TIN nko?
What is the solution
Tax identification number? I am sure liason offices in the diaspora can help with that. No way they will court the massive financial might of the diaspora and leave TIN to be a bottleneck.

In fact, NIN and Nigerian passports are fairly easy to obtain in the diaspora currently and I am sure TIN will not be a problem.

Not possible under Tinubu who, whatever anyone wants to accuse him of, has never stood in the way of cash and wealth flowing everywhere and to everyone.

This is why you can arrive lagos from Benue, Abia, Taraba, Edo, Akwa Ibom etal today to be fairly wealthy in the next two years.

Tinubu is exemplary when it comes to liberalising access to wealth creation and personal development opportunities for everyone.

God bless you. The biggest battle that we will fight, in search of a great Nigeria, is with ourselves.

This is because of how we are a people so divided along ethnic, religious, cultural and sectional lines we lack homogeneity of thought over even the most basic considerations others in African Nations like Ghana, Seychelles, Angola, Morocco, Egypt etal are never at odds over.

Announce this in Ghana for example, that is if it isn't even in place already, and all Ghanaians would jubilate whether Akan, Ga, Fanti, Ewe etal or Moslem, Christian etc. Crystal clear Nigerians are their own worst enemies.

We have had

global scamdemic about humiliating the global population and injecting people with #&%#$%

global cost of living scamdemic where the cost of all essential items multiplied Astronomically

And now the current global scamdemic is about robbing people blind with tax as a tool for depopulation,

all over the world people are running around like headless chicken looking for place to hide from the thieving tax man , who does no work but collects everybody money. All those who fled to dubai are now having to pay tax too, all those who fled to Asia Thailand etc are having their bank accounts closed.

If you dont know the tax will keep rising until the world population is down to ghost town , well for those planning to defy them by having kids , now you know. You either join them get rich have kids, or dont join the armed robbers and have no kids. Cause where all this is going you will not be able to afford family if you dont join them, them being the people who are well armed enough to collect everybody money without doing any work themselves.

The final solution of Adolf Hitler in progress through bandits, fire, flooding , kidnapping , cost of living, taxation .......
Okay we have also Heard you. Thank you for your contribution.

Some of us who are knowledgeable and know where the world is heading remain optimistic over developments like this.

That is because we know progressive and ambitious nations must maximise all aspects of the endeavours of their people , home and abroad, to the benefit of their citizens (Nigerians) and nation (Nigeria) asap and other Government have failed to empower Nigeria achieve this synergy between Nigeria a d her diasporan people. .

What we had previously was zero in place to help diasporan utilize the money, earned from from their labour in the west, better in Nigeria to their own benefit and that of our nation.

Previously their wealth, from their labour and hard, work would be enjoyed by the UK, USA, Canada etal making those country greater at Nigeria's expense.

Now they can invest in the Nigerian public and private financial and investment sectors with good personal returns for them while Nigeria gains the money of her diasporan population as an additional source of nation-building wealth.

Win win For those of us not ready to join you admitting Nigeria is doomed and everything coming from her is bad, evil and "scamdemic".

They are looking how to tax every transaction involving Nigerians living abroad.

If you know what is good, don't fall for their pranks because at the end, you will be paying for more taxes than transactions
So you do not consider Nigerians having access to the offerings of the numerous financial services, including investments that can complement their labour and hard work overseas, a good thing?

All you can perceive is negatives i.e "more taxes" etc?

Can I tell you, for example, as someone who has one, that the British ISA (Individual savings accounts) is the best ,government-backed home for personal savings that attract no interest?

If I then tell you that UK ISAs pays pittance interest in comparison to what Nigerians can earn if they have access, facilitated by the PBAT Government, to buy Nigerian treasury bills, for example, from their diasporan base would you say that is a bad thing?

The best UK ISAs pay circa 4.3% fixed deposit (refraining from touching your savings for lengthy periods of time) meaning it is the best investment vehicle Nigerians living in the UK can access. Other UK non-ISA investment offer far less yield over a year .

