Since after the Taraba state election tribunal proceedings and judgement, I lost confidence in the election tribunals. Imagine granting an appellant what she did not ask for. The Legislature and the Executive can afford to blunder. But the Judiciary? I shudder to think about it and I hope our president knows the implications. |
Kai. These Northerners really fleece Nigeria big time. Capitalising on Jonathan's inexperience ( rather than cluelessness - courtesy IBB) to commit all sorts of impunity. Jonathan really tried to pacify and please them thinking they are his trusted allies by giving them so many appointments. Yet they conspired, even his party members - like Brutus - and betrayed him. All the betrayers must not go unpunished. |
One of the owners of Naijeria. Enjoy your wealth, Sir. |
Wasn't it under the military dictators that these toll gates were put up in the first place before OBJ dismantled them during his second missionary journey? So Fash and the Oga at the top want to take us back to the military dictatorship era. It's not going to work. Imagine how much a driver traveling from Lagos to any of the Eastern states - say Rivers - will end up paying whereas almost all Westerners who normally don't like to travel outside their region will have much much less tolls to contend with. It's unfair. |
I knew this will happen. You can guess who the contractors will be. The previous government was able to build, rehabilitate and maintain many roads without collecting tolls. Now this government has not even started and their first concern is how to tax the poor road users while they cruise around in their private jets. |
Fake pictures, fake crowd and fake winning. All these will be reversed by the court. He should rather start preparing for his own campaign and election instead of reaping where he did not sow. |
GodMode:You sound like a hypocrite. So Nigeria should continue in Ironsi's mistake because it suits people like you whereas when the Igbos declared Biafra, you did everything to undo it and force them back. |
INEC has had its way. Waiting for the courts to have theirs - up to the Supreme Court - which, by the way, should make more common sense . |
Can anyone guess the party they want to vote for? |
Why won't they replace him when he is a junior minister. I bet you if it's our substantive petroleum minister, he would have been returned unopposed. But, do we have one? |

Did Obasanjo really say that Nigeria may soon explode ? Turning and turning in a widening gyre, the falcon can no longer hear the falconer.Things may fall apart ( explode) and the centre may no longer hold. What happens then is anybody's guess. This government seems to be biting more than it can chew. Gagging the Social Media? ![]() |
Person wey know know who big pass am , na fool . I no call name o . |
kunlegboye:So after 4 years and the country is worse than before, you'll still blame GEJ? Don't worry we the electorate will decide on that. |
GudluckIBB:Even if he presented a NEPA bill for his certificate? Too bad. |
GudluckIBB:Jonathan was not allowed to come back. Good. But I bet you, by the time this man is through with Nigeria, you will regret he ever came in- on his second missionary journey. Probe is okay BUT can never be a substitute for making things to work. Right now Nigeria is on retrogression and depression. Or don't you feel it? |
I foresee this supplementary election not holding. What of the cases in court? In the end, a fresh election. |
gbegudujo:Ask them. I was expecting to see convincing reasons but he ended up using the same old worn out irritating cliches. It's like a student trying to defend his/her poor performance by claiming that, after all, some failed the same exam. Only a hypocrite will say that Jonathan failed Nigerians. I know he didn't. Propaganda and lies gave APC the power. |
Our president should learn to unclench his fist. How many world leaders still do that? |
It is only a Law Court that can make a Pronouncement on this absurd situation. Any other opinions are personal . INEC should have gone to the court for directions instead of the AGF . |
efilefun:Amaechi did not replace Omeha half way into the election. PDP had already won the election and since Amaechi won the primaries, the law recognised him as the party candidate hence the Supreme Court decision. The situation here is entirely different, Mr Judge. |
seunmsg:NO. What INEC should do is to go to court and get a legal backing and pronouncements on what to do. The AGF is not a Court and can never tell INEC what to do. |

billyG:Under the circumstances he comes second during the inconclusive election according to the votes cast. With all modesty, who is the loser now? You mean somebody that came second in an election cannot be declared winner under any circumstances? Go and study the Electoral Act very well. |
During the Taraba state Election Tribunal proceedings, there is this notion of "DOCTRINE OF WASTED VOTES ". I think this notion should apply here since it is a dead end and the Electoral Act never envisaged such absurdity. It can be amended LATER to take care of such cases in future. You can not amend the Act with a retroactive effect. So Wada of PDP should be declared winner. QED. |
I thought they went for a serious business. Why all the food, beer and wine? And Okorocha arranged for all these and is piloting the discussions? Anyway, let me see the resolutions they come up with before I make my comment. |
Samdemmy:But when this administration wanted to strictly implement this policy, most APC supporters hailed Buhari but now that there is complain, you remember Jonathan . Why didn't Buhari fine tune the policy before rushing in in order to take the credit. Hypocrites. |
Attacking the messenger instead of addressing the message. Oga, please you're now the Minister for Information, Federal Republic of Nigeria and no more the APC propagandist. Campaigns are over. And talking about mathematics, I wouldn't want to scrutinise APC's leaders' certificates as to their scores in that subject . |
Talk of propaganda , I give it to APC anytime. Very good at criticising - even when they're in government. Please, leave PDP alone and make Nigeria a better country. Enough of all these holier than thou nonsense. No amount of whining about PDP will translate to APC being good UNLESS it delivers on it's electoral promises . |
I doubt if Guiness will be able to pay this fine. What is their yearly profit? This people want to discourage alcohol production indirectly. NBL may be the next target . Sharia thing? |
This Doctrine of Wasted Votes get as e be o. Almost 400,000 votes adjudged "wasted ", for whatever reasons, doesn't seem right for our democracy. So the minority will now be ruling over the majority. Something is wrong with this judgment and I hope the Court of Appeal sorts it out. |
Vig86:Well said. I'll rather prefer Buhari to create his own personal records by fixing Nigeria. Does he even appreciate what those boys are doing? Has he called the team to boost their morals? |
