OneCandleAway:Is that your new prayer now? The USA come in and destroy oor nation like Iraq, Libya etal? God forbid. That should happen when Nigeria splits so you can use your own mouth to invited the USA come and destroy your own seperate nation, remove your elected President and leave rebels scrambling for power and control. |
franchasng:Lol. You lot have given up on the Remi Tinubu poisoning her husband option? You are now frustrated with praying PBAT does not return after every trip abroad? Eyah, ndo, pele, sorry. Unfortunately the Army cannot help you out. I don't think they feel helping 'emergency lovers of Nigeria' secure Igbo Presidency is their job. |
givedemwotowoto:Continue daydreaming. It is allowed. |
Anti-Tinubu dreamers hyperventilating above. Discuss Madagascar coup and stop drawing comparisons to Nigeria because of what you desperately wish for. No military coup possible in Nigeria any more. We are not a Banana Republic. |

SmartPolician:Lol. Typical. When your sort are discredited by progressive and patriotic Nigerians, the default talk is to call them "paid". Lame, predictable and pedestrian. Try harder. |
Front0lane:His talk is actually nothing other that bad belle-induced ignorance at it most shameless. He saw $3 billion USD in the topic title and jumped in the ask what is Lagos doing with allocation if the State is borrowing to fund the project. Minimally, he is not even aware of the funding model for the project yet still rushed in to speak ignorantly. |
pasol4real:Lol. We know the pain is too much for una. Consult DAWN initiative 'Road map' to see the transport plans for the regional integration of the SW. You will witness it happen in severe frustration and pain. |
SmartPolician:Crystal clear you're the one wailing in pain and frustration. At least anyone who can read and comprehend now no, without a doubt, what you are. |
SmartPolician:You guys from a certain region are always first to rush into threads revealing any good news at related to Lagos and the SW in general to display ignorance and lack of knowledge in haste to paint negative pictures. You you need to remove the Smart from your username. Lagos is not funding this project wholly. It is a PPP with the China Harbour Engineering Company. Lagos counterpart funding is #146.17 billion Naira. Which is approximately $100 million USD. You guys should really work hard on making your bad belle and ill-will towards others so obvious. It is nauseating.
|
brain54:It's legit. He is irritating though with his childish antic daily on this forum. In this day and age of literally thousand fake news per day, how does a balanced adult present what appears controversial news without providing legit source. It is why most poster will waka pass when they see his thread. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2025/10/12/mali-imposes-retaliatory-visa-bond-fees-on-us-travellers |
maxiuc:You guys are jokers, not Tinubu or Yorubas, who can never stop displaying your rabid and baseless hatred of Yorubas over every issue. Let's inspect facts intelligently even as I am sure you are ignorant of the facts in this case. This guy got 20 years not life. Meaning, unless stipulated at sentencing, he may be subject to inspection by the prison parole review board for early release based on remorse and adequate rehabilitation in prison. He has served 12 years already. What has Tinubu done, after advisement from qualified authorities on the issue he has to trust, the Prison parole review board could not have done for you to launch this attack against the SW and Yorubas? |
vanvik1234:I agree. It is a thinking man's take on issues. You are correct that banning open grazing will not work. Much like how banning of bikes are hard to enforce in Lagos when many cannot reach their houses from the main roads which tends to be motorable whereas the roads to their door isn't. |
lawani:It is a big deal because of the Nigerian factor whereby the herders don't want to embrace modernity and change to transition away from moving cattle across grazing route from the North to South of Nigeria. Aiding this also is the ulterior expansionist motives of their sponsors who deliberately want them present outside the North to be causing insecurity and unrest. The unique complexity of what has created the problem of open grazing for Nigeria, being used as an excuse to commit crime and create insecurity, requires innovative solutions. RUGA , for example, was good but scare-mongering and short-sightedness killed it. Main reason it is good is because allowing ranches across the South for breeding cattle leads to the containment of grazing activities, within designated areas, without giving off the signal Fulanis are not wanted outside their traditional homes in the North. If you have watched the videos online of confrontations you would have noted where Fulanis are insisting, as if rehashing indoctrinated speech, to Southerners challenging them to leave their land, that they are entilted to move around Nigeria. In the middle belt, they make same argument with deadly violence even. Would it not make sense to ignore scaremongering of Nigerians, who think think zero presence of Fulanis in their land solves all presence of insecurity, and government forges ahead with commercial ranching that provides controlled presence of Cattle rearing in all regions of Nigeria meaning whoever engages in open grazing after that the beginning of formal ranching can be challenged and prosecuted with the support of all? |