If the Nigerian government then opens up the channel for our diasporans to buy 12 to 24 months fixed deposit treasury bills at 11% to 18% interest returns, you would want our hardworking brothers and sisters in the diaspora to remain cut off from that so you can rant on about taxes when we know your real purpose for doing so is not because you care about Nigerians or what is best for them?

They save in the UK and get low returns. The UK is the winner as it uses their saving to improve the UK.

They save in Nigeria, via treasury bills for example , and get guaranteed high returns, with Nigeria winnings since more money is available for our government to use on infrastructural development etal, yet you have an issue with this?

Meanwhile, bear in mind foreign expatriates/workers in Nigeria have no issues repatriating their earning in Nigeria for use in their home nation because of their financially flexible and sophisticated systems Tinubu is trying to replicate. Yet you still embrace negativity alone.

What of even the limitless opportunities now open to Nigerians to invest directly in the shares, property development, asset banking (land for example), commodity and Forex trading sector etal ?

Nigeria's financial sector, about to blow as Asiwaju has always known how to achieve, is being opened to the huge diaspora sector, that foreign countries mainly benefitted from previously, to now create a mutually beneficial Country and diaspora community partnership yet you frown on those to distractedly talk negatively about tax?

Bro, take time to think of what you have become because this is revolutionary and those leaders who, before Asiwaju, prevented Nigerians from having full and mutually beneficial access to the Nigerian financial sector, whereas they were dutifully remitting over $19 billion yearly and getting nothing in return, are the ones deserving your negative vitriol if you know what this CNN initiative will achieve.

Just watch. You guys will be shamed regardless of how you are determined to be obsessively negative about anything and everything the PBAT government does.

Indeed Sir, and I believe so too. Yet we will get their quicker if Nigerians can pull the rope in the same direction instead of in opposite 'tug of war' manner, as is the case currently.

Nigerian has the second highest remittance in the entire Africa behind Egypt ( the link below confirms it) and it is time diasporans have access , from their location overseas, to the whole range of what is on offer from our Nigerian financial system and services.

This is laudable from the CBN. Cardoso and his crew are doing a good job and proving that we must give leaders sensible time to work and deliver positive changes.

US is the only saving grace of western civilization and Europe
I know they are not. Yet, and similarly, they weren't happy also when they voted Brexit because of the view foreigners and immigrants were the cause of all the UK woes. How has that knee jerk reaction worked out for the UK?

What Government will hardly admit is that they made serious mistakes. If not the UK will admit exiting the EU is the biggest mistake the Country has made in the 21st century.

The UK is much worse off for it and I can confirm this as a businessman engaged in international trade who has seen UK businesses, including mine, suffer due to bottlenecks now seeing loss of trade for British firms.

Luckily, because of dual citizenship, I was able to divesify specific business interest to operate in Nigeria and make up the shortfall trading with the EU from the UK was costing me.

Today UK leadership is trying, with "trade negotiations", to re-integrate into the EU on the down low because that is the only solution bar admitting they got it wrong and begging their people to allow them rejoin the EU formally.

Those are the sort of real examples they won't show you that vividly confirm that human beings, as they are naturally prone to do, must not make important decisions on whims.

Most of us are designed to think others are the problem to then simplistically conclude solutions must be all out war to get rid of those people and all our woes disappear overnight.

This is why, for example, I prefer regional autonomy than the outright balkanisation of Nigeria that will cause problems even for those who believe they are best placed to make their new nation Dubai and Singapore-like economic powerhouses overnight.

Leaders cannot think and act like ordinary people. They must listen to their citizens and carefully weigh their agitations but solutions must be pragmatic, unemotional and visionary with long term efficacy in mind.

If UK leaders want, they can tow the uncompromising and radical path of the US currently, which is to me the janus face of what American leaders under Trump insist they are fighting, and learn a lesson that may be more painful than Brexit.

Business › CBN Removes 7 Banking Barriers For Nigerians Abroad by WizardOfNG(op): 7:39am On Sep 24, 2025
The CBN just removed these 7 banking barriers for Nigerians abroad.

