a billion dollar company. Shell wast stopped from operating in Iran (Do you know how much Oil Iran has ). The people of the delta states need to be more friendly and better host. They are lazy and demanding. I'm currently typing this from an Oil field in on of the same Detla states. The people in this community will quarrel with a company that wants to build bridge, they will rather collect the money (monthly) and put wooden planks for crossing. In this same community, the IOC, and federal government have tried repeatedly to build a very important bridge to no avail. The chiefs here own boats which are used to cross the river. and IOCs are made to pay monthly for the lease of the boat. The list goes on. If this community wants stable power, school, hospital and bridges today they will get it. But the IOC dear not try to do it. They would probably have to pay each community member millions of Naira before they are allowed to build bridges for them. Amazing isn't it ![]() ![]() |

The continuous existence of man is dependent on his ability to secure a sustainable source of energy for himself. Currently the world is dependent on petroleum for the majority of its energy supply. More and more of this hydrocarbon supply are coming from unconventional sources. Examples of these are: oil shale, oil sands, ultra-deepwater explorations, etc. This article would highlight sourcing for the commodity on of the most remote areas of the world, Deepwater. Deepwater, refers to environments with water depths of 4,000ft to 7,000fts. To compare, the tallest building in Nigeria is the NECOM house, and this building is 520ft tall. This environments are tough, and without proper engineering even the best man and machine would fail. Nigeria has a couple of deepwater fields notably; 1. Agbami Field: Run by Chevron at depths of 4,900ft below the blue sea. 2. Bonga Field: Run by Shell at depths of 3,300ft below the blue sea. 3. ERHA Field: Run by Exxon Mobile at depths of 4,00ft below the blue sea. Extracting Oil and Gas from this environments require the most advance technologies available. Some of these technologies have been transferred to Space Research. Examples are the “Mars Drill” program by NASA which has the participation of Baker Hughes Inc. of Houston, a company with a rich oil field history. Schlumberger, the largest Oil Field Servicing company also assisted NASA in the development of “Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous Shoemaker mission”. There are many more examples where the advance technologies used in the Oil Field has been used to benefit other aspects of science. They type of well drilled can be classified into different types: 1. Appraisal Wells: Drilled often shallow before an OML (Oil Mining License) is secured. The requirement for this drilling phase is the “OPL” Oil prospecting License” 2. Exploratory Wells: Drilled deep enough to confirm the availability, quantity and viability of an oil reservoir. 3. Development Wells: These wells are drilled into the reservoir to source for hydrocarbon which would be extracted for sale (Producer wells). We also have Injector wells, which are classified under development wells also. They are nonetheless drilled into the formation to inject substances such as gas, water, etc. This injected substances increases the pressure of the reservoir which depletes over time. Equipment’s required in deep offshore drilling: 1. Rigs: This are facilities used to drill holes into the earth. Examples are Drill ships, Semi-Submersibles 2. ROV: Remotely operated vehicles are robots used to function/install equipment’s thousands of feet below the mean seal level. The Agbami field for example is approximately 5,000ft below mean sea level. Simple pressure/hydrostatic calculation would show that no human can survive at that depth due to the extreme pressure and temperatures. Other notable equipment’s to study: Deepwater Completion Equipment, Directional Drilling, Subsea Tree Systems, FPSO, FSO, etc. |
academics1:Ignoramus, Hydrocarbons is still the energy of choice even for the next couple of years. The same cooking gas you mentioned is an hydrocarbon gotten from processing facilities like the one he is building too. Read more!!! |
