To go Lagos Island now be like person wey dey find job for Island. Did you grow up in the Brazilian Quarters of Lagos Island? The Grammy Award winner, SEAL Henry Olumide Samuel lived there before going back to London in 1979. He is of returnee Yoruba Brazilian descent. Lagos Island needs massive gentrification though to draw more tourists from Diaspora Yoruba and non-Yoruba Hispanic communities in Cuba, Brazil, USA who have deep interests in Yoruba history, culture, and religion as seen on YouTube. |

The point is SR has no INEC source that told it anything,it just fabricated this report based on gossips or it's view of the reason the INEC returning officer refused announcing the results. |

Most Yorubas landed in the late 1700s and 1800s from those slave ships in Bahia State. So it is in that majority Black State of Bahia that Yoruba language and religion is more pronounced not in the whole of Brazil. I hope this helps. |

Are you headed for the Middle-East (Asia), Canada, UK for work or academics? Here's more of my POV below: If you've done your due diligence and the offer is genuine (with real testimonials from others and references) in the medical or tech fields for instance, then just do it. But then again, since your subconcious is reacting to the RED flags such as you having to leave your man behind in the interim, and the "pushiness" then you have to step back more and logically analyse the situation. There have been horrendous stories though of innocent and unsuspecting young women and men from Yorubaland and elsewhere who spent millions of Naira (derived from selling their family lands or borrowed money) to travel to Oman, Lebanon, etc, and ended up getting their travel passports seized and turned to sex slaves as housemaids instead of getting the social worker or other formal or semi-formal jobs they were promised. Abike Dabiri's intervention got the ladies out of Oman and Lebanon back to Nigeria. It would have been better if these folks had used the millions of Naira spent to travel out on agribusinesses and other investments back in Nigeria. |

GRVLagos: I have been weighing my words carefully but people, I am a proud yoruba man, who comes from a family of indigenous Lagosians , and we can trace our history for 100s of years, and yes my mother is igbo, and I take no shame at all in that part of my heritage, my parents have been happily married for over 40 years. We have many great Nigerians of mixed heritage, the current governor of osun state also has an igbo mother and his yoruba heritage isn't called into question. I love being Yoruba.
There is no igbo takeover going on in Lagos, and it's a dangerous and unfair thing to insinuate, LP won lagos convincingly during the presidential elections, and all people of all tribes voted for LP , even winning apc strongholds like alimosho cause we all recognized the need for a better Nigeria, some powers that be know this and think the smartest way to hide their failures is to then make it tribal split, instead of focusing on policy and how the government can work to make the lives better of all Lagosians.
Now to explain my heart, I will admit sometimes some of my words look bad without a larger picture but I know my heart, the problem of making nigeria work for all Nigerians has been in my heart from time, Nigeria as is , is not working for the vast majority of people be it tribe, social class or religion https://thehopefulnigerian./2016/07/26/how-can-multi-ethnic-tension-be-managed-in-multi-ethnic-societies-like-nigeria/ here's a 2016 blog I wrote about it
I said it on multiple times on different platforms , that the detention and demonization of Sunday Adeyemo wasn't right and the government needs to address what led to him rallying our people to defend themselves, that while he isn't perfect his actions were a response to a bigger problem. |

ExAngel007: Lawyer Shares Before And After Photos Of Herself 6 Years After Walking Out Of Her Marriage
Olasumbo, a Nigerian lawyer, has gone online to talk about the marriage she left.
She took to Twitter to share before and after photos showing her amazing transformation six years after walking out on her marriage with her two children.
The 30-year-old mother of two shared her story via Twitter when she celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
“This is what I looked like when I walked out of my marriage in 2017 with two toddlers. I just clocked 30, I was mentally, emotionally and financially drained. I was tired and i knew i had to walk away. Did i know what i was going to do next? No but i walked,” she wrote.
"Okay let me tell you why it looks all shitty, I left my marriage clueless about the next thing to do but knew I had to run for my life yet I has no family support. I was not lucky to come from a stable family background, my ex saw this and capitalised on it.
"The marriage was 4 years old as at when it officially ended but it was dead from the beginning. I know the judginas will ask if I didn't see the red flag...well story for another day but well the deed has been done and now I have two kids who had no fault.
"My entire desire was to protect my kids. I mean they know nothing about the folly and stupidity of the parents that brought them to this world. I saved up and got my own apartment. I remember crying so much the first night I moved into my new home. I was scared.
"I had never gone on this kind of journey before and i don't know how to walk this path. I was totally confused and clueless. I was more afraid for my kids, scared they would suffer which i do not want, what if they fall sick and I can't take care of them? So many what ifs.
"All these was in 2017....this is 2023 and yes it has not been a smooth journey...my life has taken a pause because I was not opportune to have a family support and I had to learn, unlearn and relearn on my own. My career has suffered so much. Yes.
"My wants, desires has all been pushed to the base because I can't afford all at once so my kids come first..it has not been an easy ride doing this alone, no single financial support from the man who bore them even though he has 100% access to these kids.
“I look back today and ask myself if it is all worth it and Yes I am happy I made that decision. I am proud of the pains, the tears, the laughter. I am proud for holding myself strong despite the stigma and backlash that comes with being a single mom. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ME.”
https://www.tori.ng/news/230638/nigerian-lawyer-shares-before-and-after-photos-of.html Lovely body transformation in 6 years. 'Sumbo, now 36, obviously saw the red flags at 26 when she got married, but chose to ignore them with the hope that the dude would change with her help like most women often like to do, but she ended up taking a walk at 30 with those 2 kids. I believe her story though because I have seen real life stories of some men worldwide who are deadbeats or visit their kids occassionally, but are still NOT financially stable. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Pay Attention To High Flyers In Your Organisation by XAUBulls: 2:57pm On Mar 21, 2023 |
Rubyjade: It is important to pay close attention to High Flyers in our organization in order to keep them.
A High flyer is someone who does everything he does above the level that is generally expected and as a result of this, a High flyer tends to achieve more than the average person in every walk of life.
High-potential employees are an integral part of an organization's overall talent management strategy, it is imperative to put programs and processes in place to attract, develop, engage, and retain top talent.
One peculiar thing about these high fliers is that they seem to bring out solutions to problems very fast as though it was magic.
These people do not waste time thinking about problems but they go deep into finding solutions to those problems.
They believe that instead of thinking about the problem, they figure out a way to solve it. This is why they are often called high flyers.
A team of 5-star employees is able to produce 16 times the output of a team of five average players working individually.
Having this understanding a few tips will guide us in retaining them
👉Understand how they work and let them have their space. 👉Their motivating factors are different, find out what 👉Do not tolerate the laziness of other employees 👉Avoid Micromanaging them at all cost 👉Do not take credit for their work. 👉Create learning and growth opportunities 👉Open communication and a culture of constant feedback. 👉Mentorship planning, job rotation, and cross-functional training 👉 Do not promote or compensate when it is too late already.
The management must strive to live up to the expectations of retaining high flyers employees. Use data, focus groups, town hall meetings, and retreat to feel their pulse, we need them for business progression.
You see those of you that are lazy in your organizations and would not do anything but gossip I am not referring to you, just go and stand at the back of the queue. 😄 😂 Copied Indeed. |

