redcliff: Hey, have you been able to check the website? Il suggest you check autoscout.ch and define your parameters. Is it manual, auto, wagon or limousine? I have a 99 passat already in nigeria. Its manual and its very neat from switzerland. It has done 213k already. I can let that go for 680k. You would see better cars than in switzerland than germanyIs the 99 passat on nairaland? Can I have a link to it? cheers! |
Redcliff, thanks for this good job. I like Volkswagen Passat, 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0 engine, 4 cylinders, some have 5 cylinders, turbo charger, 1999-2002 model. Think they call it B5 or so. Tell me what it will cost to land it in Lagos port. Thanks |
94 model not 96 please, ok! Reasonable price though, happy sales |
Dear Nairalanders, kindly advise me on how to help this my friend. You will never believe he can do such a thing. He is married with 2 kids. He claimed to have met a College of Education girl when he was on an official assignment outside town, he later had sex with the girl sometimes in November, gave the girl some money and never call her since. Two days ago, the girl called to tell him she is pregnant, that she need abortion and that she need money like N10000 for it. She claimed the girl later called to say its not N10k again but N17k. He said he suspected the girl just wants to blackmail him, his wife must not hear about it, infact it will disturb so many things in his life. He asked me to advise him but unfortunately I happened to be the wrong person since I have never been involved in such in my life. I am also not comfortable with abortion, it is illegal and what if it goes wrong? He is ready to give her the money but fear that the girl may come back again to extort money from him through blackmail, he is now shivering like xmas broiler, lol... kindly advise him please, compliment of the season and God bless. cheers! |
Why 2007? Why not a very clean 2002-2004 Toyota Highlander? I am sure you will get this with your budget. |
its not ideal at all |
A man is expected to fend for himself and his family, but circumstances may force a man to consider doing away with the norm. For instance, in some cultures, it is considered wrong for a man to live in a house built by his in-laws. However, some people think it is not a big deal; besides, circumstances may require in-laws to lend a helping hand to their daughter’s family. Saturday PUNCH went out to ask some members of the public if it is right for a man to live in a house built by his in-laws. Only a lazy man will do that Dayo Jimoh In my opinion, it is very wrong for a man to live in a house built by his in-laws because he will be seen as an irresponsible man, and only a man who is lazy will do such a thing. Even if a man should live there, he will never be buried there when he dies in future. It is good for a man to have his own property rather than living with the woman’s family which is totally wrong and I will never do that. A man must have his own house-Seye Alawode It is not right, because one of the things that should be settled before getting married is to get an accommodation which is ideal for every man. So a man should not depend on his in- laws. Even when there is a problem, he should solve it reasonably. As for me, I cannot allow it. It doesn’t make sense Olumide Williams It doesn’t make sense because if a man should live in a house built by his in-laws, he will be tagged as a man who doesn’t have a focus for himself and his family, which means he is not responsible. It is reasonable for a man to live with his own family if there are any issues with accommodation but that should be for a short time. But for the man to live with his wife’s family, I will say a big ‘No’ to that. I cannot even think of taking such a decision. It is a taboo Vanessa Nwabogor In Nigeria, things like this are oftentimes seen as a taboo. This is because the man will not be respected whereas, he is meant to be the head of the house, not him seeking shelter from his in-laws, because a man like that will not be looked unto by his wife and children. For me, I won’t like my husband to live in such a house. Even if there is any problem with accommodation, it is advisable for him to stay with his own family or friends pending the time that the problem will be solved, rather than living with his in-laws. That way, the respect they have for him can still be maintained. This is not culturally acceptable Gbolahan Sunmola It is wrong for a man to live in a house like that because it is a shameful thing to do. This will also make the man feel so incapable and it is also not culturally acceptable, so I don’t support it. It is forbidden Folashade Mokwenyai It is not right and it is also forbidden in Yoruba land. It has been said that if a man lives in the house of his in-laws, he won’t be carried out through