DenreleDave:Solve what precisely? A "problem" that only exists in your head? |
AMINDA:See how wonderful God is exposing the enemies of Nigeria's progress and making them confess their sins willingly and publicly? If Obi is casually dispensable to you and others, like cannon fodder, does this not show you never backed him because you believed him best to be President and instead were simply motivated the most by what/who you feel will facilitate the removal of the "Yoruba President"? Have you now not exposed, beyond doubt, that your sort are engaged in politics of hatred, as core motivation, than interest in what is best for the progress, growth and development of Nigeria? |
@OP. Can you defend/explain Atiku's preference for living in Dubai away from Nigeria, the nation he wants to lead, and isolated from Nigerians he claims he wants the best for? Which Nigerian, who wanted to be or became President, has done that in our history? I.e sojourn abroad and then show up every election year to demand the Presidency?Awolowo, Azikiwe, Buhari, OBJ, Yar Adua, GEJ or Tinubu? Just name one. Shall I list the number of times Nigeria has been extremely challenged and Atiku was missing, silent of simply non-commital, as in the case of Deborah, because doing what is right may come at a political cost to him. He builds no Political Party and never endures with any. Preferring to go from one Party to another like a desperate opportunist only interested in his own personal ambition. When In Parties, he never involves himself in internal processes that strengthens and improves the political efficacy of those Political Parties as real leaders would do. His lifelong engagement with politics, political leaders and political Parties is always one-sided with Atiku looking to profit while giving nothing back to the other side. This distinctly shows, anathema to what leaders do, Atiku seeks parasitic engagement with others and never mutually productive/beneficial relationships. There are literally a thousand facts and reality that show Atiku is never a leader. I don't like to claim Nairalanders are paid to post because all are entitled to their opinion. Yet your post brings that to mind because it is akin to claiming night is day. Such a departure from proven and established facts/reality is very abnormal and suspicious. |
SmartPolician:Not when Adeleke has been abysmally poor to the extent his entire fellow PDP Senators, sensing he is a goner, have pledged allegiance to Tinubu for "continuity" of good work beyond 2027. Adeleke is a lame dame Governor who does not have the people behind him nor the political movers and shakers in the State to include even his own PDP colleagues in and out of office. https://guardian.ng/politics/osun-pdp-senators-break-ranks-back-tinubu-for-reelection/

parags:Precisely. The bolded encapsulates the big picture more or less. The so-called marketers want the retention of the condition that make it easy for them to blackmail and extort Nigerians. Whereas those who mean well for Nigeria will understand it is a free market economy we must embrace as an overarching approach to solving most problems facing Nigeria because nationally-backed subsidies are a thing of the past in most developed nations of the world. It is same with full deregulation of te Nigerian power sector. Serious States can partner with competent private sector companies to gain constant power which will improve socio-economic fortune of the States who take advantage of the deregulated power sector. Of course end users must pay more for power so that the private sector partner ,who most likely invested majority of the finance and carried out the technical work, claw back their capital and gain ROI i.e return on Investment. The caveat remaining that States who cannot engage in that manner, or do not wish to, can stay in darkness and stagnation. As simple as that. This is the time to get rid of all subsidy-reliant vestiges of redundant and indolent communism , we practiced for decades, to embrace a free market economy that will drive healthy competition, greater investment in research and innovation, better local solutions provision, socio-economic growth, sustainable development, greater manufacturing etc, etc. Nigeria and Nigerians will get richer and happier that way with many lifted out of generational poverty permanently . |
FreeIgboho:You don't get the key consideration here. Dangote is no philanthropist. He is a businessman who wants to make money by undercutting others in the market price-wise. If others too then respond by slashing prices, who win? The buyers i.e Nigerians. That is what free market economies do. Stimulate healthy competition, innovation and constant availability of goods and services. Since removal of subsidy, with the local Dangote refinery now functional, when have you experienced fuel scarcity that used to be the norm in the past when Marketers world hoard fuel and engage in cartel blackmail of Nigeria? When BUA refinery and others come on-board soon, it will be game over for marketers and that would be fantastic for Nigerians for many reasons. |
Softmirror:Lol. My thoughts too. They are predictably self-destructive and self-deluding. All they know to do is exploit each others vulnerabilities. Odumeje-style. The narrative they now want to sell, over Buhari's death, is Kanu was right and Igbos were right. |
