chaircover: Wislet fron the little I know, Women think long and hard before having an affair. Men tend to go into affairs much more easily and many a time they dont think it through before setting off.
Maybe because its a relatively new marriage and snthsis does not really know what his wife is capable or not capable doing of just yet, and so he is a little worried now. Maybe in 5 years time, and the trust has been proven, he wont even bat an eyelid if his wife came up with the same job as she has been offered today. So it is still down to the trust issue.
Now for the temptation, are we saying here that everyone falls to temptation? I believe that is a capital NO. The only reason why i wont take that job is the 3 weeks on and one week off issue. good thing u know you can't/shouldn't take it. So let the OP know the truth. I'm not saying no one can resist temptation...of course not! I'm saying, let us not deceive ourselves here. A married woman has no business taking that kind of work, especially a newly married one. |

@ those saying the woman can meet a man anywhere. Very funny.
There is a big difference between seeing random men every other day and having them ogle you...and ACTUALLY BEING CONFINED WITH THEM IN THE SAME ENVIRONMENT. A married woman at that. You should be with your family. Not see them only for a week in a month. Leave that job for the singles!
@OP, pay your rent yourself. Do not deceive yourself. Else, you could lose ur trust and home for a rent payment guarantee and comfort.
By the way, there are other jobs she could earn a whole lot in a month, and still come home everyday. |

chaircover: Is MissyB a nurse ni?
On a serious note, if I were your wife I will be pretty offended that you think that way. You are indirectly implying that you can’t trust her.
Which job will your wife do that she won’t be exposed to other men? Do men toast married women YES!!! Do men toast me? Yes!! In the shops, on the plane, on the street, driving along in the car . . . . . . I just politely tell them to Fcuuk off.
Even if your wife was a housewife, there is still the washerman, driver, gateman, when she goes to the market etc
You have to trust her, however if she has given you any reason not to trust her, then you need to discuss it and iron things out Now Now because if you don’t, then every time she is 5 minutes late from the marker you will be thinking the worst.
Now back to the job, I personally don’t like husband and wife being away from each other and 3 weeks out of every 4 is a long time to be apart. Money is not everything and investing in building your relationship together is more important than money. Sit down, put your heads together, focus and pray together and surely a job closer to home will soon appear. Let's not say he does not trust her. Most Men are more stable emotionally than most women(their heads control their emotion)....that's fact. Falling into temptation may not be what she could forsee....but it is better to be safe than sorry. If she'll work in the midst of other women(that is, if she won't be the only one) and she'd come back to her husby after the 3 weeks of work, then she could avert any funny possibilities. But hey...a married woman in the midst of others and only one week with her husband in a whole month? May that not be suicide. Money is not everything. Besides, do not depend on your wife to be the money bringer. Do your job, and she won't have to take on such jobs! |

I am not searching for a Nigerian husband. As I mentioned in my original post -- I find them to be attractive but they just have a really bad reputation.
Men in my country are great. I went to school with many Nigerians that's how I came to like them. Never dated one. Just liked from a distance. LOL. veraponpo: The main problem we have in this country is allowing the Ibos to be staying with the rest of us. I have no apology fo saying this. For the following reasons: 1. They argue blindly even when they dont know. I could remember one auto part seller (Ibo man) arguing with me in 2006 (an OAU graduate) that Nigeria's population was more than that of Brazil. 2. They always believe they are wiser even when they dont have half of your knowledge. 3. They always act before they think -the reason for Nzeogwu Kaduna's coup de tat(sorry for the spelling). 4. They always see others as being inferior to them even when you are the one hosting them, teaching them and helping them. Unnecessary pomposity 5. They always believe they can out-smart u in all areas especially. 6. They see others as coward because they fought just one senseless war (Biafrian war) and lost forgeting that Yoruba started Wild Wild West war in 1962 to 1965. 7. Always call Awolowo a betrayer because he advised Gowon against them forgeting that Biafrian soldiers started it by killing Yorubas in Ore (Ondo State).
I hate the Ibos bunch of unwise elements, selfish and idiotic set of people. hmmm. Are you the definition of wise? This write up says the author of these comments lacks sound thinking. Let ur hatred eat you up. The world will still exist oblivious of you in your small world of hate. |

buck wild: My cousin was about to get married,he set aside some money to buy the wedding gown.
When it was time to get it,his fiancee insisted that they lease it instead of buying it,stating that its not rational to spend so much on something that she is going to wear for about 6 to 8 hours.
They should use the money for something instead.i was really surprised,i was like do such ladies still exist?
Nairalanders what do you think? why do you sound like an alien? 'Do such ladies still exist?'. Are you for real? Sure if it was a relation of yours that made the suggestion, you wouldn't have asked that question. Wonder why some men think ALL ladies have lost it or something. That a few/many have lost direction doesn't mean everything has caved in. Change that negative mentality. Whether you buy or do not buy...it doesn't make you a saint/devil. If you can afford it and want to have it for keeps, by all means do so. Who knows, the money could come in handy at a future date. If u can't, then you don't. It is when all reason is thrown to the wind and you purchase- above your means- that it becomes ridiculous. |

