FamilyRe: My Sister Is On The Verge Of Making The Worst Mistake Of Her Life by xaggar(m): 7:17am On Sep 08, 2019
blackangel0403:
Hi guys, I i need your sincere advice pls.

My sister is a divorcee with two kids she is solely responsible for. Life has not been fair with her.

Finally, God brought a cute man who is based in UK her way, the man is willing to marry her and take her to the states, he has come to see our parents and also took her to see his, they have agreed to tie the nut in December this year.

The guy is currently in Nigeria and has been begging my sister to get pregnant for him, my sister knows for sure he will marry her once she is pregnant but doesn’t want to so that pregnancy doesn’t stop her from meeting other guys pending when he comes to pay her dowry. Note, they met in the club but the man still overlooked it and still proposed marriage to her.

Sincerely speaking, she wants to settle down with him but her problem is that she doesn’t want to get pregnant and stay alone all by herself pending when the man will take her and the kids to the uk, she wants to take in when she has moved to the uk, but then she is scared she might loose him before then as they are already having misunderstandings been that my sister likes hanging out with friends and going clubbing which doesn’t go well with the guy.

Now the guy is having double mind on if he can go ahead with the marriage or not, I have adviced her to take in for the man and by dec her dowry will be paid but she is adamant, pls what is the best option for her in this situation?

Take in for this guy now he is in Nigeria and secure him or wait till December and risk loosing him, note he is a very cute guy and every girls dream, my sister also is tired of life and wants to settle down, if she takes in now, by dec her pregnancy will be 3 months, she is also bothered abt wat people will say on why she took in befor she was married to the guy, my parents also especially my dad will frown at it but dey don’t know that life has not fair with her and she needs a man to call her own. Should she careless abt my parents and what people will say and take in or wait and do the proper marriage before she takes in?

She is 35 years old with two kids, no other suitor insight too.
OP, you are suffering from poverty; both of the mind and in status.

Keep playing the devil's advocate. Yeye dey worry u!

Those NSCDC guys are idiots. Hear the nonsensical excuse their lawyer is giving simply because of ordinary Keke.

They are saying they can prosecute on behalf of the AG but do they have the Fiat of the AG before prosecuting?

This is the same stupidity they started that made Buhari collect arms from them.
Which arms did buhari collect? Is it the one your mom gave them?

But anyways, this is a useless case being handled by the NSCDC. Keke matter! Rubbish! E be like say dem no get work.

Do you know why SA can confidently do the sh*t they do, it's because they've seen a country so divided among themselves internally that they can barely stay united and speak with one voice against foreign attacks.

And to think some retards here on nairaland are saying the Nigerians there are just from a particular tribe, shows how low we've gone as a country. As a matter of fact, Nigeria can no longer be called a country if a fellow countryman can say sh*t about his own countryman in the full view of other nationals.

Nigeria will continue to be volatile to foreign attacks in other countries if we continue to be disunited. The world is watching, let the retards, tribalists and olodos take note of that
Good mention!

How will your celebrities react... If it where a bomb blast in France or America, you would have seen the imbeciles that call themselves Naija celebs posting hashtags on social media like the dumb, "Pray for France", "My heart goes out to Syria", "I am with you America", etc...

At the end, all these na just talk... Things will cool down, everything will be forgotten, till the next xenophobic opportunity. Anyone who thinks these guys will have a change of heart is dreaming. Xenophobia is like a disease, a mindset, an indoctrination, just like racism... Meaning they will always hate foreigners, especially Nigerians.
Another stereotypical copycat comment!

Nigeria is a messed up country already. So I wouldn't blame anyone pissing on our heads

In a sane country, the Minister of Foreign affairs ought to have been meeting with his SA counterparts over this issue. But here, he typed from twitter

Even the FG has assured us that Buhari has a meeting with his SA colleague in October. So South Africans can keep killing us for the rest of September.

You can ban Nigerians from entering your country. You can even send them back. But don't destroy their properties or attack them.
Enough! Enough of these silly comments debasing your country. Nigeria is this Nigeria is that! Aren't you ashamed of such silly statements.

Just because you want to be part of the "useless stereotypical bandwagon on nairaland" that insult this country don't mean you should be up here writing this trash.