yahyus:For sure. The Lekki masterplan has been seriously compromised by how, for far too long, the Lekki expressway remained the main road linking the many residential estates and business hubs across the entire Lekki. More options were needed as is always the case for cosmopolitan, busy and heavily populated geographical spaces of the world like London, New York etc. With the green line, aided by the option of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, the huge commercial and socio-economic potentials of Lekki can be unlocked. |
@OP. Nice and interesting threads concerning an issue critical to the improvement of peace, security and agricultural success. Some really good point many do not account for when they simplistically speak as if Nigeria is an uncomplicated nation, with homogeneity of ideas across regions plus ethnicities and religions, where announcement of open grazing is enforced immediately, fully and without exception. Fighting banditry and terrorism is frustrated by the same compromises you highlight as preventing a robust and complete enforcement of the ban on open grazing. If more Nigerian see issues as clearly as you do then we'd make quick progress regarding our most serious problems made far more challenging by differences in ethnicity, culture, religion and inflexible regional ways of life. |
This is truly a gamechanger I have been waiting to hear announced. This is because Lekki, especially the vast corridor from Abraham Adesanya towards Epe, needs far more transport options to lessen the burden on the lekki expressway as the major link road traversing the many residential Estates and business hub across Lekki from Phase one all the way to Epe. The Lagos-Calabar coastal road helps immensely but the green line will be more utilised because of the alternative non-road option it offers. I can see the Lekki international Airport, Tinubu's baby, now getting clearance quickly. Adebayo Ogunlesi is a name to watch as a possible concessioner of that project as he admitted Tinubu wanted his greater involvement in port and transport success of Nigeria when they had talks recently. |
marlow1962:Agree with the bolded 100%. Frankly, Nigeria needs a thinking and innovative citizenry to make considerable progress. I am not sure we possess that. |
Montana23:I am not suggesting breaking away. I am suggesting what is shown below which retains the major strenghts of Nigeria, like our diversity and huge population, yet gives States and regions the latitude and freedom to devise unique solutions talior-made to their own peculiar challenges that the 'one cap fits all' limitations of 'One Nigeria' will never allow. https://punchng.com/swest-govs-propose-six-regions-demand-lg-autonomy-resource-control/

NathOlamiposi:It really is shocking. Politicians , especially those in opposition, will politick and politrick. Normal normal. Yet they still need to keep it sane, believable and resembling the truth. Lying Tinubu "pardoned 70 drug lords" is sad and desperate lying on 2 counts. (1) Not all beneficiaries of Tinubu's Presidential Mercy power were pardoned. Some gained clemency, meaning they can go home from jail, while many, to include those Melaye called "drug lord" , had their sentences reduced for good behaviour and adequate reformation within the prison system. No different to what prison board parole committee do. (2) The Presidential Mercy committee never served an agenda of abetting "70 drug lord" as Melaye wants to delude gullible Nigerians to believe. Majority of those who received the mercy of the President for drug offences include a majority convicted for possessing small quantities of Cannabis. Anyone can use the link below to verify. Melaye, and many of his failed acolytes like Malami etal, are simply just desperate to get back to Nigerian public leadership job they know is the easiest slush funds in the whole world https://statehouse.gov.ng/details-of-the-presidential-pardon-and-clemency/ |
Montana23:No martyr or messiah can save Nigeria. A move away from 'one Nigeria' for a better Governance system, is what will save Nigeria. It is Nigerians who must fight for that, by engaging their thinking and consciousness, to demand what is needed from leaders. |
