NONE! In real life, I generally keep Nigerians at bay because most of our people are very obnoxious, don't know how to mind their own business, always telling others what to do with their lives and how to live their lives, don't respect people's pesonal space and life's decision especially when it conflicts with their cultural and personal belief. Since the average Nigerian has still not learnt in 2012 how to live and let live, I do not want to have anything to do with Nigerians in real life (except for my immediate family). Besides, I am turned off by the average Nigerian's tribalism and chauvinism tendencies along with our people's greed and worship of materialism and money, and our constant display of inflated egos and unnecessary pride.

I let my guard down once; got emotional and fell in love with this girl that's always telling me how much she loves me and how she would do anything for me. It was so crazy that if I tell his girl to jump, she would. She was everything you would describe as a "nice girl" - but two years down the line, when I finally decided to give her a chance, and reciprocate the love - then, she showed her true colours. Damn, she turned me into a stalker and almost messed my life up.

Phuck bytches for real, I'll never believe that love shyte. I prefer a girl that tolerates me; gives me the chance to do whatever the phuck I wanna do; and don't expect too much from me than that love bs.

pro01: If you believe what a girl says about this money/spending issue, then you're on a looong thing. The ones that don't ask for cash outright are often the most dangerous sef. They lure you into a false sense of safety (as in, oh my babe is different oh, she is not demanding and money-conscious like the others, modupe fun Olorun oh). Na big lie. More often than not, those types expect you to use your 'church mind' (as the colloquialism goes) to 'support' them with cash where necessary, or buy them nice gifts every now and then, take them out to swanky places/ eat outs ever so frequently, etc (all of which still require varying levels of spending). If you fail to do those, she might not complain, but she'd sooner or later cave in to the pressures of more spendthrift 'alternatives' - in addition to the 'wise counsel' of her friends, sisters and whatnot - and manufacture a convenient non-spending-related reason to dump your broke/stingy/recession-hit azz for a more 'caring' and 'reasonable' guy.

For most Naija females (regardless of 'class'), while you might not have to spend to gain access to her 'love' (whatever that means to you), more often than not, you need to spend to retain/maintain/sustain/consolidate your access to that so-called love. . .as the case may be.

When I was younger, I used to be 'too' nice to both boys and girls. No one came to me with a problem and leaving without being half solved. This happened until my University days when a fellow course mate made a statement. She said "if you don't have money for lunch or transport to return home, always go and ask acidtalk". I felt most ashamed and considered myself as "father christmas.

Now the thing is, I still give though but seperates necessity from generousity as I have discovered people will also look at you as a weakling even though he just genuinely feel for their "sorry state".

My question is; Can a man still get loved even when he does spend? Or is love basically won by finances?

I wonder when some pieces of paper started to determine something as serious as Love?
Anyone that 'Loves' another just because he/she saw another with enough/comfortable financial means is the greatest self-deceiver.

It is true that according to the rules “a” should come before words that begin with consonants (e.g., b, c ,d) while “an” should be before words that begin with vowels (e.g., a,e,i). Listen carefully now: the usage is determined by the pronunciation and not by the spelling, as many a retardeddd student wrongly assume. Dont be ashamed, I understand that English is not your first language, therefore, grammatically, you say “an hour” because hour begins with a vowel sound and “a history” because history begins with a consonant sound.

Similarly you could say “a intimate” even if intimate begins with a “i.” That is because the pronunciation sometimes , depending on the speaker and accent ( e.g NY accent), begins with “nt”, which is a consonant sound. So my friend from across the pond, a product of a failed education system, always follow your ear: if the word starts with a vowel sound, use AN. If it starts with a consonant sound, use A. Emphasis on sound. The English language is a very dynamic language which doesnt always lend itself well to rigid rules.
