Politics › Re: Tinubu Will Try To Be ‘president For Life’ Like Paul Biya — El-rufai by WizardOfNG: 2:31pm On Sep 21, 2025
seunmsg:
In 2023, they accused Tinubu of trying to Islamize the country with the Muslim/Muslim ticket. In 2025, the new scaremongering tactics they are deploying is “president for life”. They failed in 2023, they will fail again in 2027.

For proper context, no president since 1999 has done so well in devolving power to the sub-nationals more than president Bola Tinubu. Mr. President has passionately pushed for local government autonomy even when almost all governors are against him. As part of that push, there is no single local government in Nigeria today that is being administered by appointed caretakers.

This same president has devolved power to the states to allow them generate and distribute electricity. Today, serious state governors can now generate and distribute electricity within their states without the need to first send the power to the national grid for national distribution. Abia state for example now generates power in Aba and power is distributed strictly within Aba environs.

State Police is another issue Mr. President has pushed for relentlessly since 2023. Despite the opposition from Fulani people like El-Rufai for obvious reasons, the president has not relented in pushing for revolution of policing powers to the state.

Finally, we all know the president that has done so well in pushing huge allocations to state governments. No president in history has supported states and local governments in terms of funding like the Tinubu administration. So, what’s all the lie all about Mr. Nasir El-Rufai?
Well-said. We know those who want Nigeria to remain backwards. Dogara puts it eloquently below, as a Progressive Northerner seeking the best for Nigeria, addressing issues precisely and factually. He cites precise figure and historically correct event as a leader respectful of the intelligence of Nigeria.

El Rufai and co should take example from Dogara's conduct and talk yet I believe that is impossible because the case is that him and his ilk think they are addressing a moronic, illiterate and unsophisticated populace in totality.

Yakubu Dogara speaks below in contrast to the scaremongering, doom and gloom rants of the born-to-rule Northern supremacists and hegemonists like Atiku, El Rufai, Ndume, Malami Tambuwal, Sule Lamido etal.

Knowledge-seeking folks should read the thoughts of one of the Most progressive Northerner in Nigerian politics, i.e Yakubu Dogara's, on Tinubu leadership and Reforms so far.

We should bear in mind that while the entire North ranted against tax reforms ignorantly, Dogoara was first prominent Northern leader to demand a copy of the bills, read them exhaustively and then swung behind them to the extent of even being an eloquent advocate of their great benefits.

We know those, enemies of Nigeria's progress, who will listen to El Rufai and co to automatically agree with anything and everything they allege against Tinubu.

Same as we know the Nigerians, i.e those genuinely seeking progress for Nigeria, who will inspect Dogara's talk to note the factual and logical conclusions he delivers. The man is so well-read per the current tax reforms, he now delivers lectures on them. Amazing.

Tinubu will end up as Nigeria’s economic reformer – Dogara
17th September 2025

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s sweeping tax reforms as the most ambitious overhaul of Nigeria’s fiscal framework in decades, predicting that the President will be remembered as the country’s foremost economic reformer.

Dogara made the remarks on Tuesday while delivering the maiden Distinguished Parliamentarian Lecture organised by the House of Representatives Press Corps at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

His lecture, titled “Navigating Tax Reform in Nigeria: Insights on President Tinubu’s Policies”, examined the origins, scope, and expected impact of the reforms encapsulated in the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 and related legislation.

He noted that Tinubu inherited a troubled economy riddled with “economic debris,” including excessive deficit financing through Ways and Means, dual exchange rates that enriched a few at the expense of many, and crude oil forward sales tied to foreign loans.

Politics › Re: Tinubu Will Try To Be ‘president For Life’ Like Paul Biya — El-rufai by WizardOfNG: 2:05pm On Sep 21, 2025
When they start scaremongering to this ludicrous extent, then you know the born-to-rule Northern supremacists and hegemonists, the very same people keeping their people in illiteracy and hideous backwardness, are desperate to see the back of Jagaban.

Meaning he is leading well for Nigeria and Nigerians and not those who want Nigeria's wealth for themselves, their family and affiliates alone to then throw crumbs at almajiris.

