BATified2023:Bro, challenge him to comment about Dr.David Ogula who co-signed with the Yoruba lady to leave the Obidient movement stating the same reasons as her. See Dr.Ogula's info in my thread above to understand these people, trying to make this solely about "Yoruba betrayal" , as they always do, have nothing upstairs. Once confronted with situations that shows they are failings, such as how Obidient movement was always destined to implode and lose people of integrity who genuinely seek the good governance of Nigeria, they resort to cheap ethnic baiting and gaslighting. What have they, in the past 70 year history of Nigeria, failed to blame Yorubas for? Civil war they misguidedly caused, they will tell you "Yoruba betrayal" prevented them winning. Azikiwe's failure to annex Yoruba land and install Igbos as our leaders, in our land and at every level, they blame on "Yoruba betrayal" of Igbos by Awolowo who would not allow such happen. We don't want GRV who makes it clear he despises Yorubas, then it is Yoruba "tribalism and betrayal". Etc, etc. Is is just fascinating how a people's undesirable core character can defy evolution in remaining same for several decades since evolution is about becoming better, more informed and greater solutions-providers than our forebears . |
Smartcitizen:Lol. Whipping up ethnic sentiments and tribalistic gaslighting is always the default behaviour of those not intelligent enough to define their argument with issue-based sagacity and gravitas . Let us remove the Yoruba lady then. The other signatory to the announcement of withdrawal from the Obidient movement is the diasporan Dr.David Ogula To the best of my knowledge, he is not Yoruba and you can glean some information about him below. Note the critically acclaimed book he has written as well which shows he is a Kwame-Nkrumah type thinker who believes Africa must make the conscious effort to take charge of and solve her own problems. In the book, he muses over the tragic reality of how sub-Saharan African host around 12% of the world's population yet has 25% of illiterates globally. If you are losing people like that, because they are disenchanted with the Obidient movement, is that something you should try to deny, simply to fool others, by stoking the fire of ethnic sentiments against the Yoruba lady who signed alongside David Ogula, and cited same reason as him, for leaving the Obidient movement? Crystal clear you people are so unprepared for what is coming in 2O27 because you cannot accept many who saw Obi as "change" that moves Nigeria away from "the ruinous old hands" now realize he is anything but change. Perhaps even worse. Obidients, additionally, have then doing more damage convincing the world, beyond doubt, they are solely about Igbo Presidency rather than the good governance of Nigeria that is the biggest black nation in the world, a major player in sub-Saharan Africa, as Ogula and many like him wish to see.

Mindlog:Absolutely. If a reasonable person, to begin with, you accept and work with reality ,even if such appears unfair, to get where you must. It usually works out well in the end for pragmatists and realists who don't sit around obsessing about the problem when they should be seeking solutions to overcome it. |
Real2088:Indeed. Cutting corners is now default behaviour of Nigerians in Nigeria that some, not the majority, then export abroad. We can't and won't escape the consequences and negative reputation of our actions, though unfair to upright and honest Nigerians, which often comes at high cost to Nigeria and all Nigerians. There are several global trading platforms where you can sell literally anything, like eBay, that boycott Nigerian direct selling participation ( emphasis on selling because we can buy from the world directly but can't sell to it directly) for many reasons tied to our dubious practices , potentials to abuse credit facilitation etc. Who loses other than Nigerian manufacturers, artisans, retailers etal who are cut off from what could be a muilt-billion dollars global market considering what we can offer the world at very competitive prices? We refuse to do the right things individually, expecting others to take responsibility for that on our behalf, and we wonder why Nigeria is the way she is with everyone pointing fingers at others. |
seunmsg:I agree 100%. No one is above making a mistake. The bolded is my opinion too because Peter Obi is a certified bigot 100%, while there is countless solid proof exposing his complete lack of leadership skills and vision. Such as the many festering crisis in his Labour Party.most average leaders would have tamed yet incompetent and divisive Obi made things worse. He is nothing but a desperate "Igbo Presidency" project packed as "change". It is upsetting a Yoruba can be naive and gullible enough to believe he has anything to offer but joyous when they come to their senses and depart the fascist Obidient movement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6buay-KhrY?si=Ms4uxh4Qn9idfcRn https://alabingo.com/labour-party-crisis-obi-a-weak-leader-unable-to-take-stand-on-important-issues-kenneth-okonkwo/