The Central Bank of Nigeria has finally dismantled the longstanding obstacles that have kept millions of Nigerians in diaspora disconnected from their homeland’s financial system. With the launch of the Non-Resident Bank Verification Number (NRBVN), yesterday in Abuja, the CBN has systematically eliminated barriers that once restrained Nigerians abroad from making seamless and cost-effective financial transactions to Nigeria. This transformative initiative is already eliciting much excitement from Nigerians living abroad as a dream come true. Now they can make transactions from anywhere in the world as if they’re right in Nigeria.

1. Mandatory physical presence for banking services

The Barrier: Previously, Nigerians abroad had to physically travel to Nigeria just to open accounts, update information, or complete basic banking tasks.

CBN’s Solution: The NRBVN has eliminated this requirement entirely, allowing complete digital verification from anywhere in the world.

What This Means For You: No more expensive flights home just to handle banking matters. As CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso highlighted at the NRBVN launch, this removes “considerable costs in terms of time and financial resources, especially for individuals residing in remote locations.” Your financial connection to Nigeria is now independent of your physical location.

2. Limited access to Nigerian financial institutions

The Barrier: Distance created an insurmountable wall between diaspora Nigerians and Nigerian banks, restricting their ability to fully participate in the financial system.

CBN’s Solution: A comprehensive digital platform that connects Nigerians abroad directly to the entire banking ecosystem.

What This Means For You: You can now open and manage accounts, conduct transactions, and access the full range of services from your phone or computer. The new platform creates what Governor Cardoso calls a “single digital gateway” that enables “seamless access to banking services” for all Nigerians, regardless of where they live.

3. Restricted investment opportunities

The Barrier: Complex procedures and verification requirements effectively blocked diaspora participation in Nigeria’s growing investment markets.

CBN’s Solution: The NRBVN paired with the complementary Non-Resident Investment Account (NRNIA) opens access to the full spectrum of investment options.

What This Means For You: Direct participation in Nigerian stocks, government bonds, real estate, and pension products is now possible without logistical headaches. The CBN has ensured you’ll have “the flexibility to fully repatriate the proceeds of your investments” when needed, removing another major concern for diaspora investors.

4. Expensive and insecure remittance channels

The Barrier: High fees (averaging 7%) and security concerns made sending money home both costly and risky.

CBN’s Solution: Formalized, regulated channels with lower transaction costs and enhanced security measures.

What This Means For You: More of your hard-earned money reaches its intended recipients safely and efficiently. This barrier removal is set to boost remittances, one of many initiatives to enable the CBN meet its $1billion monthly target from $4.73 billion for the whole of 2024.

5. One-size-fits-all banking products

The Barrier: Nigerian banks rarely offered financial products designed for the unique needs of customers living abroad.

CBN’s Solution: A formal directive for banks to develop specialized offerings for diaspora customers.

What This Means For You: Access to financial products that actually understand your cross-border lifestyle, including specialized savings accounts, diaspora mortgages, curated investment bundles, and seamless cross-border services. The CBN has explicitly called on banks to “proactively develop and offer products specifically tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of our diaspora community.”

6. Inconsistent regulatory framework

The Barrier: Unclear and often changing regulations created uncertainty and risk for diaspora financial engagement.

CBN’s Solution: A clear, consistent framework built on successful models from countries like India and Pakistan.

What This Means For You: Confidence in a stable, tested system that has proven successful elsewhere. India’s similar framework has attracted $160 billion in deposits, while Pakistan’s Roshan Digital Account has pulled in nearly $10 billion. The CBN has adapted these successful models to Nigeria’s specific context.

7. Disconnection from economic Nation-building

The Barrier: Distance often prevented diaspora Nigerians from contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.

CBN’s Solution: Formal channels for investment in development projects and job creation initiatives.

