.... not an indictment on Atiku's leadership and ability to hold his ranks

Mynd44, With all due respect, attributing Okowa’s defection to a failure of Atiku’s leadership is both intellectually lazy and politically dishonest. Let’s not pretend we don’t understand how Nigerian politics works especially under this calamitous and morálly bankrupt Tinubu administration.

Okowa was arrested by the EFCC on November 4, 2024, in connection with the alleged diversion of over ₦1.3 trillion in oil derivation funds during his tenure as Delta State governor from 2015 to 2023. He was also linked to an additional ₦40 billion LNG fund scandal. Fast forward a few months: Okowa defects to the APC, and surprise the once-vigorous corruption probe goes silent and trashed in a can

So let’s call this what it is: not a political indictment of Atiku, but a classic case of corruption laundering via defection a phenomenon that has become a trademark of the Tinubu APC-led government. Under Tinubu’s watch, the EFCC has become a revolving door for selective justice, where alleged looters find immunity through party loyalty.

If anything, Okowa’s defection is a damning reflection on theTinubu and APC’s credibility, not Atiku’s. After all, when a man facing fraud allegations worth trillions suddenly finds shelter in your party, it's not strength, it’s moral bankruptcy.
Hogwash. Majority of those affiliated with Atiku's ADC are some of the most corrupt named in Nigeria to include the likes of Malami, Hadi Sirika, Babachir Lawal, Dino Melaye etal.

ADC you support is a shameless congregation of shameless looters so, kindly spare us the hypocrisy and sanctimonious talk.

Nobody cares about Gumi's opinion, the two ministers of Defense are Northerners and Muslims. They have their full cooperation.
Regardless of the bolded, Gumi should not be free to make these subtle threats he would not be able to in nations with homogenous societies and law/rules.

We are nowhere near where we need to be as a nation if all citizens are not equal meaning some cannot be cautioned against making incendiary, divisive and unacceptable claims publicly.

Gumi is a fool. It is very normal for spy agencies to have operations in every other country. There are active CIA cells in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt. The British MI6 too have cells of operation in Nigeria. Mossad will be slacking not to have operations in Nigeria.

Besides Nigeria is the hottest terrorist area of activity in the world right now so every intel agency worth its salt will have men on ground to keep tabs on what the terrorists are doing.
Gumi is not unaware of your point but he ia a fundamentalist who is lowkey threatening a Southern President he believes is too religiously tolerant/liberal.

This is the audacity they operate with whether it is Ndume, El Rufai or Bala Mohammed, from the political angle, seemingly issuing veiled threats against PBAT or clerics in the North openly declaring Remi Tinubu should be killed.

What is shown below is not clear overstepping of boundaries for someone who is not an official member of Nigeria's intelligence network?

He speaks authoritatively of Tinubu being "adivised" to "support the partnership".

If a Southerner made similar claims against Buhari they would have being arrested and tasked to substantiate their allegation against the Presidency.

Warning a sitting President issuing "direct caution" just shows the divided South dont see what they need to.

He warned that allowing Mossad to establish any kind of influence in Nigeria amounts to inviting danger into the nation’s security system.

He issued a direct caution to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that whoever advised him to support the partnership had misled him.
Politics › Re: Gumi Raises Alarm Over Secret Mossad Operations In Nigeria, Cautions Tinubu by WizardOfNG: 8:42am On Aug 19, 2025
Gumi is a divisive character who deliberately makes wild, unacceptable and distastful claims all the time.

The simple truth is that Nigerian leaders and influential voices, whether religious/cultural or political, can be seperated into two simple categories in terms of their capacity to be part of the solutions we need as a nation.

I.e good or bad. Gumi is bad. Very bad. He makes it crystal clear he does not see Christians or non-Northerner at all. Yet he is indulged by the entire Nigeria.

It is a measure of the Country we have that every candidate that wants to be President pays Gumi a visit.

