Culture / Re: What Does The Igbo Notion Of "Your Personal CHI" Represent? by Wulfruna(f): 7:28pm On Nov 06, 2013
Interesting question, really good question. I've been visiting and revisiting this post these past days hoping someone will have an answer.

But I think the question will need someone with a deep understanding of igbo phenomenology (am I even using that word right? grin) to even attempt an answer. And I doubt you'll find many of such 'scholars' here.

You actually ARE losing sleep over this, Tony. If you ain't, why is it eating you up so much how Agbontaen and Sony and some other people choose to identify themselves? Why all the bitterness and insults laced in your comments? One would think you stand to gain something personally if you manage to convince them they are Igbos. Give it an effing break already! This is like the oldest debate on Nairaland.

No Igbos in Sierra Leone either (except maybe recent settlers); just people of Igbo descent. Different things Their ethnic identity is now Krio. And they are actually a very mixed people.

Hmm. Good post. Almost ruined by the Nri-tainted debate. Fascinating that these people from the heart of Igboland reached Isoko and Urhobo. My maternal grandpa's is Itsekiri, neighbours to the Urhobo. Wonder if they reached there as well.

Would have been great if you had posted more pictures.
Crime / Re: Boy-14-rapes-nine-year-old-girl-to-death/ by Wulfruna(f): 12:29am On Nov 03, 2013
odua boy: Ibo boy coming all the way from alaigbo to molest a yoruba girl, what insolence, the boy's penis should be chopped off and fed to the dogs

Funny isn't it? Now he's done something terrible, he's Ibo. If he was on Forbes, everyone'll say he isn't Ibo, but Deltan or Anioma.

Anioma folks in the house should come and claim their own!

Bro... Don't play the Nigerian solidarity card. We read your comments. They reek of sarcasm. You really weren't expecting reasonable Nigerians to have your back, were you?

Ur exposition on Central African contribution to Afro-American culture is great. But generally your attitude stinks; and I think u are a bigger tribal bigot than BigFrancis (who I don't particularly like, by the way.)

I've hardly ever seen myself as a Nigerian. Mum's half-German. Dad's Kalabari. Born in London. Learning pidgin and Ibo from my flat-mate.

What's the point in showing us a mulatto S/African?

Mulattoes are everywhere... it aint a S/African peculiarity.
