AMINDA:Lol. You mean your dishonorable and desperate Messiah Atiku? Let us see if he will ever be President since you think only his selfish and dishonorable ambition matters and not what is in the best interest of our nation and all Nigerians. |
esnbrutality:Seek knowledge to educate yourself. What is dissolution if not regional autonomy? Perhaps you forget (and I have reminded you below) It was your grandpa Azikiwe that made it an act of treason for any region to try and secede. Meaning that sensible, sincere, law-abiding and pragmatically intelligent Nigerians appreciate that regional autonomy is legally the closest Nigerians can get to "dissolution". The sort of dissolution you guys always advocate for insincerely can only arrive via a change to our constitution that Azikiwe had set the negative precedence for decades ago. See below. They brainwash you guys so well from infancy you do not even know your forebears caused the major problems of Nigeria you are now ascribing to Yorubas, Hausa, Fulanis etal.

Bottom line is that evolution of minds has now brought us to this stage where many more Nigerians, daily, are realising that 'one Nigeria' forced unity is the reason Nigeria is not working. Our glaring and irreconcilable differences could become a strength if we recognise them as such and adopt the best option possible which is to retain the massive geographical and population advantages of Nigeria, that benefits us all mutually, while allowing Nigerians with homogeneity of socio-economic ideas the full autonomy to lead themselves at regional level. The best example I can give of this is the EU. Many nations with totally different identities and core socio-economic belief came together to take advantage of the "strength in numbers" principle with sacrificing total control to a centrist governance ideology trying to Force Britons, in Britain, live live Germans or French folks. Nations of the EU had the pragmatic maturity to unite and share the numerous and highy beneficial advantages of an expanded European Nation bloc yet each member nation retained defining autonomy over their own socio-economic direction and core identity. It is the model we should pursue instead of an unworkable balkanisation of Nigeria that create numerous small and unsustainable Nations similar with how recently created States of Nigeria struggling to survive today because they were never viable to begin with and only became reality because of ego and sentiments rather than commonsense. What is depicted in the second image below, suggested by all Yoruba Government in 2021, is the optimal model of separation all Nigerians should agitate for if sensible, progressive-minded and serious about self-determination and self-paced socio-economic success, at regional level, that 'One Nigeria' cannot impede ever again. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union

Exousiang01:Good post. Nigerians can be irritating people because of how they are consumed by emotions, sentiments , bigotry and prejudice against others. If the President has empowered Governors and Local Government leaders to do more, as we have all seen him do, then why still hold Mr.President responsible for the failures seen at State and local Government level? Why do Nigerians, if citizens focused on socio-economic progress above everything else, not aggresivley face the task of demanding their leaders at State and local givernment level do better, and much more, instead of attacking the President as if he leads all level or Nigerian governance? I personally fear that Nigeria may never develop as she should because majority of Nigerians are too ignorant, bigoted and hateful to do their civic duty of getting optimal performance from leaders through the sincere effort to understand the problem and then direct the request for solutions toward the right leaders charged with finding those solutions. If Zamfara Governor is getting five times more federal allocation than he did four years ago, then what kind of self-destructive madness would lead Zamfara folks to be cursing and attacking Tinubu daily rather than tackling their Governor? |