jamafa:Lol. Don't mind the hypocrites. What is even sadder, looking at the big pictures, is how we are seeing, live and direct, the crude lies, propaganda and very basic manipulations failures likes Melaye, Abaribe and co use to gain access to public leadership position and remain in such for decades while doing absolutely nothing for those they lead. Anyone can check the list below to note Melaye is a desperate and shameless liar. I am sure Onanuga and co will have his time later today. Lol. https://statehouse.gov.ng/details-of-the-presidential-pardon-and-clemency/ |
Okoroawusa:Lol. Don't mind him. Names are shown below. Even the young man jailed in Osun for 5 years, way too long for what is like personal use, over 6 grams of cannabis possesion is a "drug lord" according to Melaye. What is worrying is that Melaye feels no shame at all manipulating adult Nigerians this unintelligently while same Nigerians show they are too mentally lazy, prejudiced and unsophisticated to note they are being played by those who want to use them for hidden agendas. Yet Nigerians wonder how crooks are plentiful in our nation's leadership as if they played no part putting them there. https://statehouse.gov.ng/details-of-the-presidential-pardon-and-clemency/ |
Christistruth03:He can't list names as that will expose the fact he is a shameless liar, desperado and opportunist working with the theory "if you want to hide anything from a black man keep it in a book". He knows many will never view the list below to note his 70 "drug lord" claim is a complete lies normal adults should be ashamed to tell to a 10 year old let alone adult Nigerians. Yet who can we blame but adult Nigerians who, for many reasons, have made themselves individuals some with hidden agendas can manipulate and con with ease? Anyway I am sure Onanuga and co will soon fire back with their own rebuttal. https://statehouse.gov.ng/details-of-the-presidential-pardon-and-clemency/ |
Melaye is lying hoping to work up gullible, mentally lazy and ignorant Nigerians he assumes form the majority. He is doing that because he is a desperate to secure a route back to politics through ADC capturing the centre. The fact is that there is nothing like "70 drug lords" at all. He wants to defraud Nigerians packaging the lie Tinubu showed mercy to 70 Pablo Escobar level "drug lords" because he believes the average Nigerian is ignorant, prejudiced and easily 'herded'. He know the 70 Tinubu showed mercy to, after drug offences, include majority convicted for Cannabis offence include those who had like grams on them any sane person know is likely for personal use. Yet he went public to give a false and sensationalised version of events to discredit PBAT whereas he , Melaye, has never had anything to offer Nigerians nor delivered 0.0001% of the leadership Tinubu has to anyone. Simple scams based on deliberate deceit and misinformation of the public, too lazy to investigate anything, is how the likes of Melaye get into power and remain in it for life unless stopped . Melaye, and Tinubu haters on NL, who have already contributed ignorantly above, I dare you both to show us the 70 "drug lord" from the list in the link below to include young Nigerians caught with 6 grams of cannabis, likely for personal use and jailed for 5 years. https://statehouse.gov.ng/details-of-the-presidential-pardon-and-clemency/ |
Stroke is a difficult beast. If the news is confirmed, wishing him a speedy and complete recovery as much as is possible. |
helinues:They'll never do anything. Yet they'll be quick to ban those of us who always provide links and evidence to back third Party article/claims here. |
LagosOrigin:What use is 100 Antony Joshua's against 20 assailants who ,even if 14 years old, are inhuman and callous killers clutching AK47 they have been trained to use? You think it won't be game over for these bandits if Nigerians they attack, at least the men, were allowed similar fire power? Northern leaders , include some that some Southerners now support misguidedly, are using the porous borders up North to bring in supply of Guns for these Demons. Those borders merging with Fulani nations, like Niger Republic, are virtually impossible to secure against compromise. They even use those borders to flee outside Nigeria after committing atrocities in our nation. That's the main issues. |
Onyiiobi7735:Only God can save some of you. No mention of a single name and you are talking of "movement". Abi the "elders, recognized for their wisdom and leadership" have no names? "Youth leader from Osun state" has no identity? What a joke. |
FIRDAUS3:Bro, it is not even about sponsored anything. Look at the vague and opaque references to "revered Yoruba elders" and "declared a youth leader from Osun state" plus "the elders, recognized for their wisdom and leadership" etc, etc. Yet no mention of a single name anyone can put an enquiry phonecall, email or SMS to. That is their standard play so don't be fooled by their "Buhari dead and replaced by Jubrin" propagandists antics. Their modus operandi is to assume all others are fools and then launch fake news and propaganda with no names or backing evidence at all. Nigerians are wiser now. We read these sort of story several times daily from these desperate lot. |