|
seunmsg:That's how they are. Gullibly misguided and naively idealist. Totally incapable of understanding the cold and brutal reality of Nigeria. She has now seen the light. Let her go and sin no more. |
jaxxy:Simple as that. If she wishes to be accredited to practice law in the UK then she knows what she has to do. |
LagosOrigin:Stop being the personification of dull thinking, in an information age, and click the twitter link. It has replies and retweets. Go there and contribute to the conversation. I still don't know how you people cannot read the writing on the wall to understand Obi is now exposed as a charlatan, with nothing upstairs, while most hardcore Obidient are today viewed as bigoted extremists most sane Nigerians no longer want to associate with. These guys, see bolded below, are not saying anythng different to what most who continue to leave the Obidient crew in droves are saying. The two signatories are Diasporan engagement personnel for the Obidient movement who were passionate believers in a better Nigeria and wrongly believed Obi represented that. They are different to the hungry and extremists lackeys on ground in Nigeria looking for stipends. They made their issues crystal clear about how the Obidient movement is disorganised, unstructured, dictatorial, dismissive of the opinion of others, financially exploitative of diasporans etc, etc. Sadly, their complaint is everything we have come to associate with Obidients in Nigeria. Some of us could have spared them the heartache if they had bothered to consult extensively instead of blindly believing Obi and the Obidient movement represented change. https://x.com/BolanleA4/status/1976682014712492252 "We, the undersigned, have taken the decision to decouple from the organisational structure of the Obidient Movement. This decision has not been made lightly, but is the result of deep reflection and concern about the direction, values, and attitudes that have come to dominate the structure in recent months."

esnbrutality:Do you people even think before you talk? This is why no one, not even ethnic groups numbering less than 50k, take you guys seriously. Imagine an Igbo, millions in the North, saying the bolded to Yorubas who are negligible in number in the North and, of the big four ethnic groups of Nigeria, remain in their region most by far. You don't think Nigerians view you as hypocrites always shouting Biafra and accusing others of "unity begging" online while, on ground , you're like white on rice in the SW, North, SS, etal. It s why all Nigerians laugh at your insincere noise of Biafra as they see you, in total contrast to what you preach, fleeing the SE daily in thousands permanently to join those you say you want to be away from in their land. As for your Southern unity garbage, wrong poster buddy. Virtually all here know I am 1000% about what is shown below. I am in my own region always backing what is shown below. Not from Kano, Port Harcourt, Rivers, Zaki Biam, Kaduna or Abuja like you hypocrite making Biafra noise from everywhere bar the SE. https://punchng.com/swest-govs-propose-six-regions-demand-lg-autonomy-resource-control/

UkoAnnang:Pardon can only apply after a conviction. Kanu's case is in court with no verdict yet. |
truthera:I don't have to say much to you. The bolded proves you are in the category of unreasonable, prejudiced and emotional folks no time should be wasted on. |
marlow1962:Many States do and this is why I am always amused by the noise many make over Lagos which is the smallest State in Nigeria. There are many States with abundant land new communities, industries and commercial district can spring up in if State leaders are innovative and visionary |
kingthreat:Commonsensically talk. Of all those one can use as a front to buy land, why settle on a minor who is legally prevented to buy land in Nigeria when the land can be confiscated from him as Okpebolo will surely do once the boy's source of wealth is established. |
BlackViper:Precisely. |
UkoAnnang:He did. A 17 year old cannot purchase land legally virtually in any nation of the world today. Including Nigeria. He must be 21 years old to be given approval of a State Governor to purchase land.
|
AK481:Lol. Can't the same question be asked in relation to Ekpa who has not set foot in Nigeria for ages? Why has he been found guilty and jailed? Yet you have the nerve to call someone the bolded in your post. Lol. |
AK481:We tell you people, in an age of stupendous information overload available in seconds, to work at being more intelligent, less emotional and better informed so you can be effective solution-providers for yourself and society. Yet you reject that to wallow in ignorance and mischief that makes you of little worth to others. They are still on remand with case ongoing even as your ignorant and prejudiced mind probably leads you to believe "wicked and anti-Igbo" Nigeria set them free next day after they were arrested.

