erico2k2:Make e even purple for dem sef. Marketers, scamming masters of sharp practices, have been the cause of many highly punitive and devastating fuel shortages Nigerian individuals and business have endured over the years. These fuel scarcity episodes, uncommon in civilised clines, would turn Nigerians into animals fighting and scrambling at filling stations. Meanwhile Marketers, hoarding to profit when they hear advance news of price movement, sat in AC offices dreaming about what colour Lamborghini to buy with their incoming 'windfall'. Majority of Marketers are evil, unpatriotic and heartless profiteers in my opinion. Let them, hopefully, go and find other productive and nationally-beneficial ways to make money. |
7lives:Well said Baba. I like your closing advice too. 😎 |
ufotunang:If you see the big picture then you will not be speaking from the perspective of what is best for marketers or those who work for them. Marketers are a by-product of fuel subsidy, a gloried scam that is one of the worst any nation in history has ever committed against itself and her people. Fuel subsidy , to begin with, should never have been enacted and sustained if Nigerian leaders, post 1999 and before Tinubu, were interested in doing what is optimally best for the Nigerian economy and people. Marketers, for too many reasons than I can state here, need to go. They, and those who benefit from them, should go and find other businesses and employment to sustain them. What is at stake for the biggest black nation on Earth, of 230 million people, is far more important than what becomes of Marketers and those they employ. |
softsoul22:Indeed. The truth is that Dangote was just the most visionary and best placed to be a pioneer of how Nigeria must reshape her oil sector to so she can take optimal advantage of our crude endowment for the betterment of our economy and the lives of ordinary Nigerian. Previously, is was numerous politico-business cabals and unofficial oligarchs benefitting from our crude endowment through multiple avenues of government-abetted scams. Now, things have changed for the better under PBAT, As long as forward momentum is sustained, there should be no less than five efficient private sector refineries joining Dangote in the next 2 to 8 years. |
osayuwamwen:Nothing wrong with that if they are mechanically sound and a cost to output analysis has been done to ensure they will be profitable assets for their estimated working lifespan. |
Ijoba85:Well-said bro. I salute. You grasp the full picture which is very simple. A fully Government supported/empowered, totally accessible and optimally competitive private sector, unimpeded by greedy and wicked politico-business cabals who had the backing of past governments in power, can/will transform Nigeria immensely and quickly. That is the simple but optimally effective solution, even though many cannot see it as you have, Tinubu is chasing and achieving quietly. |
ambale:Not possible because because the monopoly Dangote and some may have enjoyed in the past will be difficult to experience again. This is due to the precedent -setting policies of the PBAT Government to allow free market liberalism, full private sector freedom, institutional integrity, sincere decentralisation of power/and processes etal to control and define the Nigerian economy. Unless we slide back into an oligarchic dictatorship, masquerading as a democracy, as obtains under Putin's Russia, then we are past the days of any individual or region having total and monopolist stranglehold on markets and profitable ventures in Nigerian. |
Pharaoh4rin:Explain, coherently and factually , avoiding conspiracy theories or conjectures, how Dangote can do that when other private refineries, in a deregulated downstream sector, are coming on board. Dangote can only achieve the bolded in your post if abetted by a Government in power which is not the case now and is unlikely to be the case in future considering all interested private sector players, with requisite capacity, can now get approval to build and operate private refineries. |
bdon123:It was not originally planned for Lagos. The progressive minds of Lagos, that always includes Tinubu, stepped in to provide Dangote with site and all required support to operate. Deregulation of the downstream sector and Fuel subsidy removal , that Tinubu achieved and stuck with, as no President before him could do, helped Dangote immensely also. Under the PBAT Government, licences for private refineries are being granted for consortiums and groups with requisite capacity and without delay, political brinkmanship or cronyism as we would have seen under an OBJ and Atiku presidency, for example, where State assets were sold to friends and affiliates before Yar Adua stepped in. Ditto GEJ government partly responsible for our electricity woes via sales of National DISCOs to his cronies lacking the requisite capacity to run the distribution companies they bought properly. I could go on but the point is that the Tinubu government, though imperfect, is doing a lot right and far better than others before it. Therefore, it is okay for progressive people to give credit where due. |
2special:Not possible even if that is his intention because other ambitious private refinery projects are under way including that of the Abdul Samad Rabiu-led BUA effort in Akwa Ibom and the Dr. Lukman Bolaji-led Gasoline Integrated International refinery in Ogun State shown below. All in all, I love Tinubu's vision and where it is taking Nigeria with decentralisation effort to remove important sectors and processes out of the hands of greedy politico-business cabals and place them in the hands of private sector player who will offer more value to Nigerians as individuals Nigeria, as a nation, gains immensely in terms of considerable growth in wealth and economic health via developments such as the end of petrol importation making way for the laudable emergence of Nigeria as an exporter of the much more profitable refined derivative of crude. It is a potentially great journey Nigeria has embarked on and I pray such is not truncated by those in the group I cited in bold above.