Rubyjade: I'm responding to this at work this Monday evening in my Jeans/Tshirt and sneakers in the city of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
I recall during my physical induction (prior to resumption as all interview process were virtual), I had on a formal "blue" dress. I dressed corporate because I didn't know that culture until I came in and asked the questions. Interesting thing is, I am responsible for driving the culture and we are informal in dressing, but some organizations prefer formal wears. Whatever works, company culture needs to be researched, but for interview, please apply the principle, dress formally to be on a safe side.
Until my elder cousin left Nigeria, She thought having visible tatoos was unprofessional. Let’s just say he was wrong. In a country where things were so tough and he had to jump danfo, he was expected to wear cooperate attire for a role with almost zero face to face with customers/client. Now he went there with all the cooperate but almost everyone wears jeans.
Whose culture are we really practicing in Nigeria cos I am getting confused.
This kind of myopic behaviour is part of what holds Nigeria back from progressing. Unnecessary judgement, In Wales, bankers, doctors and nurses are spotting all sorts of tattoos and no one cares.
Why do Nigerian employers care about such things? @Rubyjade, International business etiquete is shaped based on country-specific cultural values. Period. |

TMSMedia: Traders are counting their losses after shops and offices were destroyed as fire broke out at the popular Onitsha Main Market, in Anambra State, IGBERETV reports.
According to an eyewitness, the fire broke out early morning of Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in a section of the market known as White House. White House is the office of the leaders of the market, an expansive two-storey building and hosts several offices, halls for meetings in the first and second floor, while the ground floor hosts shops.
"The area mostly affected by the fire is the block of shops under the white house, where expensive lace materials are sold.”, eyewitness said.
Firefighters battled for hours to contain the inferno as some of the traders salvaged their goods while others watched in tears as the fire consumed their shops.
Spokesman of Anambra Command of the Police, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said firefighters and policemen were on ground to control the fire and prevent looting.
A video which captured the fire was shared on Facebook by Udeh Nicholas with the caption;

sangresan: Where is Governor Otedola from?
Let me even ask you something. Are you Yoruba? If not, then you're only fooling gullible Nigerians.
The issue between Yoruba Lagosians and Yoruba Ara Oke has been there from time immemorial. So, you're wrong to say something is brewing. In fact, the issue has died down in recent years, unlike how it used to be in the First Republic.
Look, many of these Yoruba Lagosians migrated to Lagos from other Yoruba towns. The fact is that you cannot separate one Yoruba town from the other. Nobody is more Lagosian than Sapara Williams, the first qualified lawyer in Nigeria. For your information, Sapara Williams' lineage is Ijesa. Moreover, you cannot be more Lagosian than the Ijebus of Epe and the Aworis who are bonafide Yoruba sub-groups.
Most of these Yoruba Lagosians who amplify issues between them and other Yoruba sub-groups are the resettled slaves from Brazil and Sierra Leone like Bode George and Rhodes-Vivour who don't even have ancestral lands in Lagos. Very well said! You forgot to tell that ignorant creep that Eko is derived from Ereko which is a Yoruba word for a "farm." I have maternal lineage from Lagos Island and everyone including the Oba of Lagos Island knows this fact. The non-credible Wikipedia and some Edo propaganda websites are the sources of the falsehood that Eko is an Edo word. This is pure falsehood and madness on the part of these trolls. |

FisifunKododada: It is IMPOSSIBLE to get to Lagos from ANYWHERE (outside Yorubaland) in Nigeria without going through at least 2 other Yoruba states. So, if the Edos (together with their okoro enablers) want to come and collect Lagos, they have to cross Ondo first and then Ogun state before they get to the border of Lagos.
Lagos is bordered COMPLETELY by Ogun state and the Atlantic Ocean. That means only two groups can be indigenous to Lagos: Yorubas and fishes (from the ocean). If you're not a Yoruba or an Atlantic fish, you're not indigenous to Lagos. Know this and know peace. This message is especially for the foolish bini people and their Ibo enablers. Because if you're not Yoruba and you're claiming Lagos, then you must be a fish and we will either send you back to the Atlantic OR prepare roasted fish with boli. Lol... I like your kickass usage of dialectics here. Thumbs up! |