This is what Awolowo saw decades ago when he fought for a secession clause to be inserted in our constitution.

He brilliantly realised a people so dangerously divided and disimilar would need a legally-accepted way to part amicably someday rather than be forced to remain together.

We can all now see, with terrorism destroying Nigeria today, that the pragmatic thinking of Awolowo back then was based on his analytical and predictive genius.

The Bye Election has come and gone and winners declared by INEC .

But one thing that stood out to all political watchers is that the supposed coalition party candidates didn’t win any of the contested seats across the states. This has made naysayers to begin to write off the coalition already; declaring that 2027 is already a done deal for Tinubu. But is it?

Should we judge 2027 by results of this bye election? I guess not.

You know why? Because people are rarely interested in these bye elections unlike the general election where there’s usually almost a nationwide lockdown and people are eager to go out and vote.

Or should we expect that this is what 2027 will look like?
APC being everywhere, like MTN, is an election-winning boost for PBAT. Strong showing at this weekends elections and many major defection weekly shows Tinubu will win comfortably in my opinion.

Few years ago, some people wanted into a church in Ogun State in SW, opened fire on the congregation and more than 100 people were killed.

Currently, Mahmuda terrorist group is wreaking havoc in Kwara State which is also Yoruba land.

The most amusing thing is, if you check any thread of the killings in Kwara, none of you Yorubas masturbating on this thread will say anything. Nothing gives you people happiness than hearing bad things happening in Igbo land, and this shows the kind of wicked hearts you lots possess.

Well, while you gloat about the few news of killings in igboland your entire region is getting encircled and over-run. The D-Day is coming
Rubbish talk. My point again is that Yorubas and most other Nigerian ethnic groups confront their own problems.

It is you guys alone obsessed with playing victims of wrongdoing you blame others for whereas you are the biggest and most murderous security threats against yourselves.

How many years of denial did you guys live in claiming "Fulani DSS killing Igbos in Igbo land" till Soludo bravely announced recently that 99% of the killing in Igbo land are committed by Igbos?

This thread, by the quintessential head-in-the-Sand Ostrich Gidgiddy, is a huge joke and embarrassment that once against portrays you Igbos as hypocrites not ready to search for solutions to problems you have caused yourselves.

If it were SW for example in the shoes of the SE, it will be all leaders saying what Soludo is declaring boldly, and not the Anambra Governor and a few others only like Ijelespeak, because we understand the concept of charity beginning at home.

We know it is crucially important for a man to take responsibility for the consquences of his own actions and make amends for such instead of seeking to defect blame towards others.

We will move then to silence and eradicate the Yorubas cause of the problem in Yoruba land before we even have time or inclination to look elsewhere

You people start by fighting and blaming the world for all your woes and then hypocritically ignore the problems at home you created for yourselves.

Again, I am ready for us to embark on a challenge inspecting how many Igbos, according to Gidgiddy, has disappeared under "Nigerian security forces" and the hundred of Igbos that disappeared after entering Awkuzu SARS police Station.

Let's compare the numbers to see if , again, you people are not irresponsibly trying to play the victim card while ignoring the far greater and more serious atrocities you are committing against each other daily in the SE.

Secession, that Ojukwu declared by announcing Biafra, is an act of treason according to the Constitution of Nigeria courtesy of Nnamdi Azikiwe who worked to frustrate and kill Awolowo's effort for the inclusion of a secession clause in our Constitution.

After declaring Biafra, and knowing the repercussions your action will surely attract, since Nigeria has to do what it must to repel treasonous elements, why continue to cry like babies till today and looking to blame others for all the woes you brought upon yourselves?

The endless massacres of igbos by the Nigerian security agencies must be investigated. This has gone on for way too long that igbos all over the world must find ways to say "enough is enough". The killings have become so routine and casual mainly because no one is punished. Essentially, this practice has been normalised. Many have been killed at the endless checkpoints that liter the east. Breadwinners eliminated out of ethnic ha-te for the flimsiest of reasons.