What This Means For You: The ability to strengthen Nigeria’s economy and support community development from afar. As Governor Cardoso emphasized, this initiative ensures “that every Nigerian, no matter their location, remains connected and empowered to contribute to Nigeria’s vibrant future.”

This landmark initiative represents what the CBN Governor calls “not the final destination, but the beginning of a broader journey.” The CBN continues to refine the system based on diaspora feedback, progressively removing any remaining barriers to full financial inclusion, because your financial connection to Nigeria should be as strong as your cultural one.

Yet she needs to be wiser with her choices. She is led always by two things she is seeking. One of it she has to accept will not remain forever because the world is a stage and we play our part to then leave gracefully and thankful for memories and successes achieved.

The other thing, cannot come without her instrospecting, taking a good and honest look at herself and her situation, to then change her inflexible mindset about what that desired thing must have/be.

They have almost turned parts of London into karachi
Can it not be argued parts of London is like Lagos too or is it only Asians and Moslems we must attack because Trump, a racist, white supremacist and religious bigot, has attacked Sadiq Khan?

Perhaps you cannot see what is going on. Trump is a highly divisive white supremacist bigot, dictator and a man of many prejudices.

Hr believes the way to fight what/who he hates personally is to abuse Presidential power that allows him to disregard the opinion and even rights of others, in dictatorial and uncompromising ways, to secure 'wins'.

Whatever damage is being done to the USA and the psyche of her people is acceptable "collateral damage" for "defeating" these "very bad people". Just as his "son" Charlie Kirk stated unapologetically and offensively that gun deaths US experience yearly is 'collateral damage" for Americans to continue enjoying the rights to bear arms.

Kirk also insinuated slavery was good as blacks were more subdued under it and committed far less crime. Bright folks know his talk is part of a grand plan to entrench the idea blacks need more aggressive subjugation and I hope you agree passionately with Trump's "son's" views regarding black folks, of which you are one, rather than pick and choose what you whish to accept or reject from repellent people.

Google "Trump turning US into christian nation". You will see many hits. Read the one below to note what Trump is doing. Which is attempting radicalised 'Christianizing' of the US, many have fought to define a secular nation, because he believes that is what will fight Islam, Moslems and certain people.

You are not ashamed to back a character who can disrespectfully insult the elected public leader of a sovereign nation that is not the USA he has jurisdictional control over, I.e Sadiq Khan a UK leader, merely because he hates "brown people's and Moslems. Can Sir Keir Starmer, UK Prime Ministwr, call Kash Patel, FBI director, an incompetent buffoon merely because he hates Patel's ethnic origin and/or religion?

What would give Starmer the right to ever do that?

Naturally, you will never see it (for obvious reasons) but commonsense shows that Trump views you Nigerians in the same disdainful way per his Hitler-like obsession with defining the USA as a nation that should be led by white Conservative Christian supremacy and privilege where the rights of all others, not in the category of those he views the 'master people' are trampled on. He is a dangerous and unhinged individual.

Many of us accept Islamic fundamentalism is a problem. No one needs to tell us Nigerians that as it is becoming a bigger existentialist problem for our nation daily. Yet, reasonable people cannot agree with Trump and his crew's far right views and approach to fighting what/who they hate especially with the might of the US Presidency at their disposal.

It is an office that can do a lot of good or harm. Trump's Presidency is doing the latter and frankly, knowing Nigerians and the 'distinct' thinking and attitude of her biggest ethnic groups, I am not surprised you are an automatic backer of everything Trump does and endorse his attack on anyone even if, in the case of Khan, he has gone far beyond his station to publicly attack and vilify the elected leader of another nation as diplomatic cordiality between nations who are not enemies prohibits Trump from doing.

Trumps approach of using a tank to blow up an ant is dangerous and not one any decent, fair and humane person should feed into merely because he is targeting, as we believe, only those we hate whereas the caveat should be "for now" because it will be you and your interest next and then you will learn that blanket persecution of others is wrong and dangerous for the world. If we all did it then humanity is gone.