|
columbus007:Indeed. I personally applaud all Dangote is doing in the fuel sector as I believe total cessation of importation of PMS is , for many reasons, best for Nigeria economically. Additionally, other planned private refineries should deliver working refineries quickly to provide competition to Dangote and ensure we become a nation of zero import of PMS and mass exporters of it. Confirming your assertion that Dangote knows how to do business, even the truck he chose, I.e Dongfeng, is a good balance of price and quality.
|
DeLaRue:Well-said. Nigerians are clearly their own greatest enemies. |
oilmatters:I have not actually heard the saying in a long time. Seems some people have gotten the message. |
Those who are aggrieved can go to Court since they feel the action is wrong,. All this 'victim noise' achieves nothing. |
surgical:Lol. Keep consoling yourself with statistics that hold no weight in juxtaposition with the reality of today same as a nine months pregnant woman is nowhere near as strong or as capable as a normal woman without pregnancy. Was Tinubu President and commanding over 20 Governors, with more looking to join, when the statistics your hero collated was in play? Today PBAT is not only only incumbent President but his is perhaps the most strategically intelligent incumbent President since 1999 who is not going anywhere without a fight. As has been stated many times, Tinubu is not GEJ to surrender 4 years out of an agreed 8 years for the south without a fight. Same Tinubu ensured the North enjoyed their full 8 years through Buhari,. He will now feebly allow a few dishonourable Northerners refuse to honour and reciprocate what is a gentleman's agreement keeping Nigeria peaceful and United since it is based on the principle of "one good turn deserves another"? The whole ADC garbage consist of the selfish ambition of one man who thinks it is his birthright to be President, i.e Atiku, and his gang of displaced co-travellers like Malami, Babachir Lawal , Hadi Sirika etal who are mad they have been cut off from the slush fund access to FG money delivers. It is even the sensible heads in the North, at the right time, who will deal with them all on behalf of Tinubu. We will see what your 2023 statistics will means in 2027 since you don't wish to accept things are very different now |
1000angstroms:What lie did he tell? Crystal clear, in the face of factually superior argument, you are like a drowning man clutching at straws buddy. |
shaqhead:Don't mind him. Even Sule Lamido who is a rabid hater of Tinubu and a brazenly open Northern supremacist, stated he cannot leave PDP for a "smaller skin" i.e ADC. Who, especially if in a good place career-wise with promise of better to come, will want to do "abobaku" suicide for a dead body departing the living world? ADC is just a joke I am predicting that infighting in ADC, full of political guerillas and lawless rebels, will implode next year. |
AMINDA:Keep deluding yourself. Do you know how many Governors, Senators etal joined what was a proper, strong and well-planned coalition back then, i.e APC, rather than this ADC gang of desperados and internally displaced politicians with no home, no structure and no members in Nigerian public or political office? You ADC supporters, like the desperados who are the leaders of ADC, only want the brave, resolute and independent-minded Tinubu and the South out of power. You don't mean well for Nigeria or Nigerians. The entire world see ADC parading crooks and leprously ruinous hands like Babachir Lawal, Hadi Sirika, Malami etal and you think sane and influential leaders, whether in political/public office or not, will join the ADC lunacy parading itself as "saviours"? Have Nigerians and the world developed dementia to forget the scam and corruption of Atiku, Babachir Lawal and Hadi Sirika etal? Or Nigerians now smiling under Tunji-Oji will forget how they cried under his predecessor Aregbesola who is now a plliar of ADC? The ADC is an exercise in futility sycophantically flattering the ambition of one very rich moneybag who should be told to leave the stage, I.e Atiku, yet many wish to use to Chop and clean mouth. Good luck to you and your ADC. |
adaxme:Don't mind the disgruntled, displaced and hungry desperados now parading themselves as "saviours" of Nigeria. Na beans to become Governor? Which Sane Governor will give up the bird in their hand to go and chase the two in the bush for the ambition of a born-to-rule Northern supremacist, i.e Atiku, and his fellow desperados that the entire world know are the very same ruinous hands that got Nigeria where she is today? Northern Governors , in particular, will not allow Atiku and his They'd rather work for Tinubu to get a second term of another 4 years so that the North gets it legitimate and undisputed 8 years in 2031 with the amicable rotation system, beneficial to all, intact. If not that ADC supporters are not realistic, does it make sense to expect any Governors sacrifice their career suicidally by joining a dead-on-arrival mission that is full of Atiku plus Malami along with Babachir Lawal and Hadi Sirika etal Nigerians know are the characters who looted Nigeria to a stupor? |
Irony1:Kindly watch the video if you have data. Go to minute 5:42 to save you data. 😎 |
helinues:Pretty sure it is mainly the "developers" who travel to India to "develop" the nation so a ban will likely not bother Nigerians not from the SE lol. |
