@ hbred
OP asked for list of sub-urbs in the island/lekki axis and rough estimates of prices. I think such info would be of value to others so would encourage those who have such info to come and share it right here on this thread, rather than via email, so that all can benefit. Or do you suggest that each and every person who is interested starts emailing the persons you mentioned? I dont think that is efficient.

Thanks.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Can U Help Me Write Server 2003 Mcp Exams? Let's Meet. by X2X(m): 1:26pm On Feb 19, 2010
Go and study and work hard to get the requisite knowledge to pass the exam or forget about the certification completely.

What you gain by knowing the subject is far more valuable than the certificate. You are only cheating yourself by paying someone to sit the exam for you. Incompetence will eventually become apparent. Do yourself a favour and avoid the embarrassment, it might be more calamitous than failing the exam.

If it will be of any encouragement to you, I failed the Server 2000 exam the first time I attempted it in 2001. It was the second certification exam I wrote, I had passed the Win 2K professional exam a few weeks before (and was working towards my MCSE & MCDBA certification, was still an undergraduate at 200 level then). I went back and studied harder, got my hands dirty playing around with Server 2000 and re-wrote the exams 3 weeks later and smashed it in flying colours. Since then I have written and passed, at first attempt,  over a dozen other certification exams, obtaining the  SCJP,  SCWCD, SCBCD, SCJWSD, CCNA, CCNP, OCA, MCSA, MCSE, and MCDBA certifications along the way.

If I can do it, you can too. . . . and in case you are wondering, yes, I am Nigerian.

InvestmentRe: Interest Rate On Fixed Deposit Accounts In Nigeria by X2X(m): 9:55pm On Feb 06, 2010
@Roforofo

I am in the similar position as yourself (work location overseas and primary earnings in Sterling). I am considering opening a FD account too. Wondering if you could kindly provide answers to the following:

1. Your initial remittance back home, I guess it was via a Domiciliary account with GTB and then you moved the funds from there into the GTB Fixed deposit account. No? Is opening any of these account (Domiciliary, FD, current) possible without being physically present in 9ja?

2. You mention you make payments to family members. Is it possible to make such payments to non-GTB accounts? Can your folks collect the money over the counter or does it go into their nominated account?

I am traveling home in March (no BA strike, fingers crossed) and hope to sort out the rate negotiations with GTB or Diamond but I would like to open the accounts (Domiciliary, for "9ja-ward" transfer, if it is needed) from here (before traveling) so that I could initiate the transfers while still here.

Thanks.

Sagamite:
I can only assume that someone that has worked in Germany for 30 years would have some savings and probably own a property (mortgage paid up) he can vacate and rent out.

I doubt with the savings + rental income + N350K pension and possibly income from P/T work the original poster would struggle in Naija.

If he does, he can always head back to Deustcheland.
+1.

Where on Sapele road is this?  I see a reference to Christ Embassy camp ground, but I haven't been to Benin in a while and there wasn't any camp ground on that road the last time I was in Benin.

Please what documents do you have?
I am interested in knowing the answer to the above question too.

True, Faraday had a pass degree. . . how many years ago was that? Go to England today (Michael Faraday's country), and try the same.
Siemens' Roke Manor Research center employs a bunch of engineers. All have first class degrees. Many have PhDs.
Why not look at the list of physics and chemistry Nobel Laureates of the last 30 years (http://www.nobel.se) and show me how many of them have pass degrees from polytechnics. People want to be Michael faraday or Bill gates, but can't pass the minimal challenges posted by Theraja. Come on, let's be serious as a nation.
I could not have put it better.

Which Abuja police station can you get this form from. There address please.

Thanks
My friend, whose dad is an ex-police officer, told me that this police report thing can be done only in two places in Nigeria - at Alagbon and at the police head office in Abuja (Loiuse Edet house??).

Eventually he did mine for me at Alagbon. All the people who I know that have done this certificate did theirs at Alagbon (in Lagos) too, so I cant really confirm that it is done at Abuja. But definately, it is done at Alagbon.

Cheers

@BAC

There is/was a thread for Sterling rates. However, it didnt appear very popular with folks and is probably buried amongst the older threads . . . maybe it should have been made a sticky. I think it was started by naijacutie.

@thread

Those of us with interests in Pound Sterling would appreciate if you provide Sterling rates as well as Dollar rates. Thanks a lot for your efforts, especially gowaga.
