Gerhards:Grammar is no proof of wisdom or even intellect. Content is and you don't get the content of my talk. It isn't the Nigerian Government celebrating them. Certainly not the Tinubu-led FG that would not want this for Nigeria if it had it's way. Nor Southern Governors I am sure are silently aghast and watching with displeasure. Whether you know it or not, Southerners did well exposing the hypocrisy of the North over the Katsina peace talk with bandits to the extent the Katsina Government had to issue a statement saying it was "community leaders" who brokered the deal with the bandit and not the State government thus dissociation the office of the Governor with the so called peace talk. What many have not thought about is the fact that the North, to include their cultural and religious leaders, is saying to the rest of us, by always negotiating with bandits, that we should butt out and accept that they have effectively created a nation with two separate penal codes. One for them another for the rest of Nigeria. We also saw Gumi brazenly warn our armed forces not to "provoke" bandits after the so called peace talk yet bandits are still attacking Army bases and killing soldiers relentlessly. The substantive point is that Southerners should be wise and agitate for the right things in the right way. Especially Igbos..This is not a victim lamentation or gra gra issue. It is one needing clear-eyed and steely pragmatism to allow discernment of the way out. Conventional fight will not end this. No need to say more than that because some issues are not for public consumption. Good luck to you and others who cannot see what is most crucial and central to all this. |
Omoawoke:Being celebrated by who? Certainly not Southerners or Middle Beltans who are their biggest victims. Even sensible and moderate Northerners are crestfallen for sure. |
gidgiddy:It's okay to dream. Eventually you must wake up to face reality though. 😂 |
floss:Lol. 💯% correct. Worthless hungry vlogger click bait. |
gidgiddy:I can't help you. |
Putindbutt:He won't be allowed to anyway. Whatever political purpose anyone had planned to use Kanu for is now dead and buried. This is because the Ekpa sentencing in Finland has forced the hand of the FG that must now be seen to be serious prosecuting a robust case against Kanu, founder and mastermind of IPOB, since the lowly underling of Kanu, I.e Ekpa, was found guilty and jailed in Finland. Best that will happen is Kanu, after what is looking like 100% assured guilty verdict, may be released in a few years time taking account of time served in custody. |
Orlandoo:What narrative is being twisted exactly? How does the topic, complete fake news as I showed, lend itself to any twisting of Narrative? |
gidgiddy:The wider issue is of income matching expenses. That is very large school fees being paid for one child suggesting Sowore and his spouse have considerable income..$163,815 per annum is a hefty sum. |
aribisala0:I never said Wike should not be investigated. I only made it clear I am not personally invested in making claims indicting or exonerating him. Those who have the relevant information can push forward with what they have. I think the situation now is that Sowore's petition against Wike awaits response. We can be gracious enough to accept the response gained will determine what happens next. |
aribisala0:When I say sides, I mean pro and anti the ruling government. My permanent interest is progressive and solutions-driven leadership of Nigeria. To that end I am not concerned about the personal business of any Nigerian leader to then be subjected to the bolded in your post Support for Wike's work as FCT Minister does not extend to me joining a "side" to petition anyone for verification of his innocence over allegation of illegal property ownership. When things move beyond what leaders are doing, related to their core brief of finding solutions for the problems that ails Nigerians, count me out. I have no "side" when it comes to blind defence or exoneration of leaders over allegations no sensible person can call 100%. Progressive political observers and commentators are never groupies. |
aribisala0:Quite right. Always important to note all sides engage in mischief-making and dissemination of fake news in the attempt to control and warp narratives. |
aribisala0:You are right and Seunmsg addendum post has confirmed that. Sowore’s asset declaration of said property in 2022 supercedes my conversation here and renders them void/superfluous in relation to the matter. |
seunmsg:If that is the case, then my apologies for my assumption the claim of original article is correct. As simple as that. |
Sheuns:You're just clutching at straws. I don't expect anything else from you because the bolded is pure hogwash and a poor cop-out attempt to save face. Best to not go all out for any politicians in defence of their name/reputation. Happy as I am with Wike's performance as FCT Minister, try and see if I have commented , either way, on any of the claims of properties he allegedly bought in the USA. I am not that naive and have no vested interest in any politician beyond the performance I want from them so that my own living experience of Nigeria can be better and more satisfying. |
Sheuns:Oha, carry your mischief go. I did not even read beyond the bolded. Is he listed as an owner of the property or not? Simple yes or no will do because being any reasonably intelligent person will know that being joint owner is not the issue here. |
aribisala0:He is mentioned as an owner of the property. Cash or mortgage, does not matter. Mortgage could be near total payment completion with substantial equity. We don't know and cannot speculate. Opaque focusing on mode of payment. Several factors come into play that can easily be resolved by admission of owning said property at earliest opportunity to do so. Worth of property at time of declaring it an asset is important because the property can be sold in that tax year. A mortgage property worth 600k USD , with 20k dollars of home loan to clear, would still have a Conservative value of 550k USD in favour of owner of property and counting as an asset because it can be sold, used to draw down loans, pledged as collateral etc, etc. As a real and relevant example, I have two UK properties on a mortgages and one fully paid off. I declare all of them, including taht under joint ownership with a spouse, when completing different forms to ascertain my assets and liabilities. I would imagine this would be even a more serious requirement for a Nigerian Presidential candidate. Meaning Sowore should simply declare the property as an asset. I have personally not said anything about Wike's property assets because it is a situation I believe wise folks should comment on when clarity is determined. The mention of South Africa is valid. If some Nigerians support what appears clearly wrong, because of political partisanship then, in an age where online discusssion feature in the narrative, our detractors can claim Nigerians are unprincipled and have a casual fondness for supporting criminality from.their own and when it suits them. You won't find me robuslty defending Wike over any ongoing USA property ownership ssues because I simply cannot see enough to comment either way. For that reason, I offer no comment over the matter.
