It is a tiny bit unfair that this has to come down on just Fulaman's head alone. Yes, I do get the sense that he perhaps enjoys the trolling a little bit, to be honest. But there are two other moderators in this section. What is going on?

CultureRe: Somali Women Seeking Relationships With Black Guys by Wulfruna(f): 3:15pm On Apr 19, 2016
So I've learnt something today. Somali men don't eat pvssy, so Somali women run after 'Bantu' men to have their pvssies eaten. Remarkable.

I was looking for a shot of him in the oval office, maybe even shaking hands with Obama. Any tourist or schoolchild out on an excursion can take pictures in front of the White House.

You are like the first Somali on Nairaland that actually has common sense.
There are at least two others. But they don't post in this section very often. At least, not anymore.

Okay, before we start talking about how little politicians were taking home back then, can someone please adjust the sums to account for inflation, and tell us what that money is equivalent to today. Cause I know my mum bought a deep freezer in the 80s for like 100 naira.

Interestingly, at least one person who used to post on this forum asked this question once before.

Please, has anyone done the PLI without encountering any difficulty?

Tried this evening, and after the first page, the thing just wouldn't work. I had to end it without submitting, because I didn't see the point of submitting just 5 questions.

They sent me a re-invite though, but I'm scared of encountering the same problem again, so I haven't tried it yet.
CultureRe: Major Ijaw Cities And Towns In Nigeria: by Wulfruna(f): 11:48am On Apr 09, 2016
lawani:
But he was Ijaw of Opobo, head of an Ijaw house to which he belonged. The Ijaw houses were organised thesame way. They initiated foreigners to become Ijaw. Other people do same. Many Osu in Igbo land today are not descended from Igbos. Many may be Yoruba and etc. Names like Okafor, Okonkwo, Okeke are indicative of people bought as slaves and are probably Yoruba in origin. So take the people you have and leave others. Jaja of Opobo can not say he is any other thing apart from Opobo which is Ijaw.
I'm tired. Lemme just laugh at the bolded and be on my way. I wonder where on earth you got that from. grin
CultureRe: Major Ijaw Cities And Towns In Nigeria: by Wulfruna(f): 10:08am On Apr 09, 2016
Lawani, he didn't describe himself as Igbo. He didn't describe himself as Ijaw. It would be anachronistic if he had used either of those terms to describe himself in 19th century Eastern Niger Delta. You people need to learn how some ethnic terms like 'Igbo', 'Ijaw', etc were used in this country before the 20th century and stop repeating these mistakes.
CultureRe: Can one of These Igbos Become The New Deji Of Akure? by Wulfruna(f): 12:27pm On Apr 07, 2016
olaitoro:
I pray it happened,
with the influx of Igbos in yoruba land and their further assimilation of the yoruba culture, it is only a matter of time an Igboman will be an oba of lagos or alake of egbaland.

The step will further encourage cultural integration among various ethnic group and a unifying factor for our country.
Are you sure you are Yoruba?

Anyway, I can envisage somebody who has Igbo (or non-Yoruba, it doesn't have to be Igbo) maternal roots becoming an Oba in Yorubaland, but someone whose father is not Yoruba? Forget it. Never gonna happen. Ours (by 'ours' I mean most of Nigeria) is a paternal-based society.

Can't believe that our long standing culture, history, racial features aren't majority of Africa. One thing about Bantus is they love spreading everywhere and having as many kids as they can. They have turned more into pests | When Horn Of Africa rises and it will start with Ethiopia than Djibouti after that Eritrea and Somalia. How horrible Bantus in Southern Africa that is pretty sad but that is life.

CultureRe: Most Powerful Africa Kings Of All Time by Wulfruna(f):
emperorgoke:
due to the fact that some people, the Caribbean to be precise pray in his name " in da name of Jah Rastafaria, da mos high, da higherman" rastafari is the real name of Haile Selassie. Apart from King of kings(Jesus) nobody uses name of any king to pray except in the name of rastafari. Rastafarianism is a religion just like other religions. Virtually all the Kings u mentioned av not heard bfr except pharaoh... Don't call them misguided because it is their religion, voodoo can also be traced to Haile Selassie. C'mon! He deserve a shirt in ur list jor
Er...Voodoo has no connection to Haile Selassie. Voodoo (vodun) came from the Fon people of Benin Republic.

I'm not necessarily saying Haile Selassie was not a remarkable ruler; I'm only saying there were Ethiopian Emperors who were more remarkable than him.

What are his achievements, really? The Italians took his country from him and he ran to the League of Nations to complain. (The same Italians that Menelik II defeated before his time). In his old age, small boys in the army overthrew him in a coup and placed him under house arrest and (probably) murdered him.

The fact that a cult in Jamaica who held Ethiopia in high regard accorded him the status of a god is, from the standpoint of a political historian, of very little consequence.

Emperor Haile Selassie should be there, king Nimrod(first recorded king in the world) also should be there
If I want to put an Ethiopian emperor there, I will go for Menelik II before Haile Selassie.