This started during the civil war and has now become the favourite pastime of different security groups dominated by men from the north and the South west. Like I always say, unless igbos sit down and fathom the most ruthless way to push back, these killings will never stop. Igbos must fi-ght to dominate and control not just their own spaces in this country, but their destinies too.

Politics › Nigeria Tops As Singapore’s West Africa Trade Surges 85% To $7.47bn by WizardOfNG(op): 1:42pm On Aug 18, 2025
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/08/nigeria-tops-as-singapores-west-africa-trade-surges-85-to-7-47bn/

Nigeria tops as Singapore’s West Africa trade surges 85% to $7.47bn.
August 18, 2025

Nigeria has emerged as the leader in economic expansion and employment opportunities in Singapore’s deepening trade relationship with West Africa, which has seen an 85 percent rise to $7.47 billion from 2020 to 2024.

A review of the growing collaboration between Singapore and West Africa shows Nigeria emerging as a key contributor.

Analysis of data from the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD) revealed that as of the end of 2023, Singapore’s overall economic presence in Africa comprises more than $20 billion in foreign direct investment. And Nigeria currently stands as one of the leading 10 investment economies in Africa.

Additionally, the Asian nation’s involvement in Nigeria represents an approach that contrasts significantly with conventional foreign investment methods in the region.

Besides just trading goods, Singaporean companies emphasize generating local value and promoting sustainable development.

Enterprise Singapore has greatly assisted Singaporean firms like Tolaram Group and Valency in their operations within the Lagos Free Trade Zone. These firms have set up local factories and processing facilities, especially in Nigeria’s agri-commodities sector, a decision that enhances local industrial capability while promoting jobs and domestic economic strength.

In contrast to traditional investors who typically extract resources for overseas processing, Singaporean backed initiatives are establishing a foundation for inclusive development by ensuring a larger portion of the production value chain stays within Nigeria.

This approach aims to create sustainable jobs, cultivate local skill sets, and enhance domestic markets.

From 2020 to 2024, the exchange of goods between Singapore and Nigeria saw significant variations. It started at $727.2 million in 2020, increased notably to $1,277.3 million in 2021, and then fell to $712.1 million in 2022. The decrease persisted in 2023 with trade dropping to $410.8 million, but bounced back in 2024 to attain $679.1 million.

These numbers indicate the changing character of trade relationships and the developing investment environment between the two nations.

Even with variations in trade volume, Singapore’s dedication to Nigerian markets, especially in areas that promote sustainable development, indicates a long-term strategic outlook. Industry experts indicate that Nigeria’s pivotal position in West Africa’s economy renders it a desirable collaborator for investment strategies aimed at growth.

Singapore’s strategy in Nigeria could establish a standard for how global collaborations can address the host nation’s developmental needs while maintaining profitability.

Jonathan knows that they want to use this campaign to get something from him... He will tell their leadership to count the numbers of people at the meeting and send something to them..

This is one of the reasons I love our people from the North, they are very good in politics and they know when and how to bend the knee when the need arises. Bro, they are even jokers. Those behind this GEJ noise don’t want GEJ contesting to be President PDP. They want him to divide Southern and Middle belt vote so Atiku can win.

To them, the more strong Southern candidates splitting APC votes, in Obi and GEJ etal, the easier for Atiku to win.

ADC is Atiku's vehicle. Meaning the thinkinf is GEJ to run as PDP candidate. Yet, tne thing many are not taking into consideration is that PDP is no longer a Fulani-dominated Party.

What PDP primaries, even if GEJ agree to be a pawn in the nefarious game od born-to-rule Northern supremacists and hegemonists , can Jonathan win with Wike now controller of the Party with the might and resources of the Presidency behind him?

GEJ will become the 'Trump' of Africa and he will perform because he is more experienced in governance than baba Tinubu having seen victory then defeat then victory again and governance from inside and outside of office.