The article below, from April 2025, warned that the White Christian nationalism Trump is seeking to foist on the USA will lead to severe restriction of free speech. What is the reality now especially after the death of Kirk?

Below are excerpts. Read the full article to note these people are the white and Christian supremacist mirror image of the Asian Moslem supremacist you hate. The world does not need either because both are a menace to humanity.

Trump has put Christian nationalists in key roles – say a prayer for free speech
This article is more than 5 months old

Experts warn that a specific brand of Christianity will be prioritized and lead to a ‘further dismantling’ of institutions

Wed 16 Apr 2025 12.00 BST

The Trump administration’s promotion of white Christian nationalists and prosperity gospel preachers to key government roles will lead to the “further dismantling of government institutions” and the chilling of free speech, experts have warned.

Donald Trump announced the creation of an “anti-Christian bias” taskforce and a White House Faith Office (WHFO) in February, saying it would make recommendations to him “regarding changes to policies, programs, and practices” and consult with outside experts in “combatting anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, and additional forms of anti-religious bias”.

Both initiatives are dominated by rightwing Christian loyalists – a stark contrast to similar faith-based efforts under Joe Biden and Barack Obama, both of whom welcomed Muslim and Sikh leaders. This has prompted concern that a specific brand of Christianity will be prioritised over other faiths and Christian denominations.

With Trump having recently been pictured being prayed over in the White House by a host of white Christian nationalists, concerns are rising about what a government influenced by those beliefs could mean. White Christian nationalists typically are anti-LGBTQ+, anti-immigration and anti-efforts to ensure racial equality, and broadly believe that America was founded as a white Christian nation and must be returned to such.

“We will see the further dismantling of government institutions. We will see an abandonment of democratic principles and a further perversion of the institutions of justice,” said Katherine Stewart, a journalist and author of Money, Lies and God: Inside the Movement to Destroy American Democracy, which explores what Stewart calls the “antidemocratic movement” – a mix of Christian nationalists, billionaire or super-rich oligarchs and conservative ideologues who have seized control of the Republican party, and aim to fundamentally change the US.
The faith office is headed by Paula White, the tongues-speaking, multimillionaire televangelist who called the Black Lives Matter movement the “Antichrist” and said Jesus would have been “sinful” and not “our Messiah” if he had broken immigration law. And the other appointees to the WHFO are also Christian.
The makeup of Trump’s faith office is so far “not at all” representative of the various religions practiced in the US, said Kristin Kobes Du Mez, a professor at Calvin University and research fellow at the center for philosophy of religion at the University of Notre Dame.

“It’s not even representative of Christianity in the United States,” said Du Mez, who authored the book Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation.

“It’s a pretty narrow slice of rightwing, predominantly, but not exclusively, white conservative Protestantism. But that is the Christianity that Trump thinks of when he thinks of Christianity.”

Lol. Again, it is that sense of entitlement, based on nothing at all, and delusions of grandeur that makes them believe, without any justification whatsoever, they are superior to all other.

All the above of course leads them to over-estimate their worth to others and to society at large. They always assume they are better than all other Nigerians they create derogatory and offensive labels for.

The above then leads them to experience avoidable, bitter and painful losses, in politics for example, when others they underestimate go on to best them. They will then spin such losses as "marginalisation".

Whereas others were far better and more capable than them to begin with meaning, predictably, it is only their inability to give credit to those such is due to that always leaves them on the losing end.

Their cry of marginalisation persist historically because, unlike most others, they never learn from their mistake and instead have the mindset others are always wrong and they are right plus "marginalised victims".

They are not marginalised. They are simply a people who believe they should be greater and more prominently dominant than all others and have more than everyone else.

When they cannot achieve that, they begin shouting marginalisation. This is how they turned Awolowo into a "tribalist" because he did not allow Azikiwe, Onyeama etal turn the SW into an annex of the SE where Yorubas would then be led by Igbos, at all levels, in their own land.

Of course they are "marginalised" if the new and current definition of marginalised is being entirely unreasonable, having a delusional sense of entitlement based on casual disregard for others plus hosting a historically unrelenting obsessing with dominating their fellow Nigerians.