the door but through the window when he dies. I have seen a case like that before and that made me believe it is so wrong for a man to live in his in-laws’ house. It is not proper and I won’t allow my husband to do it. But if condition warrants it, he should not stay there for long so that he won’t be insulted at the end. It is inappropriate Nwajei Chukwuka Michael It is inappropriate because the man will not be seen as the head of the house anymore and he will be controlled by his in-laws. Even if there is any problem with accommodation, he can move there temporarily but he should leave the place within a short time. If he stays there for too long, his in-laws might insult him. As for me, it is not right. Any man that has pride will not do this Ejiro Willy It is wrong because he won’t have a say in that family again and his in-laws can turn him to a messenger, his wife might even neglect him. So it is better for him to stay on his own and if there is any accommodation problem, he can stay for a while but not for a long time so that he won’t be disrespected. For me, my husband is not a type of person that can do that and any man that has pride won’t do it. A man should establish himself and his family Tijanee Olalekan In Yoruba land, it is wrong and uncalled for. A man who is mature should know that it is a rightful thing to establish himself and his family and not the other way round. So living in your in-laws’ house is out of it and I can never subject myself to doing that because it is a shameful thing to do. The man will not be given his due respect Bolajoko Iyanda No, it’s wrong because the man will not be given his due respect. He will have to accept whatever his wife or her family says because he will have no choice. As a woman, I don’t support it. www.punchng.com/feature/adam-eve/should-a-man-live-in-a-house-built-by-his-in-law/ |

Baby mama: You make 60k a month probably living in a "face me I shoot you " and you wan marry? How much does a graduate earn at entry level in Federal and Lagos State Civil Service? With FG its just around 65k while with LASG, its far less than that. @OP, be focussed and pray for a God sent lady. You can save money since you dont spend much on trans and start a trade that your would-be wife will manage, you will realise that before long, God will smile on you and you will get there, its your days of small begining, despise it not, cheers! |
Even if Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello is the author of that letter to OBJ, how will it translate to electoral victory for GEJ? Just asking.... |
voltront: Since i bought my new car my impression about used cars has totally changed. you cannot compare the PEACE OF MIND you will get from a new car to that you will get from the "CLEAN" tokunbo cars that are in the market....... remember some of the cars are imported after natural disasters such as floods has ravaged them in Europe. we here buy them and start feeling fly. before you know it its one issue after the other. Granted the initial cost in buying a used cars is far better but in the long run you will end up paying for the balance in monetary terms and emotionally over the years. especially when you can afford a new one in the first place. a new KIA RIO is better that a used CAMRY..................from experience...........mechanic use person chop TIRE!have you heard of certified used car before? I bought my 2008 Toyota Corolla in 2011 with 65500miles, very clean. All I have done in more than two years of use is buy new tyres at 1year, regular change of oil (3months), changed brake pads once and that is all. I bought it for N1.9million from Cotonou then, I felt like selling it some weeks ago before changing my mind and my boss said he would pay N1.4million for the car and another lady colleague passionately begged me to give it to her for N1.2million, meanwhile my friends 2010 Hyundai Elantra bought brand new same time with mine for over N2million naira is being priced N800k-N1m. I wont buy just any crap in the name of new car. I also prefer new cars but cant afford the brands I have in mind for now. For me, Kia, Hyundai and these chinco cars are no! no!! no!!!. Let me tell you also that some of these so called warranty on new cars are a big fraud. They dont honour it. You go there and they start telling you stories of certain parts warrant will not cover, my friend must have spent more of his personal money on his "brand new" Elantra than I have spent on my tokunbo corolla. |
Eyop: You can contact Toyota dealership in Nigeria to confirm the price of a brand new Toyota camry. Even the new corolla sells for over #4million naira now depending on the trim. The cheapest camry in Nigeria is about N6million. |
faakay: OK well said. Can you please tell me where they sell brand new Toyota Camry for N3.5Million Bro? |