Menelik led his country to defeat the Europeans and preserved his country's independence at a time the rest of Africa was falling under European colonial rule. What is Haile Selassie's legacy, besides being mistaken for a god by misguided Rastafarians?

the list is funny really
Any list of great african kings without Ramses II, shaka, sango is incomplete
I would also add Agaja Trudo of Dahomey (before I mention Gezo), Ewuare of Benin, Shamba Bolongolo of Baluba and Moshesh of Lesotho.
CultureRe: Most Powerful Africa Kings Of All Time by Wulfruna(f): 5:43pm On Apr 04, 2016
Cetshwayo ruled in the late 19th century, not the 18th. Why does he make this list and Shaka doesn't? I find that odd; Cetshwayo wasn't that remarkable a king.
CultureRe: Why Aren't Somali Woman In Hollywood???? by Wulfruna(f): 9:10pm On Apr 01, 2016
Somguy:
So much ignorance in this thread:

1) FGM is prevalent all over Africa - including Nigeria. In fact, Nigeria has the highest number of women who have suffered FGM: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3507121/

FGM is practised by people from all religions in Africa as it predates both Christianity and Islam.

2) Poverty and disease are not exclusive to Somalia. If you haven't noticed, all of Africa is poor. You losers are arguing over which country is slightly less shitty than the other. Meanwhile, Europeans and Asians are laughing at you all. Pathetic.

3) people generally stereotype African males as being misogynistic and having little respect for women. The way you talk about women in this thread only confirms that stereotype.

4) there are plenty of successful Somalis in the diaspora - mainly in Africa and the middle East. Some of the wealthiest men and women in East Africa are Somali and Somalis have even begun to push Indians away from their neighborhoods in places like Kenya. They are currently buying up property like there is no tomorrow:

http://chimurengachronic.co.za/the-rise-of-somali-capital-2/

One of the wealthiest families in Kenya is Somali, I believe they are worth over a billion dollars.

Not to mention the successful Somali businessmen and women in South Africa.

Of course Nigeria is a wealthier country than Somalia because it's much more populous, has huge natural resources (that are tapped) and has had functioning governments for many decades. Somalis are doing quite OK for a people who come from a war-torn country. The Somali diaspora in the West needs to get its act together though.

Finally, don't let some troll anger you to a level where you begin to insult innocent, impoverished people. It makes you look like a classless degenerate. What would I gain by making fun of poor Nigerians? The things I've seen on this forum are quite outrageous. Africans making fun of starving Africans. Not even the worst white racist would stoop so low.
Look here, Nigerians have zero problems with Somalis. Nigerians won't be saying anything negative things about Somalia and its people if your brother wasn't here saying negative things about Nigerians and other Africans outside the Horn.

Frankly, I'm pissed off at the occasional 'pacifiers' such as yourself who come here to tell the victims of daily provocations from your countryman, the Somali troll that they shouldn't make fun of Somalis blah blah blah.

It's not us you should be giving this sermon to. Take it to your brother. He always starts the insults. That's the only reason he has one million nairaland accounts --- to insult West Africans and Bantus. I don't know why you want to come at people who only pay him back in his own coin. Would you rather we just sit quietly and take his insults?
CultureRe: Were There Any Nigerian American Citizens Prior To The 1970s? by Wulfruna(f):
Figjtforchange1 is correct. No one sane would have wanted to go. Not with Jim Crow laws and lynchings of black people being the order of the day.

A small number did go to study there before the '70s though (most of them that I know of appear to be Igbo - like Azikiwe, Mbonu Ojike, Mbadiwe, Nwafor Orizu, Okongwu, Ikejiani, etc). It's possible that some of these Nigerian students played around with American girls and left Nigerian-Americans behind. Stuff like that always happens. Of course, I have no proof that it happened in the case of the pre-70s Nigerian students in America.

LOL. Okay.

But Cleopatra's family were not native Egyptians, but invaders from South-Eastern Europe. So she was probably white.

Yes, I know we have grown accustomed to thinking of her as dark-skinned, but facts about her ancestry suggest that we are wrong.

Indeed, the French didn't colonize South Africa. Do you know why? Because other whites got there first. Had Frenchies the chance, they would colonize the entire world. Nevertheless, France still had many colonies, outpaced only by Britain... and must now pay the price. And yes, all Europeans are equally racist. By the way, judging by your nickname, you might be Russian. Russians are notorious racists, they colonized (and still colonize) vast expanses of land in Asia, and treated the aboriginal peoples like animals. They must pay the price too.
And he/she is even wrong when he/she said the French did not colonise South Africa. A good percentage of the white Afrikaners of South Africa (for example, the Malans and the Terreblanches) are of French ancestry. The Afrikaners are a mixed French/Dutch/German bunch.

Volchitsa. You are Australian, right? Or at least you live in Australia?

So you are mad that Africans, like myself, come LEGALLY to Europe to live and work. But it was okay for your ancestors to invade Australia, commit genocide against the Aborigines and take over their land? Get out of Australia, then we can talk about Africans getting out of Europe.

I see your response to everything is to call people 'white pig'.

Sensible people recognise the harm that white domination has done, and they set to work to change how things are. Not-so-sensible people just poison themselves with hate (which does absolutely nothing to change things) and go around ranting and calling everyone pigs.

Continue on that path you're on and see where it takes you. Already you sound incoherent. God knows how incoherent you'll sound after you've done this to yourself for a couple more years.

A 28-year old woman, with her own career (she's a medical doctor, for crissakes), and who apparently no longer depends on her parents for daily bread or shelter should not need her parents' consent to get married.