|
SeeWahala:Lol. Did he contest to be President of Nigeria or not which then require truthful declaration of assets to appropriate authority? Yes or No? If yes, given that is the only correct answer, why did he exclude a high value property asset he owns in the US? I think it is crystal clear, from the conduct of folksike you, that Nigeria's issue is not redtricted to a problem of leadership alone. In a buildup to the 2023 general elections, Daily Trust reported Sowore’s asset declaration to INEC in which he stated ownership of a SINGLE PROPERTY valued at ₦5 million and a 2008 Toyota Camry. |
Sheuns:Lol. When South Africans and other insist most Nigerians are criminal in nature, you lot lend credence to that claim with your arguments making excuses for what is outrightly wrong. Did you read article at all? Pay attention to the bolded and then comment. I think it is crystal clear Nigeria's issue is not a problem of leadership alone. In a buildup to the 2023 general elections, Daily Trust reported Sowore’s asset declaration to INEC in which he stated ownership of a SINGLE PROPERTY valued at ₦5 million and a 2008 Toyota Camry. |
Orlandoo:Lol. Listen to yourself . "Stick to the topic". A topic that is predicated on a blatantly desperate lie, designed to con Nigerians, and nothing to do with Tinubu at all. You are so desperate for one outcome alone you want to muzzle voices of restraint and common sense. Please when is the next fake reportage due? I.e the one that will blame a Tinubu "lie" for the death of Charlie Kirk or Wike's "corruption" for Ghana's high inflation? |
helinues:You will do well in life. Your suspicion over how some, because of vested interest and nefarious agendas, are conveniently seeking to pin this development on Nigeria and Tinubu , considering several African Countries, are affected, is spot on. Below is the reason for the cancellation that I predicted years ago when I stated that dwindling resources of nations, post coving 19 socio-economic trauma, will leade to increased protectionism and anti-immigration sentiments in many developed nations of the world. My advice then was for Nigerians and Africans to work to fix their nation and continent rather than continue believing they will always be able to flee overseas because, predictably, the developed nations, for purposes of self-preservation, will begin to initiate formal policies and strategies to turn away immigrants. Nations of the world are moving over major and existentialist issues. In backwards Nigeria, many wake thinking of fake reportsge and mischievous manipulation of news to use maligning the President to shore up their ethno-religious bigotry. Whereas our problems are much more serious than Nigerians adults understand. Imagine how wicked some Nigerians are. If ignorant folks from Ghana and other African nations involved in this cancelled exchange programme begin blaming Nigerians, because of this fake news they cannot investigate as I quickly did, then is it not obvious why some of us dislike those so desperately hateful they would gaslight their own nation to cause trouble and disaffection for the PBAT government? Credit: Al Jazeera. https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2025/9/25/japan-cuts-africa-exchange-programme-amid-fake-immigration-claims?utm_source=chatgpt.com Japan cancelled the “Africa Hometown” Initiative—a planned people‑to‑people exchange between four Japanese municipalities and four African countries (Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Mozambique)—chiefly because of public backlash in Japan driven by misinformation about the project, especially mistaken beliefs that it would pave the way for mass immigration.