brain54:Investigate and you will note many citizens of nations of the world get exemption, based on their academic credentials from their home Countries, when they move to the West, that Nigerians are automatically denied of. That's the reality. Nigeria has the least integrity in the eyes of the world because of educational certification malpractices in our nation that is common knowledge. See YouTube video below if you think I am one of those who talk carelessly without proof. 22,000 fake degrees obtained in Benin Republic and Togo the Nigerian Government invalidated. A whopping 22,000 bro and that is even the one they are aware off !!! 😲😲You think foreign Countries, like the Uk, are not privy to what is revealed below? As for Dino Melaye, Deji Adeyanju and Rotimi Amaechi, they all gained their law degrees from Baze University in Abuja. Coincidence or 'choice' University for politicians or wannabe politicians (Deji Adeyanju ) working towards SAN glory that will allow them even more ' lord of the manor movement' in the Nigerian public space same way a passionate hunter buys bigger and better guns to kill better? Go figure buddy. Some of us understand the reality and workings of Nigeria not for public consumption. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/fake-degrees-fg-probes-107-private-varsities/%3famp Nigeria currently has a total of 147 private universities. Checks on the National Universities Commission’s website indicate that 107 of them were established in the last 15 years. Among them are Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State; Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State; Elizade University,Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State; and Baze University, Abuja, among others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35dXk1l2yvQ?si=lA1cmiXMQDXzFxQp

She can't blame the UK for not allowing her jump straight into practising law there after arriving from Nigeria. They're not dumb to not see how Rotimi Amaechi, Deji Adeyanju, Dino Melaye, and literally thousands of other wealthy Nigerians, buy Law degrees, from even Nigeria's neighbouring countries like Togo and Benin Republic, and even "call to the bar". The reality they know about us reveals they will destroy their systems over there if they take our "professionals" at face value. This is not indictment of this lady who may be a properly qualified and talented lawyer. She however needs to accept it is best she does the needful and gain all accreditation that will allow her practice law in the UK. That's how she needs to move and not lamenting about her former life in Nigeria publicly after she willinglymade the decision to relocate . The truth is that Nigeria is a nation that fails to do the right thing and thus expose her people to ridicule where systems are organised with strict insistence on compliance and proven capacity in important professions like Medicine, Law, architecture etc. |
richiemcgold:Same here !! Very simple consideration. As a fan of the President, this is one thing I am not happy with him over. He must Wade into the matter personally and charge the AGF to bring closure to this charade. Finland that would have relied on many external items of evidence to make their case against Ekpa, whose crimes were against a nation far away from his adopted nation, concluded the cased quickly and jailed Ekpa appropriately without fuss, drama or ridiculously lengthy delay Nigeria that is the nation Kanu allegedly commited crimes against, and ostensibly in possession of many direct evidence against the IPOB leader, continue to drag her feet disgracefully after Finland has shaded us on the international stage per the concept of how the law should move in working nations. The current situation of Kanu is not acceptable. It is a disgrace to Nigeria. |
truthera:Kanu can't be "released". What I can agree should happen is for all Nigerians to demand for a fair and expedited trial so he is found guilty and sentenced immediately, as we saw happen with Ekpa in Finland, or found innocent and set free instantly. As for you people's redundant obsession with highlighting the disparity between the treatment of Kanu and Northern terrorist/bandits, which I have a problem with also, use your tongue to count your teeth. If you cannot, as a start, accept and work with the fundamental and unspoken realities of Nigeria, as you Igbos have never shown a capacity for, then you will forever be reduced, at great losses to yourselves, to making victimhood noise of frustration that will go unheeded as has always been the case. The saying "work smarter, not harder" is one it seems you Igbos are destined to never understand. |
helinues:Lol. You got it spot on. Watch as they congregate here to have a "Sowore has vindicated us" Pity Party. I've personally spoken about some legit wrongs such as Kanu's unacceptable lengthy incarceration in the Country he allegedly commited crimes against whereas Finland quickly established Ekpa's guilt and jailed him for crimes against Nigeria. Nonetheless, it is for Igbos to always be pragmatic, critical-thinking, emotionally intelligent and guided to note the reality and nature of the nation they are in. Igbos already know the North Vs South dichotomy and the partiality it breeds affecting all Southerners including Yorubas, Edo's, Urhobos, Itsekiri etal. Eg Quota system, Sharia law judgement demoting Federal government laws in the North, different interpretation of dealing with terrorists since Nigeria officially designated Boko Haram, Bandits and IPOB as terrorist groups etc, etc. Those realities are enough to make a wise man think and adjust. When you know the reality you face why keep working foolishly, emotionally and without sense? Yet they alone will show lack of emotional intelligence to behave outlandishly to then be playing victims afterwards whereas all other Southerners who know the reality of Nigeria work with it, and not against it, to get results. Let me ask the whole