MadamExcellency:The Governors are getting a great deal more money because of fuel subsidy removal. Considerably more than they were receiving as allocation under Buhari . Which reasonable person will fault the call asking them to do more? Does charity not begin at home considering we all live in States and local Government of Nigeria? Why so keen to absolve Governors and other leaders of blame to attack the President alone? Do other leaders, at all levels, not have to deliver leadership efficacy also with ordinary Nigerians then responsible and effectively holding them to account to do so? What is wrong with Tinubu's efforts to massively and efficiently fund State Governors and local Government leaders, as has not been seen before, so that ordinary Nigerians like you benefit? After the President has done that, Does he not have the right to charge States and Local Government leaders, different and independently seperate tiers of governance to the Federal Government he head , to do more? You too should hold your Governors and local government chairmen to account better so that progress is achieved through leaders and followers playing their part meritoriously as obtains worldwide. Issues should not be about prejudical, bigoted and blind hatred of the President to the extent of losing sight of what is most important for Nigeria and Nigerians. |
casualobserver:Good point. Is it not now crystal clear, going by the ignorant arguments of some here, that the lawless society we have today is courtesy of leaders and followers whereas ordinary Nigerians view themselves as blameless while pointing fingers at leaders alone. As you point out some are not even bothered Lie-Tasha has broken many rules for which she deserves punishment as affirmed by the Court. All they know is "she be our person and we must support am". We are going nowhere in Nigeria because of the average Nigerian and not leaders alone. |
press9jatv:Bro, you remember I told yyou so? I said Tinubu will not accept Adeleke's attempt to defect to APC when he knows the failed Governor is already a dead man walking. Tinubu is from Osun. He cannot deliberately abet an Adeleke horrible second term on his own State of Origin even for the purpose of remaining in power beyond 2027. More so when the dancing alaye has underperformed horribly meaning he is a goner. Tinubu, the master strategist, will seek to regain Osun under his own APC candidate who will win the 2026 Osun Gubernatorial election and, most importantly, will get Osun back on track. |
seanfer:100% correct. The Court's ruling was advisory. In fact, their involvement even shows how our judicial system is compromised, corrupt, for sale to the highest bidder and still in the stone age compared to others. In the UK or USA for example, it is virtually impossible for any MP or Senator to seek the involvement of the law Courts, or even for the law Courts to accept such invitation to interfere in matters beyond their purview , over the suspension of an MP or Senator for misconduct. MPs and Senators, in the UK and USA respectively, understand they must defer to the ruling of their respective disciplinary Committee. The Courts too, in those nations, know to stay out of the affair of certain arms of governance that have discretionary powers over their own affairs because of the sacrosanct principles of separation of powers. Why become an MP or Senator if you do not wish to submit yourself to disciplinary rule of the committees charged with maintaining discipline and order in those government institutions? Nigerians are prone to being emotional and lawless because they allow biased and prejudiced outlook prevent them seeing what is in the greater interest of Nigeria. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5y7zqdwzqyo.amp

franugo:Educating yourself does not end when you leave your last academy of study. Be it Primary School or University. The NASS has it's own in-house disciplinary rules no law Court can overule or rescind. The judgement Lie-Tasha recieved is not enforceable in law because it is advisory only and based on the Court's interpretation that her sanction was too harsh. Nonetheless, it is still the exclusive right of the NASS disciplinary Committee to reinstate her early or insist she must serve her punishment as stipulated. Lie-Tasha, a shamelessly attention-seeking and glorified female agbero, is manipulating everyone/everything from our judicial institution to even gullible folks like you. So that it is crystal clear to you the Senate can suspend Lie-Tasha regardless of what any Court thinks, see below and pay attention to the section that says "The Senate regulates its own proceedings and can suspend a senator for violating its rules or for misconduct".Also, see the section under Court Precedents, shown below, to note the Court acknowledges the supreme power of the NASS to suspend erring legislator. All that the Court can do, is insist on due process and fair hearing which has been complied with in the case of Lie-Tasha. Finally, remember that being prejudiced and having a biased mind, rather than trying to remain objective always, is the beginning of getting things horribly wrong. The courts have also acknowledged the Senate's power to suspend, but they have also emphasized the importance of due process and fair hearing.