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/opinion/105036-how-the-igbo-introduced-tribalism-to-nigerian-politics-by-femi-fani-kayode.html?tztc=1

”Igbo domination of Nigeria is only a matter of time”-
Charles Onyeama, a prominent igbo lawyer and member of the Central Legislative Council, 1945. (Page 204 ”Ethnic Politics In Kenya and Nigeria” by Godfrey Mwakikagile).

”It would appear that the God of Africa has created the Igbo nation to lead the children of Africa from the bondage of ages ….”
– Dr Azikiwe, President of the Pan-Igbo Federal Union. (The West African Pilot of July 8, 1949).

The first statement from Charles Onyeama, which was made in 1945, was the first overtly tribal and divisive comment that was made and recorded in the politics of southern Nigeria in our history. That is where and when tribalism in the south actually started. After that comment, and as a direct reaction to it, the Yoruba established the ”Egbe Omo Oduduwa” to further and protect Yoruba interests and after that came the formation of the Action Group in 1948.

We should reject progressive development for Nigeria, that factually leaves most Nigerian household better off, to please ignorant naysayers and avowed enemies of the government determined to never see good in what it does and even ready to use lies and propaganda to fool the largely ignorant Nigerian populace?

Why don't you inspect what tax experts, unconnected with the Nigerian government, are saying? Or you and OP wish to claim you know more than them?

In fact listen to Taiwo Oyedele, who led the committee of technocrats that drafted the tax reform bills, explain the provisions of the new tax reforms act

He specifically mplorwd Nigerians to read the act thoroughly to avoid poor understanding which, according to him, is leading to a lot of misinformation currently.

He is clearly frustrated that they are explaining the new tax reforms act to Nigerians copiously and exhaustively and showing factually it is beneficial yet ignorant Nigerians, who have not read the tax reform at all, continue to insist otherwise.

Read the comments also to note a lot of Nigerians are intelligent and progressive unlike many Nairalanders who always automatically double down on insisting all that Government does is bad, unhelpful and punitive to Nigerians.

richmond500:
After all the long epistle, you still fail to understand what the tax law aim to achieve.
There are lots of Nigerians making above 100k monthly that aren't paying tax, now all of them will pay, no short cut, this validates my point that most will be paying the tax.

Now let's go to the part where u accused me of trying to set the people against the govt, seriously? Because I asked how the taxed should be used to better our lives means I am setting the masses against the govt?

Not every one is comfortable driving through potholes, if u are comfortable with it, then so be it
You're confusing yourself. 100k a month or 1.2m a year, you must pay tax under the old tax regime , with 300k per annum threshold, and under new tax reforms act with 800k per annum threshold. .

Most low Income earners, which is a significant amount of Nigerians, are better off under the new tax reforms. Stop peddling misinformation because of your own ignorance.

Read the AFP fact check exposé beloq against misinformation peddled by your ilk to note you need to go and familiarise yourself thoroughly with the provisions of the tax reform act before speaking publicly on them.

https://factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com.73784WE

After that read article below, to note those who will be greatest beneficiary of the new tax reforms to note it is "most" Nigerians. I have provided an excerpt but read the full article and stop the ignorant talk.

There are loads of videos on YouTube also where tax experts explain the benefit of the tax reform act on households, specially low income households that is the majority in Nigeria.

There are literally hundreds of those video. Get educated and stop leading the blind with one eye.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/articles/czdvnmz0j9go.amp

What difference will they make?
The impact is expected to be significant especially for low-income earners, small businesses and informal traders.

For people earning up to 1m naira ($650; £470) a year, a rent relief of 200,000 naira ($130) will be applied, effectively reducing their taxable income to 800,000 naira ($520). This means they will no longer pay income tax, according to Andersen Nigeria, a tax and business advisory firm.

Sellers of essential goods and services such as food, healthcare, education, rent, power, and baby products will no longer have to charge a Value Added Tax (VAT), helping families better afford their basic needs.