ORIAYO70:They are the new bride of the dishonorable and desperate Northern born-to-rule supremacists who have gathered in ADC, abi na KFC, ready to use excuses of mischief and lies like "Tinubu Christianising Nigeria" to truncate the 8 years of the South. If the excuse is that Tinubu's performance is not satisfactory, why not back a Southerner to depose him? Were many Southern leaders not disgruntled with Buhari even in his first term? Yet they honorably let the North have their eight years because a deal is a deal with proper and honorable gentlemen. The Southern turncoats you identify are to the desperate, dishonorable and born-to-rule supremacist Northerners, trying to depose Tinubu, what Daniel Kanu and Obi were to the brutal dictator Abacha. It is in the blood to do what we are seeing them.do now. Yet, as usual, it will end in tears and they will end on the infamous side of history again. |
Personally, the formation of ADC is a good thing because it is a congregation ground of desperate, greedy and unprincipled Northerners with no honour and no regard for Southerners. Once identified, it will be easier for ambitious and progressive Southerners to know how to deal with them moving into the future. What is sure is that no honorable, equitable and principled Northerner will join the desperate ADC lynch mob ready to set Nigeria on fire with incendiary lies that Tinubu is "christianising" Nigeria or deliberate misinformation PBAT is concentrating infrastructural progress in the South only. Etc, etc, etc. They even claimed through Sule Lamido, the ultimate Northern born-to-rule supremacist, Tinubu was a villain of the Abiola Presdidency saga and NADECO struggle rather than the pivotal and bonafide hero of that period the world acclaim him to be till today. We even now told , regarding history we all witnessed, Tinubu did not want Buhari to win in 2015. What a joke. If Tinubu was not crucial to Buhari's win in 2015, when the former General cleared 5 out of 6 SW States whereas he had never won a single SW state in three previous attempt, then who are those who made Buhari President in 2015? Malami, Babachir Lawal, Hadi Sirika or Mamam Daura? Compared to Tinubu who joined APC with several ACN SW Governor and many legislators? For sure these people are truly desperate, dishonorable, disdainful of the South and wicked. All that the Northerners in ADC are doing is akin to political terrorism. For sure wise and honorable Northerners will distance themselves from the ADC. |
Tochi3:Lol. Poor comprehension is your issue not mine. I did not say Owobokiri mentioned Dangote or the North. Again, the contextual point that flies above your head is that the bigoted Owobokiri, who does not appreciate that others have immense talent and bring value to the table also, indicated Igbos "saved" Nigeria. My nuanced point is that if he can ridiculously claim Igbos "saved" Nigeria over a football match, I.e a game of sports, then what should Northerners say , if they are like you guys, considerating the Dangote refinery helped to secure the saving trust of an economic reform crucial to the rebirth of Nigeria? |
omenka:Kai !!! This is too much !! These guys are something else. The bolded in your post is so true because their hatred of the "Zoo" na follow come from the womb. He was so eager announcing the failure of Nigeria to the world he even engaged in preliminary fake news editing so he can be first to announce , had Nigeria lost, that the Yoruba and Tinubu "Zoo" had falling to "mighty Morroco". |
Dalohad:Shame Obi's "good luck" could not benefit Anambra, that he led for 8 years as Governor, to save those young men killed and dumped in Anambra Rivers under his watch.
|
Tochi3:The mention of Dangote and the North is used to prove a contextual point which is that Dangote can be credited with single-handedly assisting Tinubu's aggressive 'day one' fuel subsidy removal initiative to succeed and endure. Dangote refinery, one man's extraordinary visions and innovative zeal, helped to stave off what may have become crippling and debilitatingly elongated period of protest and fights capable of grounding Nigeria totally if subsidy removal had been accompanied by prolonged fuel (PMS) scarcity. What would you and yours be saying today, that Northerners have graciously refrained from perpetually blackmailing Nigeria with, if Dangote is Igbo considering his spectacular and nationally-beneficial Ibeju Lekki Refinery achievement? |
Putindbutt:Lol. His inability to even note the existence of Yoruba Rasheedat Ajibade, let alone credit her with contributing to the victory of the Falcons, as the world recognised by giving player of the tournament award, shows how pathetic, self-destructively and ignorantly supremacist, like Hitler, some people are. Hitler too, an Aryan supremacist, was embarrassed by how American Jesse Owen, a black man, won major medals to embarrass Hitler who had planned the 1936 Olympics to be a show of Aryan supremacy till Owen totally dismantled and embarrassed his vile ignorance. Shame we still have some Nigerians emptily supremacist in the mould of Hitler, today. Tragic. Below is the story of a pivotal event in history, 1936 precisely, those desirous of knowledge should read about the vileness of supremacist pontificating a Nigerian ethnic group is still guilty of in 2025 and will be likely still be guilty of in 3035. https://www.peoplesworld.org/article/daily-worker-1936-black-athletes-embarrass-hitler-at-nazi-olympics/