frankson1:Lol. True. Whatever information you pour into them drains out of their leaking and porous brains instantly.😄😅 |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:So you think it is jobless jokers like Aisha Yesufu and co who will be in company of Natasha if indeed the court order is expressly enforceable rather than Femi Falana plus many attention-seekers and enemies of the APC , who bought law degrees, like Deju Adeyanju, Rotimi Amaechi , Dino Melaye etal? The NASS has it's own in-house disciplinary rule no law Court can annul or interfere with. Natasha's punishment is in order. A Nigerian court can only condemn it as severe, in their opinion, but they cannot overrule the sanction the NASS has handed to an erring member. |
Ochendo1:Lol. Whatever floats your boat. You people are the personification of the adage "a dog destined to be lost does not hear the Hunter's Whistle". Your history is littered with many tragic and disgraceful losses because you are a vainglorious people, bragging impotently to the end, on your road to perdition. We will see where Igbos future in the SW will be like. No need to say more. |
Lol. Before the internet we did not know the claim some made about "developing" Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, Thailand, Cape Town, Joburg,India, Indonesia , London, New York etc, etc, etc was outright lies 😅😅 |
christistruth01:Lol. Abeg help me ask them. People that hate others and do their best to exclude "outsiders" from gaining any form.or power or privilege in the SE now want to be 'indigenes' of States of Nigeria outside the SE? What a joke. The entire world, not even Nigeria alone, now know the antics of these people who always want to claim what they can never grant others willingly. |
Ochendo1:What tantrum? An assured people, the Yorubas, who are now moving to put in their place you lot, Mosquitoes who see themselves as Butterflies, are throwing tantrums how? Forget the brainwashing lies drummed into your head from birth. Yorubas are firmly in charge of Lagos and her most profitable sectors. Look at the fast food sector in Lagos for example. Completely and totally dominated by Yorubas. Yet what kind of dominance is una own if not the make-belief, emptily-braggart and self-delusional kind? Check the thread out below for proof. We can do other sectors too if you want. Property development, entertainment, IT, Graphic design, architecture, cinematography/film-making, the arts sales scene and even designer fashion etc, etc, etc. In the end, empty barrels and insecure folks make the most noise. Never those succeeding and dominating factually and quietly. https://www.nairaland.com/8055106/deji-akinyanju-founder-chicken-republic

EvilMerodack:Don't mind them. They are the only people who will go to South Africa to drag Cape Town and Joburg with South Africans. Ditto Ghana where some clown crowns himself King of Igbos in Ghana and then sets sight on establishing a Ghana "Settlement" in the nation. They are a joke. |
ProudlyLagos:Lol. Don't mind that dude. His hypocrisy , only bettered by that of his messiah Obi, is legendary and unmatched on NL. 😅😁
|
Ochendo1:Lol. So the USA, arguably the mightiest and greatest nation in the world, is not full of "real men" when her leaders warn enemies daily of what is to come if they dare, provoke or threaten America? Yorubas are putting you on alert, as confident and assured people do, and you are here shooting mouth emptily. The thing go do you like magic. Dey watch. |
Bendeco02:How will giving freedom to every region to go and develop optimally, commensurate to their human and material endowment, not "favour" any region assuming all regions are full of reasonable and fair-minded people? What you are saying is equivalent to touting a new American President can send black folks back into slavery under whites or Aparthied can make a return in South Africa under a new leader. This is not the sixties when Aguiyi Ironsi and his military acolytes forced the unification decree on Nigeria. The SW, SS and North Central zones that form the good regions of Nigeria, ready to grow according to the ethos of "charity begins at home", will defend any freedom Tinubu has given them to grow and thrive even after he is no longer President. They will resist being returned to 'one Nigeria' parasitism and slavery only benefitting you lot from the SE and your Northern retrograde pals you are now best friends with. |
Bendeco02:Yes, Tinubu's stay in power will end. Hopefully though, he would have succeeded enough decentralising power and processes so we will all be in independent and autonomous control of the socio-economic considerations of our region. We will see what will the fate of you covetously expansionist and ungrateful "developers" at that stage. |