Small businesses with annual turnover below 50m naira ($32,400) will no longer pay company income tax. They will also be allowed to file simpler returns, without needing audited accounts.

Large businesses will benefit from reduced corporate tax rates, dropping from 30% to 27.5% in 2025 and 25% in subsequent years.

They will also now be able to claim tax credits for VAT paid on expenses and assets, meaning they can get back the 7.5% that would have been paid as VAT.

There are also tax incentives for charitable groups, co-operatives, educational and religious organisations, provided their earnings do not come from commercial activities.

Who will be affected the most?
Low-income households stand to benefit the most, as many will no longer have to pay income tax while also enjoying price relief on essentials. A typical family spending most of their income on rent, food and transport will see lower costs due to the VAT exemptions.

Small businesses should also see positive changes through more streamlined bureaucracy, which could help boost compliance and encourage informal traders to enter the tax system.

High-income individuals and luxury consumers may feel the pinch slightly, with higher VAT now expected on luxury goods and premium services, and capital gains tax imposed on large share sales.

Most Nigerians will be paying heavy taxes, yet no one is negotiating how the quality of life should be improved.
No one is asking where the money will be channelled to.
No one is talking about better hospitals, schools, electricity, better roads.

No one is worried that we will be giving our hard earned money to govt which could be looted to acquire homes in florida.
Am I really overthinking this? How come we are all fine with this?
Shouldn't Nigerians start a trend to question where the money is going to?
Yes first statement is false, with the emphasis on "most", and thus invalidates your point that Nigerians should demand better quality of life.

They should demand that anyway and beginning from the LG Chairman upward.

Yet this thread is mischievous because you seem to be instigating Nigerian to agitate and protest against government over use of "taxes" they are not playing in the first place since the threshold for paying tax, as a worker, begins from 800k per annum upwards moved from the 300k per annum it was before tax reforms.

It is wrong to peddle inaccurate information against Government initiatives. Especially those that are actually beneficial to "most" Nigerians.

Tax reforms seeks to lift tax burden from majority of Nigerians and that is a factual reality of PBAT's tax reforms that is confirmed beyond the noise of scaremongers and anti-government mischief-makers delivered to feed into the fear and ignorance of gullible Nigerian and the predisposition of those who hate the PBAT government to only wish to see bad in everything it does.

The main purpose of Tax reforms is to aid efficient and compulsory collection of tax from businesses and higher income earners who traditionally avoid paying tax because of lax and inefficient tax collection that has never allowed taxes to be collected efficiently from those who can afford to pay and should pay taxes.

Don't let others gaslight you. Lagos has a problem with agberos for sure. So do other States. Yet, what we know about Lagos is that it will always respond to find solutions when serious challenges arises.

Can same be said for those who are always seeking to malign Lagos yet they all remained silent about Awkuzu SARS atrocities, the worst by far in our nation to include an organ harvesting arm, whose head (James Nwafor) has disappeared into thin air today with not a single one of them ever starting a thread on this forum about his mysterious disappearance and the need to apprehend him?

Can a James Nwafor genocidal butcher descend on the SW and Yorubas, to include me and you, will indulge in an ethnic conspiracy of silence to then be gaslighting other regions as if saintly?

How many of them condemned Gente de Yahoo here? Same conspiracy of silence whereas their own agberos murder and bury bodies over there in total silence.

As a progressive Nigerian, I am all for checkmating agberos in the SW, since that is a welcomed development Lagos need to become saner and more progressives.

For sure it will happen because Lagos is always proactive and never reactive. Hence the reason she is far ahead of all others today.

Yet we know the purpose of these sort of thread cheer-led by the most hateful folks in Nigeria, from the most troubled and self-destructive region in Nigeria, now quoting the AI tool of a racist, fascist and 100% reincarnation of Adolf Hitler.

Lol. Nigerians are such gullible elements, ignorant of what is going on globally, to then be naive pawns those who hate us undersrand they can use to subjugate and continue to exploit/disenfranchise us.