forum some questions. Would Sunday Igboho be free today had he been as outlandish in talk and actions threatening to go to Abuja to return with the head of Buhari? Or publicly soliciting for guns to fight Nigeria for the actualisation of Oduduwa Republic, in a show of playing into the hands of your enemies, knowing what the Constitution stipulates about secession and how the North, naturally, will always be ready to quote that in insistence such from any Southerner must be severely punished? Would Igboho not be in Kanu's situation had Yoruba leaders and even ordinary Yorubas, as I did on this forum, not told him to pipe down, whereas Igbos at all levels egged Kanu on only to then be crying when the Nigerian Fulani factor happened to him? Do we not know, by now, Northern terrorism, banditry, Kidnapping etal is open to "rehabilitation" and "amnesty" while same Northerners are loudest insisting Kanu must be dealt with severely and to the full extent of the law? Frederick Nwabufo, an Igbo I respect immensely for his pragmatical intellect and capacity for critical thinking, says it all below and we all know he is right. Just as you mentioned from the start when you said "emotions will do the rest", we are confronted by how the emotional inclination of Igbos never allow them appreciate reality and the thinking, talk and behaviour that is needed to getting best result within that reality so they stop being the perennial "victims" of the Nigerian reality many Nigerians, including myself and Nwabufo below, have serious issues with. https://www.thecable.ng/buhari-must-send-kanu-back-kuje-prison-send-arewa-youth-leaders-kirikiri/

Jorussia:It really is tragic. Majority of the 12 were from Katsina, home of Buhari, and Kaduna, El Rufai's State. This is why I feel bile in my mouth when Atiku said nothing during Buhari's eight years only to now be attacking Tinubu daily and from the day he was sworn in. Whereas El Rufai goes further to call Tinubu "evil". These Northern leaders are the cause of all this and it is getting worse because they prefer to play politics while an epidemic of youth-led criminality, their children are behind, threatens to destroy Nigeria. One poster said earlier he knows of a security guard from the North with 27 kids with only four educated to secondary school level. How do Northern leaders not see that as a big problem and red flag 'recruiting Sergeant' for Terrorism, armed Robbery/Kidnapping gangs and banditry? If Northern leaders are serious and well-meaning then when are they going to declare a state of emergency on compulsory education, resolve to formally fight against religious radicalisation aiding terrorism and banditry, convene serious and formal effort to use family planning to tackle uncontrolled birth of numerous children's most Northerners have no means of caring for etc, etc? They have all these severe problems that means Northern leaders, if well-meaning and focused, should have come together ages ago and gotten to work instead of always chasing quick return of the Presidency to the North, when it is with a southerner, by focusing all their misplaced energy on trying to discredit the Southerner in power. I'd like to think if this were Yorubas experiencing this then Yoruba leaders, though corrupt as others are, would still be humane and caring enough to have come together to try and find solutions. They certainty would never be fully focused on gaslighting others, pretending as if we don't have a problem, while our house is burning. It is a shame Nigeria lack the focus to really speak truth to Northerners to face there numerous serious problem that is now a problem threatening all Nigeria. How long will it take the North to even have a single Awolowo-type of leader considering we know and understand the saying "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". We are yet to see Northern leaders "get going" at all in the face of what any group of people would view severe problems that are existential threats to they themselves and others. The conscience of Northern leaders does not prick them at all knowing they are directly the cause of the big problems of the North now a bigger problem for Nigeria as a whole. This is why I feel disgust listening to El Rufai call Tinubu "evil", while Atiku who dwells in Dubai to ignore his people, as Tinubu has never done, attack PBAT daily with Ndume, literally 200 years as a a legislator, sanctimoniously attacks the Presidency constantly. It really makes me wonder the species of humanity Northern Political leaders are because even as a Yoruba with no political office, I would feel real shame and grief if Yorubas were causing Nigeria this grief, with Yoruba bandits and terrorist killing many daily and everywhere in the SW and beyond, wrecking agriculture for the entire nation, creating insecurity that prevents free travel across our nation and automatically curtails the possibility of Nigeria developing her tourism sector, sacking whole communities and displacing many etc etc. Talk less of how I would feel if a politician able to have worked/acted to prevent the development. I do however know myself to feel that, as politician, if I had somehow been part of the problem, with my actions and inactions as a political leader, then I would today be fully focused on being part of the solution considering how bad things have become. I am also pretty sure I would not be callous enough to feign ignorance of what is going on or even opportunistically pretend such is linked to the President in Power. That would mean inhuman dereliction of my responsibility, after severe problems has arrived, while I am still able to play cynical politics. The North is becoming worse than Afghanistan and the lack of concern and sense of responsibility of Northern leaders, to seek solutions, is troubling. |
Otamendi99:Don't mind all these naysayers. The Nigerian Police Force can work, and work well, if 'incentivised'. I've seen them track culprits as well and deliver result. |