helinues:Indeed. What they don't understand , and remain ignorant of, is the undisputed fact that Yorubas, though modest, are arguably the greatest of the four major ethnic groups of Nigeria (Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Fulanis) because of their achievements inside and outside Nigeria. Igbos alone, of at least 300 ethnic groups in the SW, have been the ones to constantly fight, belittle and insult Yoruba over the modest success they enjoy in the SW because they lack the grace and gratitude to respect good, hospitable and tolerant folks. They see those folks as mumus God has given them the divine right to "dominate" according to ther forefathers like Azikiwe, Charles Onyeama etal. It was inevitable and only a question of time, in the face of ungracious and needless provocation, before Yorubas begin moving to show Igbos that they are successful and thriving in the SW by our grace and benevolence and not the delusional superman capacity they ascribe to themselves. Make your bed then lay in it without complaining. |
jmoore:That thinking, that existed in the days of our grandfathers, is dead now because of the covetous, malevolenty expansionist and ingrate antics of you guys. You people, covetously rapacious and predatory in the land of others, while horrendously clannish and unwelcoming to "outsiders" in your region, opened the eyes of other Nigerians to the folly of their previously foolhardy belief we are "one" and "united". Those who welcomed you to thrive and succeed in their land, while you remained unwelcoming and inhospitable in your region, suddenly notice you now call their land , ungraciously, "no man's land". You shout you "developed" their land and have bought "99% of all properties" in the domain of "lazy, unambitious and owambe-loving Yorubas". If you remove you investment "Lagos will crash overnight" etc, etc Meanwhile you make these truly troubling and hateful claims against one of Africa's greatest, most intelligent, most successful, most innovative, most hard-working, most influential and most respected ethnic group that is arguable her most outstanding and laudable in the diaspora and outside Africa. Yet you wonder why we are where we are today without been able to see you and your people are the cause? |
Layi4real:They are simply not wise or good-hearted enough to note your factually valid points above. There is no well-meaning and progressive Nigerian that does not support Tinubu because they know what we are going through is for the best and unavoidable if we genuinely seek a much brighter "developed Nation" future. Good and progress-loving Nigerians appreciate that Tinubu is the special one because he has shown the bravery, love for Nigerians and conviction to do what must be done, that all other Presidents since 1999 avoided, even as he knows he will be hated in the short term by Nigerians who cannot appreciate the big picture. Tinubu believes the ends justify the means same as the most principled, loving and disciplined parents produce the best and most successful children who are grateful to their parents in future even if they initially hated the tough love those parent dished out raising them. |
2mch:Non of them will ever provide an honest answer to what you have observed which is the truth no sane person can deny. Ask them, for example, to explain why SARS, we can all accept were bad nationally, metamorphosed into an evil and demonic entity in the SE that murdered young Igbos to harvest and sell their organs and then dispose their bodies in Anambra rivers for crocodiles to feed on. Similarly, question them why Amotekun is waxing stronger as the best complementary security force to the NPF today whereas Ebubeagu, that Igbos rushed to copy Amotekun forming, has now been disbanded because of all manners of heinous crime against the people they are meant to protect. Yet these people will never focus inwardly on their problems. Everyday they wake looking to attack, demonise and demarket others led by their hate-mongers in Obi, Kanu, Ekpa etal. They are simply many shades of wrong. |
StaffofOrayan:Okay. Well, I am glad you now seen things as some of us already saw it back then. The prayer is for a man to grow wiser ,as he gets older, and not more foolish. To that end, I am happy you now see what some of us saw then. We know the Igbos and Fulanis are seeking new terrain with their beady eyes cast covetously on the verdant and lush SW. The entire Ala Igbo is barren, cursed and barely the size of Oyo. The North is suffering worsening desertification making it a region that may be aridly challenging to live in likely in around 50 years.or so. They are both eyeing other regions to claim as their own through subtle (Igbos) or overtly violent (Fulani) effort at land grab and forced assimilation. With the desperation of the Igbos and Fulani expansionist marauders, trying to make SW their 'annexed' home, is it not better all well-meaning Nigerians do their best to keep Tinubu in power knowing Jagaban, as a fan of decentralisation whereby we all lead ourselves autonomously in our region, will deliver the system most fair to how all Nigerians should live? Can we, at this stage, let let Obi or Atiku gain the keys to Aso Rock knowing the feudal nature of