isArray:More or less. Blockage of gutters and drainage channels remain a major issue not helping matters at all. |
kettykin:@ DatNiggaDaz You won't berate the chap above, old enough to know better, waxing biblical and insinuating Igbo "treasures" will be "corrupted" or "consumed" in Lagos. Yet when Yorubas (the main victim of Igbos persecution complex, paranoia and bitterness) speak to defend themselves from ungracious, outlandish and character-damaging accusations you wil begin hyperventilating. If even a few of you are fair you'd see the point I made from the very start and those responsible for always causing friction. Crystal clear Lagos follows the law to the letter. Yet one ethnic group alone feigns innocence always to accuse the State of "targeting" them unjustly every single time this demolition issue arises.. If any of you have a reasonable bone in you then you'd have enough decency to note why Yorubas are gradually becoming fed up of your gaslighting and demonization antics. |
cyberbro:You're the one who has comprehension challenges. Learn to think and talk like an adult. Even probability in statistics, i.e the likelihood of an event occurring, should be quantifiable. Not virtually impossible, and thus not worth mentioning, as the scenario you stated. |
cyberbro:You're being clever by half. Try that with others. Not me. Point, again, being that you are citing a scenario that is not possible in Lagos today. You should know that. Lagos cannot arbitrarily demolish property that are not in violation because the State is exemplarily law-abiding in all it's conduct and goes the extra mile to get court orders for all it does. A reasonable adult should no cite impractical scenarios because doing such is mischievous. |
Ttalk:Well-said Sir. Same point I made initially yet he was hyperventilating per how the guilty run around when no one is chasing them. Did we not go through this recently when one of their kinsman, a lawyer, insisted Tokunbo Wahab was acting illegally demolishing properties in Lekki that had valid document with the insinuation, as is same for all of them, that Wahab was targeting Igbo properties on purpose. Wahab challenged same guy to present valid documents since he insisted they existed. The chap said he would. Deadline Wahab gave elapsed and no one heard from the chap again. That is how they roll. Quick to malign and demonize the character of others out of paranoia and bitterness. Lagos has no power to act dictatorially because valid documents will defeat any illegal action of Lagos in Court so why will the state engage in such? Yet they alone, of the many ethnic group in Lagos, will claim their property worth "billions" is being demolished illegally. Did their political God not even do same recently in Ikeja claiming the country was sliding into lawlessness over a matter with a valid judgement in a competent Nigerian court? Tiring bro |
DatNiggaDaz:I've replied you but so called "bot ban" took it out yet your emotional tirade above was allowed to remain. Read the screenshot. You people are now protected species here courtesy of some partisan moderating. Anyway, make all the noise you want. Sane people understand the central point and know those always crying wolf unfairly and deceitfully against LASG and Tokunboh Wahab etal. Even your political messiah too is guilty as charged.
|
georgeakins:Absolutely. Historical records are there for sane and objective people to refer to per Obi's leadership of Anambra as Governor of the State for 8 years. Some people can continue with their selective amnesia but the fact is that many of us have no issues with our memory or being able to do basic research to note the monumental failure Obi was. |
Goldrosewine:Things are falling apart because illegal structures are being demolished? In which nation of the world will illegal structures not be demolished once it is established said structure had no valid building approval? In the UK for example, you will be instructed to demolish an extension to your own house if you deviate from original building approval talk less of constructing a structure with fake building approval or even none at all which I know Nigerians are brazen enough to do. Nigerians need to stop victim-pretence over every development. Especially when wrongdoers are quick to cite 'victimisation' over repercussions of their own irresponsible and lawless conduct. |
cyberbro:Why do some of you talk like this? Is Lagos a jungle for the bolded in your post to be the norm? In this day and age, it is easy to establish building approval validity. We are not in 1826 bro. Many Nigerians are casually and wantonly dishonest. They are shady and love cutting corners. That's the real issue. Period. |
Gerhards:Lol. It seems you have problems understanding what others write. My point is that if, according to the childish poster I responded to, "100000% is that SW will NEVER recover after TINUBU" then which region, aside SS and perhaps North Central, is positioned to go from strenght to strenght after Tinubu leaves? His own SE now bogged down in crime and insecurity plus unproductive and stagnant economy contributing next to nothing towards Nigeria's economic growth and development to the extent people are fleeing ala Igbo to the SW and other region like SS in their thousands daily in search of better lives? You need to grow up also and face reality. Wishing bad on the region of others does not erase the reality or invaluable worth of that region, i.e the SW, to Nigeria which is far more than I can say about his native SE region. Maybe your pal should go and talk to Atiku who recognises the point above to the extent he is now pledging his cabinet will be full of Yorubas. Lol. Anyway, you lot don't do reality so continue with your self-delusion. Just know that any people/land God has blessed, no man can curse. 😎 |
dododawa1:Plain and simple. Lol. |