tutudesz:He will Sir. One step at a time. Rome was not built in a day and PBAT has done a hell of a lot in two years. |
FreeIgboho:Bro, do you even understand what full deregulation of the downstream sector is meant to achieve? I.e completely free market competitiveness that benefits the masses? Like someone said earlier, God bless Dangote. He is "doing the lord's work". Better, for a nation with many in crippling poverty, to host a benevolent monopolist than a large cartel of price-fixing sharks determined to extort Nigerians to death because of inhuman greed. If some of you pay attention, you'd have noted that Tinubu has always said he believes in a free market democracy meaning he will support those who help him to deliver that. You are seeing the results now where the people win. Tinubu is a genius and the likes of Dangote etal will be his enforcers who will vanquish cartel and cabal-driven greed and extortion because the logic is simple. I.e if you can meet demand at a lower price than I can, then the market is yours to dominate. Such is never "donating it for free". It is healthy competition that tends to force suppliers to give the masses the best as obtains in the most developed nations of the world. AI Overview |
Kukutente23:He has been reprimanded because of Nigeria's obsession, from leaders to followers, with playing politics at the expense of truthful deliberation on issues. A lot of wholesale lies being sponsored by Northern born-to-rule supremacists and hegemonistic elements, even using 'hungry' Southern hirelings, to discredit Tinubu, the Yorubas and the SW in the eyes of Nigerians in the hope such tactics will see Atiku in Aso Rock via the backdoor in 2027. It will not happen. Onanuga did not lie neither was his reminder to some dishonorable ingrates from the North, not the majority I must clarify, out of context. The only mistake Onanuga made was to react as if he is an ordinary Nigeria whereas he should have been circumspect enough to delegate the 'reminder to others under his spin-doctoring office. His message is right and I back it. Next time he should give other the mic to voice it. Same as ADC , essentially Atiku and his hegemonistic Northern supremacist, are using mouthpieces like Lauretta Onochie etal for their dishonestly revisionist noise all in a desperate attempt to control and skew the narrative. |
RodgersAkpafu:Don't mind the joker. They never know how to stay in their lane. Ask him his connection with the UK and you will find he probably has never set foot in the UK let alone London. |
Nigerians and their sanctimonious hypocrisy. What is wrong with what Onanuga announced in the face of so much attack against Tinubu, the Yorubas and the SW by former employees of Buhari now revising history shamelessly to say SW votes played no part in Buhari becoming President? That uncouthly verbose Lauretta Onochie even said Tinubu did not support Buhari to win. Can anyone imagine the depth of wickedness some Nigerian political jobbers will stoop to because they now no longer have 'food'? Buhari has never won a single State in the SW in three attempts to be President until Tinubu , with his considerable ACN might, was in his corner in 2015 when he won all SW States bar PDP-led Ekiti that Fayose delivered to GEJ as a 'thank you' for his return as Governor. I back Onanuga's announcement 100%. Upright and honorable people don't deny the truth and they don't lie as all these failures under Buhari are now doing. They are a very dangerous and evil set of Vampires merely looking to victimise the "Yoruba President" , his Yoruba people and SW as enemies of Buhari and the North. Yes Onanuga has to remind them of the reality because as Joseph Goebbels, the Chief propagandist of the Nazis under Hitler, proclaimed "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it" That is what Onanuga is countering. Kudos to him for a job well-done. |
SalamRushdie:You guys from the SE are something else. Hateful anarchist who like no one and can never wish others well. You're always about negatives and hate with an obsession to then use propaganda to damn others you dislike. Read below and stop talking nonsense. I have lived majority of my life in London, from early teens, and know the dynamics of crime to be able to put issues in perspective under Ken Livingstone Bo Jo and now Khan. As the fact check article indicates, "the reality is more nuanced" and most objective Londoners knows that. You people should chill with your extremist behaviour. It is repellent. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/feb/26/fact-check-has-sadiq-khan-really-overseen-a-surge-in-london

Lionessza6:Indeed. He will have many dads now because the patronage system in Nigerian politics means many politicians are now automatically the patriarchs of the Buhari family. |
Lionessza6:Indeed. He is not wired that way. A relatively withdrawn young man not known for doing anything. Many sons are nothing like their fathers and that is okay because they don't have to be. |
SenatorCharles1:Stop clutching at straws because, by your doing, you are drowning in the redundancy of your initial ignorant and emotional argument you keep obdurately defending. If the Senate has the power to suspend and even expel an erring legislator then what is the garbage in bold in your post about? See last paragraph in the image below. Hopefully you will defer to fact and shut up.