This may not be true. So many contradictions. Did Iyabo contest for any elective post in 2003? No. Lets keep our fingers crossed anyway. |
I know a man in Akure who sold his house in 1996 to send his then 23 year old FUTA graduate son to US, I learnt this guy studied and became a medical doctor in the US, in this 18years in the US, this guy has built a better house for his father in Akure, the man, now in his late sixties drives around in beautiful American cars and seems to be living well. Two other sons of this man are now in US courtesy the elder one who went in 1996. Methink its good investment for him since it is yielding good returns. |
peaceless peace! |
here: While Mbeki even organised a declaration stating a virus cannot cause a syndrome and refused the people access to the drugs and about 330,000 lost their lives from the ailment,Madiba said "he believes in the dominant opinion that prevails throughout the world, that HIV is the cause of AIDS, adding that he would only be persuaded otherwise if new scientific research showed "conclusively that that view is wrong.""...He neither wrote a letter to the government/ANC nor did he publicly attack the person of Mbekinow comparing Mbeki to Jonathan abi? You must be a fool! |

No, you are not the cause of his misfortune. Go ahead with the prayer session to satisfy your conscience and your understanding hubby who brought the idea. The economic downturn in Nigeria has led so many people to believe that they are being dealt with by unseen forces. May the good God show him mercy and give him a positive turn around. Your hubby is wonderful, God bless him, cheers! |

taharqa: You KIDS shld stay off d internet more often, abeg... Take dis to d Bank: GEJ will Win Rivers, with a landslide even (whether there are 1000 Ameachis); GEJ would very like Win Lagos, cos of many factors including 'migration' (although with a far lesser % than say Rivers); GEJ would Lose Kano anyday, anytime (even if he likes let him share #1m each to everybody in that state). BREAKING NEWS: It has come to the notice of the federal government that some part of Nigeria did not see the solar eclipse of today. The FG condemns this incidence in strong terms. Sensing that this may be the handiwork of some distractors especially the opposition politicians and some disgruntled elements to embarass this administration, the president has therefore to set up a 3 man committee headed by Information Minister, Mr Labaran Maku to investigate the remote and immediate causes of this monumental eclipse failure. The committee whose other members include Director of SSS and IGP has 3 days to submit its report. SGF... |
I used to know a family back then at Iju-Ishaga, Lagos. This family brought a small girl from Anambra State as househelp, they dont know her from adam, infact, it was someone who helped them to find her. The madam of the house told her hubby one day that since the girl dont have much to do while they were at work, that she should be sent to the govt pry schl in their neighbourhood. The man obliged and the girl was registered in pry 1 at age 9. She was the best pupil in her class throughout her stay in that school. She later got to Iju Grammar School at the age of 13, finished at 19 and cleared all her WAEC papers 9at once. This family was so happy to enrol her at OAU and later Nigerian Law School, VI. Today Chioma the former house girl is a Lawyer and is working with the court of appeal, married to a doctor and doing so well. She told me this story herself. She on her own has 5 girls in secondary school now. Dear friends, can you see how far a little kindness shown to a little housegirl can go. She says to whoever cares to listen that apart from God in her life, the family of Dr and Mrs Nwalanga brought her to where she is today, please, show a little kindness to that househelp today, it will have multiplier effect tomorrow, happy sunday. |
wwwkaycom:are we saying there is no medical solution to op's friends case? |
Bilateral tubal blockage/linear damage, are we saying its the end of the road for this woman? Isn't there medical solution to this? Just asking..... |
what is the price? |
KenGali: Shut up my friend!you have said nothing sir. Answer me, what is the propriety of this your idol buying an $800k car with public money at a time that there is near total collapse in almost every system in the country. In your warped mind, how far do you think that amount will go at the university of Abuja where things are no longer at ease as a result of poor funding, continue to write those inanities, continue to eat your cakes as long it lasts, the end is near. |
The woman changed her mind, her cousin, a captain in the army discouraged her from selling the car to us because he has interest too. What a beautiful car it was. Search for an affordable and fuel economical mid-size SUV continues. Thank you all. |