All the scaremongering rhetoric is in vain and has failed already. The Northern-hegemonists are only frustrated and agitated because an independent-minded Southerner is in power and not a Northerner or Southern stooge they can use as boy boy like GEJ or Obi.

Don't mind them. That is why most of them are losers in life others use always as pawns. Politics remains a game of permanent interest for the players themselves.

Followers, like maniacal Obidients, who want to kill themselves following a politicians can go ahead.

Life goes on and political leaders, who will never know an anonymous follower died fighting for them, will keep living well.

Their children will intermarry, they will wine and dine privately despite cursing each other in public. Most importantly , per the owners of Nigeria club they have joined, they will keep creating wealth and success that ensures poverty is defeated in their lineage forever.

If well-educated and well-exposed, observing how a lot of Nigerians think and talk will make you realise they have been brainwashed by weaponized poverty, from decades of misrule, they no longer know how to want or seek development, let alone sacrifice for such, because what they have they desperately wish to hold on to as they don't know better exist they should aspire to.

Indeed and this thread is even because OP, like a lot of Nigerians, has no respect for the position of the law.

What is allowed and legal, plus the choice of the adult concerned alone, i.e the child of MC Oluomo, he pounces on in hope he can use such to demarket and demonize Tinubu.

This OP, does not even care it is the free-will choice of an adult to serve his nation that his father, whoever he is, cannot/should not forcibly influence. He does not care about that so long as he successfully blackmails MC Oluomo and his main target by extension. I.e Tinubu.

That is why many who experience the reality of Nigeria, and are mentally emancipated enough to be pragmatically circumspect, will tell you followers are even worse than leaders and would do far worse if leaders swap places with them.

He is popular yes, he is close to Tinubu yes. But these doesn't make him a goverment official.
You guys are only indulging the OP by providing reply that shows you are arguing according to his flawed premises.

The point , for the absences of doubt, is that even President Tinubu's child can be a member of the US Army because it is perfectly legal and acceptable when certain conditions allow it such as said child holding dual nationality and having freedom to choose as an adult.

Talk less of MC Oluomo, regardless of whether he is a public official or not. The premises of OP's argument was flawed and in the mud from the beginning.

I just don't want Obi , a certified failure, anywhere near the Presidency of Nigeria. Nothing personal. Nigeria and her progress is bigger than all of us.

The problem with most of you is a lack of basic comprehension skills. If you had any comprehension ability, you would notice that tribalism is the crux of the matter. Do you have tribalism in the UK? So why on earth would you read my post and respond with the UK? Every police formation in the UK reports to a police chief constable in London, whether it's the Metropolitan Police Service (London), Greater Manchester Police, or West Midlands Police. All of them report to London, the same way your state commands report to Abuja.
Its not just about counting vehicles in London after leaving your sense in Nigeria, UK practice a type of centralized police structure, like Nigeria.
Accusing others of "lack of comprehension when you cannot appreciate how intellectually deficient and pedestrian your argument is.

The very reason the NPF is near useless is actually tribalism and lack of homogenous connection that prevents many doing their job well.

Regional autonomy would effectively make regional forces a congregation of people with homogeneity of ideas about crime, it's prevention and punishment.

No, the UK police force is not centralised like Nigeria. It is arranged regionally and by Counties as I stated already.

See image below to note each force, arranged into Counties and regions, is independent so I don't know where you get your ignorant claim from because it seems you are the one counting red buses in the UK assuming you have visited let alone lived there.

Yes Britain does have racism. Difference is that it is a nation with an overarching homogeneity all who live there either conform with or be taken down by it.

Unlike Nigeria where the South does not agree with peace talk and amnesty for serial killers and rapist bandits whereas it is standard practice in the North.

Only recently, Gumi was warning our armed forces not to "provoke" bandits after peace talk. Where do you see that dystopian lunacy in the Southern part of Nigeria? I talk about the UK etal as examples we should emulate if we ever want to get it right.

Those who will be recruited into the NPF need to be 100% committed to the Nigerian standard provision for fighting crime in any region as is the case worldwide.

Yet we know the reality only you head-in-the-ground crew are ignorant of to the extent you will never understand it is under regional police forces Nigeria can have the bolded. Keep fooling yourself.