|
SalamRushdie:How? Explain. Do you live in the UK and London precisely? |
SenatorCharles1:The bolded is you personified. Crystal clear you did not have the requisite education and knowledge to understand that the legislative arm enjoys separation of power privileges that means it has the right to discipline erring legislators within the limits of clearly stipulated punishment. Dont try and hide behind semantics to hold on to my humorous mocking of your use of AI. Bottom line is that you rushed to speak ignorantly. Perhaps someone had quoted you already before you could revise your ignorant utterance. Likely leading to you double-checking the official position of affairs to then "modify" you own ignorance with your grudging admission that the judiciary has no power over sanctions the legislative arm imposes on it's members. Furthermore, to show you exemplify the bolded in your post, you kept arguing about "violation of rights" when you have previously admitted the Senate has the right to do what it did. Think before you speak. Most importantly, back down when you get it wrong rather than double down in obdurate defence of your discredited talk. You end up looking worse. |
Wallade:I tire for these people bro. The arms of Governance, different to tiers of Governance, are the executive, legislative and judicial arm with clearly defined parameters related to separation of power between them. How can a Court offer anything other than a non-enforceable opinion, which is the case with Lie-Tasha's situation, if Senate rules and regulations allow legislators to discipline erring Senators according to their defined sanctions for what Lie-Tasha has done? The Court should not even have offered an opinion, to begin with, because they are overstepping their boundary. The rules are crystal clear. See below, with focus on "examples of disciplinary actions", to note Lie-Tasha's suspension is in order and the right of the Senate disciplinary Committee to impose as sanction for her misbehaviour. It is obvious the judicial arm of Nigeria is a total, unprofessional and compromised joke. Pathetic and a disgrace.
|
SenatorCharles1:Lol. You quickly used AI , after misyarning, to verify your own ignorance and then modified appropriately not so? You still don't escape appearing ignorant because the Senate has it's own disciplinary rules no court or individual can interfere with. Lie-Tasha is a glorified olodo always running to the court because she understands how 'buyable' and compromised our judiciary is. All your talk of "violation of her rights" just expose you as lawless as Lie-Tasha is. No Court can hijack the disciplinary rulings of the legislative arm. Same as our legislative and executive arm, on paper, cannot tell the judiciary what to do over matters solely under it's jurisdiction. Separation of power. Simple concept you don't seem to understand. |

TheBillyonaire:Well said. 👏👏 |
SmartyPants:They all grow up on a diet of steady brainwashing that tells them Yorubas and the SW are the beginning and end of their problems. Whatever they do not have, automatically it is the Yorubas that prevented them gaining such. They will never look at the fact that, say what you will about them, the Yorubas are actually the most amiable, peace-loving, sophisticated, welcoming and ethno-religiously tolerant of the major ethnic groups consisting Yoruba Igbo, Hausa and Fulani. Of course human resources matter when businesses do feasibility report on location of their premises and operation. They are not going to tell you what their report indicates but human resources, whether they will be an asset or impediment, influence their choice of location quite considerably. |
seunmsg:That is generally true but, additionally, Dangote is personally very comfortable with Yoruba people and the SW. Those who know him will verify this. He will go anywhere the money is but he gives business location priority to the SW if such is feasible. |
aswani:It really is. Opposition to something or someone, in relation to politics, should be logical and based on sound ideology. Never the case for Obidients. |
ResidentSnitch:Cry all you wan't. Yusuf Tuggur has stated the position of Nigeria that Tinubu would have ratified as his position also. You lot, hateful antics and all, are very predictable and that is why others get the better of you politically always. |
indemnityy:Many have reasons to despise Buhari personally. Yet, best to make no comment on his day of passing if in that category. let other adults do as they please. That is mindfulness. |
PaNnamdi:This is classless/immature from you. Unreasonable trying to tell other adults how to feel over the death of a prominent person. Even if that person offended them and they chose to mourn him after his passing then that is their prerogative. Other adults are not your kids and you must stop seeing everything from your perspective alone. Rather, learn to respect boundaries and stay silent at times like this |