Musk, 100% has been confirmed to be a far right racist and fascist white supremacist ready to use his wealth, as Hitler was willing to use German might to аchieve, to create a 'new world order' of white privilege and supremacy.

Grok is another of his 'tools' he hopes to use controlling the mind of the gullible, in an age of powerful social media manipulation of the narrative, to sway the thoughts and, subsequently, actions of the populace towards anarchy him and his kind hope to profit from.

No different to radio propaganda Hitler and co used to hypnotise Germans over 80 years ago.

Look below at the might of British policing, Met police, battling the false submission of Grok over a far right rally involving a close British pal of musk i.e Tommy Robinson the repellent racist who hate foreigners and immigrants, to include Nigerians.

Musk himself even attended the rally and spoke alongside his fellow racist.

Yet in a time white supremacy is rising and being stoked by very rich and powerful men like Elon Musk and Donald Trump, we know the only Nigerians, because they hate Nigeria and Nigerians, who will keep pushing all the submissions of the discredited GROK, another world domination tool of the racist megalomaniac Elon Musk who is after a 'race war', as Gospel truth.

The skit below gets it right about Musk, Trump etal.
https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSDHgWBJe/

Any African still using GROK for issues relating to the sensitive affairs of nations, the racist and Hitler-like Musk now has a personal and nefarious interest in per controlling global narrative and perception, is a self-destructive fool.

Good luck to those Nigerians who are so bitter and hateful towards Nigeria and Nigerians they can never read the mood of the global room currently.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/sep/14/musks-grok-ai-bot-falsely-suggests-met-misrepresented-footage-of-clashes-with-far-right

The exchanges, the latest examples of the challenges posed to police by social media, came on a day when 26 police were injured during violent scenes and Elon Musk himself addressed the rally organised by the far-right activist known as Tommy Robinson.

There was condemnation of Musk’s comments, delivered via live link to Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. Speaking to him, the billionaire told the crowd that “violence is coming” and that “you either fight back or you die”.

Personally happy the UK has formally joined the category. Long overdue. It is the right thing to do to deliver peace. Rhetoric and spin solves nothing.

It is committing to doing the right things, regardless of what we have to lose personally, that will create a more peaceful and progressive world.

Truly tragic. If Nigerians celebrated their foreign and imported religion with no detrimental side effect then no problem.

Instead, both have now being warped to become a menace, overall, to Nigeria even if Nigerians cannot perceive that.

Had we not entirely demonized and rejected our traditional worship, to supplant them with Christianity and Islam, it is possible Nigeria would be more peaceful and progressive today with traditional worship having it's respected and legitimate place alongside the two most global religions.

Lagos is part and parcel of Yorubaland.. no amount of falsehood from outsiders like you will change that fact.
I don't think he was peddling falsehood or trying to disenfranchise Lagos as a Yoruba State. I believe he was making the point that Lagos is not as traditionally Yoruba as Osun or Oyo for example.

In fact, Ile-Ife is considered the spiritual and cultural cradle of the Yoruba people, the place their civilization began and where the first kings of their dynasty originated.

Oduduwa, According to tradition, is the founder of the Yoruba people who descended from heaven to Ile-Ife to create the earth.

To historically conscious Yorubas, Ile Ife is revered as the source of Yoruba culture and known for its deep spiritual significance foe our ethnic group plus ancient and globally acclaimed Yoruba artistic traditions like bronze casting etc.

Ile Ife, importantly, hosts the divine lineage of one of our foremost kings via the history of the various Oonis from the first onward to the current Ooni in Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II) most Yorubas today recognise.

Every corner of the SW is Yoruba 100% but other areas of Yoruba land , because they are deemed typification of the Yoruba essence, have more signicance to our Yoruba brothers and sisters whose forefathers were taken overseas as slaves over a hundred years ago.

A claim that will make people question your eyesight and perception. Support your Obi jejelli without attempting to label a domestic Cat a Lion. You appear a total joke doing that.
