Omo when you get tired of being treated badly in a relationship,no be person go tell you to bounce .

What I am suggesting is not that this advice is entirely wrong, but it needs to be toned down to something like "Do not change who you are for someone who is not worth it or requires more of you than you can do".

Your reply is an illustration of what I am talking about - learn to see the areas where people have mutual agreement first before you throw out the baby with the bathwater.

His statement and mine are not too far apart, but the difference can bring a whole lot of happiness to many relationships.

In my view it is rather unfortunate. It is very difficult for two fully grown people, even if they have the same background, to live peacefully without one or both being willing to compromise.

Thus, this advice should be changed to reciprocate your partners willingness to compromise, if possible. If he/she cannot compromise or accept your best efforts then you must check whether there are other crucial reasons for you to want the relationship to still succeed. If not, you should leave without delay.

Your heart will always be left broken if you always get into a relationship to insist "you can't change for someone else" or "you are never wrong" or "you are perfect", and other such nonsense. If that is the case, all you really want is a relationship with yourself only.

1ndidi2: I met dis man 2yrs back(found out he is a divorcee-d wife refused to return back 2 9ja,so they divorced).anyway he showers money and gifts on me and I haven't been intimate with him yet.