All I see on nairaland concerning this issue is tribal wars and debased and abusive comments aimed at this country/citizen in the full glare of the internet world!

Shame on you and your level of reasoning!
Shame on you and your negativity!

If you think this way, who do u expect to correct the situation in Nigeria? Your late grandma? The sooner you are aware it's you, the better you stop this copycat comments.

Nonsense!

Let them keep sacrificing their lives in SA.

The signs are there. But if they choose to stay, that's their problem. There are 195 countries in the world.

Apparently in the world, Nigerians are the lowest of the lows. In Nigeria, foreigners( the Chinese, Lebanese,
Indians, Arabians, etc) treat them like shit. A foreigner comes to Nigeria and is automatically placed on top
of the food chain whereas when Nigerians travel to foreign countries, they are automatically placed at the
bottom of the food chain irrespective of their qualifications.

In foreign lands, the foreigners treat them like shit. Home or abroad, Nigerians are treated like shit.

Who did this to the psych of a whole nation?

/
Since you are aware of all these, what have you done or what steps have you "made" to stop the stigma?

Really?

You guys live beyond realities of life. Wallahi!

Wars are fought for posessiveness on territorial space. Wars begin with targeted attacks.

A claimant to a space demands its continous dominance over a new class of arrivals disrupting its power and authority on the land.

Culture clash is often first signs of power disruption. Every culture has a right to self-preserve against threats of displacement by a foreing element on its soil.

It is well known in US that the govt is against polygamy. Intentional communities that practice polygamy are placed on surveillance and are soon raided and disbanded. Sometimes federal agents will forcefully arrest their leaders and lock them up then systemically rehabilitate the community members into mainstream. Leaders that resist arrest will have to settle for gun duel and firepower to settle score.

So US, land of liberty, will not think twice before it would eliminate value system that clashes with its culture.

This is common practice around the world.

Zakzakky and Shiaa are being disbanded because the mainstream muslims up there in North believe IMN cluture of Islam clashes with that stamped by their leaders as authentic.

So when certain people go to SA and clash with their culture why should we blame the people for self preservation?

What is xenophobia?
Words like xenophobia, racism are expressions to be used by the victim to seek redress against injustice. It does not give you guarantees of liberty to disrespect your host country and fail to respect what is dear and of value to them.

I have more sense in one lifetime than you can ever have even if you reicarnate and live 10 life times.
Because you speak grammar don't mean you are right. It happens doesn't mean it's okay.

Hope you got my message.

itsme01:
my question specifically stated 1999 till date, fct was moved since 1991 without Lagos earning any kobo like 13% derivatives or special status.. Tinubu came in when oshodi was a gang war territory, and transport was a nightmare after marwas misrule. and since you asked what lagos produce 80% of our customs earning comes from lagos (cos your militants are foolish to chase investors out), and lagos have an almost 40k bpd crude rig station
80% percent of our custom earning comes through the Lagos ports because the useless leaders supported/sponsored by your "lord and saviour" tinubu, refuses to work on other ports and inland water ways in the country. They crippled the capabilities of these areas so as to make Lagos relevant.

Should the ports in the South-South be fully functional, your dream Lagos would be a shadow of itself. After all, most importations are for/by other parts of the country. Patronage of the congested Lagos ports and digustingly terrible apapa road would drop by 50%.

And by the way, your description of oshodi is only for Nollywood movies... Stop the useless exaggeration; I lived there as at that period.

Stop the overhype!

itsme01:
oya lets bet, if your state outshines lagos in any thing since 1999 you win
How can you compare a former federal capital territory with a state? Or don't you know that Lagos was shaped as it is because of the spendings by both federal government and the private sector due to its old federal capital status?

That's why you have people of all sorts flock down there due to its former federal capital status which has already become a norm.

If you say it's because of the sea ports; the South-South (Port Harcourt, Warri and Calabar) could have been in the same level or status. But that isn't so because they aren't accorded a federal capital status and as a result, you have little or slow development in terms of infrastructure and human capital.

Stop bragging about Lagos when you and I know that it was built by the wealth generated from other regions of the country most especially South-South (Crude Oil).

What do Lagos produce in terms of raw material or minerals?