Nigeria whereby Igbos and some Northern supremacists are desperate to wield central power to use usurping what belongs to others all in the name of 'one Nigeria'? Buhari failed badly, to leave him with a horrible legacy at death, because he listened to Northern supremacist, like Malami and Mamman Daura etal, who convinced him that Fulanis interest must be prioritised ahead of that of others. They did a lot of horrible thing to Nigeria following that agenda. Contrast with PBAT who is decentralisation power so that every region can independently become as great as possible. If we reject him to then back Atiku or Obi, we are simply destroying the future of Nigeria and even our own Yoruba children unborn in a feudal nation where the two regions most predisposed to fundamentalist and violent terror, I.e SE and core North, are both eyeing the geographical annexation of the SW and the economic annexation of the golden goose (SS oil) of Nigeria. Look below to note only Yoruba leaders benevolently sided with resource control that would help the SS benefit more from their endowment and force other regions to embrace the 'charity begins at home' thinking whereby we all use what we have to develop, as Tinubu did with Lagos, rather than casting greedily lazy eyes over the assets and endowment (geographical and otherwise) of others. For Nigeria to gain enduring peace , fast-paced growth and sustainable progress, she has no choice but to be remodelled and restructured with greater focus on liberating socio-economic autonomy for all regions. Not continuous and unending parasitism on one other that is all Obi or Atiku will deliver. Yorubas need to ronu and I am glad you did.
|
AMINDA:Who is more desperate between Tinubu, who has contested to be President once, and Atiku who has tried to be President at least six times? We know Atiku is your born-to-rule, dishonorable and unconscionable Northern supremacist messiah but Nigeria does not belong to him and your kind only. You think it is right for your Messiah to want to truncate the North and South rotation agreement Tinubu and countless Southerners worked for and respected diligently during the reign of Buhari? You Northern hegemonists, who have chosen to follow Atiku's dishonorable ambition, will be fiercely resisted. You will lose because many sane and honourable Northerners recognise the importance of countless Yorubas who honourably assisted the North to have 8 years in power. They will work against myopic desperado like you and Atiku who do not see, same way you let some wreck your region with banditry and terrorism, the unpredictable territory you wish to take Nigeria into because of malevolenty naked and treacherous ambition. If Yoruba who agitated as shown below, through their leaders, lose hope in Nigeria's unity, because the North has shown them she has no respect for the turn of the South, what/who do you think will keep 'one Nigeria', that you people love so much, together and intact? Mark my word, sensible Northerners will never let it happen. They value the importance of the Yorubas to 'one Nigeria' too much to dishonorably renege against them and gain enemies who will then be fully focused on what is shown below and will never return to the North-South power rotation negotiation table. Na beans the support countless SW leader gave Buhari to become President while Atiku and co hid? Go and re-introduce yourself to history to note it was moderate and globally well-respected Yoruba leaders and administrators of good and terrorism-devoid international repute, like Fashola plus Fayemi and Amosun etal accompanying Buhari to meet Tony Blair etal back then while Northerners like Atiku and co, for good reason, hung back. It was the Yorubas who gave Buhari, highly distrusted by the West , the 'moderate' image that made Tony Blair, David Cameron, Obama John Kerry etal swing behind him against GEJ the world knew was not an extremist or fundamentalist as they viewed most Northerners to be. Sometimes, you sabre-rattling and hegemonistic imperialists need to be reminded of history and the importance of others. Especially the quality they bring to the table you do not have.
|
StaffofOrayan:You were one of the haters and bitter critics of Tinubu you felt was preventing the realisation of your Oduduwa Republic dream. What has changed? You think we all have memory loss issues on Nairaland? You insulted me and others because we stood behind Tinubu and his more feasible preference for decentralisation of power, towards greater regional autonomy, rather than the redundant noise of Biafra, Arewa and Oduduwa nation balkanisation all pragmatically wise Nigerians accept is an exercise in futility. Explain yourself because your hypocrisy stinks. |
Alliswell248:Who else? The most shameless in any society will also be the same people prone to lying shamelessly. It isn't Rocket Science. Propaganda and fake news has historically been the default tools to use in their desperation to skew the narrative in favour of their nefarious agendas. |