People rather go to Dubai and Paris than go to Obudu cattle ranch!

Why do they do it? They are emulating your Banza leaders!
Your addendum, a clear attempt to save face over your insincere gaslighting of PBAT, still makes no sense.

Lack of patronage is on Nigerians and not leaders. Lack of maintenance is obviously on Nigerians too because profit from guest should pay for wages of workers and maintenance. Unless the State want to be paying upkeep for a resort Nigerians will not patronise.

As I said to your co-travellers above, it is not on leaders to lead grown men and women ,by example, per the need for them to utilise leisure spots in a nation to improve their health and mental well-being. That is on every sensible adult who is supposed to value such of their own free will.

Adults should themselves understand the need for relaxation, of various types ,as part of a healthy work/play balance. It is not something Tinubu is obligated to teach any adult.

Nigerian's totally lack interest in leisure and relaxation as the rest of the world knows it. It was in the days of our parents, up to the year 2000 at most, that individuals and families made effort to visit Nigerian leisure spots.

Such now holds no interest for the average adult, especially this aged 18 to 50, and this is not something even Jesus can inculcate in adult Nigerians let alone Tinubu. You that is even talking, have you visited Obudu, Olumo Rock, Osogbo grove, Badagry slave castle etc, etc, etc?

What most Nigerians consider relaxation today is visit overcrowded beach to smoke, drink and 'pull'. Or nightclubs and bars. Even cheap hotels with cheap olosho na " nice relaxation" lol. Open a Museum or centre of culture and watch it die while your investment will vanish overnight.

Only your sort and that misguide Mbanda chap will be blaming Tinubu for what Nigerians, to include families, lack as natural and innate culture today. Shows how dishonest you are.

It is you and OP who want to use anything , however senseless, to attack Tinubu.

Ask those who know the UK here whether MPs, let alone the Prime Minister, take their holiday breaks at British resorts like Butlins.

No they do not. They go to the South of France, Italy, Greece, USA etal.

The central point all sophisticated, exposed and hardworking people would understand is that people do not wish to go on holiday where they live and work.

They want to see other culture and have other experiences that will not remind them of home or their work for the length of their holiday.

Yet I would not expect bitter and frustrated folks like the OP to appreciate this crucial concept that is the independent right of every adult including leaders of nations.

Next , perhaps you will demand Tinubu go and drink beer at Peter Obi's beer factory to encourage Nigerians to drink more beer.

I did. Don't make assumptions. In fact from watching how Buhari and his cabal were moving, I stated on this same forum, in 2022, it was the fear of monumental and never-before-seen level of corruption that would be exposed after Buhari left office that was the main reason the Buhari cabal were desperate PBAT did not become President.

They wanted a stooge who would cover their monumental looting of Nigeria. No one they did not consider from Jonathan to Lawan, our former SP, to the extent Emefiele, aware of the desperation of the Buhari cabal, even nursed plans to run for the Presidency. Unfortunately for them, PBAT was too well-liked and well-supported by many folks of influence to fail.

After Tinubu became President, we have indeed seen the monumental level of corruption typified by how Emefiele owned an Abuja Estate with over 700 Units, plus many, many other assets and with the money he stole reputed to be in billions of dollars.

We can imagine what other 'inner crew' members of the gang looted.

To then attempt linking PBAT to the direct and economically damaging action Buhari and his cabal took, as many Nairalanders try to do here daily, is the heights of lacking principles, uprightness and fundamental sense of fairness.

Especially as we were all alive to witness how Tinubu was ostracise and frozen out of the Buhari Government to then be treated as an enemy of the regime,

One thing amusing about a lot of Nigerians, explaining why they fail, is that they can never admit they made a mistake or got it wrong.

Admitting to getting it wrong, ironically, is what almost all successful people attribute for their ability to then get it right in future to resounding success.

The most successful people admit that remaining open to acknowledging and accepting they can get things wrong makes engagement with others a productive two-way process, always, that can be a powerful facilitator of personal and business success.

We all grows better at solutions provision, for ourselves and others, hosting the capacity to admit we are wrong so that we learn right from others.

Below is the response I gave to a poster who made same point you did.