I would have had nothing against him if he criticised in a way befittin a prof. do not mind some inferiority-complexed Nigerians. Who insults a sitting president. Why not criticize his works and leave his person out of it? If it was so easy to be a leader, what are you still doing in your father's house? Insult to a president is a direct insult to the citizens of that country. People should learn to separate sentiments from logic. |

Mekusnwa: Where did they go to pick this character from? There's no end to what theses Gej haters will not do to get at him. Suddenly, they hve gone to generate a Ghanian professor to come and give a disjointed analyses of that interesting Media chat. Who interviewed this professor? Who made him world's foremost economist? I will not be surprised if this man was cloned by SAHARAREPORTERS or Kobojunkie to lend credibility to their falsehood. Let me assume that the man exist and face the issues raised. 1. He acted in ignorance when he said the president didn't declare his assets. The president indeed declared his assets but it was not made public. Even if you doubt it, the assets declaration that he did as Vp under Yaradua still subsists as he has not left office since then. So why the noise over assets declaration? 2. It is an insult on the sensibilities of Nigerians for the so called Ayitteh to label our President as insane and with unsound mind. Who adjudged Jonathan as having unsound mind? Did Ayitteh evaluate a medical report to that effect? How did he arrive at this weighty derogatory statement against a PHD holder? Who is Ayitteh to tell us we voted an insane President? please there must be an end to useless propaganda. 3. The so called Ayitteh questioned why GEJ has not fixed Maidugri airport for his usage. I want to ask, has Ghana even fixed the airport at Accra talkless of the one in hinterland? Is it Not the airport where a cargo aircraft crashed due to water logged runway. Meanwhile, Gej is carrying out massive reconstruction of airports across the country. He is doing in less than one year what many of his predecessors could not do all thru their tenure. Go to Abuja airport, the domestic wing has been closed down for intensive renovation. New car parks are being built. At the international wing, the runways are being built and the entire airport infrastructure is being rebuilt. Similar projects are going on simultaneously in Enugu, Lagos, etc 4. He said GEJ's Agric revolution is only restricted to distribution of palm seedlings. What an affront on truth. Even a toddler in Nigeria has come to know about the cassava revolution and fertilizer distribution reforms scheme. 5. Thankfully, the fake prof accepted the massive construction of rail lines across the country but only faulted the projects on account of what he described as non inclusion of Nigerians in the contract. Who told him? And since when has a Ghanian assumed the role of our local content enforcement officer? 6. He ended up betraying his true identity as an interested party when he said the president needed to consult the university authority and students body before renaming Unilag. What a joke! drastic name change is not the best option. Nobody likes that. It makes u feel insecure. Imagine you as the VC of a prestigious school, and someone from somewhere who has a higher authority than you do decides to change the name of your school overnight- without seeking your opinion whatsoever or at least consulting the school body. Will you still feel confident/think u're still in charge? Who knows what else would be thrust upon you tomorrow?. |

godfadda6: I read through all what has been said on this thread and I decided to share my story!
I had a similar encounter with a lady on a dating website 5years ago, we talked, emailed, called each other back and forth, sometimes for months we wouldn't talk but when we got back we would discuss everything! She was like my confidant and I was like her confidant too, cos it was easy for us to say stuff to ourselves, stuff we wouldn't dear say......
To cut the long story short, I got a job which gave me the opportunity to travel to where she was, when I got there I gave her a call, she was shocked to hear I was in her town, it was hard for us to want to meet, but eventually we summoned courage to meet each other, when I met her I was like OMG, she was like a huge "ballon" (no disrespect).
All I remember I kept saying was "so what's up"!!! We couldn't even talk freely like we used to do through the phone and email, we cooled off, then I went back and retraced all we have said and discussed, and I just discovered I had peace with this lady, we connected in a very special way......
I went back not knowing she felt the same way!!! To cut the story short again, I have looked beyond the way she looks and I have learnt to take her the way she is, and we connect well! Infact we are getting married in November of this year! When my family met her, it was magical, they all loved her, like wise when he folks met me I was like a lost son, her dad calls me like a son he never had!
So my advise is, if u can look beyond beauty and see the connection, but if you can't connect, like someone advised, let her go before it's too late! My 2 cents! beaitiful one. U found ur soulmate and held on cos u looked beyond the world's definition of beauty. And believe me, such a woman will love u like u haven't been loved before. Congrats on a great married life- in advance |
